Mega Meltdown Of Congress & Its Supporters As Modi Govt Declares Constitution Violence Day

On 12 July 2024, the Modi government announced that every year 25 June will be observed as “Samvidhaan Hatya Diwas” to remember how then PM Indira Gandhi imposed Emergency in 1975 on the same day and strangled the soul of democracy. Union Home Minister Amit Shah took to his official X handle and wrote, “On June 25, 1975, the then PM Indira Gandhi, in a brazen display of a dictatorial mindset, strangled the soul of our democracy by imposing the Emergency on the nation. Lakhs of people were thrown behind bars for no fault of their own, and the voice of the media was silenced. The Government of India has decided to observe the 25th of June every year as ‘Samvidhaan Hatya Diwas.’ This day will commemorate the massive contributions of all those who endured the inhuman pains of the 1975 Emergency. #SamvidhaanHatyaDiwas”

This led to a severe meltdown among Congress members and supporters. Here is a look at their meltdown.

Jairam Ramesh

Congress member and General Secretary in-charge Communications called the announcement a “headline-grabbing exercise” and took the chance to attack PM, Modi. He called the recent Parliamentary election victory a “moral victory” for the “non-biological” PM

Priyanka Chaturvedi

A former Congress member and current member of Shiv Sena UBT, a Rajya Sabha MP, and Deputy Leader of the party, Chaturvedi also had a meltdown. She wrote two posts on her X handle on this matter. She claimed the Emergency was applied because there was a Constitutional availability of the clause. She also added, “It can be excesses of emergency and undermining authority to declare it yes or even the political reason for declaring emergency yes but it definitely cannot be death of constitutionality!”

In her next post, she accused Union HM Amit Shah of not choosing priorities properly. She parrotted Sardesai’s lines and wrote, “As of July 2023, India’s median age was 28.2 years HM Amit Shah doesn’t want to talk of their unemployment concerns, inflation concerns, paper leak concerns, future concerns But wants to give them a history lesson of what happened when they weren’t even born and something that doesn’t impact their present or future Talk of priorities.”

Sagarika Ghose

TMC RS MP Sagarika Ghose and wife of journalist Rajdeep Sardesai decided to write a pun for a post on the matter. She decided to call the day of announcement of demonetisation as “economic hatya divas” and the day of Babri demolition asitihaas hatya divas”. Very creative!

Self-Proclaimed Journalists

Rajdeep Sardesai

Senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai stated that the majority population of the country was born after the Emergency period and thought talking about the Emergency was “taking them back into the past” and called for “changing the Emergency mindset” – well, only he knows what that means.

Rohini Singh

Journalist Rohini Singh stated there was an undeclared emergency for the past 5 years, were you aware of it?

Another self-proclaimed journalist, Arvind Gunasekar wanted to declare 30 January as “Gandhi Hatya Divas”. Well!

Deputy Editor of The Hindu, Vijaita Singh was “quoting facts”. She spotted that there was no English translation of “Samvidhaan Hatya Divas” in the official gazette and that it will be known by its Hindi name in English letters.” What a discovery!

A Congress TaskForce member had a very confused reaction after the announcement. He called for ban of RSS after I.N.D.I Alliance came to power and then said that if they do come to power, the alliance will not “rename” days. Well, who will tell him!

Here are some more reactions from Congress supporters which we are not able to make sense of – if you can, do let us know.

A Congress supporter named Sachin Tandon called it a “half a brain” attempt – well, even we are not sure what it means.

Here is another supporter who has written half-baked content on the announcement. They wrote, “how can it be samvidhaan hatya hen the emergency was in the constitution. has anyone in the current government actually touched the constitution or glanced through it”

Another came up with a conspiracy theory that it might actually be the BJP’s plan!

Yet another stated that provisions for the Emergency always existed in the Constitution. He also called it stupid and that the Constitution was always dynamic.

Another supporter named Rakhi Tripathi decided to call 30 January “Kaala diwas” or Black Day and wanted to announce Nathuram Godse as “independent India’s first terrorist”.

A Congress supporter who happens to be a “journalist” misunderstood HM’s post about observing the day as “Samvidhaan Hatya Diwas” and thought the government was “celebrating” the day!

