Islamo-leftist, Alt News co-founder, alleged fact-checker Mohammad Zubair and Cockroach Party spokesperson advocate Ratna Singh were caught circulating a fake notice falsely claiming that the Delhi Police was using Facial Recognition System (FRS) technology to identify and restrict individuals during protests.
The controversy began after advocate Ratna Singh shared what she claimed was a Delhi Police notice alleging that an individual had been identified through CCTV footage and Facial Recognition System (FRS) records for being present near Jantar Mantar and Connaught Place during the enforcement of prohibitory orders.
The purported notice directed the recipient to submit a written explanation within 48 hours, prohibited them from leaving the National Capital Territory of Delhi without prior permission, claimed that their devices were under surveillance with “24 hours location access,” and warned of legal consequences for non-compliance.
Sharing the notice on X, Ratna Singh questioned the Delhi Police, asking why it was allegedly using facial recognition technology to “harass people” and unlawfully restrict their freedom of movement.
Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair amplified the claim by reposting Ratna Singh’s post with the caption, “As expected…”, further giving credibility to the allegation.
Delhi Police Issues Fact Check
Soon after the posts went viral, the Delhi Police officially debunked the claim, categorically stating that the notice was fake.
In a statement posted on its official X account, Delhi Police said:
“FACT CHECK: FAKE NOTICE. A fake notice purportedly issued by Delhi Police falsely claims that Delhi Police is using a facial recognition system to harass people and unlawfully restrict their freedom.”
The police further clarified:
“This claim is false and misleading. Delhi Police has not unlawfully detained any individual or restricted anyone’s freedom through the use of facial recognition technology. The viral notice is fake and has no authenticity.”
The force also urged the public not to believe or circulate the fabricated document and advised citizens to rely only on official communications.

‘Evidence’ Turns Out To Be Fake Gmail
After the Delhi Police rejected the claim, Ratna Singh attempted to defend her allegations by sharing what she claimed was the original email through which she had received the notice.
However, the screenshot she posted appeared to undermine her own case.
The email was shown to have originated from “delhipolicehoi@gmail.com” – a free Gmail account rather than an official Delhi Police email domain. Very similar to the Nidhi Razdan Harvard Uni scam.

It is noteworthy that official government communications are not issued from generic Gmail addresses.
Posts Quietly Deleted
Following the Delhi Police’s clarification and the exposure of the fake Gmail account, both Mohammed Zubair and Ratna Singh reportedly deleted their social media posts without issuing any public clarification or apology.
