ABVP Demands Apology From DMK Govt For Insult To National Flag During Pak-Afg Match In Chepauk

The Akila Bharatha Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has strongly denounced the deplorable incident where the Indian national flag was thrown into a dustbin during the recent Pakistan Vs Afghanistan cricket match at the M.A. Chidambaram Chepauk Stadium in Chepauk, Chennai.

It was reported that ticket-holding spectators to the Pakistan versus Afghanistan world cup match at the Chepauk stadium were prevented from carrying the Indian tricolour with them.

According to a report by News Tamil 24×7,  one of the police officials dumped the seized Indian flags into a dustbin which enraged the people. Later, the same police official took the flag from the bin and kept it inside his car.

On the other hand, those wearing Pakistani team t-shirts have been allowed inside the stadium notes the News Tamil 24×7 report.

In an official statement, the ABVP remarked, “Today’s incident reminds us of the mistreatment our athletes faced in the past in foreign lands, which is disheartening to witness happening on our own soil. The national flag is a symbol of immense importance, representing the unity and integrity of our nation. Consequently, any act of disrespect towards it is unacceptable and contradicts the core values of our nation.

Yagyvalkya Shukla, the national general secretary of ABVP, emphasized, “This issue cannot be treated lightly. It is deeply embarrassing and shameful to witness such disrespect towards our national flag. ABVP remains steadfast in its commitment to preserving the sanctity of the Tricolour and preventing any tarnishing of our nation’s honor. ABVP demands the strictest action against the responsible police officers for this grave offense and calls on the DMK government to issue an apology to the people of India.

The ABVP chapter of North Tamil Nadu has urged that the DMK government should apologize and strict action be taken on the police official who insulted the flag. In its press release, it stated that the insult to the Indian national flag happened when the police department comes under the ambit of the DMK government headed by MK Stalin and the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) which is helmed by the DMK Minister Ponmudi’s son Ashok Sigamani.

The ABVP said that they would carry out protests across the country condemning the insult to the Indian national flag.

Kerala Govt To Create ‘Islam in Kerala’ Microsite To Woo ‘Tourists’, Agenda And Historical Accuracy Questioned

P. A. Mohammed Riyas, son-in-law of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, and the Minister for Public Works & Tourism in Communist-ruled Kerala, is set to create a microsite on ‘Islam in Kerala’ with the aim of promoting tourism in the state, as reported by The Hindu.

The purpose of this microsite is to provide tourists with insights into the historical roots of Islam in Kerala, and for this digital production project, a budget of ₹93.8 lakh has been allocated. A senior official from Kerala Tourism emphasized the rich historical and cultural significance of Islam in Kerala, tracing its origins back to the 7th century. The digital production seeks to shed light on the early years of Islam in the region, covering topics such as mosques, architectural heritage, lifestyle, culture, art forms, and festivals.

The aim of this project is to compile comprehensive information about the Islamic influence that has shaped Kerala over the centuries, with the goal of attracting religious scholars and historians to the state.

The Muslims of Kerala suffer from an identity crisis and this effort is clearly being made to show that Islam in Kerala and the Malabar coast is as old as Islam in Arabia.

Many say that this is nothing but an effort to promote Islam in Kerala using distorted history.

This effort may further solidify historically disputed claims, such as the Cheraman Mosque’s supposed dating back to the 7th century, which some consider a myth. As a result, concerns have arisen regarding the historical accuracy of the Kerala Tourism Minister’s microsite project, ‘Islam in Kerala.’

The microsite, titled ‘Islam in Kerala,’ will be structured into six chapters and intends to showcase it to both international and domestic tourists.

The first chapter will delve into the ‘History of Islam in Kerala,’ detailing how Islam established itself in Kerala through traders and their initial settlements along the Malabar coast.

In Chapter Two, the microsite will explore Islamic pilgrimage centers in the state, extending from Beemapally in Thiruvananthapuram to Juma Masjid in Kasaragod, featuring several ancient mosques that serve as pilgrimage destinations.

Chapter Three will focus on the culinary traditions of Muslims, particularly the Mappila cuisine, which is a fusion of Kerala, Persian, Yemeni, and Arabian culinary influences which is true.

