
A migrant worker was found murdered in Madurai, with police launching an investigation into whether the crime stemmed from a drunken altercation, as reported in Chanakyaa.
The incident occurred in the Kodikulam Kuruvi Odai area under the jurisdiction of the K. Pudur Police Station. The deceased has been identified as Raja Jaisingh, a migrant worker from a northern Indian state.
According to preliminary information, Raja Jaisingh was allegedly assaulted with a stone and later hacked to death with a sharp weapon.
Police have launched an intensive investigation using CCTV footage and sniffer dogs to trace those responsible for the murder.
Investigators are also examining whether the killing resulted from a quarrel that broke out while consuming alcohol, as liquor bottles were found near the crime scene. Further investigation is underway to establish the exact motive and identify the accused.
