Pakistan: Militants Gun Down 7 Labourers In Balochistan

Pakistan: Militants Gun Down 7 Labourers In Balochistan

Seven labourers were killed in an attack in Pakistan’s southwest Balochistan province, the spokesperson of the provincial government said. The attack happened at about 10:00 p.m. local time on Saturday in Panjgur district of the province, Shahid Rind, the spokesperson told Xinhua news agency.

The labourers in Balochistan were temporarily residing in the house of a local contractor for work, which the militants stormed, the spokesperson added. The deceased were construction workers from east Punjab province, sources from the district’s police told Xinhua, adding that the attackers fled the scene following the incident.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the attack and directed the chief minister of Balochistan to take all possible measures to bring the perpetrators to justice. “We are determined to eradicate terrorism from Pakistani soil,” the Prime Minister’s office quoted Sharif as saying in a statement.

Mehbooba Mufti Halts Campaign Over Hezbollah Chief Nasrallah’s Death

Mufti Nasrallah

Mehbooba Mufti, leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had announced the suspension of her election campaign for a day after Nasrallah died in an Israeli airstrike.

The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) on Saturday announced that Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah had been eliminated following a deadly strike on the headquarters of the Lebanese militant group in the southern suburbs of Beirut late Friday. After the elimination of Nasrallah, the Israeli Chief of Staff said, “This is not the end of the toolbox”.

Nasrallah has been associated with Hezbollah since the terror group’s inception in 1982 following the Israeli invasion of Lebanon. In 1992, he took over as the leader of the organisation with an aim to make it a hybrid political-military entity.

“The message is simple, to anyone who threatens the citizens of the State of Israel – we will know how to get to them,” he said while addressing the media on Saturday afternoon. The IDF stated that Nasrallah will no longer be able to “terrorise the world”.

Former Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), Kavinder Gupta, on Sunday, reacted to Mehbooba Mufti cancelling her campaign in support of Lebanon and Palestine following the death of Hezbollah Chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and said that the former CM of the state never takes a stand for issues in her own country.

Former J&K Deputy CM Ravinder Gupta criticised Mufti’s decision, stating, “It’s a good thing you are standing in solidarity, but why don’t you ever take a stand for issues in your own country? When Hindus were being persecuted in Bangladesh, you remained silent.” He further accused Mufti of promoting communal violence and terrorism by supporting such causes, adding, “When Israel was attacked earlier, you didn’t shed any tears, but now these are just crocodile tears.”

NASA-SpaceX Mission To Bring Back Sunita Williams On Way To ISS

The NASA-SpaceX spacecraft, carrying Crew-9 members NASA astronaut Nick Hague (commander) and Roscosmos cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov (mission specialist), was on its way to the International Space Station (ISS) on Sunday, in a mission that aims to bring stranded Indian-origin astronaut Sunita Williams back to Earth in February next year.

The NASA-SpaceX mission safely reached orbit, after it was successfully launched from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. This mission is significant as it marks the first human spaceflight to launch from Space Launch Complex-40. “SpaceX Dragon spacecraft is on its way to the International Space Station (ISS). The new crew arrives at the orbiting lab Sunday, Sept. 29, for a five-month science mission,” NASA posted on X social media platform.

The targeted docking time is approximately 5:30 p.m. Sunday (3.30 am Monday India time), according to NASA. The Crew-9 members will have two empty seats for NASA astronauts Barry Wilmore and Sunita Williams will fill when the spacecraft returns next year. The Crew-9 was initially expected to launch on Thursday but was postponed due to poor weather conditions due to hurricane Helene, currently impacting the Gulf Coast of Florida.

Williams and Willmore travelled to the ISS on an eight-day sojourn on the faulty Boeing’s Starliner. While the Starliner was declared unfit for human travel by NASA, and it returned safely to Earth, the astronaut duo are stuck in space. For the first time since May 2020 test flight, SpaceX launched two astronauts to the ISS on a Dragon spacecraft. In a bid to make room for Williams and Willmore in the orbiting lab, NASA had pulled out two other Crew-9 members — commander Zena Cardman and three-time shuttle flier Stephanie Wilson.