“Palani And Marudhamalai Are Not Lord Murugan’s Abodes, The Deities There Are Not Murugan But Siddhars”, Says Self-Anointed Dravidianist ‘Spiritual Speaker’ Suki Sivam

Suki Sivam, a renowned Tamil orator, writer, and self-proclaimed scholar known for subtly intertwining Dravidianist ideology into his spiritual talks, is once again under fire from netizens. He is facing criticism for allegedly spreading a false narrative during his recent interview on a YouTube channel.

Speaking to a YouTube channel, the focus of the interview was on exploring Suki Sivam’s views on politics and religion.

While Suki Sivam is widely recognized as a spiritual speaker, of late he has been called out for mocking Hindu beliefs in certain discourses, especially on platforms associated with the DMK and Dravidianists. It’s worth noting that Suki Sivam gained popularity through the TV show “Indha Naal Iniya Naal” on Sun TV, which is associated with the DMK family.

The host first queried Suki Sivam about the confusion surrounding his identity in spiritual discourse—whether he is a spiritualist, a rationalist, or both. Suki Sivam described himself simply as Suki Sivam, suggesting that spirituality involves a state of awakening that can sometimes isolate individuals from others. He quoted Osho, stating, “You cannot live in the world without idiocy,” seemingly implying that he adjusts between awakened states, compromise, and occasional folly as he interacts with people.

Unsatisfied with Suki Sivam’s response regarding his spiritual or rational stance, the host directly confronted him. Mentioning spiritual figures like Anandarama Deekshidar, Balakrishna Sashtri, and others did not shift away from spiritual discourse, the host pointed out that Suki Sivam is increasingly criticized for emphasizing rationalist leaning. Suki Sivam acknowledged this criticism and attempted to explain that in the past, superstition prevailed. However, the host countered this assertion even before Suki Sivam uttered the word ‘superstition’, leading Suki Sivam to construct a narrative.

Suki Sivam then argued that in history even though spiritualists and politicians influenced each other but maintained distinct roles. He claimed that politicians have appropriated religion, exclaiming, “The politicians have hijacked religion from me, Suddenly they came running snatched religion from me! No one in this country noticed it; they left their jobs to snatch the religion from my hand, Now, I have to fight to reclaim my child.” He emphasized that politicians’ primary duties are administration, focusing on the nation’s economy, irrigation, employment, health, infrastructure, and culture—not religious affairs. He asserted that he possesses a deeper understanding of religion and firmly believes that politicians should not dictate matters of faith.

When Suki Sivam concluded that the politicians have no business in dictating the matter of faith, the host then pointed out that in Tamil Nadu particular groups are repeatedly ridiculing the faith and teasing, belittling, and insulting the gods indirectly indicating the DMK and the Dravidar Kazhagam. Immediately to buttress the DMK and the Dravidianists, Suki Sivam said, “Those politicians should be defeated in the elections, only by using the voters, we can send those politicians home. How are they victorious again? In a democracy, the people believe that there is something true in their saying.”

He immediately peddled that,Why should the Upanishads come after the Vedas, is the Vedas alone not enough? There is something lacking in it; to bring it to maturity and it becomes Upanishad. If you read the Vedas and the Upanishads, the difference is that in the Vedas there are a lot of prayers and quests, but in the Upanishads, there is wisdom. Now why do the Agamas come after the Vedas and Upanishads to improve a temple system? When implementing this in the society, many confusions come up.” As usual, Suki Sivam constructed a narrative where he described how Hindus historically excluded and discriminated against the downtrodden from temples, later the Mughals and Christians embraced them, resulting in the religion falling into the hands of politicians citing leaders like Narayan Guru and Vivekananda fought for it.

The host then challenged Suki Sivam’s assertion by pointing out that he was referring to Hindu social reformers, while Periyar was an atheist. However, Suki Sivam quickly countered by buttressing E.V. Ramasamy Naicker (EVR), stating, “You should thoroughly examine EVR. Initially, he put his hands on the caste system, then identified its proponents behind caste, attacked it, and then attacked god. In a statement, he said, ‘Is it my fate to speak about it, they made me talk without any other option,’ His focus was societal reform rather than religion.”

In response, Suki Sivam suggested that certain individuals used gods as a cover to destabilize society, indirectly implicating Brahmins. The host pressed for specifics on who these individuals were, but Suki Sivam tactfully sidestepped, citing legal constraints on disclosure and pledging caution. Eventually, Suki Sivam remarked, “Some individuals drove communities away by hiding behind idols of gods.”

