Political Drama Unfolds In Telugu States: Tantrums In Telangana Congress, Capital Relocation Delay In Andhra Pradesh

The Telugu states continue to offer political entertainment in the run-up to their upcoming state elections. Telangana is set for its elections before the end of this year, while Andhra Pradesh is gearing up for polls in June next year.

In Hyderabad, the Telangana state Congress unit became the subject of public ridicule due to the loud and dramatic displays of leaders throwing tantrums when they discovered that their names did not appear in the first list of finalized candidates for the upcoming state elections.

Meanwhile, in neighboring Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister Jagan Reddy continues to provide weekly entertainment with his frequent confrontations with the state’s judiciary and opposition leaders. Additionally, there is news of yet another postponement of his ambitious plan to relocate the state’s capital from its current location in Amaravati (Vijayawada-Guntur region) to Vishakapatnam city.

In Telangana, the Congress party faced embarrassment as some prominent leaders publicly criticized the leadership of the state unit under Revanth Reddy. They even shed tears and delivered emotionally charged speeches upon realizing that they were denied tickets in their preferred constituencies in the initial candidate list. Their grievances highlight the ongoing infighting within the party and center on two main issues:

  1. Revanth Reddy’s appointment as president of the state unit in June 2021 bypassed several lifelong Congress members and senior leaders. After Telangana’s bifurcation from the larger undivided state of Andhra Pradesh in 2014, Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP party shifted its focus primarily to the Andhra region, prompting several TDP leaders from the Telangana region to join the Congress party. Despite joining the Congress party in 2017, Revanth Reddy is still considered an “outsider” and viewed with suspicion by the Congress party’s established members.
  2. Senior leaders and party loyalists are unhappy that tickets for their constituencies were given to recent newcomers and defectors from the ruling BRS party shortly before this year’s elections.

Some of the disappointed Congress leaders chose to publicly express their views rather dramatically instead of raising their concerns discreetly in closed-door meetings. This public display of dissent follows another significant political development – the resignation of former TPCC chief and backward classes (BC) leader Ponnala Lakshmiah, who left the Congress party last week, citing disrespectful treatment of BC leaders, including senior BC members who had been with the party for over thirty years. Lakshmiah had served as a state minister in previous Congress governments in the larger undivided state of Andhra Pradesh.

The Congress party in the state appeared to gain momentum since August, particularly after the BJP’s state president and firebrand leader, Bandi Sanjay, was relieved of his state post and given a broader national role. However, with the release of the first list of approved candidates, the Congress party’s internal conflicts have come to the forefront again. This lack of unity and the public display of anti-party sentiments could potentially benefit the incumbent BRS party, which already holds an advantage over other parties in the state and aims for a third consecutive win in Telangana.

On October 16, Andhra Pradesh celebrated the opening of a new branch of the software giant Infosys in Vishakapatnam city. Chief Minister Jagan Reddy, a leader of the YSRCP, inaugurated the new Infosys office. Political analysts viewed Jagan’s involvement in the inauguration as an attempt to portray himself as progressive and tech-savvy in order to attract the attention of Andhra’s youth. These young voters still regard Chandrababu Naidu, from the TDP, as a leader with a forward-looking vision who had incentivized and invited the IT industry to the undivided Andhra Pradesh state over two decades ago.

While Jagan’s inauguration of a new Infosys office in Vishakapatnam may have gained him some political mileage, the excitement was dampened by ongoing uncertainty regarding the official capital city of Andhra. The state has been in the process of building a new capital since its separation from Telangana in 2014.

Following his usual style, Jagan announced through his close aides that his proposal to shift the state’s capital from the planned and already-under-construction Amaravati city in the centrally located Vijayawada-Guntur region to the Eastern coastal city of Vishakapatnam had been postponed once again. In his previous attempt to relocate the capital (after multiple such announcements over the last three years), Jagan had declared that he would move his office in October in time for Dussera. However, his team now claims that the CM plans to move his office and residence in December instead.

Jagan has been announcing his impractical plans for the last three to four years, yet there has been no confirmation of the implementation of his controversial proposal. A significant reason for the continuous postponement of his plan to shift the capital city is the fact that his proposal has been challenged by the general public in both the A.P High Court and the Supreme Court, both of which have not shown keen interest in Jagan’s unusual proposal, which would unnecessarily burden the state’s finances.