Meetings Between Executive And Judiciary: Justice GR Swaminathan Says It Is Nothing Out Of The Ordinary

Justice Swaminathan

In a recent statement dated September 24, 2024, Justice GR Swaminathan of the Madras High Court shed light on the longstanding tradition of interactions between Indian Chief Justices and political leaders, emphasizing that such meetings are not out of the ordinary. He referenced the autobiographies of two eminent Chief Justices, M.C. Chagla and P.B. Gajendragadkar, to illustrate the nature of these encounters.

Justice Swaminathan highlighted that M.C. Chagla, who served as Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court post-independence, regularly met with then-Chief Minister Morarji Desai to discuss administrative matters. These informal meetings, often held over lunch at Chagla’s residence, enabled swift resolutions to issues related to the judiciary and the government. Chagla humorously noted that Desai became more agreeable to his proposals after a good meal. Despite their camaraderie, the two never played bridge together due to their differing views on playing for stakes.

Justice Swaminathan also recounted an episode from Justice P.B. Gajendragadkar’s tenure as Chief Justice of India, during which he shared a close relationship with Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. Shastri sought Gajendragadkar’s help in evaluating allegations against his cabinet colleague T.T. Krishnamachari (TTK). Despite declining to lead the inquiry due to his personal friendship with TTK, Gajendragadkar recommended another judge for the task. However, Shastri used Gajendragadkar’s name to pressure TTK into resigning, leading to a strained relationship between the two friends. Gajendragadkar later expressed deep regret over the incident.

Justice Swaminathan cited these historical examples to underscore that meetings between the Chief Justice and the Prime Minister, even in private settings, are neither unusual nor improper. He suggested that such interactions have long been a part of India’s judicial and political landscape, helping to resolve administrative matters efficiently.

National Centre Of Excellence For AVGC Sector To Create 5 Lakh Jobs: Govt

Revenues From AVGC Online Gaming Surged 412% At ₹6909 Crore

India has the second-largest anime fan base globally and is projected to contribute 60 per cent to the worldwide growth in anime interest in the coming years. With the new National Centre of Excellence (NCoE) for the AVGC-XR (animation, visual effects, gaming, comics and extended reality) sector, the industry is expected to create 5 lakh jobs, the government said on Sunday.

Boasting a growth rate of 25 per cent and an estimated value of Rs 46 billion by 2023 (as per a FICCI-EY report), the animation industry in India is thriving and offers a promising future for passionate young talent, according to the government. The AVGC-XR sector is set to be the future of the media and entertainment industry. In this regard, the Cabinet has approved the establishment of the NCoE for the AVGC-XR sector in Mumbai, as it aims to advance the creators’ economy to ensure economic growth and employment opportunity.

NCoE will be set up as a Section 8 Company under the Companies Act, 2013 in India with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), representing the industry bodies as partners with the government. The centre aims to revolutionise the AVGC sector and foster innovation in immersive technologies.

It will be modelled after renowned institutions like the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). “India’s animation sector is witnessing remarkable growth, driven by increasing demand for films, visual effects (VFX), gaming animation and engaging mobile content. This surge presents exciting opportunities for skilled and enthusiastic animators,” said the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The NCoE focuses of creating Indian IP, leveraging our cultural heritage in new age and create a multiplier effect in the industry. The centre is modelled after premier institutions like IITs and IIMs. The centre will provide world-class infrastructure, state-of-the-art technology and specialised skills to build a strong talent pool. Students will gain practical experience through industry-driven courses, ensuring they are job-ready upon graduation.

“By fostering partnerships between the central and state governments, academia, and industry, the NCoE will create a dynamic ecosystem for research, development, and innovation in immersive technologies. This is where India’s next-gen creators will thrive,” according to the ministry.

“Won’t Enter Politics”: Old Tweets And Videos Of Udhayanidhi Surface As He Gets Coronated As Deputy Chief Minister

Old Tweets And Videos Of Udhayanidhi Surface

After months of deliberation, Udhayanidhi, the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, has been anointed as the Deputy Chief Minister and will be sworn in on 29 September 2024, an auspicious time as per the Hindu calendar.

In this scenario, old tweets and videos of Udhayanidhi Stalin have surfaced, and he can be seen saying that he will not enter politics.

In an interview with actress Sangeetha for Puthuyugam on March 6, 2014, Udhayanidhi stated that he is not interested in politics and that entering politics is not mandatory if one is born into a political family. He also said, “Many people in the DMK have worked hard for the party, and I believe they should be given prominent positions.”