A heated debate then erupted between the host and the self-styled spiritualist Suki Sivam. The host argued that while criticizing religious superstitions is acceptable, targeting and ridiculing Hinduism in the name of atheism is unfair. Suki Sivam countered by pointing out that EVR did not engage in electoral politics, but the host countered this by noting that EVR’s followers are now active in elections. Suki Sivam defended the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), saying its followers now advocate “one race, one god,” but the host dismissed this as merely a strategy to gain votes, claiming that EVR lost the battle as his followers eventually accepted the concept of one God.

This criticism angered Suki Sivam, who questioned why there is still fear surrounding discussions about EVR even after his passing. The host then questioned why Suki Sivam continues to ridicule the Vedas despite them being ancient texts with some flaws. Now without any points to counter Suki Sivam strategically steered the debate into philosophy evading politics and EVR.

Then, in a passionate flow, Suki Sivam expressed his reasons for harboring resentment towards Hinduism, stating with arrogance that, “A group that should have followed and respected me disregarded me and created unnecessary animosity due to my caste. They were unwilling to accept my leadership.” The host swiftly countered, attributing the reason to Suki Sivam’s rhetoric presumably the arrogance.

Suki Sivam then seized the opportunity to criticize a Hindu belief where revered gurus are carried on shoulders during festivals as per the devotees’ wishes. Ironically, Suki Sivam acknowledged this as legal but chose to ridicule it, despite advocating for freedom of speech himself. He said, “I did not stop it, but its idiocy.”

The buttressing of the DMK and Dravidian ideology had been somewhat tolerable until now, but this time, Suki Sivam’s statement surprised everyone. When the host asked Suki Sivam about the applicability of Agamas to the Palani temple, he immediately responded that they would not apply, citing the deity known as Sithanathar Swamy and asserting that Murugan there should be presumably be Bogar the Saint. He went on to state that Palani should not be considered one of the six abodes of Murugan.

Suki Sivam stated, “Is there anywhere where the name Siddhanathar exists? It is because he is the leader of the Siddhars. It would be even weirder if I said why; my assumption is that it must be Bogar. The Murugan at Maruthamalai is known as Maruthamalai Andavar, adorned with a Kudumi on his head and a Keepatchi (Dhoti style). The idol develops as the saints around collude with the idol according to the philosophy of Muruga worship. Similarly, Bogar must have been worshipped on the hill as the leader of the Siddhas. In essence, Palani is not among the six abodes of Murugan.

He continued by suggesting that people are not studying history thoroughly and proposed that the Periyanayaki Amman temple located on the outskirts should be considered as one of the abodes. Suki Sivam then addressed the issue of the flagstaff, reiterating that the Palani temple did not originally have one. This claim was challenged by many, prompting him to reinforce that the flagstaff was erected later during the period of SP Balasubramaniam.

ST Funds Scam Accused Buys Lamborghini Car Worth ₹3.3 Cr With Money Meant For Development Of Scheduled Tribes

The principal accused in the ₹94-crore ST fund scandal reportedly purchased a pre-owned Lamborghini from a Hyderabad dealership, using ₹3.3 crore diverted from funds designated for the development of Scheduled Tribes in Karnataka.

However, this extravagant purchase was short-lived. Law enforcement swiftly tracked the money, located the car, seized it, and returned it to the dealer. They also recovered the misappropriated ₹3.3 crore.

According to insider sources, Satyanarayana Varma, 36, was apprehended by the SIT in Hyderabad on June 13. During the operation, authorities seized ₹8.2 crore linked to the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki ST Development Corporation Ltd.

Varma claimed that the Lamborghini had cost him ₹3.3 crore. Following his arrest in Hyderabad, Varma was brought to Bengaluru for further questioning by the SIT. He allegedly admitted to the purchase during interrogation. SIT officials verified this by contacting the dealership, though they did not disclose specifics such as the model of the vehicle involved.

Previously, on 12 July 2024, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has detained former minister B Nagendra, a Congress MLA representing the Ballari Rural constituency. This arrest is part of the ED’s investigation into an alleged scam at the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation, where approximately ₹88 crore is suspected to have been misappropriated.

