“I Paid ₹1 Cr In Liquid Cash”: Annamalai Releases Third Audio Clip Of DMK Files 3 Showing DMK’s Deception, DMK MP A. Raja And Jaffar Sait Discuss Diary And Payments Made

The TN BJP Chief Annamalai has been releasing a series of audio recordings of conversations between DMK top brass and the ex-TN intelligence chief Jaffar Sait. The latest audio clip is the third in the series, released this evening. The audio clip features the conversation between DMK MP A. Raja and Jaffar Sait. In this clip, the discussion revolves around how the CBI enquiry with A. Raja went and how he successfully thwarted the questions from them. A. Raja also elaborates about the payments he made to the party for different purposes and different people. The conversation clarifies it that the then CM was also aware about the investigations and was updated every day by Jaffar Sait on the progress. The transcript of the conversation is given below.

A. Raja: Hello

Jaffar Sait: Sir vanakkam, how did it go sir?

A. Raja: It is done sir

JS: How did it go today, sir?

A. Raja: They asked about the diary, I told an alternative theory for that.

JS: OK sir

A. Raja: I took three documents along with me. They were upset upon seeing it.

JS: What documents, sir?

A. Raja: We opened an account in Canara bank in the name of the district DMK. We have dealt up to ₹1 Crore (in that account)

JS: OK sir

A. Raja: From 2003 to 2008

JS: OK sir

A. Raja: Similarly, I have bills in the name of “Murasoli” for ₹ 70 to 80 lacs. Also, I gave one-page advertisement for ‘thalaivar’s’ birthday

JS: OK sir

A. Raja: For that, I had paid ₹1 crore in one payment as liquid cash

JS: OK sir

A. Raja: I have these three to show that through bank account or cash dealings I have collected money from either the public or people I know and given it to the district units… I have it as liquid cash as well as bank deposits. So that they can draw identical inference for the diaries…. I have done these transactions with EV Velu, Geetha Jeevan, Ponmudi, Velu….it was told that it was given to Ponmudi for Villupuram rally…Villupuram, EV Velu then KC Palanisamy (inaudible)…

JS: Oh, OK sir, OK sir

A. Raja: So, maximum it has been done for the party, either I would have given it in advance or given it after they had made expenses…but in one place it is mentioned as Trichy rally… It would be mentioned as Trichy conference…the entries in the entire page are for Trichy conference… I am one of the co-district secretaries for the conference…

JS: OK sir

A. Raja: There are 3 or 4 documents for the alternative theory….they know the diary is not relevant, but they wanted to demoralise me by making it relevant…

JS: OK sir

A. Raja: (inaudible)…like that

JS: OK sir

A. Raja: That is over. I had explained the first come first serve policy. I had told them about the 2001 auction rate. At some place in Delhi, they said (spectrum) should have been given to Tata, but you did not give to Tata (inaudible). Only in that place there was a little hiccup.

JS: Yesterday, you said something like Tata did not want it, sir….

A. Raja: What I am saying is they did not press me, but they didn’t want it, and they asked me to put on hold. What they are saying is, even if Tata asked you to put on hold, why didn’t you do your job?

JS: Which year was it given, sir?

A. Raja: It was given in 2008 sir (inaudible) but he (Tata) didn’t insist it, but he went to another plan, then he changed it. What am I supposed to say?

JS: CM asked this morning. I told him everything went well, I told him whatever you told me. He asked about today. I said they have gone today, and we can finish it by forenoon. I will talk to him now.

A. Raja: (inaudible) you are on a different cell(phone) right?

JS: I will come sir, I will call you back.

Although the audio clips have shocked many, DMK and the Tamil mainstream media seem to be unperturbed. DMK has not commented anything about the audio clips and avoids the topic when reporters ask about it. Without condoning or condemning, the party members are maintaining a Stoic silence which they seem to have mastered over the years. The links to tapes 1 and 2 are given below.

“Annamalai Is An Extremist, Paradesi”: How DMK Propagandists ‘The Hindu’ N. Ram And ‘Nakkheeran’ Gopal Spewed Venom And Exhibited Anti-Democratic Attitude

Journalists and representatives from various journalist associations expressed their dissent over Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai’s alleged derogatory remarks towards them. The protest, held at Valluvar Kottam in Chennai on 25 January 2024, was triggered by Annamalai’s comments directed at senior television journalist Karthigaichelvan of News 18 Tamil Nadu.