Most Andhra residents believe that the primary reasons behind Jagan’s proposal to relocate the state’s new capital are:

  1. Jagan’s personal vendetta against his chief opponent, Chandrababu Naidu, and the TDP party. The TDP had won the previous elections and had chosen Amaravati as Andhra’s new capital after the state’s division in 2014. Amaravati is centrally located, providing quick access to Andhra’s residents from all corners of the state. It is also near a developed corridor of the state, in the vicinity of both Vijayawada and Guntur cities, which would enable the new capital to establish itself quickly with higher growth opportunities. In contrast, Vishakapatnam is a large port city on the Eastern coast of Andhra, far in the North, requiring lengthy travel for people from the Western and Southern parts of Andhra.
  2. Vishakapatnam or Vizag was envisioned by the TDP as a hub for the IT industry and related fields while preserving the sensitive ecology of its coastal, Eastern Ghats location. It is widely believed that Jagan Reddy and his top aides have acquired thousands of hectares of land in the Visakhapatnam suburbs. They aim to maximize returns on their investment by building a capital there, despite ecological concerns raised by bodies like the NGT (National Green Tribunal).

While most residents of Andhra agree with Naidu’s rationale for choosing Amaravati as the new capital, Jagan’s personal vendetta against his political rival is pushing him to make irrational decisions about relocating an already planned and under-construction capital to Vizag.

To further complicate matters, Jagan has proposed three different capital cities for the state, one each for the Legislative, Judiciary, and Executive branches of the government, located in three different corners of the state.

Narikuravar Man Denied Entry Into A2B Hotel Whose Owner Had Glorified EVR For “Opening Up” Hotel Industries To All Castes

A2B (Adyar Ananda Bhavan) finds itself embroiled in one controversy after another after its owner KT Srinivasa Raja glorified controversial Dravidian ideologue E.V. Ramasamy Naicker (hailed as ‘Periyar’ by his followers), who is known for his vicious hatred towards Hindus and Hindu Gods and had even called for the genocide of Tamil Brahmin community.

Film personality-turned-YouTuber Chitra Lakshmanan had interviewed Managing Director of Adyar Ananda Bhavan KT Srinivasa Raja.

In the interview Chitra Lakshmanan asks, “At one point in time, the hotel industry especially the restaurants especially vegetarian ones were run by Iyers and then it started changing, what do you think is the reason for it?” to which the Adyar Ananda Bhavan owner replied “Anyone can do anything – the main reason for this change is Thanthai Periyar. He is the one who brought change to the hereditary profession (kulathozhil). Anyone can do any job/take up any profession. Times were changing, governments were providing loans and banks also supported people. A profession that was done by a particular community is now being done by anyone and everyone. It’s like anyone can go to the sea and fish.”

This comment of the A2B owner glorifying EVR who had spewed venom on Hindus and Hindu Gods did not go well with many calling for the outlet’s boycott.

https://twitter.com/Devi_Uvacha/status/1715406285707825194

In light of this controversy, an incident has come to light that has made people to call out the virtue-signaling of the A2B owner.

Tamil Facebook channel PoliTalks had embarked on an attempt to do a vlog for their channel when they spotted a poor Narikuravar (Scheduled Tribe) man trying to make ends meet for a meal. One of the person from PoliTalks, Vignesh Vasudev, had gone to the poor man and offered to get him food and a sweet box since it was Navratri. Incidentally, they went to the Adyar Ananda Bhavan outlet at Anna Nagar, Chennai. Apparently, the Narikuravar man refrained himself from coming into the hotel and stood hesitantly at a corner. While Vignesh managed to assure the Narikuravar man that he would be with him and convinced him to enter the hotel, he was stopped by the staff of the A2B outlet.

As soon as they saw him entering the hotel, A2B staff told him in a threatening tone to stay outside and take whatever was given to him“, Vignesh explained in a video.

Vignesh apparently pitched in and told the A2B staff that he only brought him along to get him a sweet box and said that he won’t bother anyone by sitting inside.

To Vignesh’s appeal, the A2B staff claimed that “not everybody can enter inside” the A2B hotel.