Following raids conducted at several locations associated with him from 10 to 12th July , Nagendra was escorted to the ED office in Shantinagar, Bengaluru. He is anticipated to be formally arrested later. Nagendra told reporters, “I have no knowledge of any wrongdoing at the corporation. I maintain my innocence and believe I am being targeted as part of a political plot.”

The alleged scandal surfaced after N. Chandrashekharan, a corporation employee, tragically took his own life on May 26, leaving behind a note accusing the “minister” of involvement in the fund embezzlement. Nagendra, who previously served as the Minister for Scheduled Tribes Welfare in Karnataka’s government, resigned from his post on 6 June 2024.

The investigation into these allegations involves three separate agencies: the State Government’s Special Investigation Team (SIT), the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The SIT has already arrested 11 individuals and recovered ₹14.5 crore believed to be part of the misappropriated funds.

Ancient Shiva Temple Unearthed: Ayalavadi Villagers Restore 1000-Year-Old Shrine

The villagers of Ayalavadi in Tiruvannamalai district have successfully renovated a thousand-year-old Lord Shiva temple buried under the soil near a lake. They also performed pooja to the lingam of Lord Aalavai Sundareswarar.

The Aalavai Sundareswarar Temple, which stood for centuries, is situated by the lake in Ayalavadi village adjacent to Vandavasi. Over time, erosion from the lake has washed away the upper part and sides of the temple, causing it to be gradually buried under the soil as the lake shoreline expanded. Only the temple tower remains, now in ruins. For many years, villagers have been able to access the temple through a single entrance, where only one person at a time could bow down and worship.

In response to this situation, the villagers decided to undertake repairs by excavating the temple and removing the soil that covers its upper parts and sides. Using machinery, they are currently working to uncover these areas, and during this process, people have eagerly come to witness and pay homage to the ancient deity. The local community urges the Tamil Nadu government to promptly inspect the temple, allocate necessary funds, and commence reconstruction work before allowing public worship to resume.

Indian 2 Becomes Dravidian 1 And Ends Up As A Flop Show: Save Your Money & Show ‘Zero Tolerance’ To This Nonsense

A classic example of irony dying a thousand deaths would be Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2. Part-time politician Kamal Haasan, a man in bed with the DMK in real life, donning the cap of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose to fight corruption in reel life as ‘Indian’. It’s not just ironic but also moronic.

Indian (1996) became a blockbuster and still remains a cult classic not just because of Kamal Haasan, the star. There was a genuine attempt to bring out the angst of a common Indian against the corrupt system, that he/she deals with on a day-to-day basis. There was a strong storyline with a fine character arc for Senapathy – from a freedom fighter to a vigilante who wouldn’t hesitate to kill his own son to uphold justice. Exposing the audience to Varma Kalai and a gripping screenplay hooked the audience. Powerful dialogues mouthed by Kamal Haasan struck a chord with people because Kamal wasn’t the hypocrite back then, as he is today. Today people can see through the hypocrisy and propaganda coming from a man who has pledged his soul to the DMK.

The film itself is shoddily made. The team has experimented with multiple looks for Kamal Haasan, none of which add value. The long hair-do of Kamal Haasan seems as realistic as the wig of one Dravidian politician. The screenplay is as loose as the morals of a Dravidianist. And the dual mission theme unnecessarily drags the film to three hours. Nothing, I repeat, nothing at all works in the film. Shankar’s same old wine in a new bottle is not ageing well and has in fact become toxic like the methanol that gets formed in bootleg liquor. The effects of watching Indian 2 will be the same as consuming bootleg liquor – your eyes go blind seeing Kamal’s shoddy make up, your ears will stop working due to the loud noise scored by Anirudh, your mind will go numb due to the non-sensical screenplay, you will feel nauseous on listening to Kamal’s dialogues, you will have trouble breathing because of the obnoxious levels of logic of Varma Kalai.

Picture this – there’s a scene where Kamal performs Varma Kalai on a villain and he gallops like a horse. Seriously? To add to the torturous experience is the virtue-signaller Siddarth who has kept his mouth shut on social issues ever since the DMK came to power. His very presence in the movie is repelling and makes the entire film uninteresting. By the time the film ends you wish Indian Thatha had died along with his son in the first part so that we would’ve been spared this nonsense. The fact that you will stay alive after enduring this celluloid torture will haunt you for the rest of your life.