This arose as Annamalai shared his opinion that DMK scion and Minister Udhayanidhi  Stalin wasn’t subjected to challenging questions during an interaction and compared it to a friendly match. However, his use of a colloquial Tamil term to convey this opinion was perceived as derogatory by certain journalists. Despite the controversy, Annamalai declined to apologize for his language, and in response to a protest by journalists, he issued a statement cum video explaining that the ‘first layer of the ‘DMK onion’ had been activated.

N. Ram’s Anti-Democratic Elitism

During the meeting, N Ram, Director of The Hindu Group, urged journalists to unite and create a “minimum common program” against Annamalai. He suggested that criminal proceedings should be initiated against Annamalai, describing him as a repeated offender with a motive. Ram emphasized that only Karthigaichelvan could initiate this. Further, Ram advocated not giving publicity to Annamalai, labeling him as an extremist who should be deprived of oxygen (publicity). Ram aligned himself with the ruling dmk government’s stance, highlighting his previous publications in newspapers and articles, showering adulations for the late DMK patriarch Karunanidhi.

Nakkheeran Gopal’s Third-Rated Speech

Nakkheeran Editor R Gopal during the speech called Annamalai as ‘Paradesi’ (a casteist slur word that denotes a wastrel or wanderer), goat, and suggested his media team use beep instead of his name and decided to boycott Annamalai. Finally, he requested all media organizations to boycott him like his organization saying this was an attempt to ‘divide and rule’ policy.

Our editorial team has decided that from here one we shouldn’t write about “goat” (referring to Annamalai).” and goes on to show the cover image of the last issue of his magazine in which Annamalai’s depicted derogatorily.

Now also our folks are recording a video. Now you’ve mentioned that paradesi’s name. I’m now thinking how to remove that name. Because we’ve decided that his name should not come. Then people will come and mock saying you’ve put his name. So, I’ve to tell them to put beep.”, he said.

R Gopal has been vocal in supporting the DMK government and has consistently dedicated himself to promoting fake news and Hindu hatred on numerous occasions to bolster the DMK.

The True Face Of The DMK Stooges

Malini Parthasarathy, former Chairperson and Editor at The Hindu upon resigning from her position at the publishing group, attributed her decision to the shrinking space for her editorial perspectives. She mentioned her ongoing efforts to free The Hindu’s narrative from deeply ingrained ideological biases and voiced apprehensions about the diminishing opportunities for her initiatives in recent times, leading her to make the challenging decision to step down.

Earlier during the aftermath of Cyclone Michaung television reports extensively covered the significant damage in affected regions. In contrast, print media The Hindu overlooked the challenges faced by Chennai and published news about Parliament proceedings and an honor killing on the state of its front page covering the government’s mismanagement.

In another instance The Hindu published an article titled “Not clear if Sengol was presented to Mountbatten, says Thiruvavaduthurai Adheenam head,” quoting the Adheenam pontiff questioning the significance of presenting the Sengol to Lord Mountbatten since he was leaving India and handing over powers. The article suggested a lack of evidence supporting Mountbatten and Rajaji’s involvement in the power transfer during the Sengol event. This information became fodder for the Congress to criticize the Modi Government for celebrating the Sengol. the Adheenam head’s agreement when it was pointed out that there was no evidence indicating the scepter as a symbol of the “transfer of power” and issued a statement after some time only when Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh claimed that the Sengol, symbolizing the transfer of power from the British to India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, the issue debunked.

Not only The Hindu but also the employees were seen to spread hatred of Hindu gods when Hindustan Times journalists tweeted about the Hindu God Krishna sparked a series of mocking comments about Hindu Gods from journalists at The Wire and The Hindu. Suprakash Majumdar, a freelance journalist with The Wire, tweeted suggesting that “Lord Hanuman had a gay crush on Lord Rama,” followed by a question asking for others’ opinions on the matter. In response, a journalist named Suchitra from The Hindu mocked the sentiment, suggesting that Hindus would now claim to be the most tolerant religion, and urged Majumdar not to provide them with ‘ammunition.’

