Ego Over Empathy? How CJI Gavai Pressured Chandrachud to Vacate Official Residence Even As The Ex-CJI Looked For Accessible Housing For His Special-Needs Daughters

When CJI Gavai Pressured Ex-CJI DY Chandrachud To Vacate Official Residence

In a development that had unsettled the legal fraternity, the Supreme Court’s administrative wing under Chief Justice B.R. Gavai had written to the Union government demanding the “immediate eviction” of former CJI D.Y. Chandrachud from his official residence in New Delhi. The move, unusually sharp and abrupt, was criticised by many as unnecessary and vindictive.

Traditionally, outgoing Chief Justices are given a grace period of a few months to vacate their government bungalows. In Justice Chandrachud’s case, it turned into a controversy.

The Pressure From CJI Gavai

Sources confirmed that it was the CJI’s office that triggered the eviction process by formally writing to the Centre. The letter argued that Chandrachud had overstayed beyond his allotted time and urged the Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry to initiate proceedings “without further delay.” The uncharacteristic haste has raised eyebrows, especially since past precedents allowed greater flexibility to retiring judges.

For observers, the timing of the letter and its subsequent leak to the media seemed anything but accidental. Coming against the backdrop of growing friction between the legacies of Chandrachud and Gavai, the decision is being read as more than just a matter of “accommodation logistics.”

Why Chandrachud Asked For An Extension

Breaking his silence, former CJI Chandrachud explained why he had not yet vacated. In an interview, he said the government-allotted alternative house was still under renovation, with contractors delaying completion. More importantly, he cited his daughter’s health needs, stressing that the new residence required special modifications including wheelchair access and space for medical equipment.

He said, “Kalpana and I are parents to two special needs children, our adopted daughters. The hard fact which I realized after I retired was of accessibility. You do not have homes, even in a place like Delhi, what about other cities where you could hve access to children who are on a wheelchair? One of my daughters is connected to a tracheostomy tube and a BiPAP machine. Both the children are on wheelchairs. And we found that there are no ramps. If there is a ramp, the lift, there is no lift thereafter to go to the first floor or the second floor. Even within homes, within flats in Delhi, bathroom doors are not wide enough for a wheelchair to enter for a special needs child to use a toilet. This was something that I pointed out to the then Chief Justice that I need two more months to find suitable accommodation. For the two months that you overstay, the government has a standard schedule of rates, market rent for which you have to pay the government. But surely, I do expect that after 25 years of having served the nation, two months, particularly when neither of my successors were going to occupy the home of the chief justice of India, this is not too much to ask.”

Chandrachud revealed that he had personally written to both his successor, CJI Gavai, and his predecessor, Justice U.U. Lalit, seeking an extension. He said he had made clear that he would vacate by the end of June 2025 once the new house was ready. By his account, much of his luggage had already been shifted, and he was “in the middle of packing.”

Extensions Have Precedent

Former CJIs and judges have in the past been granted extensions for medical or family reasons. Chandrachud pointed out that similar requests had been considered sympathetically earlier. Yet, in his case, the Supreme Court administration pushed for eviction, portraying him as clinging to privileges.

Court insiders questioned why the CJI’s office could not show the same flexibility, particularly given the health concerns involved. The speed and tone of the eviction letter and its convenient leak only intensified suspicions that the move was intended to embarrass Chandrachud.

The eviction row was seen less as a bureaucratic tussle over housing and more as an assertion of authority by CJI Gavai over his predecessor.

A Battle Beyond A Bungalow

With Chandrachud confirming he was ready to move, the practical dispute did soon end. But the manner in which the matter was handled, through pressure, leaks, and public spectacle cast CJI Gavai in a deeply negative light. Additionally, we got to see his nature when he dismissed the petition as “publicity interest litigation.” Addressing the petitioner, who identified as a staunch devotee of Lord Vishnu, the CJI remarked: “Go and ask the deity itself to do something now. You say you are a staunch devotee of Lord Vishnu. So go and pray now.”

For many, the bungalow may have been the excuse. The real story is the unmistakable clash of egos, ideologies, and legacies at the very top of India’s judiciary.