On August 6, 2017, during the press meet for his mega-flop movie Pothuvaga En Manasu Thangam, Udhayanidhi stated that no one in his family or friends had asked him to enter politics and that he is not interested in doing so.

On May 26, 2011, Udhayanithi stated that he will never enter politics in response to a fan who wished him good luck for his first film Oru Kal Oru Kannadi and asked him to enter politics.

In another such instance on Jul 23, 2011, he replied to a user named @robotag that he will not enter politics.

AIADMK leader Singai Ramachandran shared how the DMK scion has changed his stance over the years on his political elevation.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Udhayanidhi Stalin’s recent appointment as Deputy Chief Minister marks a significant shift in his political journey, contrasting sharply with his old tweets and videos in which he claimed disinterest in politics. The resurfacing of his previous statements raises questions about the authenticity of his commitments and the influence of political legacy.

Why Do We Like Modi? A Case Study With Two Defining Examples

Modi

Srimad Bhagavad Gita says:

यत्र योगेश्वरः कृष्णो यत्र पार्थो धनुर्धरः।
तत्र श्रीर्विजयो भूतिर्ध्रुवा नीतिर्मतिर्मम।।18.78।

Wherever Sri Krishna and Arjuna, armed with his bow, go, victory is a certainty. Similarly, we find that wherever our PM Modi visits, there are not just laurels for himself, but also to our entire nation, Bharat, which was undreamt of earlier in history. Nearly seven long decades, even after independence, we never had had the proud feeling that we were ‘Bharatiya’, second none in the world; instead, we depicted ourselves as mild, milksop, milquetoast minions conforming to the picture of our then passive, phlegmatic Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh. Now, not only do we realise that we are ‘Vishva Guru’, but all other nations also readily acknowledge and treat us with due reverence! Reason: MODI!

Emotional encomiums apart, here are just two specific areas showing his foresighted, astute action for which we should be ever grateful to him.

[For the sake of brevity, we are mentioning only two epochal instances that deserve a permanent place in our nation’s history. The entire list will warrant volumes of literature.]

1. DEMONETISATION

When he took the reins in 2014, the situation was pathetic. Corruption, nepotism, exploitation, economic crimes, frauds were at their peak.

Black money, underground transactions, money laundering – all such anti-national activities were the order of the day, undermining the very financial fabric of the nation. Inflation has alarmingly hovered around 10% since 2009. If such a dangerous trend had continued, we would have been another Yemen, Syria, Sudan, Venezuela, Zimbabwe, etc. For instance, the economies of our neighbours Pakistan, Bangla Desh, Sri Lanka, etc., despite possessing abundant natural wealth, depict pathetic pictures.

So, to curb black money, he brought in Black Money (Undisclosed Foreign Income and Assets) and Imposition of Tax Act, 2015. The act imposes taxes and penalties on undisclosed foreign income and assets. Still, currency in circulation surprisingly remained abnormal. The reason was shocking! Fake currency from Pakistan was freely flowing like an avalanche in lacs of crores of rupees thanks to the diabolical machinations of our former Finance Minister P Chidambaram, who arranged for selling our currency printing machine to our enemy and also continued with the purchase of currency note paper from the same shady British manufacturer De La Rue, who supplied the same paper to Pakistan. The liberal influx of fake currency was not only damaging our economy but also perilously encouraging terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir.

At that moment, a colossal eight lac crores of fake currency was planned to be smuggled into the nation. Something drastic, daring, and dramatic had to be done, and immediately so. The most vital element should be the surprise factor: absolute, leak-proof secrecy. Moreover, if it by chance ends in a fiasco, the consequences would be disastrous. Who will shoulder the blame?

Modi enters the scene. On the night of 8th November 2016, he declared the demonetisation of Rs.500 and Rs.1000 currencies. The big bandicoots with vested interest were taken aback with surprise and shock, whereas the ordinary man welcomed the move and fully cooperated with its successful implementation.

Corrupt politicians, celebrities, and media barons for whom loads of hoarded currency got instantaneously transformed into useless waste paper attempted to thwart the move’s success and indulged in various vicious tricks at their command. Still, everything failed miserably, thanks to the unstinted support and understanding of the common man who had complete faith in our Prime Minister. As a consequence, the inflation rate dramatically dropped to 3.33% in 2017, and it continues to hover around a healthy low level. Now, we are enjoying a robust economy, comfortable living, affordable living, faster business growth, and overall development.