The fourth chapter will highlight the community’s lifestyle, including attire worn during weddings and related ceremonies, with the aim of drawing tourists’ interest. However, this part can be contested as the attire worn during weddings and related ceremonies has now changed due to the influence of Arab culture which has now been inculcated by the Muslims in Kerala

Chapter Five will center on architecture, emphasizing the blend of Arabian traditions with indigenous construction techniques in Kerala, while the final chapter, Chapter Six, will explore the art forms and festivals of Muslims in Kerala, including the influence of Mappila songs, popular folklore that originated in the 16th century.

The initiative is in line with similar microsites created by Kerala Tourism on Christianity, Judaism, and temples in the state.

Regarding the historical background of the Cheraman Juma Mosque, there are differing accounts. Some myths claim it was built in the 7th century, but several scholars dispute this, suggesting a later date, possibly the 14th or 15th century, based on architectural style. According to the Cheraman Mosque’s website, Cheraman Perumal, the reigning King of Kerala with Kodungallur as its capital, converted to Islam towards the end of his life.

Before his passing, he wrote letters to local rulers in Malabar and entrusted them to his friends. When Malik Bin Dinar and his companions arrived in Kodungallur, they delivered the letters to the ruling chieftains, who granted permission to establish mosques in various places. The first mosque in India was constructed in Kodungallur, with Malik Bin Dinar serving as its first Ghazi.

The fact is in Kerala, Muslims claim that Cheraman Perumal converted to Islam before he died and Christians also make the claim that gives them historical veracity. Muslims say that Cheraman Perumal travelled to Mecca in 629 CE when Prophet Mohammad was alive and converted to Islam. At the same time, Christians claim Cheraman was very close to St. Thomas and had converted to Christianity and that he died in the house of St Thomas in Mylapore and not in Mecca.

Harmonizing Tradition And Modernity: An Insightful Interview With Multifaceted Artist Sivasri Skandaprasad

Try searching for ‘Sivasri Skandaprasad’ on Google and a Malayalam Manorama article pops up describing her as a ‘look alike’ of renowned dancer Shobana. Sivasri Skandaprasad too is a trained dancer. But she is not just that. She dons many hats as a carnatic vocalist, dancer, model, entrepreneur and an educationist.

Sivasri was born into a musical family. Her doting father Seerkazhi Sri J. Skandaprasad, who accompanies her for almost all performances and public appearances, is himself a renowned Mridangam Vidwan. She carries the heritage of her paternal lineage, being the granddaughter of the late Kalaimamani Seerkazhi R. Jayaraman, a well-established musician, and Smt. Shanthi Jayaraman, a renowned vocal accompanist for leading Bharatanatyam performers. On her maternal side, she is the granddaughter of the Thennangur Gnananandagiri Peetham, His Holiness Sri Namanandagiri Swamigal, a Namasankeerthanam exponent.

Sivasri holds a B.Tech degree in Bio-Engineering from SASTRA University, Thanjavur, and is currently pursuing an MA in Bharatanatyam from the University of Madras, alongside a Sanskrit degree from The Madras Sanskrit College.

But her academic pursuits get only a part of her time. She is in her element when she is performing, especially Namasankeerthanam.

The divinity within Sivasri Skandaprasad radiates through her face and reverberates through her voice. Her carnatic music recitals, are not just about churning out one rendition after another but carries with it a compelling narration that captures her audience.

She is trying to revive the age old Namasankeerthana tradition to spread Bhakti in streets. Recently, she was conferred the Ustad Bismillah Khan Award for culture by SMaRT (Samachar Manyata association for Research & Training).

Through this conversation, we get a glimpse into the mind and heart of an artist who has dedicated her life to music and bhakti. Join us as we uncover the symphony of Sivasri Skandaprasad’s journey.

