“So-Called ‘Intellectual’ Outsiders Are Speaking, Stupid Fellows”: Vijay’s TVK Minister Aadhav Arjuna Cooks Cockroach Prakash Raj Over SIR

“Intellectuals Are Coming From Other Towns And Speaking”: Aadhav Arjuna Takes A Dig At Leftist Dimagi Naxal Prakash Raj

TVK general secretary and minister Aadhav Arjuna has hit back at critics questioning the role of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly election results, taking aim at what he described as outsiders coming to the State to lecture people on politics.

Although Aadhav did not name actor Prakash Raj directly, his remarks about intellectuals coming from other places to criticise Tamil Nadu politics come amid Prakash Raj’s recent campaign against SIR and his criticism of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay for not holding press conferences.

Dimagi naxal actor Prakash Raj was in Chennai recently and had argued that SIR risked dividing the country into people with voting rights and those without them. He also claimed that the exercise had removed more than 13 crore voters nationwide and urged people to protest against it. He had also taken a dig at Chief Minister Joseph Vijay for not giving press meets.

Responding to the criticism surrounding SIR and TVK’s electoral victory, Aadhav questioned why the DMK was blaming the revision exercise for its defeat when it had been in power and had appointed the officials responsible for administering it.

“The other day there was a criticism that government officials are only listening to DMK Union Secretaries and DMK Branch Secretaries. Why? Because the voter list is going to them only. Who appoints people in the Revenue Department to the 234 constituencies? It was MK Stalin’s government,” Aadhav said.

He accused the DMK of using SIR to explain away its defeat despite having controlled the State administration before the election.

‘They Should Not Come to Tamil Nadu and Do Foolish Politics’

Aadhav then launched a sharp attack on those questioning TVK’s victory, challenging them to account for the DMK’s extensive grassroots network and its knowledge of voters across the State.

“Intellectuals are coming from other towns and speaking. Stupid fellows. Who is the ruling party? Don’t they know politics? Stupid fellows. They should not come to Tamil Nadu and do foolish politics. They should do that in Delhi,” he said.

Without naming Prakash Raj, Aadhav’s remarks offered a pointed response to outside voices commenting on Tamil Nadu’s electoral politics and the implications of SIR.

He argued that the DMK, which had governed Tamil Nadu before TVK came to power, had spent decades building an extensive network of district, union and branch secretaries who knew individual households and their social backgrounds.

“You were the ruling party, DMK. That DMK which knows each and every house in every street, which caste, which religion they belong. They have been doing for the past 75 years. So if 1 crore people have been removed, were they removed without the knowledge of these district secretaries, Union Secretaries, Branch secretaries?” he asked.

Claims Young Voters Were Removed

Aadhav also alleged that young voters, particularly those belonging to Generation Z, had been affected by the deletions during SIR. He said TVK had opposed the exercise and argued that the party could have secured an even bigger victory had it not taken place.

“We protested. They had removed Gen Z kids in that 1 crore deletions. We protested that we don’t want SIR. If there was no SIR, TVK would have won 160–170 seats in Tamil Nadu. DMK removed all the youth,” he claimed.

He further alleged that the DMK and government officials had acted together to remove voters under the age of 30, questioning the responsibility of the officials involved.

“Why did they remove them? DMK also conspired to remove all those who were under the age of 30 and the government officials also played a part in it. Who appointed all of them?” he asked.