His crucial step of demonetisation, coupled with many other innovative, ingenious, path-breaking reforms, has fructified into spectacular results, with India emerging as the fastest-growing economy among G20 nations. Faster growth fosters more jobs, social security, and wealth creation.

The India Development Update (IDU) observes that India remained the fastest-growing major economy, growing rapidly at 8.2 per cent in FY23/24.

According to the World GDP Ranking 2024 list, India is the fifth largest economy in the world. Other prominent countries, such as the United States of America, China, Japan, Germany, etc., have a significant presence in this GDP Ranking list.

Having overtaken France and the UK with such a rapid pace of growth in an environment of subdued global growth, we will soon be beating Japan and Germany to emerge as the third largest economy in the world.

2. COVID VACCINE STRATEGY:

In December 2019, China, with cruel, crooked, criminal intentions, spread the deadly coronavirus. Their nefarious plan was to execute worldwide genocide and destroy all nations physically and financially so that they would become the undisputed dictator for the entire human race.

The world was taken by surprise and shock. The potential hazards of the virus were unbelievably immense and the consequences were fatal. Western countries, although supposed to have advanced in medical science, were groping in darkness for solutions. Our Modi did a strange act. He visited two units, Bharat Biotech in Hyderabad and Serum Institute of India in Pune. He discussed with the scientists how fast they can indigenously develop vaccines to combat the virus. He ensured that all the procedural hitches were eliminated, all the facilities were afforded to all those personnel, and all were motivated to act with war-like dedication and speed. He monitored each step in their progress, and they responded with exemplary dedication.

But, the path was not smooth. Pharma giants like Pfizer and Moderna were greedily waiting like hungry vultures and rapacious wolves to prey upon our critical situation and plunder our entire fortune with savage force. Their pricing was astronomically high. Since our population is quite huge, they wanted to make the maximum profit from us. The conditions imposed by Pfizer were so unbelievably unfair and unjust that no sane individual would accede to them. Pfizer engaged a local anti-national toolkit that started barking in the highest decibels, and we should immediately purchase Pfizer vaccines. A lot of impediments were created. Negative propaganda was unleashed. There was a threat to the life of the personnel involved in producing the local vaccine. The rapscallions resorted to all sorts of treachery and tricks, stooped to abysmal levels to thwart the attempt. The film, ‘Vaccine War’, presents a vivid picture of all the events in an absorbing manner.

But our Modi proved, ‘Where there is a will, there is a way’. Against all odds and to the surprise of the entire world, our Bharat was able to successfully manufacture vaccines—that too, in record time. The more admirable part was that he saw to it that they were distributed freely to the entire population—not once but twice. As a dutiful father, he meticulously monitored and ensured all his people were covered. Kalidasa describes King Dileepa as under:

प्रजानां विनयाधानाद्रक्षणाद्भरणादपि।
स पिता पितरस्तासां केवलं जन्महेतवः।।

[Orienting his subjects in good conduct, protecting them from fears or dangers, according to succour with welfare facilities, King Dileepa became their ‘de facto’ father while their actual parents remained just parents ‘de jure’.]

With his untiring effort, our Bharatvarsh has become regarded as the world’s vaccine manufacturing hub, contributing 60% to the global vaccine supply.

Every individual, every pharma corporation, and every nation was looking at opportunities to make hay. At the same time, the sun shines, in tune with our motto of Sanatana Dharma, वसुधैव कुटुंबकम्’, he distributed freely, YES, FREELY vaccines to as many as more than hundred nations, demonstrating our commitment to global solidarity. He has offered medical supplies, equipment, and expertise to many countries. It is significant to note that the list includes even nations that are habitually inimical to us! The laudable logic is that mankind in those countries should not suffer due to faulty leadership.

The above are just two instances. He exhibited one essential quality of political strategy in both foresight and secrecy. We start wondering why he is embarking on an exercise, and we can infer the reason only after seeing the final result.

Here is a stanza, again from Raghuvamsam:

तस्य संवृतमन्त्रस्य गूढाकारेङ्गितस्य च।
फलानुमेयाः प्रारम्भाः संस्काराः प्राक्तना इव॥

[His tactical manoeuvres in kingcraft are inferable only by their fruition, just like the repercussions in this life are implied from a past life since his concepts, body language, or orientation are abstruse.]