The Commune: How did it all begin? (How did you end up where you are now, a brief introduction about  yourself and your journey)

Sivasri Skandaprasad: I was exposed to Carnatic music and Bharatanatyam very early, thanks to my family of  musicians and dancers. I was performing Bharatanatyam and giving concerts until Covid happened.  The pandemic transformed me into a musician from a dancer. I learnt so much and realised how  grounding the process was. My identity changed completely in just a year. That is when I realised the impact this transformation would have over a huge community of youngsters if oriented properly. Ahuti was born. I decided to make Ahuti into a transformative experience where the individuals who come aboard, mature into the best version of themselves with the help of cultural upliftment.

TC: We know you’re an artist and a budding entrepreneur. Tell us about a Sivasri whom we’re not  aware of.

SS: I spend quite a significant amount of time meditating. I believe it answers a lot of my questions. I also wish to call myself an eco-warrior, intending to bring about a lot of sustainability measures at home and around me and eventually build an environment sensitive community. I love travelling to different places and learning about their culture. And crazy about all vegetarian cuisines across the globe. Food makes me so happy.

TC: How do you balance your academic pursuits with your passion for music and dance? Isn’t it hectic?

SS: I have a lot of time, still, that my Appa thinks gets wasted. In spite of my academics, arts, and organisation, I am not doing justice to the time I still have left. I’m hoping to squeeze more work from myself so that I can utilise the remaining time 🙂

TC: What genres or styles within classical music do you enjoy performing the most, and why?

SS: I enjoy all genres of classical music. I would say I enjoy the Bhava across all genres. I enjoy Bhakti the most, with all other bhavas following after. Bhakti is all about surrender and I find solace in that complete surrender to God.

TC: You once posted a video of yourself in free hair, singing Arunagirinathar’s Tiruppugazh. While  many appreciated your singing, a few were focused on your hair. Time and again, whenever you  post a photo of yourself in modern attire, many come to your comments and tell you how you  should dress up. How do you find this moral policing? How do you strike a balance between  tradition and keeping up with the Gen-Z trend?

SS: Many a times tradition is confused with appearance. If there is someone clad in a saree, hair braided and decorated with flowers, with a bindi that is considered legit enough by a certain group  of pseudo-orthodox people, wearing basic jewellery (at least) and walks around with the clinking of anklets, they are considered traditional and only they are capable of Bhakti. Nobody cares if they actually host the core values of a true Hindu. This is the incorrect understanding of tradition, by multiple generations of egoistic and ignorant pseudo-conservatives, who are the sole reason for mass production of today’s wokes and liberals. One doesn’t stop being a bhakta or a true Hindu  because of their outward appearance. How we dress, how we make ourselves presentable, has been evolving with time, and the best way is to keep up with the times. Fashion is changing everyday. And there is something great in making it our own, while we are still the same hard core Bharatiya, within.

TC: There is always this criticism that carnatic music is an area by the Brahmins for the Brahmins. Your thoughts?

SS: Music doesn’t know the Sādhaka, It knows only the sādhana. Music belongs to all, irrespective  of the genre. Carnatic music is an acquired talent for the Brahmin community. According to history,  South Indian classical music was learnt and performed by PāNars, isai vellaLars and devadasis in  temples, as an offering to the deity. They were and still continue to be natural musicians. There is a tendency to associate anything with a structure and grammar with Brahmins (Carnatic) and  anything free flowing, with the rest (Folk), which is erroneous. If one can learn with sincerity, put in  the hours of Sadhana the art demands, and excel in the same, then music is theirs.

TC: Do you think today’s youngsters lack spiritual quotient and are drifting away from Indian traditions and culture?

SS: Yes, a considerable section of the youth lack spiritual quotient. In fact it is a serious concern  today, that Indian art (Bharatiya Kala) and divinity are being viewed as two mutually exclusive  concepts. This needs to be nipped in the bud and the divinity of this land’s tradition and culture must be restored.

TC: Tell us about Ahuti

SS: Ahuti is an organisation, conceived primarily for nation building. It is to develop the youth of  Bharat into highly disciplined, self-reliant, and culturally strong individuals. We aim to transform  the young of this country during this Amritkaal. Making Bharat the modern Vishwaguru, is possible only through its culture and spirituality. Hence, besides education, scientific innovations, economy,  sports and politics, it is the cultural and spiritual youth of the nation, that hold the invisible reigns of  this Dharm rath. Ahuti aims to achieve this in Godspeed as it is the need of the hour.