Allegedly, the threatening and rude behaviour of the staff made the Narikuravar man feel vexed. He was about to leave the place without having food or taking anything with him. Despite Vignesh trying to convince him to have lunch with him inside, he felt unwelcomed and was hesitant to climb up the stairs and come to the dining area.

This is not the stairs of any temple. It is the stairs of a hotel whose owner speaks of ‘Periyarism.‘”, Vignesh said in the video.

A shop owned by a person who speaks about social justice, seems to be stuck 150 years ago. Treating a fellow human being as an equal is only social justice isn’t it? Or is social justice all about singing paeans about Periyar in front of camera?“, Vignesh asked in the video.

Many on social media have shared this expose by PoliTalks lambasting the A2B owner for not practicing what he preaches.

RSS Sends Contempt Notice To TN Govt Officials For Not Obeying Madras HC Order On Route March Issue

RSS Pathasanchalan

Despite the Madras High Court directing the DMK government in Tamil Nadu to give permission to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to carry out its procession march, the district administration of Nilgiris and many other districts have not given permission yet for the route march supposed to be held on 22 October 2023.

The Madras High Court in a strong observation noted that the Tamil Nadu state government is willfully opposing the RSS route march. The court observed, “The rejection order passed subsequently clearly shows that the State has no intention to permit this Organization to conduct the Rally on 22.10.2023 or 29.10.2023. The reasons stated in their rejection order are not pertinent to the inconvenience of the State to provide protection particular date or time but on the general reasons which will always be in existence at all point in the entire 365 days of the year.”

The Court further declared that the State’s rejection orders did not align with the principles of secular and democratic governance.

Specifically, the Court addressed the DMK government’s objection concerning the presence of Mosques and Churches along the procession route, stating, “The rejection of the RSS’s procession and public meeting request based on the existence of these structures, places of worship of different religions, or offices of organizations with differing ideologies is inconsistent with the fundamental principle of Secularism, upon which the Indian Constitution is built.

In light of the above order, an RSS worker in the Nilgiris has served a contempt notice to the Tamil Nadu home secretary, the DGP, and the district superintendent of police, alleging their failure to approve a requested route march, as sanctioned by the Madras High Court.

In the notice, R Thiagarajan explained that he had initially approached the Nilgiris police on September 13 to seek permission for an RSS route march scheduled for October 22, followed by a public gathering. He stated that on 11 October 2023, the Nilgiris district superintendent of police sent Thiagarajan a set of questions regarding the proposed event. Despite him providing responses to all the queries, his application was ultimately denied, the notice says.

On October 16, the High Court issued a collective order instructing the Tamil Nadu police to grant permission for such marches under reasonable conditions.

However, despite the court’s directive, the Tamil Nadu police have yet to grant permission for the march. In light of this, Thiagarajan’s legal counsel has expressed their intention to initiate contempt proceedings should the court’s order continue to be disregarded, and they are seeking permission for the route march scheduled for 22 October 2023.

“DMK IT Wing Is The Most Intelligent IT Wing In The Country”: DMK Scion Udhayanidhi Stalin Says

DMK President and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin’s son, Udhayanidhi Stalin, who is also a Minister in his father’s cabinet and is also the Secretary of the DMK Youth Wing, participated in the “social media influencers” meeting held by the DMK IT Wing in Chennai.

The meeting of DMK IT wing executives, known as ‘Wing 2.0’ was held for two days (October 20-21, 2023) at Chennai’s St. George Anglo Indian School.

Reportedly, around 1000 IT Wing functionaries from various levels – city, block, zonal and district – from across Tamil Nadu, took part in this meeting.

The meeting was organized by DMK IT Wing head and Mannargudi DMK MLA TRB Rajaa (DMK MP TR Baalu’s son) who is also the Industries Minister of Tamil Nadu. Several other DMK leaders including Thousand Lights Ezhilan Naganathan, Anna Nagar MLA MK Mohan, DMK IT Wing Joint Secretary Mahendran, too participated in the meeting.

DMK Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin had come to the meeting with cooling glass as his eyes were swollen, presumably due to conjunctivitis.

Addressing the DMK IT wing functionaries, Udhayanidhi Stalin said that the DMK IT Wing operates as the most intelligent IT wing in the country.

