An alleged ego clash is reportedly brewing between different power centres at Fort, with a dispute over access to intelligence reports bringing tensions to the fore, according to a report in Junior Vikatan.
The report states that intelligence officials traditionally submit a Daily Status Report (DSR) to Chief Minister Joseph Vijay three times a day. However, Vijay is reportedly showing little interest in reading these reports and has been directing officials to hand them over to the “strategic adviser” instead.
The development has reportedly unsettled officials in the intelligence establishment, as the DSR is intended exclusively for the Chief Minister. According to Junior Vikatan, the strategic adviser and two other influential ministers have been reading the reports on a daily basis.
The report further claims that the intelligence chief is insisting that the reports be accessed only by the Chief Minister. This disagreement over who should have access to the sensitive intelligence reports has reportedly triggered an ego clash between the competing power centres within the government.