TC: You’ve many fans. But whose fan are you? Are there any artists, both classical and contemporary, who inspire your work? Who do you look up to?

SS: Every artiste is unique. I learn and take inspiration from everyone around. As my Guru once  said, we should absorb the good thoughts, intentions and actions even if it is from a toddler and  reject negativity even if it is from the elders. So yeah. I’m a fan of anyone whose intentions are  good.

TC: Who is your biggest critic?

SS: I am my biggest critic. Mostly ruthless, as I know my strengths and weaknesses better than  anyone else. I, consistently try to be a better version of myself, so that I don’t look back and regret  my actions or inactions.

TC: Recently you had posted a birthday wish for PM Modi exalting him. Is Sivasri political? Is there an aspiring Parliamentarian inside Sivasri?

I admire my PM Modiji for his relentless service towards Bharat. He is setting an example to the young of Bharat. By wishing him for his birthday, I just prayed to God, to bless this Tapasvi of a leader with a long life. Every eligible citizen of Bharat elects their leader, and I’m one of them. So in a way everyone is political. Apart from this, I have nothing to do with active politics. I am a performing artist and an educationist.

Puthiya Thalaimurai Deputy Chief Of Bureau Peddles Lies About Agniveer Pension Aids; Deletes Tweet Later

The Deputy Chief of Bureau at Puthiya Thalaimurai, Ramesh Murugesan recently spread false information regarding the pension scheme of the Agniveer program, designed to recruit young soldiers for the Indian Army.

On a Twitter post, Mr. Murugesan erroneously claimed that Akshay Lakshman, a soldier recruited under the Agniveer program who attained martyrdom, would not receive any pension benefits. His tweet read, “Akshay Lakshman is the soldier recruited under Agniveer and attained martyrdom, but, like his colleagues, he won’t get any pension aids.

Rahul Gandhi also tweeted on the matter, saying, “A young man was martyred for the country – no gratuity, no other military facilities for his service, and no pension to his family in martyrdom. Agniveer is a plan to insult the heroes of India.”

Mr. Gandhi’s statement sparked controversy and criticism from various quarters, including the Indian Army.

The Indian Army swiftly moved to clarify the situation and rectify the misinformation. In an official statement, they clarified that the emoluments due to Lakshman’s family, and to the next of kin of other Agniveers who die in the line of duty, will be given a substantial compensation. According to the Army’s official tweet, these emoluments included:

1. A non-contributory insurance sum amounting to ₹48 lakh.
2. Compensation of ₹44 lakh.
3. 30 percent of Seva Nidhi contributed by the Agniveer, with equal matching contribution by the government, and interest thereon.
4. Pay for the balance tenure from the date of death, till completion of four years, which was over ₹13 lakh.
5. Contributions of ₹8 lakh from the Armed Forces Battle Casualty Fund.
6. Immediate financial assistance of ₹30,000 from the Army Wives Welfare Association for the next of kin.

After the lies of the Puthiya Thalaimurai journalist was called out, he later deleted the tweet.

About Puthiya Thalaimurai

Tamil mainstream news outlet Puthiya Thalaimurai is known for peddling propaganda favourable to the DMK and Congress.

A senior correspondent belonging to one Puthiya Thalaimurai, was caught peddling fake news saying that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had refused to meet Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami citing budget consultation work.

Very recently, the Dravidianist media has been peddling anti-Israel rhetoric saying that the attack has been response to the “oppressive” Israeli occupation.

Despite ample video and photographic evidence of the barbarity unleashed by Hamas terrorists, a Puthiya Thalaimurai journalist Thamizhiniyan said “Though it is being said that this attack was done by the Hamas, Israel has been continuously for years committing excesses against Palestinians. This is what people who spoke said before.

He also peddled borderline anti-Semitism saying that the attack on Israel has gained worldwide traction because Israelis (Jews) exist as power centres in many countries.

The English outlet of Puthiya Thalaimurai – The Federal. The handle had shared a caricature with the backdrop of the “flying kiss” depicting two Hindus referring to the “Kama Sutra” book and coming to the conclusion that since it was absent in this particular text, it must be a repulsive Western concept.