“The Dravidian Movement is a movement that places importance on both science and politics. Regrettably, some political parties engage in slander using the pretext of their IT Wing. In contrast, DMK’s IT Wing operates as the most intelligent IT wing in the country. I offer my sincere regards to all of you and extend my congratulations.”, he reportedly said.

He said that the DMK IT wing executives excel not only in the realm of social media but also on the ground. He urged them to collaborate effectively with all team members saying that the present time demands that IT wing executives act swiftly and so everyone should recognize their responsibility and take appropriate action.

The DMK scion said that those individuals who spread slander about the DMK government on social media should be exposed with concrete evidence.

As we approach the parliamentary elections, it’s expected that the BJP and AIADMK will strategize and attempt to slander us. It’s the duty of our IT wing administrators to overcome these challenges. We must expose the harmful intentions of the Modi government at the center, as well as the hardships faced by the people due to their policies.“, he reportedly said.

Ambani everywhere.. Adani in everything, Manipur is burning, corruption in everything, unsafe situation of women in BJP ruled states, take these matters to the people.“, he added.

He also advised the crowd saying that unlike the IT wings of BJP and AIADMK, the DMK IT wing must refrain from posting slanderous and indecent comments.

“We will act with duty, dignity and discipline in the way of Anna and say get out to Modi regime”, he said.

Netizens Troll DMK

Many DMK critics on social media took a jibe at the DMK Minister’s remarks pointing out the irony between their words and action.

In the above tweet, Jeyachandran DMK, a very active DMK IT wing functionary who indulges in abuse and slander of woman had targeted Naam Tamilar Katchi head Seeman in which he shared a picture of Panimalar Panneerselvam (a Dravidianist) making a cuss word in Tamil.

This was called out by Panimalar, a DMK supporter herself and called for action against the DMK IT wing functionary.

Many others too called out the vile tweets of the DMK IT wing functionary.

In another instance, DMK MLA Abdulla had used abusive language on political commentator Savukku Shankar saying “Savukku Shankar is claiming that the Chinnamalai IT team photoshopped him to look like a pimp. If the Chinnamalai IT team had done it, they would have depicted him as a prostitute in the Marina beach background, demanding ₹5 for hand j*b and ₹10 for blowj*b.

New Guided Missile Destroyer ‘Imphal’ Handed Over To Indian Navy

In a significant milestone showcasing the country’s commitment to the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ (self-reliant India) initiative, the Indian Navy took delivery of the Project 15B guided missile destroyer, Imphal, today. This marks a notable achievement in indigenous shipbuilding and fortifying India’s maritime capabilities in the Indian Ocean region, especially as China continues to expand its influence in the area.

INS Imphal (D 68) belongs to the Visakhapatnam-class stealth-guided missile destroyer. It was christened in honor of the Indian soldiers who valiantly fought in the Battle of Imphal during World War II.

Imphal, the third Project 15B stealth-guided missile destroyer, was constructed at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders in Mumbai and was officially handed over to the Indian Navy on October 20, 2023. This event bolsters India’s pursuit of self-sufficiency in defense manufacturing and maritime dominance. Imphal joins the Indian Navy’s fleet, following the commissioning of her predecessors, INS Visakhapatnam and INS Mormugao, in the past two years.

Designed by the Indian Navy’s Warship Design Bureau, this vessel has a displacement of 7,400 tons and an overall length of 164 meters. Imphal is a versatile weapons platform equipped with a range of weaponry and sensors, including surface-to-air missiles, anti-ship missiles, and torpedoes. The ship is powered by a Combined Gas and Gas (COGAG) propulsion system consisting of four gas turbines, enabling it to reach speeds of over 30 knots (56 km per hour).

It is worth noting that approximately 75% of its components are made in India. These include medium-range surface-to-air missiles from BEL in Bangalore, BrahMos surface-to-surface missiles by BrahMos Aerospace in New Delhi, indigenous torpedo tube launchers crafted by Larsen & Toubro in Mumbai, anti-submarine indigenous rocket launchers also from Larsen & Toubro, and a 76mm super rapid gun mount manufactured by BHEL in Haridwar.

Under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative, India has developed the capability to build ships tailored to specific requirements. This initiative reduces dependence on spares from foreign suppliers and allows for easier maintenance, repair, and overhaul in domestic facilities.

