Journalists of The Hindu and The Wire indulge in derogating Hindu God Hanuman

Coming within days after the Hindustan Times journalist’s tweet on Hindu God Krishna, journalists of The Wire and The Hindu took their turn to mock Hindu Gods. Suprakash Majumdar, a freelance journalist with The Wire tweeted that “Lord Hanuman had a gay crush Lord Rama.”

He tweeted “I think Hanuman had a gay crush on Ram. What do you guys think?”

Suchitra a journalist from The Hindu responded to the tweet in which she took a dig saying that Hindus will now and claim that they are the most tolerant religion and asked Majumdar to not give them ‘ammunition’.

Both Suprakash Majumder and Suchitra had worked with Congress mouth piece National Herald.

Netizens soon took objection to the tweets and started demanding action against the two.

Earlier, Srishti Jaiswal of Hindustan Times tweeted that Lord Krishna was a ‘womanizer’, ‘fuckboi’ and a ‘commitment phobic maniac’.

She was suspended from the news agency and later tendered an apology in which she said that she did not intend to hurt religious sentiments of anybody.

Both Majumder’s and Suchitra’s twitter account have been deactivated.

Portals like the The Wire frequently indulge in attacking Hinduism, Hindus and Hindu Festivals. The Wire had called Holi as a festival that perpetuated rape culture, Deebavali was attributed for rising air pollution and Jallikattu was called as an event of animal abuse and machismo.
