Comrades of CPM’s youth wing DYFI attack BJP workers in Kerala, several injured

As the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) faces intense competition from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), goons belonging to the CPM physically attacked BJP candidates and their workers.

The convoy of the BJP leader Shobha Surendran was attacked by the CPM workers, leaving several injured. Shobha Surendran is the BJP candidate from the Kazhakoottam assembly constituency in Thiruvananthapuram district. The attackers recklessly ran motorbikes in an attempt to run over the workers in the convoy.

As per reports, the assailants belong to the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), the youth wing of CPM.

Once done with the attack, the DYFI members took shelter inside the CPM booth office. The police reortedly did not take any action against those who were involved in the attack, even after BJP workers launched a strong protest outside the CPM booth office.