CJI Gavai’s Mother Rejects RSS Vijayadashami Invite, Calls It “Harmful To Social Consciousness”; Son Rajendra Says She Will Attend

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) recently extended an invitation to Kamaltai Gavai, mother of Chief Justice of India (CJI) B R Gavai, for its Vijayadashami programme scheduled on 5 October 2025 in Amravati, Maharashtra, which also coincides with the organisation’s centenary. The invitation has sparked controversy after Kamaltai issued a strongly worded letter rejecting it, while her son, Dr. Rajendra Gavai insisted that she would in fact attend.

Kamaltai’s Letter of Refusal

In a letter written in Marathi, Kamaltai Gavai said that she would not attend the event “under any circumstances” because of her Ambedkarite ideology and her family’s commitment to the Indian Constitution. She added that participating in the event would “harm social consciousness.”

“The news recently published about the RSS Vijayadashami program scheduled for October 5 at 6:30 PM at the Shrimati Narsamma Mahavidyalaya Ground in Amravati, Maharashtra, is utterly false. As the founding president of the Dadasaheb Gavai Charitable Trust, deeply rooted in Ambedkarite ideology, and with my family’s unwavering commitment to the Constitution of India, I will never attend or support the upcoming RSS program in Amravati under any circumstances. I assure you that I will not cause any harm to social consciousness in any way,” the letter stated.

Kamaltai also said that while Vijayadashami is important in Hindu culture, for Buddhists like her the day is marked as Ashok Vijayadashami or Dhammachakra Pravartan Din, commemorating Emperor Ashoka’s conversion to Buddhism. She emphasised that this day, rather than the Hindu festival of Dussehra, held significance for Ambedkarites.

She described reports about her attendance as “RSS propaganda” and called them misinformation. “I strongly condemn the recently published news as misinformation and urge the public not to fall prey to such propaganda from a social perspective. I call upon my fellow Ambedkarites to take note of this and place their trust in me. Spreading this news without my consent or written approval is a conspiracy by the RSS. I do not accept this invitation,” she wrote.

Contradictory Statement from Rajendra Gavai

Soon after Kamaltai’s letter, her son Dr. Rajendra Gavai, a Republican Party of India (RPI) leader, issued a video statement asserting that both he and his mother would attend the RSS Vijayadashami event. He said that he had accepted the invitation and confirmed his mother’s presence as well.

Family’s Political Background

Kamaltai’s late husband, R S Gavai, also known as Dadasaheb Gavai, was a senior RPI leader and worked closely with B R Ambedkar. He served as chairman of the Deekshabhoomi Smarak Samiti in Nagpur and played a key role in developing the Ambedkar Memorial Committee at Deekshabhoomi. He was elected to the Lok Sabha from Amravati in 1998 and served as Governor of Bihar, Sikkim, and Kerala between 2006 and 2011 during the Congress-led UPA government.

Archival records show that in 1981, R S Gavai attended the valedictory ceremony of the Sangh Shiksha Varg in Nagpur as chief guest, sharing the stage with RSS leaders Balasaheb Deoras, Bhayyaji Sahasrabuddhe, and Babasaheb Pathade.

During his tenure as Kerala Governor in 2009, Gavai granted permission to the CBI to prosecute CPM leader and current Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in the SNC-Lavalin case, against the recommendation of the state cabinet. The move was welcomed by the Congress-led UPA, which was in opposition in Kerala at the time.

CJI B R Gavai has also acknowledged that his father was associated with the Congress for over four decades as a legislator and parliamentarian. His brother, Dr. Rajendra Gavai, remains a Republican Party leader aligned with the Congress.

Recent Controversy Around CJI Gavai

The debate around Kamaltai’s refusal comes days after CJI B R Gavai himself faced criticism for remarks made during Supreme Court proceedings on 16 September 2025. While hearing a plea related to the restoration of a Hindu idol, CJI Gavai dismissed the petition as “publicity interest litigation.” Addressing the petitioner, who identified as a staunch devotee of Lord Vishnu, the CJI remarked: “Go and ask the deity itself to do something now. You say you are a staunch devotee of Lord Vishnu. So go and pray now.”