The keel for INS Imphal was laid on May 19, 2017, and the ship was launched into the water on April 20, 2019. Following its maiden sea trials on April 28, 2023, and a series of harbor and sea trials, the vessel was delivered within six months.

The Indian government, under Aatmanirbhar Bharat, has displayed a strong intent to minimize dependence on foreign defense imports and promote a robust domestic defense industry. The induction of the Imphal destroyer is the result of collaborative efforts from various indigenous stakeholders, marking a significant step toward enhancing India’s maritime strength and influence in the strategically vital Indian Ocean region.

Imphal’s technology, indigenous components, and construction are a testament to India’s commitment to self-sufficiency in defense manufacturing. This vessel is poised to play a crucial role in safeguarding India’s maritime interests.

BJP TN Leader Amar Prasad Reddy Arrested By TN Police

The DMK government in Tamil Nadu seems to be going on a witch hunt against the BJP.

Following the removal of BJP flagpole outside BJP Tamil Nadu President K. Annamalai’s residence in Chennai, the Tamil Nadu police on 21 October 2023 arrested the party’s Sports and Skill Development Cell President Amar Prasad Reddy.

He was reportedly arrested in connection with the attacking and damaging of a JCB machine that was brought to remove the flag pole in Chennai.

A video posted on social media shows Amar Prasad Reddy being taken into custody by police officials from his residence.

Amar Prasad Reddy is also the joint coordinator of Annamalai’s En Mann En Makkal (My land, My people) yatra which has been garnering an unprecedented response across the state.

After Tamil Nadu police laid siege to BJP Tamil Nadu President K. Annamalai’s house in Chennai, Amar Prasad Reddy lambasted the DMK government on his social media.

Mr. Annamalai’s residence located at Panaiyur, Chennai has a tall BJP flag post just adjacent to the compound of the house.

According to BJP functionary Vivin Bhaskaran, a few local groups had opposed the installation and hoisting of the BJP flag.

BJP Tamil Nadu’s State Treasurer S.R. Sekhar in his social media post alleged that a 100 people belonging to the Muslim community had  gathered opposite Annamalai’s house and protested for the removal of the flagpole.

Hundreds of police and officials had come and a crane was used to bring down the tall BJP flagpole. According to sources present at the site, police initially called both the parties for talks but later resorted to lathi charge on BJP cadres. BJP functionary Vivin Bhaskaran was grievously injured and a video of him being carried by police officials has gone viral on social media.

Posting a picture of Vivin Bhaskaran, Amar Prasad Reddy said “BJP IT Wing State Secretary Vivin Bhaskaran was severely injured in yesterday’s protest to save the BJP flag pole. Tamil Nadu Police have become the agents of DMK.

Here are few other posts where he had targeted the DMK and MK Stalin government.

Democratization Of TN Hotel Industry Happened Not Because Of EVR But Because Of LPG

It was considered a sin for Hindus to sell food till 20th century. The tradition of Annadhanam, the practice of providing free food to the hungry, was deeply rooted in Hindu culture for centuries. Annadhanam was done by charities and the affluent took care of the hungry and the tired. Several people with dharmic mindset hoisted Anna Kodi at their homes and did Annadhanam every day. My great great grandfather home at Cheranmahadevi in Tirunelveli district hoisted one such flag for centuries till his death.

With British dismantling our systems, many charities crumbled and so did the habit of annadhanam. With people travelling inter city becoming frequent and with the charities crumbling, hotels both for eating and lodging emerged in the beginning of 20th century. A new concept.

Bus stand hotels emerged. A small hotel serving food at very low price either sitting on the floor or old bench and stool was the norm then. Along with such hotels, IRR hotels or the canteens at Railway stations too emerged serving high quality food at very affordable prices. Old timers still recall Chandra Vilas franchisees at Railway stations of Southern Railway and many iconic IRRs at popular railway junctions like Shoranur, Waltair, Guntakal, Vizhupuram.