Shankar should consider retiring from film-making and stick to praising good films on Twitter as his films are becoming cringeworthy that are overshadowing his previous blockbusters. Whether it was I, Endhiran 2.0 or Indian 2, it is evident that his filmmaking has reached saturation. He has no original ideas, no imagination, no writing skills. You begin to wonder if he would’ve become this ‘grandeur’ director if not for Sujatha and Balakumaran. And of course, now that he’s chosen to become an agent to further Dravidian propaganda, he will be able to save the respect he’s earned for himself all these years if he stops making films.

Shankar playing to the gallery of DMK gets exposed when he shows all kinds of freebies except the ‘colour TV’. There’s the usual demonization of Gujaratis, parroting the Dravidianists in ridiculing wealth creators like Ambani and Adani. Shankar, Kamal and co have no guts to talk about the illegal river sand mining and quarrying happening in Tamil Nadu but will go all the way to Gujarat (a BJP ruled state) to touch the issue of illegal mining. Have some spine or a little bit of shame Shankar.

‘Indian 2’ will go down as the weakest film in director Shankar’s portfolio. It feels like a movie made out of a discussion from a woke 2K kid’s WhatsApp group.

Instead of spending your quality time and hard-earned money on this non-sensical film, you might as well consider sending it to the account of The Commune as a token of thanks for this write-up – Click here to pay. Your money will help us in the fight against the Leftist-Dravidianist ecosystem in Tamil Nadu.

DMK Govt’s Sattai Duraimurugan Arrest Backfires, Alleged “Defamatory” Song About Karunanidhi Becomes Viral Meme Stuff

After the arrest of Sattai Duraimurugan, the  the policy outreach / propaganda secretary, in Courtallam on 11 July 2024, netizens criticized the DMK government for stifling freedom of speech. They also shared the song that led to Duraimurugan’s arrest, demonstrating solidarity with the idea that criticism is inherent in a democratic society.

Sattai Duraimurugan was arrested for making critical remarks against the Tamil Nadu government and referring to a song that ridiculed former Chief Minister Karunanidhi, during the final phase of election campaigning in Vikravandi.

The complaint was lodged by Arun, the district organizer of DMK IT Wing in Trichy district, resulting in a case being registered against him by the district cybercrime police under multiple sections.

Upon being presented before Trichy District Judge Swaminathan, Sattai Duraimurugan faced charges under various sections, including the Prevention of Atrocities Act. The police had requested 15 days of judicial custody, which the judge declined, leading to Sattai Duraimurugan’s release.

The DMK, expecting the arrest to quell criticism, instead saw the situation escalate, with a song about Karunanidhi becoming a fodder for memes. Even those unfamiliar with the song quickly became aware of it as it spread across the internet, gaining continuous sharing and engagement.

Social media users expressed their protest against Sattai Duraimurugan’s arrest using hashtags like #சதிகாரன்_கருணாநிதி and #கள்ளத்தனக்கருணாநிதி, sharing the song that allegedly tarnishes the “reputation” of Karunanidhi.

The song quickly gained political traction with many digging out the failures of Karunanidhi’s rule.

It is to be noted, Sattai Duraimurugan, NTK functionary, has been arrested for the second time in a row. His previous arrest stemmed from accusations of criticizing Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin. However, the Supreme Court intervened, granting him bail and criticizing the government in the process.

Previously, on 8 April 2024, the Supreme Court reinstated the bail granted to YouTuber Sattai Duraimurugan, who faces allegations related to derogatory comments about Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin. The court sharply noted, “If we start jailing everyone who makes allegations on YouTube before elections, the number of people incarcerated would be considerable.”

Veeran Azhagumuthu Kone: The Warrior Who Sent The So-Called ‘Marudhanayagam’ Running

The early part of the 18th century was a confusing period in the history of Tamizhagam. Arcot Nawab Muhammed Ali got back his throne after a long battle with his adversary, Chanda Sahib. It was the British who helped him in the Carnatic wars to retain his position of Nawab. He owed a lot of money to the British in place of the war expenses. Unable to pay back, he handed over the right to collect the tax from Polygars (Palayakarars), the chieftains who ruled the southern part of Tamizhagam.

Polygars were already resisting the tax collection from Nawab citing there is no jurisdiction of Nawab in the areas ruled by them. Now that the collection went to the British, it gave them more reasons not to pay the tax. Enraged by this, the East India Company resorted to collecting taxes by force. They had used mercenaries along with their army to subdue the rebels.

