"There Will Be Lot of Bloodshed": Radical Leftist And Congress-AAP Supporter Prashant Bhushan Calls For A Revolution

Lawyer, alleged activist and AAP supporter Prashant Bhushan has said that a revolution is the only way to regain power, warning that it would involve “a lot of bloodshed.”

Bhushan made the remarks during an online Space on X hosted by Nimo Yadav and a handle named Jitesh.

This part of the audio clipping shows him responding to a question from alleged standup comic Kunal Kamra, who invoked a remark attributed to former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru about the dangers of placing the country in the hands of constitutional lawyers.

Kamra asked Bhushan, “Pandit Nehru had said that if India comes in the hands of constitution lawyers, it will only bring misfortune to the country. How do you see that comment now?”

Responding to the question, Bhushan said that there were no other options and that power could only be regained through a revolution.

“The problem is that we don’t have any other options. The only option we have is that we do something through revolution. There will be a lot of bloodshed in that revolution now,” Bhushan said.

He went on to claim that the authorities were using the police and paramilitary forces against their opponents, adding that firearms had not yet been deployed but could be used in the future.

“These people are using police, paramilitary now. They haven’t used guns as of now. But they will use that also. They can call the army also,” he said.

Bhushan’s remarks about revolution and anticipated bloodshed come amid his criticism of the government. His statement that revolution is the only way to regain power, coupled with his prediction of bloodshed, is likely to draw scrutiny over the kind of political action he was advocating.