Niranjan Kumar, who claims himself to be a “journalist” has been caught peddling fake news several times, maing unverified claims fanning north-south divide. During Operation Ganga, he claimed that at ‘South Indian’ students are allegedly being discriminated in the evacuation operation.

List Of Terrorists Killed By ‘Unknown Gunmen’ Recently

For the past year or so, strange things have been taking place in Pakistan one after another in a series of killings of its non-state actors. Just recently, Dawood Malik who was a prominent individual involved in Islamic terror activities against India and had close ties to the wanted terrorist Maulana Masood Azhar was killed by unknown gunmen in the restive North Waziristan.

Dawood Malik was killed in an area where Islamic terrorists can walk and operate with impunity by unidentified gunmen who have targeted known terrorists. Kerala Speaker AN Shamseer Who Called Lord Ganesha As Myth Supports Hamas, Says Their Action Is Not Terrorism But “Resistance”

The controversial Speaker of the Kerala Assembly, AN Shamseer, who has a history of making anti-Hindu statements has extended his support his support to Hamas saying that their actions amount to “resistance” and not “terrorism”.

Shamseer, who is a CPI(M) Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing the Thalassey constituency, on the other hand criticized the Israeli Army’s actions against Hamas militants.

Shamseer came out to support the Palestinians but he refused to call Hamas terrorists instead he called them militant giving them legitimacy for their barbaric actions. He characterized the actions of Hamas as the “resistance of people who have been fighting for years” and argued that such resistance should not be labeled as terrorism.

He said, “Hamas attacks against Israel do not amount to terrorism. It should be described as resistance. Israel should not be retaliating on a tooth-for-tooth stand. Israel should seek to peacefully evolve sustainable solutions to the problems of the Palestinian people. India has always taken sides with Palestine. However, Narendra Modi has openly backed Israel this time. At a time when secularism is being challenged in the country, all those who believe in democracy should join forces for protecting the Constitution.

He also called for Israel not to retaliate against Hamas attacks and instead work towards a permanent solution at the same time did not express any regret for all the innocent people Hamas terrorists killed in the most barbaric manner.

He also saw fit to use the Israel-Hamas conflict to criticize the Modi government which has just sent important aid to the Palestinians. Shamseer alleged that the government had shifted the country’s stance on the Palestine issue in favor of Israel.

However, it must be noted that the Indian government still believes in the two-state solution, and at the same time it also recognizes Israel which the Hamas wants to wipe out from the face of the earth.

He said that from the time of Mahatma Gandhi, India was with Palestine but relations with Israel have become very close under the Modi government. At the same time, the CPI(M) leader called PM Benjamin Netanyahu and Modi “elected dictators”.

Shamseer’s Earlier Controversial Statements

Shamseer while speaking at the inauguration of the ‘Vidya Jyothi project’ in Kunnathunad constituency, Ernakulam district referred to Hindu gods like ‘Ganapati’ and the ‘Pushpaka vimana’ associated with Ravana as mythical concepts lacking scientific evidence. Shamseer also suggested that in the era of artificial intelligence, such ideas should be discarded as myths.

He said “Plastic surgery is a new invention in medical science. But what is being taught is that plastic surgery had existed in ancient times… The example was Ganapati, with a man’s body and an elephant’s face. Instead of science, such myths are being promoted”.

A while back AN Shamseer said, “When you hear the Azaan from the mosque, it serves as a reminder for Hindus to chant their evening prayers and light the Sandhya vilakku (evening lamp). That is Kerala. We should not allow any forces to break this unity. Whatever anyone says or does, this secularism must never be let go.”

Mohammed Zubair Targets Pak Hindu Cricketer Danish Kaneria As He Gets Vocal About His Hindu Heritage In His War Of Words With Arfa Khanum Sherwani

Mohmmaed Zubair of Alt News has painted a new target, this time Pakistani cricketer Danish Kaneria, who has of late been vocal about his Hindu heritage.