He has also faced criticism for allegedly pursuing a biased agenda in his reporting under the guise of journalism. Various individuals have called out the newspaper for engaging in partisan reporting, spreading misleading information, and using doctored images in coverage of the Rafale deal. The Hindu’s Frontline, published an “exclusive interview” with Moussa Abu Marzouk, the head of Hamas’ international relations office in Doha, Qatar, raising concerns about the outlet’s credibility.

Previously during COVID, The Hindu published an article with the headline “India’s COVID-19 scenario very very difficult, says Danish Prime Minister,” suggesting deep concern from Denmark regarding the COVID-19 situation in India. However, the Danish Prime Minister had merely acknowledged the challenges India faces in controlling the pandemic, stating, “The situation is very very difficult for you.” Denmark’s Ambassador to India, H. E. Freddy Svane, responded by calling out The Hindu’s news as twisted and untrue, clarifying the misrepresentation of the Danish Prime Minister’s statement.

Earlier, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, The Hindu released an article with the title “India’s COVID-19 scenario very very difficult, says Danish Prime Minister,” implying significant worry from Denmark regarding India’s COVID-19 situation. However, Denmark’s Ambassador to India, H. E. Freddy Svane, denounced The Hindu’s report as distorted and false. He clarified the misrepresentation of the Danish Prime Minister’s statement in response to the article.

The newspaper has earlier faced accusations of disseminating false information, anti-Hindu propaganda and left-leaning ideologies marking a departure from its once impartial journalistic reputation. Under its current directorship, it openly promotes a narrative opposing the principles of freedom of speech and expression.

The articles in Nakkheeran were criticized previously for being a source of misinformation targeting migrant workers. Previously, Nakkheeran’s articles faced criticism for disseminating misinformation, particularly targeting migrant workers. One notable instance involves a misunderstanding regarding Uttar Bharat Bhavan, inaccurately portraying it as a refuge for migrant workers. Contrary to this portrayal, the Bhavan functions as a hub for individuals from North India, similar to Tamil Nadu House or Puducherry House in New Delhi for residents of those respective regions. The articles also contained inaccuracies about the e-SHRAM card, falsely implying that it provides ration cards and voter IDs to cardholders. In reality, the e-SHRAM card serves as a centralized database, offering social security benefits to workers in the unorganized sector. Launched by the Modi government in 2021, the e-SHRAM scheme has garnered 28.6 crore sign-ups since its inception.

Additionally, a video associated with Nakkheeran falsely claims that the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) permits candidates from other states to obtain jobs in Tamil Nadu’s public service.

In 2018, Nakkheeran Gopal published a story in his magazine casting aspersions on former Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit linking him with a sex scandal that happened in Madurai Kamaraj University at the behest of one Nirmala Devi. He was apprehended and subsequently released for charges of defamation, Notably the DMK came to his aid and condemned the ruling ADMK government under the guise of supporting freedom of expression.

Gopal had linked Tamilnadu BJP leader H. Raja with the Principal of the Sakthi International School where a class 12 student died under mysterious circumstances. Raja came down heavy on Nakkheeran Gopal calling him a ‘mini Mallya’ taking a jibe at his non-repayment of the loan.

DMK’s Henchmen

Whenever the DMK holds authority and faces significant criticism it cannot tolerate, a sequence of crackdowns ensues targeting political activists, journalists, and social media participants who openly oppose the DMK and the Dravidian ideology. These actions are often carried out either under the guise of police measures or through individuals associated with the DMK, referred to as B-teams, D-Stocks, or purportedly sympathetic journalists.

Let’s start with Dravidianist supporter journalist Kathigaichelvan, Editor of News18 Tamil, in which the entire narrative started. He received negative criticism for soft questions that were asked to the DMK scion Udhayanidhi Stalin and a few years ago, he had interviewed MK Stalin in a similar fashion which also drew the ire of the public for not asking pointed questions. The father-son duo both had similar questions including fitness, campaigns, how he prepares himself, Do they have time for it, etc.