Sri Rama advises Bharata the same statecraft:

कच्चिन् मन्त्रयसे न एकः कच्चिन् न बहुभिः सह |
कच्चित् ते मन्त्रितो मन्त्रो राष्ट्रम् न परिधावति || २-१००-१८||

[“I hope that you do not deliberate alone nor indeed with numerous men. I hope your decision arrived at by you through such deliberation does not flow to the public (even before it is carried out”.]

We can endlessly elaborate on his exemplary prudence and insight. We have not dealt with his many other contributions, such as the Digital India Scheme, Make in India initiative, Swatch Bharat Movement, Focus on Modernising Railways, Indigenous Defence production, Renewable Energy, Agriculture reforms, etc., to mention a few. Thanks to his untiring efforts, we perceive a complete metamorphosis in the nation.

While the first one, the Demonetisation step, guarantees us a comfortable, happy life in a progressive society, the second one, vaccine production on a war footing, is still more vital. It has gifted to all of us a rebirth. Now, thanks to Modi, we are enjoying both. We live in a healthy atmosphere when juxtaposed with many other nations. Still, despite all these, a few among us dare to mercilessly, mindlessly, maliciously pass on scathing comments about him! We shudder to imagine what would have been our plight if only he had not been there.

Forget for a moment your political leanings, prejudices and preferences based on caste and creed, religion and region, language and leanings. We may have our own priorities, which we expect to be attended to faster. But let us keep them all aside. Be honest, touch your heart, and think over it. Here is an extraordinary man who is working tirelessly for the welfare of the entire humanity. He is as pure, selfless, and transparent as alabaster. Never allows any of his kith and kin to seek or secure any benefit from him. He perfectly fits into the definition and description of Sri Rama in the first chapter of Valmiki Ramayana. And one need not be a blind Modi-bhakt to say that.

So, let us all cast aside all other considerations and participate wholeheartedly in his endeavour to achieve progress and prosperity. Let us put our shoulders to the wheel with him and contribute our mite for a new Bharatvarsh to blossom.

DMK Scion Udhayanidhi Stalin Who Wants To Eradicate Sanatana Dharma To Be Coronated As TN Deputy CM At Auspicious Hour As Per Hindu Calendar

Udhayanidhi Stalin and MK Stalin

In a significant cabinet reshuffle, Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin promoted his son, Udhayanidhi Stalin, to Deputy Chief Minister, continuing the DMK’s dynastic politics. Ironically, Udhayanidhi, who once called for the eradication of Sanatana Dharma, will be sworn in at 3:15 PM on 29 September 2024—an auspicious hour in the Hindu calendar. Despite the DMK’s rationalist stance, this timing reflects a contradiction in their public rejection of “Sanatana Dharma superstition,” exposing the party’s repeated hypocrisy in engaging with Hindu beliefs for political milestones.

Udhayanidhi, who currently serves as the sports minister in his father’s administration, was promoted just days after MK Stalin made a cryptic remark regarding his son’s potential rise when he said, “There will be no disappointment, there will be change”.

However, what is interesting to note is that the DMK scion who had given a clarion call to eradicate Sanatana Dharma (aka Hinduism) will swear in as Deputy Chief Minister at 3:15 PM on 29 September 2024, which is an auspicious hour according to the Hindu calendar.

On 29 September 2024, the inauspicious times are between 04:30 PM and 06:00 PM (Ragukaalam) and 12:00 Noon and 01:30 PM (Yamagandam).

Rahukalam and Yamagandam are specific Vedic astrology periods considered inauspicious for starting new ventures or essential activities. Based on planetary positions, they are observed primarily in South India, especially among Tamil Hindus.

Rahukalam refers to the period of the day ruled by the shadow planet Rahu. In astrology, Rahu is considered a malefic planet, symbolizing obstacles, confusion, and unexpected challenges.

Hindus believe any new or essential activity started during Rahukalam will not yield positive results.

Yamagandam is another period ruled by Yama, the god of death. Like Rahukalam, it is considered inauspicious to begin new endeavours.

Udhayanidhi’s swearing-in is 3:15 PM, which falls under the Kuligai period. During this period, tasks that will yield positive results and have the potential to repeat are performed. In Udhayanidhi Stalin’s case, he could potentially become Deputy CM or Chief Minister again.