As the war of words intensified between the former Pakistan cricketer and Arfa Khanum Sherwani a rabid Islamist and leftist propagandist of ultra-left portal The Wire,  Mohammad Zubair of the other propaganda outlet Alt News has jumped to the rescue of his co-religionist.

Zubair, who is a master at manipulating news using social media platform X posted an old video wherein Danish Kaneria was very apologetic about match-fixing. Zubair using his bully pulpit said, “Now that Danish Kaneria is trending. Here is his old (2018) confession video of his Match Fixing involvement in England.”

It all started when Arfa Khanum Sherwani who has a history of playing victim accused the Indian cricket fans of displaying ‘majoritarianism’ during the 2023 World Cup and was seriously irked by the chanting of Jai Shri Ram by the fans in Ahmedabad when India resoundingly defeated Pakistan in there world cup clash for the eighth time. Danish Kaneria had asked The Wire ‘journalist’ to leave India if she had issues with her Indian identity which she uses when she is disadvantaged.

Immediately Arfa Khanum played the minority card and accused Kanaria who is himself a persecuted minority in Paksitan of unleashing an online lynch mob against her. “Danish Kaneria has unleashed an online lynch mob on me and I am trending on Twitter,” she alleged. She went on to lament, “Rest assured, I’m not leaving my country for Pakistan or any other place in the world.”

In his reply, Kanaria wrote, “Lynch’ ‘mob’ ‘communal’ ‘religious’ ‘troll’ ‘unleashed’! Don’t use these propaganda words for me. Did I talk about communalism in my tweet? No! If you don’t like Pakistan, simply say – ‘Danish, I don’t like Pakistan’. That’s it! This got her infuriated!

And the mother of all irony, Arfa accused Danish Kaneria of unleashing an online lynch mob.

The above war of words did not land well with Zubair who then decided to give covering fire to Arfa. So he decided to discredit Kaneria by digging out his involvement in a spot-fixing scandal that happened in 2012. Danish Kaneria was banned for life from playing any form of cricket by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) after being found guilty of encouraging Essex teammate Mervyn Westfield to engage in spot-fixing during a county match.

In one of his other tweets, Zubair called Kaneria a bigot when the former said nothing against Islam. By calling Danish Kaneria a bigot, Zubair in his long list of accomplishments has now painted a target on the back of a persecuted minority living in Pakistan.

The fact is Kaneria was only questioning Arfa Khanum’s loyalty towards India which depends on which side of bed she gets out from. On his X platform, Kaneria wrote, “I am not taking about conversion, majoritarianism, Hindus, Indian Muslims or religion. I am simply talking about your ‘loyalty’. Got it? Let’s end the debate with single answer — “Just show me a single tweet in which you praised Bharat and its culture.”

To that, the proud Ashraf who still thinks her community should rule India like her ancestors said, “Yes,every word of your tweet was communal. Asking an Indian Muslim to ‘go to Pakistan’ is as communal& majoritarian as asking a Pakistani Hindu to convert to Islam. It is telling the minority people that you don’t belong here or not until you convert to majority religion Got it?

Arfa Khanum Sherwani knows that the moment she plays victim the left-liberal ecosystem will come to her rescue and as she has all the tools to justify her victimhood as Arfa remains quiet on the abduction of Hindu daughters in Sindh, Pakistan as she knows no matter how ingratitude, dishonesty, and shameless she can be, she will always be safe in India.

Indian Flag Banned By I.N.D.I Ally? Fans Prevented From Carrying Indian Tricolour For Pak-Afg Match In Chepauk, Pakistan T-Shirt Clad People Allowed

It has been reported that ticket-holding spectators to the Pakistan versus Afghanistan world cup match at the Chepauk stadium have been prevented from carrying the Indian tricolour with them.

According to a report by News Tamil 24×7, officials have informed that the Indian national flag is not allowed to be carried inside the stadium due to the match between Pakistan and Afghanistan teams.

Police officials stationed at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk, Chennai (Assembly constituency of DMK Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin) have been seizing the Indian flags carried by the fans.