Senthil Vel who portraying himself as an ‘unbiased’ journalist currently hosted the second Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) Youth Wing Conference held at Salem, was implicated in spreading false information and promoting caste-based discord. He falsely asserted that the accused teacher, linked to a sexual harassment case, belonged to the ‘Iyer’ caste, thereby perpetuating the dissemination of misleading details. It is worth noting that Maridhas, a popular vlogger, had previously accused Senthil of favoring a specific ideology and political party. News 18 Tamil Nadu decided to part ways with him in light of these allegations.

BR Aravindakashan from Sathiyam News, a Dravidian stockist journalist echoed similar partial truths endorsed by the DMK Minister. He went on to suggest that the Central government was seeking retribution against the Tamil people by providing fewer funds to Tamil Nadu. However, vigilant netizens promptly pointed out the flaw in the Minister’s argument, highlighting that the Khelo India scheme operates on demand, and since the Tamil Nadu government did not request funds from the Central Government, it received a proportionally smaller share of the overall allocated funds.

During the widespread flooding in Chennai, D-stocks attempted to support their narrative but faced criticism from netizens. In a particular incident, Aadhan Tamil journalist Madhesh wrote, “Chennai has flooded for one day rain. Commuters are suffering,” only to later delete the post for reasons unknown. Several users speculated that the journalist removed the tweet due to his perceived support for the DMK.

In another controversy, Tamil Nadu conferred the Kottai Ameer Communal Harmony Award on Mohammed Zubair of Alt News for “rendering various services to promote communal harmony”. But Zubair has a track record of disseminating false information and promoting propaganda against Hindus. He was responsible for sharing an edited clip of former BJP leader Nupur Sharma’s statements, resulting in the widespread chanting of ‘Sar Tan Se Juda’ slogans in various parts of the country and violent attacks against Nupur Sharma. This misinformation campaign also led to the tragic deaths of several innocent Hindus who had expressed support for Nupur Sharma. Additionally, Zubair operated a Facebook page named “Unofficial Sususwamy,” where he engaged in mockery and ridicule of Hindu deities and symbols. He later deleted this Facebook account and removed certain controversial tweets that were perceived as offensive to Hindu sentiments.

Finally, Iyan Karthikeyan who heads Fact Checking Unit (FCU) was under the administrative purview of Special Programme Implementation. The state government opted to establish a dedicated Social Media Monitoring Centre within the police department, to combat fake news and misinformation on social media platforms. Instead, it established a Fact Checking Unit (FCU) under the administrative purview of Special Programme Implementation, which was given to Iyan Karthikeyan, a YouTuber associated with Dravidian ideologies and recognized for promoting DMK propaganda.

“Not Pleased By Jai Shri Ram Kolams On Jan 22”: TN Cong Leader Posts Video Of Husband’s Rant On Ram Mandir Celebrations

Tamil Nadu Congress General Secretary Lakshmi Ramachandran today drew sharp criticism online after posting a video of her husband criticising his neighbours for celebrating the Pran-Prathishtha ceremony in Ayodhya.

Interestingly, she disclosed the person’s identity only when specifically asked by a netizen. Superficially, the video gives the impression that a common man gave the speech without any political agenda.

In the 4:47-minute video, Ramachandran’s husband, Swaminathan, addresses community members during a Republic Day celebration. He tells the Hindus who celebrated the Pran-Prathishtha of Lord Ram in Ayodhya’s temple on January 22, stating that they “really irked” and “bothered” him.

“There has to be something that stops us from celebrating divisive things, such as what happened on Jan 22,” Swaminathan says in the video. “I saw calls of Jai Sri Ram on Kolam designs that day. And I was not pleased.”

He also tells the Hindu residents not to pass on their “wrong values” to their children. “That’s why I am talking to children mainly. We want to look at the future and I hope our children do not take the wrong lessons from what we do. Even though we might do it to the best of intentions. I am not questioning intentions here. But there has to be something that stops us from celebrating divisive things, that is, such as what happened on Jan 22.”

While he asserts he has no issue celebrating festivals like Diwali, Eid, and Christmas, Swaminathan argues that “we should really think twice before celebrating something like that (Pran-Prathishtha)”. He claims to be speaking on behalf of “Muslim friends in the community, as well as a few minorities who are not happy with that event.”