AIADMK Alleges Udhayanidhi Stalin Flew Off To Dubai With His Pet Dog In Chartered Flight After Customary Photoshoot In Karur Stampede

AIADMK Alleges-Udhayanidhi-Stalin-Flew-Off-With-His-Pet-Dog-In-Chartered-Fligt-After-Customary-Photoshoot-In-Karur-Stampede-1024x576

The AIADMK’s IT wing has taken a sharp jab at DMK scion and Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, criticizing his decision to return to Dubai shortly after meeting with the families of those killed in the recent stampede in Karur. In a post on their official X handle, the AIADMK questioned his priorities, asking whether his foreign trip was more important than standing by the grieving people of the state.

Udhayanidhi had reportedly traveled to Dubai with his family and was abroad when news of the Karur tragedy broke. Following the incident, he flew back to Tamil Nadu on a private aircraft, landing in Trichy around 6:00 AM. From there, he proceeded to the Karur Government Hospital, where he paid respects to the victims and met with the bereaved families. However, within a few hours, he was back at Trichy airport and boarded another private flight to return to Dubai.

The AIADMK seized the moment to launch an attack on Udhayanidhi, accusing him of treating the visit to Karur as a mere formality. In their post, they wrote, “You went to Dubai… you came back… you took a customary photoshoot in Karur… Now, Back to Dubai! And that too on a private jet… (VT-NSG) Are the people important? Or is the trip important? What is this, Deputy Chief Minister @Udhaystalin? When the whole of Tamil Nadu is in sorrow, a Deputy Chief Minister is in a trip celebrating  mindset! What a curse!”

Satish Acharya Once Again Proves He’s A Congress Stooge

Satish Acharya, a so-called “neutral” cartoonist is back in the news. But before we decide he is neutral, if one takes a look at his work, right through the years, one can easily confirm that cartoonist Satish Acharya masquerades as a neutral voice while serving as a de facto propagandist for the Indian National Congress.

Far from balanced critique, his body of work only appears to be a calculated effort to shield the Congress party while obsessively lampooning its political rivals. A pattern of selective targeting, ideological omission, and conspicuous silence during Congress failures paints a damning picture of compromised integrity.

This time he once again proves he is a Congress stooge. How, you ask? Take a look at his latest cartoon on the Karur stampede.

In an attempt to satirise the Karur stampede during TVK rally, he behaved like a true Congress supporter by not questioning the ruling dispensation.

In the cartoon posted a day ago, he points out how Vijay ‘ran away’ from the scene of the stampede.

He posted another cartoon on the same topic, earlier today.

However, he never questioned the DMK government – is it because they are an ally of the Congress?

Here is what he did for the Bengaluru stampede following RCB win.

Bengaluru Stampede Following RCB Win

For all the cartoons he has made on stampedes before, especially the Kumbh Mela one where he pointed directly to UP CM Yogi Adityanath, one would assume Acharya would probably question the Congress government for their shoddy crowd management. But what did Acharya do? He came up with words instead of art. He wrote on his X handle following the stampede that killed over 11 people injuring more than 50 – “The govt should’ve anticipated this madness looking at last night’s frenzy and should’ve made proper arrangements or suggested a different date for the parade. Totally irresponsible! Sad to see so many innocent lives lost.”

After backlash, he came up with a cartoon that did not blame the Congress government but seemed to blame RCB.

When people started reminding him in the comments about how he blamed Yogi Adityanath for the Kumbh Mela stampede, he came up with a few more.

In a cartoon for TNM wannabe South First, probably because he was asked by the editors, he brought the political establishment into the picture.

Acharya did something similar when the need arose to raise questions against the administration in Karnataka. However, these are the times that people like Acharya seem to swallow adhesive and focus on using words.

However, the same Satish Acharya posted a cartoon questioning the Yogi Adityanath government for the stampede during the Kumbh Mela.

In the case of the Karur stampede deaths, Satish Acharya did not raise questions about the role of the ruling DMK government in maintaining law and order, which critics suggest reflects his political leanings and willingness to extend that stance to the party’s allies as well.

DMK Stooge Oviya Calls For Arresting Vijay Over Karur Stampede, TVK Virtual Warriors Abuse Her

oviya tvk vijay karur stampede

DMK sympathizer and Kollywood actress Oviya, has sparked controversy after publicly demanding the arrest of actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay in connection with the tragic stampede at a political rally in Karur that claimed 40 lives.