The report by News Tamil 24×7 noted that one of the police officials dumped the seized Indian flags into a dustbin which enraged the people. Later, the same police official took the flag from the bin and kept it inside his car.

https://twitter.com/NewsTamilTV24x7/status/1716373726961230063

On the other hand, those wearing Pakistani team t-shirts have been allowed inside the stadium notes the News Tamil 24×7 report.

The latest development comes against the backdrop of DMK Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin coming out in support of Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Rizwan after an enthusiastic crowd chanted ‘Jai Shri Ram’ when he was making his way back to the pavilion after getting out at 49 runs.

BJP Tamil Nadu President K. Annamalai condemned the incident saying “Gopalapuram Scion Thiru Udhayanidhi Stalin  had problems with the #JaiShriRam chant during the Cricket match against Pakistan, having forgotten the treatment meted out to our players in Pakistan in the past. DMK Minister Thiru Ponmudi’s son & TNCA President Thiru Ashok Sigamani has taken their political propaganda one step further and have insulted our Nation’s flag today. The police outside the stadium disallowed fans from carrying the Indian flag to today’s match in Chepauk. Who gave TNCA this right? We demand the strictest action against the police officers for insulting our National flag, and the DMK should apologise to the people of our state, failing which, @BJP4TamilNadu will be compelled to protest against this Corrupt DMK government for denigrating the sanctity of the Tricolor.

India Considers Reporting Canada To FATF Over Terror Funding Concerns

After telling Canada to reduce its diplomatic staff in India, Canada now faces the prospect of finding itself on the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) over Ottawa’s inaction against terror funding operations on its soil despite New Delhi having shared “credible and clinching”, reports Sunday Guardian.

India is now working on a plan to share a “dossier of the old and new evidence” with the Paris-based financial watchdog, which oversees the implementation of legal, regulatory, and operational measures to combat money laundering and terror financing.

According to the Indian government, “Canada acquiescing to India’s demand to reduce its diplomatic strength by 41 is not enough as India’s key concern is about funding and shielding of Khalistanis on Canadian soil. Diplomats, security, and probe agency officials have been asked to collect relevant evidence to be shared with the FATF. The core issue in India’s relationship with Canada is the safe space that terrorists and criminal elements have secured in that country.

In a statement released by Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson, Arindam Bagchi, who said, “With Canada seeking to divert the focus from the core issue of Khalistani elements having a free run on its soil, India has no other option but to report Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s inaction against pro-Khalistan elements in his country to FATF. India is, therefore, planning to collect evidence of terror funding and financing emanating from Canada and present it to FATF.”.

To counter this problem the Trudeau government is now trying to use its influence with its 5 eyes partners to divert the attention of the global community from the core issue of terror activities and funding by accusing India of violating the Vienna Convention regarding Canadian diplomatic presence which India has outrightly rejected. Also, at the same time, the Indian government decided to put all its diplomatic strength into highlighting the core issue of terror funding that is taking place on Canadian soil unabated.

India has already come down heavily on Canada for “providing safe haven to terrorists” amid deteriorating diplomatic relations between New Delhi and Ottawa after the former accused India of carrying out an extra-judicial killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar without ever providing any evidence. The MEA spokesperson said “Terrorism is being funded and supported by our western neighbor Pakistan, but the issue of safe havens and places to operate are being provided abroad, including in Canada.”.

For nearly four decades the Canadian government never helped India whenever New Delhi asked for the deportation of any terrorist or militant from Canada. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on 20 September gave details of 43 people associated with a terror-gangster (which includes narcotics and extortion) network having links to Canada, and Canada will be asked to take action against them.

India has now gone on a counter-offensive as it now wants the Canadian government not to provide any safe haven to terrorists and take action or India would put pressure on FATF to be tough on Canada.

In fact, Justin Trudeau is frustrated after being publicly criticized for not being able to share specific information linking India to the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar and now this so-called diplomatic outrage to divert attention is not working out as he loses more political credibility in Canada.

On the issue of India violating international norms, the MEA said, “We reject any attempt to portray the implementation of parity as a violation of international norms,” the MEA said, countering Canada’s charge. We have seen the Statement by the Government of Canada on 19 October regarding Canadian diplomatic presence in India. The state of our bilateral relations, the much higher number of Canadian diplomats in India, and their continued interference in our internal affairs warrant a parity in mutual diplomatic presence in New Delhi and Ottawa.”