This is in complete contrast to how the DMK fashions itself to be a ‘rationalistic’ party that does not believe in ‘superstition’ thus exposing the hypocrisy of Dravidianists.

This is not the first time the DMK has chosen an auspicious time according to the Hindu calendar to elevate the scion.

In December 2022, the crown prince Udhayanidhi Stalin was sworn in as a Minister in his father’s government on on 14 December 2022 at 09:30 AM, a ‘Subha Muhurtham’ day with the auspicious time falling between 09:15 AM and 10:15 AM. It was also the day of Thirumanjana Sevai (sacred bath ceremony) for the Parthasarathy Perumal Temple at Tiruvallikeni. It is noteworthy to mention that Udhyanidhi is the MLA of Chepauk-Tiruvallikeni.

Children With Disabilities Face Unique Challenges, Deserve Special Attention: Centre

Children with disabilities face unique challenges and deserve special attention, Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annapurna Devi said on Saturday. She called for a collective and comprehensive approach to address the multifaceted challenges faced by children with disabilities.

Annapurna Devi said this while delivering the keynote address at the ninth round of consultation held under the aegis of the Juvenile Justice Committee, Supreme Court of India, in association with Unicef. “Child protection is not merely a concept; it is our shared duty, especially when it comes to children with disabilities. With nearly one-third of our population comprising children, today’s gathering reaffirms India’s steadfast commitment to their welfare and safety,” Annapurna Devi said.

Devi reaffirmed that the government is dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing environment for every child. “Children with disabilities, who face unique challenges, deserve special attention. By working together, we can ensure that every child, regardless of their circumstances, can thrive and realise their full potential,” the Union Minister said. This round of consultations focused on addressing the intersectionality of disabilities, with a special emphasis on Children in Conflict with the Law (CiCL) and Children in Need of Care and Protection (CNCP).

Further, at the event, Justice B.V. Nagarathna, Chairperson of the Juvenile Justice Committee, Supreme Court of India, highlighted the importance of safeguarding the rights of children with disabilities. Nagarathna emphasised “the collective responsibility of all stakeholders in this crucial task”. Chief Justice of India, D.Y. Chandrachud, speaking at the event, stressed the importance of building an inclusive society. He said that “every child, irrespective of their abilities, must be empowered to reach their full potential”.

MP CM Mohan Yadav Slams Rahul Over ‘Celebrity Event’ Remarks About Ram Mandir Inauguration Ceremony

MP CM Mohan Yadav Slams Rahul Over 'Celebrity Event' Remarks About Ram Mandir Inauguration Ceremony

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Saturday criticised Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi for his remarks about the January 22 Ram Mandir inauguration ceremony in Ayodhya, which the Congress leader apparently compared to a “celebrity event” as common persons were not present during the programme.

The CM’s reaction came after Rahul Gandhi, while addressing an election rally in Haryana, hit out at the BJP, seeking an explanation on why common people were not invited in the occasion of the Ram Mandir inauguration. Hitting back at the Congress MP, the Madhya Pradesh CM questioned “did Rahul Gandhi ever visit Ram Mandir?” During his speech, Rahul Gandhi criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government for “turning Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony into a celebrity event”. “You know why they (BJP) lost in Ayodhya? They opened a mandir in Ayodhya. You saw many well-known personalities but not a single poor farmer was there. This is the reason why they lost,” Rahul Gandhi said. The Congress leader further remarked: “Did you see any labourers or farmers? No. It was all dance and song, with the media cheering. This is the reality.” Responding to Rahul Gandhi’s remarks, Mohan Yadav said the Congress always stood with those who opened fire at ‘karsevaks’.

“The Congress never cherished the Pran Pratishtha ceremony… the party has been hurting the sentiments of Hindus time and again. Did Rahul Gandhi ever visit Ram Mandir ever in his life? No, but he would hurt the sentiments of crore of Hindus through his comments,” Mohan Yadav said. In January this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated Ram Mandir in the temple city of Ayodhya, which is part of the Faizabad Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh.

However, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) faced a major setback when Samajwadi Party’s Awadhesh Prasad, a nine-time MLA and former minister from the Pasi (Scheduled Caste) community, defeated two-time BJP MP Lallu Singh by over 55,000 votes in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