Oviya took to Instagram to express her outrage, posting a story with the message “Arrest Vijay.” The post came in response to the deadly incident that occurred during a rally organized by Vijay and his party.

However, the story was deleted within hours after Oviya was bombarded with a wave of hostile and vulgar messages from TVK supporters and Vijay’s fans, who flooded her social media like a swarm, prompting her to take it down.

In response to the backlash, Oviya later shared a more reflective post. Quoting a popular saying, she wrote, “Life is a dream for the wise, a game for the foolish, a joke for the rich, but a tragedy for the poor.” The message appeared to be a commentary on the socio-economic dimensions of the tragedy, but it only intensified the backlash from Vijay’s followers. She has since posted screenshots of the abusive messages she received, stating that while many came to hurl insults, one comment in particular claiming that her distress brings someone peace deeply unsettled her.

Amidst the growing outrage and debate, TVK has announced a financial compensation of ₹20 lakh for each family affected by the Karur tragedy. This decision was finalized during an emergency online meeting of the party leadership. As per the latest official update, 40 people have lost their lives, including 17 women, four boys, and five girls. Authorities have so far identified 35 of the deceased, 28 of whom were residents of Karur.

Meanwhile, actor Vijay’s swift departure from the rally site immediately after the stampede has triggered further criticism. His absence in the immediate aftermath of the incident has raised questions about leadership and accountability, fueling the ongoing political and public debate over the tragic event.

Uttar Pradesh: Private School Accused Of Forcing Hindu Children To Write ‘I Love Muhammad’

Uttar Pradesh: Private School Accused Of Forcing Hindu Children To Write 'I Love Muhammad'

A private school in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh, has come under intense scrutiny after allegations surfaced that young Hindu students were forced to write the phrase “I Love Muhammad” as part of an art competition. The incident reportedly took place in the Sadarpur area of the city at Amar Bapu Shiksha Niketan School. Parents raised the complaint with authorities after children disclosed the matter at home, prompting Hindu organizations, including the Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), to intervene. Following their complaint, police registered an FIR against three individuals, including the school manager, and have launched a thorough investigation.

Background and Escalation

This controversy in Sitapur emerges amid ongoing tensions in Uttar Pradesh over similar incidents, which began in Kanpur and subsequently spread to cities such as Bareilly and Mau. Last Friday, violent protests erupted in Bareilly after Friday prayers, leading to the arrest of eight individuals, including Maulana Tauqeer Raza, and detention of over 40 others. In Mau, hundreds of youth staged protests with slogans, prompting strict administrative action.

The Sitapur incident, involving children in a school setting, has added further pressure on state authorities to act swiftly. Reports indicate that the posters created by students were reviewed by teachers, and parents became aware only after the students returned home. The FIR names the school manager, village head, and other unidentified teachers.

Tensions Across Districts

Barabanki: Faizullaganj village, near Lucknow, witnessed unrest after a banner displaying “I Love Muhammad” was torn down by a local watchman, Dhanni. The incident drew crowds from both communities, leading police to intervene. Eight individuals were arrested for taking out a procession in protest. A significant police presence remains in the area.

Mau: Following Friday prayers, residents reportedly organized a procession in the Nai Bazaar area, chanting “I Love Muhammad”. Police dispersed the crowd using batons, and footage of the event circulated on social media.

Varanasi: Police arrested seven individuals and a juvenile from Sigra and Lallapura areas, allegedly for organizing an unauthorized procession with “I Love Muhammad” posters and banners, reportedly aimed at disrupting communal harmony.

Muzaffarnagar: At least five people were arrested for putting up objectionable stickers and pamphlets. District Magistrate Umesh Mishra imposed prohibitory orders, banning any procession without prior permission. Religious leaders have urged citizens to maintain peace and communal harmony.

Bareilly: Authorities indicated that the recent violence was pre-planned. Investigations have implicated local politicians in the unrest. Deputy Inspector General Ajay Kumar Sahni stated that those disrupting peace would face action under the Goondas Act and National Security Act (NSA). Security forces, including police, PAC, and paramilitary personnel from 15 districts, have been deployed to maintain order. Over 500 individuals are being identified through CCTV footage and video evidence, and several are already in custody, including Maulana Tauqeer Raza, president of the Ittehad-e-Millat Council. District Magistrate Avnish Singh confirmed that schools, colleges, and businesses are operating normally, but heightened security remains in place.