Yusuf Khan who was originally known as Marudha Nayagam was one such person employed by the British. He got converted to Islam when he was serving under Chanda Sahib and hence changed his name. Yusuf Khan was sent along with Colonel Heron in 1755 to subdue the Polygars around Madurai and they were fairly successful during the expedition.

After a gap of four years, in 1759, Yusuf Khan was sent again to Madurai as an independent commander and in charge of collecting taxes from the region. This time he had to face the rebellion of Polygars from Nerkattanseval and Ettayapuram

Ettayapuram Palayam was ruled by Jagaveera Rama Ettappar. He was assisted by an able leader Azhagu Muthukon who was ruling the Kattalankulam region. Together they had decided to reject the demands of the British to collect taxes. This had angered Yusuf Khan who had employed cruel methods to collect taxes. He approached Ettayapuram with an army of thousands of soldiers. Due to the treachery of one Kurumalai Thurai, the Ettayapuram army was defeated and Jagaveerarama Ettapar and Azhagumuthukon went to a nearby jungle. There Jagaveera Rama died and Azhagumuthukon made Jagaveera’s son Venkatesa the Polygar of Ettayapuram.

Collecting an army of youth, Azhagumuthukon went to war with Yusuf Khan in Peddanayakanur fort. Unfortunately, his plan was exposed by a minister of Kurumalai. So Azhagumuthukon’s army had to face the British forces led by Yusuf Khan on an open field. Despite being outnumbered by the British forces, they fought bravely. After a fiery battle that lasted more than half a day, Azhagumuthukon was defeated. He along with those who survived the battle were arrested. They were taken to a place called Nadukkatur. Azhagumuthukon was asked to apologize and pay all the taxes due immediately. He refused & categorically rejected Yusuf Khan’s demand.

He was then tied to the mouth of a cannon with iron chains and was blown to pieces. The right hand of the 248 survivors of the battle was cut off by British forces. The Kattalangulam palace and the fort built by Azhagumuthukon were destroyed by the British.

Azhagumuthukon was an early warrior against British authoritarianism. He left a legacy that was an inspiration for the likes of Kattabomman and Marudhu Brothers to take the rebellion against British on a grand scale.

“This (DMK) Govt Tried To Kill Me”: NTK’s Sattai Duraimurugan Says, Massive Humiliation For DMK Govt As Judge Declines Judicial Custody

In a recent development in Tamil Nadu, Sattai Duraimurugan, the policy outreach / propaganda secretary of Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK), has been released after being detained. He was arrested following for making critical remarks against the Tamil Nadu government and referring to a song that ridiculed former Chief Minister Karunanidhi, during the final phase of election campaigning in Vikravandi.

The complaint was lodged by Arun, the district organizer of DMK IT Wing in Trichy district, resulting in a case being registered against him by the district cybercrime police under multiple sections.

Sattai Duraimurugan had referred to an old political song that took political jibes at Karunanidhi. This song has been used in various stages multiple times and at times as campaign song by the AIADMK.

For referring to this song, Sattai Duraimurugan was booked under 196 (1), 192, 353, 111 (1) (2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and SC&ST Prevention of Atrocities Act because of the word ‘Sandala’ that comes in the song.

He was apprehended by the Trichy District Cyber Crime Squad while he was in Tenkasi District Courtallam, and subsequently taken to Trichy for investigation at the District Crime Branch office. The arrest sparked condemnation from opposition parties, including the BJP and AIADMK.

Upon being presented before Trichy District Judge Swaminathan, Sattai Duraimurugan faced charges under various sections, including the Prevention of Atrocities Act. The police had requested 15 days of judicial custody, which the judge declined, leading to Sattai Duraimurugan’s release.

Following his release, Sattai Duraimurugan addressed the media, expressing intentions to petition the court to dismiss the case against him. He also made allegations that the government had plotted to harm him, while denying ownership of remarks attributed to him during a public appearance.

Sattai Duraimurugan, “The DMK government tried to stop me by putting 11 cases continuously, and again they are trying to stop me with a false case. We have presented our arguments in court; this is clearly a fabricated case. In my 14 years of involvement in Naam Tamilar politics, I have consistently advocated for Scheduled Tribes and oppressed communities. There are 1800 videos on YouTube, among which 800 videos document the suffering and agony of marginalized people.”