Ramachandran shared the video on her social media with the caption, “A speech delivered in our residential community’s Republic Day celebrations! Long live Secular Indian Republic!”. The primary tweet does not mention her relationship with the speaker. An impressionable reader may be misled to believe that this speech reflects the opinions and sentiments of society.

When a netizen flatteringly asked Ramachandran, “Wow…who is he ? TV actor ?”, she introduced Swaminathan as “Tamil Medai nadaga nadigar” (meaning “actor on the Tamil stage”) and her husband of 20 years.

Swaminathan also justifies his stance by referencing his acting career and familiarity with religious texts. He says he played the roles of Manikavasagar, Ramanujan, and Aurangazeb on stage. He also talks about his knowledge of holy texts, claiming to know verses from the Quran, Thiruvasagam, and Diva Pramandam.

“There is beauty in celebrating events together,” Swaminathan says. “But not that event because many of the children may not know this. But some of us who were there in 1992 know very well how this all started. In what kind of divisive way this started. Some of you might want me to go back 400 years. Well, I don’t want to look at history like that.”

The video has sparked widespread condemnation online, with many criticising Swaminathan’s remarks as insensitive and divisive.

This video drew hundreds of comments in criticism. Some of them are as follows:

Kerala Governor Stages Sudden Wayside Sit-in Protest Seeking Arrest Of SFI Members

Kerala Guv resists SFI attacks
Kerala Guv staged a sudden roadside sit-in protest against SFI activists.

Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan took an unusual step to express his displeasure with the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) activists who allegedly attacked his car during a protest against him. Khan boldly got out of his vehicle and sat in front of a wayside shop on the busy MC Road, demanding the arrest of the activists that he claimed were being protected by the police.

The Governor left the roadside tea shop after an hour when the police registered a case against the protesters affiliated with the ruling CPI(M) party. The SFI members were staging a black-flag protest against Khan, who was on way to attend a function at an Aashram near Kottarakkara.

“I am not upset about the black flag protest. But I was worried when they hit my vehicle,” he reportedly said.

Khan confronted the SFI activists and subsequently took a chair from a nearby shop and sat down, refusing to move until the agitators were arrested.

“I will not leave from here. Police are giving them protection,” Khan is seen angrily telling onlookers.

The standoff continued for some time, with a large crowd gathering at the spot, including police officials and local residents.

“If the police are the ones breaking the law, who is going to uphold the law,” he asked the policemen.

This latest incident is a fresh addition to the ongoing tussle between Khan and the Left government in the state, which has been marked by disagreements over various issues, particularly the functioning of universities in the state and Khan’s refusal to sign specific bills passed by the assembly.

The tension peaked earlier this week when Khan abruptly ended his customary policy address to the Kerala Assembly after just two minutes amidst protests from the ruling party MLAs.

The SFI has been at the forefront of protests against Khan, accusing him of using his authority as Chancellor of universities in the state to appoint nominees of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to key positions in universities.

Khan has denied these allegations.

“Congress Not Running For People But To Get Seats From Us, They Don’t Work Or Do Good For People”: I.N.D.I. Ally DMK Min Rajakannappan On Congress

In a recent general meeting organised by the Puducherry DMK Student’s Wing on the occasion of Anti-Hindi Imposition Day to honour the martyrs, Tamil Nadu Higher Education and Backward Welfare Minister Raja Kannappan passionately expressed support for DMK Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, labelling him as the number one Chief Minister in India. The minister urged students to rally behind Stalin to ‘uphold and safeguard’ the Dravidian movement.

Kannappan emphasised the desire to extend the Dravidian model of governance practiced in Tamil Nadu to Puducherry. Taking a swipe at Puducherry Chief Minister Rangasamy, Kannappan accused the local government of lacking principles and theories, asserting that the Chief Minister tends to make promises without fulfilling them. He questioned the credentials of opposition leader Annamalai to criticise M.K. Stalin’s administration, asserting that no opposition forces could undermine the achievements of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister.

