Chinese National who entered India without proper documentation, arrested in Bihar

Jio Jiang Shi, a 39-yr-old Chinese National, was arrested by Sahashtra Seema Pal Police in Madhwapur area of Madhubani district in Bihar. Jio Jiang Shi, a Chinese National, identified as a resident of Fujian Province on the Southern Coast of China, entered India via the Indo-Nepal border, without proper documentation. Sources from Security agencies say that the Chinese National came with a pan card, a Nepali Visa and a mobile phone.

On Friday (17th Dec), he was detained at the Gandhi Chowk Market in Madhwapur, near Pillar 295/2, the international border. SSB has an open border between India and Nepal. SSB officers detained him there as his activities were suspicious.  The fact that he was holding the Pan Card in his hand raised suspicions. Sources said that he could not submit any document regarding his entry into India.

The SSB handed him over to the local police. He was duly arrested and imprisoned. Apart from the Investigation Division, the Special Investigation Bureau also interrogated him. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MEA) has also been informed about the suspected Chinese National. Chandra Sehgar, SSB Commandant, 14th Battalion said that the arrested Chinese National knew English.

In the past, foreigner illegally crossing the International borders in Madhubani, were arrested. A major portion of Northern Bihar shares a border with Nepal. From a security standpoint, the region is very sensitive because China is not far away.
