“I’ve Razed Down 3 Temples In My Constituency”: DMK MP TR Baalu Proudly Claims

DMK MP from Sriperumbudur Lok Sabha constituency proclaimed that he has razed down a hundred year old temple and three temples dedicated to Goddesses Lakshmi, Saraswati and Parvati in his constituency.

The Dravidar Kazhagam had organized a meeting on Friday (27 January 2023) at the temple city of Madurai in support of the Setu Samudram project which involves the razing down of Ramar Paalam (Ram Setu).

Speaking at the event, the DMK MP claimed “I’ve razed down a 100 year old temple, this very same TR Baalu. In my constituency, a Saraswati temple, Lakshmi temple and what is the other God’s name? Saraswati, Lakshmi and… ah, Parvathi temple! These 3 temples that was present in the GST Road was demolished by me.”

Adding further, the senior DMK leader said “I knew the vote will not come. But I also know how to get the votes. My comrades insisted me to not raze down the temple citing the votes will not come.”

He said that he had no choice but to demolish them but later managed to convince people that a better temple would be constructed.

Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) President KS Alagiri, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) head Thol. Thirumavalavan, Dravida Kazhagam President K. Veeramani, DMK Ministers Palanivel Thiagarajan and Moorthy were present on the stage as DMK MP TR Baalu made these claims.

Many on social media hit out at the DMK condemning the remarks of TR Baalu.

During his speech he also threatened to chop the hand of anyone who touches DK President Veeramani and DMK chief MK Stalin.

“I will not hesitate to chop off the hand of anyone touching my leader (Stalin) or ayya (Veeramani). This is my dharma. If you feel this is not right, then you can go to court and say so. But by then, I would have done the deed,” Baalu said with a smirk.