Police and administrative authorities have urged citizens not to pay attention to rumours circulating on social media. Strict action has been promised against those found spreading misinformation or attempting to incite unrest.

Congress, The Real Surrenderer: Chidambaram’s Confession Reveals Congress Govt Yielded To US Pressure To Not Retaliate Against Pakistan After 26/11 Mumbai Terror Attack

"My Personal View Was We Should Have Retaliated" Says Former Home Minister P Chidambaram About 2008 Mumbai Terror Attacks Aftermath

In a stunning revelation, former Union Home Minister P Chidambaram has disclosed that he personally advocated for a military response against Pakistan following the devastating 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks but was overruled by the top Congress leadership, then led by party president Sonia Gandhi.

Chidambaram, who took charge of the Home Ministry on 1 December 2008, in the immediate aftermath of the attacks, made these statements during a recent interview. His comments provide the clearest insider account yet of the internal government debate and pinpoint where the decision against retaliation was made.

“It Did Cross My Mind”: From Reluctant Minister to Advocate for Retribution

The former minister revealed he was a reluctant appointee, stating he had to be ordered by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to take the job.

He stated that the selection was done by Sonia Gandhi as well. He said, “I think it was a Sunday when I was called by the Prime Minister in the morning, and he said, we are moving you from finance to home. I said, but I don’t wish to go. He said, we have already taken a decision. He said, Mrs. Gandhi was Congress president, naturally.”

Once in office, he immediately grappled with how to respond to the Pakistan-orchestrated attack that left 166 Indians dead. When asked if retribution crossed his mind, Chidambaram confirmed, “Yes, I did discuss it with the Prime Minister and other people who mattered.”

He explicitly stated, “Without disclosing any official secret, it did cross my mind that we should do some act of retribution.”

The “Prevailing” View: Diplomacy Over Deterrence

However, Chidambaram clarified that his personal stance was overruled. He attributed the final decision to – “Yes, I did discuss it with the Prime Minister and other people who mattered. Apparently, the Prime Minister had discussed this even when the attack was going on. I don’t know, I can only surmise. The conclusion was largely influenced by the MEA and the IFS that we should not physically react but employ diplomatic means.

He also revealed intense international pressure, noting that then-US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice flew to Delhi to personally urge India “please don’t react.”

He said, “That was a conclusion at that time – and remember, the whole world was descending upon Delhi to tell us not to start a war. For example, Condoleezza Rice, who was then Secretary of State, flew in two or three days after I took over to meet me and the Prime Minister and to say, “please don’t react.” I said, this is a decision which the government will take.”

When asked if he thought that the UPA government went soft on terror back then, P. Chidambaram said, “No, it was not soft on terror. We did not retaliate for reasons. My personal view was we should have. But I don’t decide on my personal view. I take on the strengths and weaknesses of the government.”

India’s Home Minister post 26/11 terror attack P. Chidambaram, who took over as Home Minister on 30th November, says:

A Pattern of “Softness”?

This admission places a glaring spotlight on the decision-making of the Congress-led UPA government and its top leadership. The revelation that the Home Minister, the official responsible for internal security was in favor of a military response, but was “prevailed” upon to stand down, confirms long-held criticisms of the government’s hesitant approach to terrorism.

This stands in stark contrast to the policy of the current government, which has authorized kinetic strikes like the 2016 surgical strikes and the 2019 Balakote airstrike in response to major terror attacks.

The 26/11 decision now appears to be part of a broader pattern, from the controversial questioning of the Batla House encounter to the recent criticism of operations like ‘Sindoor’ and ‘Tilak’. Chidambaram’s testimony makes it clear that when faced with a historic provocation, the ultimate authority in the Congress party, Sonia Gandhi, presided over a policy of restraint that many Indians perceived as weakness, leaving the nation’s call for justice unanswered.