He highlighted instances where he stood up for marginalized communities, such as addressing the oppression faced by Scheduled Castes in Vengayvayal, Melpadhi, Sankarankovil, and Nanguneri. Duraimurugan accused the DMK government of initiating baseless cases to suppress him.

Regarding the controversy over the song he referenced, Duraimurugan clarified, “The song I mentioned has been used in AIADMK election campaigns for 31 years and is widely available on social media. I was quoting that the DMK grew their party with song like ‘Palayamkottai Sirayinile’ and ‘Udhayanidhi Udhayanidhi’. I was quoting the song that there is a song like this, it is a song of ADMK and Seeman have sung it. I did not make derogatory remarks against any community, particularly I swear that I was unaware ‘Sandaalan’ was a derogatory caste remark. I understood that today. They prosecuted me based on that word, but the honorable judge rightfully dismissed the case, deeming it baseless.”

Duraimurugan claimed that the government conspired to harm him. He alleged that during his arrest, the police him brought in his own car, driven by a visibly intoxicated and drowsy driver, with intentions to stage a deliberate accident near Sriviliputhur. Another driver reportedly intervened, foiling their plan. Duraimurugan asserted that this incident led him to believe the government was attempting to assassinate him.

He further accused that, “This (DMK) government is deliberately planning to kill me,” adding that near the Madurai Vilangulam toll gate, a police officer deliberately caused his car to collide with another vehicle, resulting a lorry hit them from back, him suffering back pain and the driver sustaining a head injury. Following the incident, he claimed, the police changed vehicles and transported him in a different vehicle. Duraimurugan emphasized that these actions demonstrated a lack of security under the current regime and appealed to the judiciary for protection.

Ananda Vikatan Publishes A Scathing Editorial About DMK Rule

During the run up to the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, MK Stalin in a campaign propaganda video said “Law & Order would be under my direct control. Those who do wrong, I am saying again, those who do wrong will be punished“. Contradicting to the words, ever since the ascension of DMK to power, Tamil Nadu has witnessed a disturbing trend of brutal murders, often driven by caste or political motives. These incidents have drawn strong criticism from politicians and the public alike, highlighting perceived failures in the DMK government’s management of law and order in the state

In this context, Ananda Vikatan has published a critique of the ruling DMK government, highlighting recent incidents that demonstrate a worsening decline in law and order in Tamil Nadu.

Sandeeprai Rathore, who has recently been transferred from his position as Chennai City Police Commissioner, took pride by stating that the National Crime Records Bureau report states that Chennai is the safest city for women in the country. He also highlighted a significant drop in murder rates during the press meet of BSP leader Armstrong’s murder case, noting that there were 69 murders between January and June 2023, compared to just 58 murders in the same period this year. These figures suggest a decline in violent crime in the city.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin also commended the police for their swift action, pointing out that those involved in the murder of Bahujan Samaj Party Tamil Nadu President Armstrong were apprehended on the same night as the crime.

The influence of mercenaries has expanded throughout Tamil Nadu without any formal advertising that there is no need to file a police complaint for issues related to money or property, nor do you have to wait for a court decision. Simply approach us, and we will handle the matter and provide an immediate resolution. In this environment, even trivial disputes can escalate to violence. As the mercenary presence has increased, the cost of human life has surprisingly decreased. However, violent and deadly gangs armed with weapons now roam the streets, creating a deeply troubling trend. The situation is alarming, especially given recent high-profile murders, including the killings of Congress Party’s Tirunelveli East District President Jayakumar, PMK’s Shankar in Cuddalore, and ADMK leader Shanmugam in Salem by unknown assailants.

The ability of mercenaries to target political figures raises serious questions about the safety of ordinary citizens. This issue cannot be overlooked by the current government. The spread of drugs is closely linked to the rise in mercenary violence. While the government may not fully grasp this connection, the public is acutely aware of it. This fear is evident in the way people avoid confrontation with reckless drivers, suspecting they might be under the influence of drugs or affiliated with mercenaries.

Since the DMK government assumed power, there has been a noticeable deterioration in law and order, with drug-fueled mercenaries exerting control. The public is skeptical about Chief Minister Stalin’s optimism for 2026, viewing it as unrealistic in the face of growing crime. Immediate and effective measures are necessary to combat drug trafficking and mercenary violence, or else ‘Peace Park’ will remain nothing more than a symbolic phrase.
