Dimagi naxal and leftist actor Prakash Raj launched a sharp attack on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, questioning his refusal to hold press meets similar to PM Modi.
Attacking PM Modi and then comparing to Joseph Vijay, he said, “This monarchy by this Ranga Billa, please realise that the way they have humiliated you like no other. This king will not give one press meet also. Not one press meet. Should you not get angry at this? Even if it is the CM of Tamil Nadu also I will ask. After being elected, no issue raised by the media is a wrong issue. Raising an issue is the job of the media. To answer their questions is your duty. If he does not give a press meet, you must protest. Why are you covering them? Do you realise that they are humiliating you? You are the fourth pillar of this democracy.”
Prakash Raj further criticised the state of democratic institutions, saying, “What has happened after this king took over? People have lost faith over judiciary. People have lost faith on the police. People have lost faith on companies. People have lost faith on the media. How do you live in a country where there is absolutely no hope?”
He then urged people to question the government and stand up against what he described as the suppression of voiceless people.
“You must ask this question; I am also asking all this question. This is wrong. We must not let this go. Today, we may listen to them. Like I said, we are all going in the same boat, then there will be nothing to ask. If he comes for a Muslim today, then tomorrow he will come for you. It is essential that we stand up for the voiceless people.”