Speaking on the political landscape, Kannappan asserted that the ‘lotus’, (symbolising the BJP), will not bloom in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, reiterating the call for DMK governance in Puducherry. While acknowledging the presence of Congress as an ally, Kannappan urged the party to work harder and be more people-centric, criticising the tendency of Congress to engage actively only during elections. In a video clipping of the event that went viral, he is seen saying, “Congress runs the party only to snatch seats. What is the use of that? They are not running a party for toiling and working for the benefit of the people, but they come at the time of elections, peep, this doesn’t work with the people. That is why the BJP is doing all this show, they cannot do that with us. We will beat them up if they come to TN. They cannot play here, we (DMK) will take care of the BJP.”

This statement led to speculation that all is not well with the I.N.D.I.Alliance especially since Bihar Chief Minister and their ally Nitish Kumar has dropped massive hints at quitting the alliance and raising doubts about him joining the NDA.

“My Father Not A Sanghi, Only A Person With Humanity Would Do Lal Salaam”: Aishwarya Rajinikanth Stokes Controversy

The audio launch event for Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s third directorial venture, “Lal Salaam,” took place on 26 January 2024, at Sri Sairam Institute of Technology in Chennai. The film stars Vikranth and Vishnu Vishal in lead roles, and actor Rajinikanth makes an extended cameo as Moideen Bhai. The musical score is by AR Rahman, and Lyca Productions is producing the film, which is scheduled for theatrical release on 9 February 2024.

During the event, Aishwarya Rajinikanth addressed the personal attacks her father, Rajinikanth, faced on social media. She clarified, “People label my father as a sanghi. I want to assert here that Rajinikanth is not a sanghi. If he were, he wouldn’t have been a part of “Lal Salaam”. Rajinikanth became emotional and teary-eyed upon hearing these words.

AR Rahman, when speaking, said , “Rajinikanth transcends religious boundaries”.

Regarding “Lal Salaam”, Rajinikanth shared, “My character, Moideen Bhai, is inspired by a real person from a southern district, and the film depicts an incident from 1992. To protect his identity from opportunists, it remains undisclosed”. The actor then discussed religious harmony and the fundamental principles of Hinduism.

Calling Out The Hypocrisy Of Rajinikanth

Our special article in The Commune penned on why Rajini is perceived as an opportunist rather than a ‘Sanghi’, citing instances where he has, on multiple occasions, portrayed animosity against Hindus in his movies.

Particularly Rajinikanth in ‘Lal Salaam’ takes on the role of Moideen Bhai, portraying the character of a virtuous Muslim, while another antagonist, Adithya Menon is depicted with a distinctive red tilak. In a pivotal scene, Moideen Bhai, observing the presence of Senthil clad in a saffron shawl, remarks, “What have you guys done! You’ve blended politics with religion! You’ve injected venom into the innocent children playing!”

The question arises whether there will be a scene featuring Muslim players engaging in namaz on the field, similar to Pakistani players. The answer remains uncertain, but considering that the film is being released by Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giants, it is reasonable to assume the outcome.

While it’s acknowledged that not every actor can control the script of their film, Rajinikanth, being a highly popular figure, holds significant influence. Fans take his messages seriously, and he has the power to select scripts or shape them to convey his desired messages. Despite this, he chose to participate in projects like “Kaala,” demonizing Ram Bhakts, “Petta,” attempting to portray Bajrang Dal negatively, and “Lal Salaam,” collaborating with another leftist-Dravidianist propagandist. Giving him the benefit of the doubt would be akin to self-deception. Despite Rajinikanth’s outwardly spiritual and god-fearing persona, one must not isolate his real-life beliefs from his reel-life portrayals.

Netizens reacted on social media regarding whether he is can be called a “Sanghi” or if he is an opportunist.

Another netizen posted a video of Rajinikanth’s visit to the residence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow on August 2023. In the video, Rajinikanth respectfully bowed and touched Yogi Adityanath’s feet, but this gesture sparked criticism and ridicule.

“If Nakkheeran Gopal Had As Much Brains As His Moustache His Magazine Would Sell, N. Ram Campaigned Against BJP In Harbour”: Annamalai Slams DMK Propagandists Masquerading As Journalists

Journalists and representatives from various journalist associations expressed their dissent over Tamil Nadu BJP president K Annamalai’s alleged derogatory remarks towards them. The protest, which took place at Valluvar Kottam in Chennai on 25 January 2024, was prompted by Annamalai’s comments directed at senior television journalist Karthigaichelvan of News 18 Tamil.