“No Ceasefire, Only Surrender, Bullets Must Be Answered With Bullets”, Says Union Home Minister Amit Shah Rejecting Maoist Ceasefire Offer

amit shah ceasefire surrender

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on 28 September 2025 delivered a firm rebuttal to a ceasefire proposal from Maoist insurgents, stating the government’s position is one of unequivocal surrender, not negotiation. He invited the left-wing extremists to lay down their arms with the assurance that they would not be fired upon.

The Home Minister’s comments came during his address at the valedictory session of a seminar titled ‘Naxal Mukt Bharat: Ending Red Terror Under Modi’s Leadership’ held in the national capital. He was referring to a purported letter from the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist) that expressed a readiness to give up arms, contingent on the government announcing a one-month ceasefire and pausing ongoing anti-Naxal operations.

“Recently, to spread confusion, a letter was written stating that what has happened so far has been a mistake, that a ceasefire should be declared, and that we (Naxals) want to surrender,” Shah stated. “I want to say there will be no ceasefire. If you want to surrender, there is no need for a ceasefire. Lay down your arms, not a single bullet will be fired.”

Elaborating on the government’s stance, Shah outlined a clear two-pronged approach: a welcoming surrender and rehabilitation policy for those who renounce violence, and a firm military response for those who do not.

“The government’s approach is that we make every effort to arrest Naxalites and get them to surrender. We also give them a chance. We have introduced a good surrender policy,” he said. However, he added a stern warning: “But when you take up arms and set out to kill innocent citizens of India, the security forces have no other option. Bullets must be answered with bullets.”

Criticism of Ideological Supporters

Shah also launched a sharp critique against what he described as the ideological and legal supporters of Naxalism, specifically targeting leftist political parties, activists, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

“Why do they need to protect them…why don’t NGOs come forward to protect human rights of victim tribals?” he questioned. “Have all the people who write these lengthy articles and advise us ever written an article for the tribal victims? Why are they not concerned about this?”

2026 Deadline and Ideological Battle

Reiterating the government’s determined goal, Shah announced that the country would be free of Naxalism by 31 March 2026. He emphasized, however, that the conflict is not merely a military one.

“Many people believe that the Naxalite problem will end with the end of armed activities. But this is not the case,” Shah stated. He stressed the need to confront the ideology that fuels the movement. “Why did the Naxalite problem arise, grow, and develop in this country? Who provided its ideological support? Until Indian society understands this theory, this idea of Naxalism, and the people in society who provided ideological support, legal support, and financial support, the fight against Naxalism will not end.”

The Home Minister concluded by acknowledging the importance of winning the ideological battle, stating, “We can make Naxalites surrender or our security forces can neutralise them, but on the ideological front, we have to make a lot of efforts. Regarding this, the discussion that took place here is relevant and important to me as well.”

Pro-Palestinian Dance Performance At Kannur School Halted By School Principal, Cited Violation Of Guidelines

kannur palestin

On 27 September 2025, a pro-Palestinian-themed dance performance was stopped midway at Anjarakandy Higher Secondary School in Kannur, Kerala. The performance, part of the school’s youth festival, featured students presenting kolkali, a traditional folk art. However, school authorities intervened and sent the participating students offstage before the performance could proceed.

The students involved were from the higher secondary section. The school management claimed the decision was based on a violation of the youth festival guidelines, stating that the content of the performance was not in accordance with the festival manual. As the performance began, the principal and other staff members approached the stage and instructed the students to halt the act.

The school is operated by a society reportedly affiliated with the CPI(M). In response to the incident, members of the Muslim Students Federation (MSF) and the Kerala Students Union (KSU) held a protest march to the school premises.

This is not an isolated case. Earlier this month, on 5 September, Kerala Police registered a case against 30 members of the Girls Islamic Organisation (GIO) for organizing a pro-Palestine demonstration and public meeting at Madayipara in Kannur district without official permission. The event, led by Afra Shihab, was held in an ecologically sensitive zone on Devaswom-owned land, where public gatherings are strictly restricted due to concerns over biodiversity.

According to the complaint, the participants entered the protected area around 6 PM. carrying flags and banners, allegedly causing environmental disturbance. Despite an existing ban on vehicle entry into Madayipara especially during the Onam holiday period several vehicles reportedly accessed the area in violation of the rules.

Police initiated a formal investigation after video footage of the demonstration went viral on social media platforms.