Yes, most vegetarian hotels were run by Brahmins as pointed out by the A2B owner KT Srinivasa Raja. No denial of fact. They were the first movers. Many took up the profession just to come out of poverty. Unlike the other so-called “forward castes” who had the luxury of owning lands, Brahmins did not have that luxury. With no patronage from government, poor Brahmins fell back on cooking, serving and table cleaning to support their families. Hotel industry was a low margin business then as charging high was a sin. One has to slog 24*7 in the kitchen breathing smoke unlike hotel owners travelling in Benz now.

This story continued for decades till 1980s. The industry remained unattractive that none bothered to start a hotel to slog in coal and smoke dust. You can see the ambience of such old hotels to this day. Dark like a dungeon but the food is heaven.

There is an eatery called Hotel Sri Ganapathy Vilas located along the Chennai-Trichy highway in Acharappakkam. That hotel is a living testimony to the point that I am making here. It was started in 1963. You get transported back to that period once you enter the hotel. Such is the ambience which is very modest. The price of the food too is modest. Their eatery sees good business through word-of-mouth even to this day. Foodies can checkout the hotel here.

Anybody who has eaten at Madura Lodge in Trichy or Chandra Vilas in Tirunelveli can also relate to the point being made.

Then came the era of LPG – Liberalization, Privatization, Globalization. Prosperity zoomed and people’s buying power increased dramatically. There were takers for a 50 paisa idly sold at ₹5. There were takers for posh ambience too. Show the ambience and extract consumer premium, that became the mantra of for the new hotels emerging.

Margins expanded from 5% to 80% with the ability to extract consumer surplus – What was an undesirable biz became sexy with everyone jumping in and making it big. Rest is history.

This is the actual story.

It is sad to see the rich entrepreneur dragging EVR into this and portraying as though Brahmins prevented others and monopolized. He himself acknowledges his dad learnt the art of cooking from a Brahmin and it was well known that the other big chain Hotel Saravana Bhavan too had a Brahmin working partner.

That being the case, attributing this to EVR (hailed as ‘Periyar’ by his followers) and bringing kulathozhil (hereditary profession) angle and vilifying Brahmins is uncalled for!

(Nanmozhian is an entrepreneur based out of Chennai.)

Theemai Kadhaigal: TN BJP Brings Back Anniyan To Expose Dravidian Model Of Healthcare

The Tamil Nadu BJP has released a video titled “Theemai Kadhaigal”, in which it hit out at the DMK over the plight of the medical infrastructure in the state and its failure to fulfill promises it made during the elections.

The video revives the character of ‘Anniyan’, a vigilante character from a movie of the same name who fights against corruption.

The video shows how Tamil Nadu which was once the cradle of medical science in the ancient times has now degenerated into a state where medical negligence is the order of the day. It highlighted how DMK leaders and Ministers get treated at Kauvery Hospital while poor people get sub-standard treatment at government hospitals.

The history of medicine is as old as history of human clan. Inscriptions of Chola period mention the existence of hospitals and medical colleges in Tamil Nadu. Siddha medicine took root in Bharat through sages like Agasthiyar, Thirumoolar, Bogar etc. Surgeries were performed in Tamil Nadu during the Satyug Period. Tamil Nadu had reached great heights in the field of medicine with a very strong infranstructure. But today? When Muthuvel Karunanidhi took oath as  the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. People who believed that Tamil Nadu will move forward on the path of development, do not know that all the sectors are going to face heavy downfall.” it said.

The video points out instances of medical negligence that happened in the state. Many of these instances were highlighted by The Commune in an article dated 29 September 2023.

On 25 September 2023, five babies were still born over two days at Kallakurichi district medical college hospital.

On 14 June 2023, a complaint was raised that a woman had died due to lack of doctors in Thiruvarur government hospital.

On 24 September 2023, in an incident near Annoor, in Coimbatore, a woman tragically died due to failure of doctors to attend delivery on time.

On 15 November 2023, football player Priya who lost her legs due to wrong treatment eventually died.

On 31 December 2023, a one and half year old child from Ramanathapuram had right arm amputated due to improper treatment and died finally. Her mother said, “If the doctor had been there for those three days, my child wouldn’t have lost an arm and I wouldn’t have lost my child today.

The video alleged that in the DMK regime, the health department under Ma. Subramanian has been virtually non-functioning. It noted even the basic facilities in government hospitals in Tamil Nadu are improper.