Annamalai expressed his view that Udhayanidhi wasn’t subjected to challenging questions during an interaction, likening it to a friendly match. However, his choice of a colloquial Tamil term to convey this opinion was perceived as derogatory by certain journalists. Despite the controversy, Annamalai declined to offer an apology for his use of language.

TN BJP chief Annamalai responded to the protest staged by journalists against him. He stated, “N.Ram associated with The Hindu, actively campaigned against the BJP candidate Vinoj Selvam in the Harbour constituency, going to the extent of distributing pamphlets. Today he is speaking as if he is a centrist.”

He added,“The predicament in Tamil Nadu lies in the fact that individuals like you toil tirelessly under the scorching sun, earning meagre amounts like ₹10,000 or ₹15,000 through their hard work. Wherever we are, you gather news diligently. So, if you people criticise us, we will accept it, you are fully eligible, you have the right to do it, but it becomes problematic when journalists, relying solely on the ruling party, criticise us without contributing anything themselves. 14 people are talking there on the stage, 10 people (the media house’s camerapersons) listening to it – 30 people are putting up a protest. Nakkheeran Gopal’s statement is wrong, and I am not going to provide an explanation to address that. If Nakkheeran Gopal had brains equivalent to that of his moustache, the progress of Nakkheeran magazine would have been remarkable. That is why Nakkheeran is Tamil Nadu’s No 1 yellow journal, it is our fate.”

Dravidian Stocks Politicize Ilaiyaraaja’s Daughter Bhavatharini’s Demise; Post Vile Comments Attacking Ilaiyaraaja, Modi And Lord Ram

Ilaiyaraaja’s daughter and singer Bhavatharini passed away on 25 January 2024 due to cancer.

While the entire nation joins him in mourning for his irreplaceable loss, some Dravidian Stocks found the right time to politicize the situation. Comments from the Dravidian Stocks range from accusing Ilaiyaraaja’s bad karma for supporting BJP, linking his “bad” fortune with Modi, questioning his descendants, posting derogatory pictures of Sri Ram, and saying Sri Ram failed to save his daughter despite Ilaiyaraaja praying to him.

It’s common for people from the Dravidian background to make such comments when someone who supports their opposite ideas dies. Even TN Sports minister Udhayanidhi Stalin had remarked during his 2021 election canvassing that Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley ‘died due to Modi’s torture and pressure’ making light of their demise. This comment did not go down well with the daughters of both leaders, and they hit back with strongly worded comments against Udhayanidhi.

Below are some vile comments posted by Dravidian stock attacking Ilaiyaraaja.

We warn our readers that some of these comments may be highly inappropriate.

ASI Report Of Gyanvapi Site Reveals Broken Idols Of Ganesha, Hanuman, Shiva Lingam

ASI survey confirms there was a grand Hindu temple under Gyanvapi

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) survey report on the Gyanvapi Mosque has infused a fresh ray of hope for Hindus. Photographs from the 839-page document provide irrefutable evidence of a pre-existing Hindu temple beneath the mosque’s imposing structure.

The detailed evidence contains pictures of revered Hindu deities like Hanuman, Ganesha, and Nandi lying desecrated within the mosque complex. The photos also reveal the discovery of several yoni pattas (the base of a Shiva ling) and a Shiva linga with its bottom part or base missing.

Advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain, representing the Hindu side, described the report’s documentation of the positions and measurements of idols at a press conference last evening.

This inscription leaves no room for doubt – a grand Hindu temple, Adivishwara, stood tall on this very spot before its brutal destruction,” Jain said.

A total of 34 inscriptions were recorded during the current inspection, and 32 estampages were taken. These are inscriptions on the stones of pre-existing Hindu temples which have been reused during construction of the existing structure,” Jain stated, adding that the inscriptions are in Devanagari, Grantha, Telugu and Kannada scripts.

He added that debris of idols of Hindu deities and remnants of pillars from the older temple were used in the mosque’s construction. He read out specific details within the report, including those describing inscriptions in Persian on stone slabs that provide an account of the temple’s demolition during the reign of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in the 17th century.