We have been engaged with the Canadian side on this over the last month in order to work out the details and modalities of its implementation. Our actions in implementing this parity are fully consistent with Article 11.1 of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which states the following: ‘In the absence of specific agreement as to the size of the mission, the receiving State may require that the size of a mission be kept within limits considered by it to be reasonable and normal, having regard to circumstances and conditions in the receiving State and to the needs of the particular mission’,” the MEA statement read.

NIA Arrests Imran Khan From Theni For Human Trafficking And Sending Recruits To ISIS

On 22 October 2023, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested Imran Khan, a resident of Theni on charges of human trafficking and recruiting individuals for terror organizations. The Absconded Tracking Team (ATT) of the NIA in Bengaluru successfully located and apprehended the accused in Uthamapalayam, situated in the Theni district, following a carefully executed raid in the early hours of the day.

The arrested individual, identified as Mohamed Imran Khan, who also goes by the name Hama Najerbheeden and is 39 years old, had been evading authorities since June 2021.

The arrest comes after years of investigation and surveillance by NIA, which had been closely monitoring Imran Khan’s alleged illegal activities for over five years. During their inquiry, NIA uncovered disturbing details of Imran Khan’s involvement in recruiting individuals for the ISIS and facilitating their training abroad.

The investigation revealed that Imran Khan had successfully recruited individuals from India and then sent them for terrorist training overseas. It is believed that he used persuasive tactics to indoctrinate and radicalize youth, subsequently sending them to join the ISIS ranks. Furthermore, Khan’s illicit activities extended beyond national borders, as he was also implicated in bringing terrorists from Pakistan into India through Sri Lanka and then sent to various other countries including Canada.

Reports suggest that these Pakistani terrorists were first transported to Sri Lanka and then smuggled into Ramanathapuram, India, using illegal boats before being dispatched to various destinations, like Mangalore, Bangalore from where they made their way to other countries using fake documents. Following his arrest in Uthamapalayam, Imran Khan was swiftly transferred to Madurai by NIA officials for further interrogation.

Tamil Nadu Becoming A Hub For Terrorists?

On 11 October 2023, the NIA conducted searches at the residence of A. Thajuddin Haamidih alias Muhammad Tajuddin in Madurai as part of a crackdown on Popular Front of India terrorists.

Syed Nabeel Ahammed, the fugitive chief of the ISIS Thrissur module was captured in Chennai by the NIA’s Fugitive Tracking Team thwarting his attempts to flee the country.

The NIA arrested nine people in December 2022 from a special camp for Sri Lankan refugees in Trichy after receiving information that they were all working with Haji Salim, a Pakistan-based drug smuggler. He is suspected of being involved in the March 2021 incident near Kerala’s Vizhinjam port, when Indian defense forces intercepted a boat carrying 300 kg of heroin, five AK-47 machine guns, and 1,000 rounds of 9mm bullets.

According to NIA officials, all of these incidents are connected to a group of Sri Lankan Tamils who are allegedly working to resurrect the banned terrorist organization Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) through drug smuggling and illegal arms dealing.

On 27 May 2021, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested an ISIS terror suspect in Mayiladuthurai who was wanted for a criminal plot in 2018 reportedly directed against a few leaders in Coimbatore including Indu Makkal Katchi Chief Arjun Sampath.

A bomb blast occurred outside Coimbatore’s Kottai Easwaran Temple on 23 October 2022, a day before the Hindu festival of Diwali. The suspected terrorist Jameesa Mubin, died in the explosion. NIA investigations has led to the arrests of 13 persons known to be Islamist sympathizers. It was also found that one of the accused was linked to the 1998 CBE serial blast convicts.

The NIA during its investigation also found that Jamesha Mubeen along with a few other terrorists hatched the Sathyamangalam conspiracy (the car bomb blast plan was concretized in the Sathyamangalam forests) to plan and prepare a terror attack to revenge Mohammed Azarudeen alias Azar’s arrest and to get him released from jail through a jail-attack.