The National Medical Commission has revoked the recognition of three colleges owned by the Tamil Nadu government owing to the colleges lacking proper infrastructure. At that time it was noted that the CCTV cameras and biometric system were not in place. However, the DMK Health Minister had said that it was an issue that can be fixed in half an hour.

Does the Minister realize that this takes only half an hour to repair after the recognition was rejected?“, the video asks.

The video then goes on to show how even DMK ministers rely on private hospitals with visuals of DMK Minister Senthil Balaji getting admitted to hospital complaining chest pain during ED arrest.

When DMK members fall ill, they turn to Kauvery Hospital. What about the less privileged individuals who rely on government hospitals?“, the Anniyan in the video asks

The video also pointed out the seemingly apathetic response of the DMK Health Minister that came against the backdrop of a shocking incident where a woman who went to the Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital for an angio treatment had to get her arm amputated allegedly due to medical negligence of the doctors.

The Anniyan in the video also pointed out how when the Chief Minister and the Health Minister were walking, they were discussing about Udhayanidhi Stalin’s film “Kalaga Thalaivan” instead of how things are functioning under the health department.

The Chief Minister had asked, “How is the film going? Have you seen it?” to which Health Minister Ma. Subramanian replies “Ah, I saw it on the first day. The report is good. Yes, it is very good. Usually,  at least one person gets up and walks out when a song plays it in a theatre but not in this movie. Film making is good.

We used to be the capital of the medical science. But today we are using paper cups as masks due to lack of oxygen masks. Using mobile phone torches for treatment due to lack of electricity. This kind of disgrace is happening only in Tamil Nadu. The quality of government hospitals is deteriorating.“, the video says.

The video also points out how the DMK has been doing politics over NEET by making false promises.

The recent protest by nurses were also highlighted over the DMK not fulfilling its promise number 356 in its manifesto.

The rich and the influential get the better treatment. while the poor people get very poor treatment. The loss of lives due to DMK Government’s medical negligence has become a casual occurrence. The medical mismanagement is happening here is continuing like a contagious disease. Only poor people are affected in every medical death. The concern DMK shows for a person’s vote. Why don’t they care for their lives? Now tell, will you tell them their punishment, at the polling station? #RejectDMK“, the video ends.

TN Police Lay Siege To BJP TN Head Annamalai’s House, BJP Flagpole Outside His House Removed Allegedly After Opposition From Local Islamists

Tensions gripped on the wee hours of 21 October 2023 when police troops laid siege to BJP Tamil Nadu President K. Annamalai’s house and removed the BJP flag post placed outside his residence in Chennai.

A report by Tamil Web Dunia noted that the BJP flagpole was seen as a threat by local Islamists in the area.

A few reports quoting officials said that flagpole was located on the highways department road and did not have permission thereby warranting action.

However, local BJP activists noted that a DMK flagpole was just a few metres away and asked why it has not been removed.

It is to be noted that social activist Jayaram Venkatesan of Arappor Iyakkam had pointed out that a flagpole was erected encroaching the Whites Road in heart of Chennai.

After coming to know of the news, hundreds of BJP workers assembled outside Mr. Annamalai’s residence and started protesting. According to sources present at the site, police initially called both the parties for talks but later resorted to lathi charge on BJP cadres. Many courted arrested. Hundreds of police and government officials later laid siege to Annamalai’s house causing commotion. According to sources present at the site, police initially called both the parties for talks but later resorted to lathi charge on BJP cadres. Many courted arrested.

The flagpole was brought down later using a crane.

BJP Tamil Nadu Vice President Karu Nagarajan lashed out at the DMK government saying that the it is making attempts to curb the party’s growth. He said that when there are so many flagpoles of different parties, targeting the BJP flagpole was nothing but cheap politics. He said that the ruling government was hellbent on removing the flagpole of the BJP which did not even have the flag.

BJP functionary Vivin Bhaskaran was grievously injured and a video of him being carried by police officials has gone viral on social media.

Tributes Pour In For Melmaruvathur’s Bangaru Adigalar, Funeral Conducted With Full State Honours

Spiritual Guru Bangaru Adigalar, known for introducing groundbreaking changes that enabled women to conduct religious ceremonies in the inner sanctums of Shakti temples, passed away on Thursday (19 October 2023) due to health issues.