A sandstone slab with Persian text was found during the ASI survey of Gyanvapi.

According to Jain, these findings strongly suggest the existence of a grand Hindu temple at the site of the Gyanvapi mosque. “This evidence indicates that when Aurangzeb demolished the temple of Adivishwara in the 17th century, a grand temple existed there,” he added.

These inscriptions contain three names of deities: Janardhana, Rudra, and Umesvara. The report noted that terms such as Maha-muktimandapa mentioned in three inscriptions are significant.

However, Akhlaq Ahmed, representing the Anjuman Anjamiya Masjid Committee, has categorically refuted the Hindu side’s claims. He dismissed the report’s findings as mere reiterations of what an Advocate Commission discovered during previous court-mandated proceedings.

The only difference is that ASI has written its measurements this time. But the Hindu side’s claims are unfounded and lack expert validation,” said Ahmed.

Ahmed also questioned the Hindu side’s expertise in determining the age of the building materials. He pointed out that the ASI report itself does not specify the age of the stones.

Regarding mentioning Hindu deities in the ASI report’s photographs, Ahmed maintained that the idols found are not authentic.

Following an order of the district court passed on July 21 last year, the ASI carried out a scientific survey of the Gyanvapi premises to determine whether the mosque was constructed over a preexisting Hindu temple structure. The ASI submitted its survey report to the district court in a sealed cover on December 18.

Fmr Editor Of The Hindu, Malini Parthasarathy, Condemns The Publication For Their Stand On Annamalai

Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party Chief K Annamalai had criticised allegedly biased journalists while explaining layers of the DMK onion at a book release function in 2022. He accused the first layer of journalists of promoting the Dravidian model and criticised their response to civilised debates. Following his comments on News18 Tamil Editor Karthigaichelvan’s interview of DMK Sports Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin earlier in January 2023, Annamalai refused to apologise for calling the interview ‘toothless.’ Journalists demanded an apology and planned a protest. Subsequently, Annamalai posted a video highlighting the alleged biases of certain journalists, emphasising his stand against biased reporting.

A protest meeting at Valluvar Kottam in Chennai, attended by senior journalists and journalist association office-bearers, strongly condemned the “inappropriate” comments made by TNBJP chief Annamalai against media persons.

N. Ram, Director of The Hindu Group Publishing Private Limited, emphasised that Annamalai’s remarks were not an isolated incident and suggested filing a criminal defamation case against him while advocating for limiting his publicity. Ram highlighted that even prominent BJP leaders like Vajpayee, Advani, and Modi refrained from making such derogatory comments.  Ram also said, “.. they say we must starve them of oxygen. I am not saying he (Annamalai) is a terrorist but he is an extremist. He is behaving that way. So we must not give him that oxygen. We are not asking for his removal from the BJP, that is not our business. We condemn your offence, if you do not mend your ways, then we will think about it. He cannot just issue an apology for a formality and continue business as usual.”

Nakkheeran Editor R.R. Gopal announced a media boycott of the BJP leader, accusing him of employing a ‘divide and rule’ strategy.

Other senior journalists and media organisation representatives joined in condemning Annamalai’s “insensitive” remarks, highlighting the need for responsible discourse in political leadership and media relations.

Following this, Malini Parthasarathy, Director at Kasturi & Sons Ltd., former Chairperson of The Hindu Group, and former Editor at The Hindu, expressed her concerns on the issue on her X handle. She wrote that as a significant stakeholder in The Hindu, she felt compelled to address what she perceived as biased and prejudiced news reports on their pages. Malini criticised the journalists in Chennai for attacking the TN BJP chief, especially the call to blackout coverage, deeming it unacceptable for any reputable news organisation. She emphasised that it would be a violation of the right to freedom of expression if The Hindu complies with the boycott call. Malini pointed out the absence of condemnation by the same journalists for the Madurai police booking the editor and publisher of Dinamalar over their report on the prohibition of various celebrations across Tamil Nadu for Ram Mandir Pran Prathishta. She clarified that her comments were not a defence of freedom of expression as claimed by those who consider themselves guardians of a free press.
