From Tenkasi To The Skies, A Veerasigamani From Veerasigamani: Abikaran Speaks To The Commune About His Inspiring Journey To The Indian Air Force

abikaran tenkasi indian air force tamil nadu

The state of Tamil Nadu has a fairly lower level of armed forces related interactions compared to other border states up north. And yet, the number of defence aspirants is rising here. In the series of inspiring youth we have interviewed, we spoke to a young lad Abikaran from Veerasigamani village in south Tamil Nadu.

Interestingly, the name Veerasigamani translates to “a brave and distinguished gem” — a name that perfectly reflects Abikaran’s spirit and ambition

Read how with dogged determination, he is on his way to become the first Indian Air Force officer from his village.

The Commune: Congratulations, Abikaran. Tell us a bit about yourself.

Abikaran: Thank you, I am Abikaran, a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Veerasigamani village in Tenkasi district. I completed my schooling in the same village and pursued my engineering degree at Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai. After college, I worked as a design engineer in a private firm. My father runs a car service workshop, my mother is a homemaker, and my elder brother is an engineer preparing for the UPSC.

The Commune: What inspired you to join the armed forces?

Abikaran: As a child, I was a big fan of movies, but everything changed when a close friend transferred to a Sainik School. Around that time, I also saw a documentary on the NDA in Class 9, and that really caught my interest. I learned that one could join the armed forces right after Class 12, and this friend explained the entire process to me. That sowed the seed, and I’ve been pursuing it since then.

The Commune: How did your family react when you told them about your decision to pursue a military career?

Abikaran: I first told them in Class 12, but back then I didn’t have full clarity myself. I even attended an interview then but didn’t clear it. Later, I told them I would continue trying after completing engineering. Since they had already seen my interest and seriousness, they supported me again. My parents viewed it like any other profession, though they hoped I would go for a safer stream like the Air Force instead of the Army. My brother has always been supportive – he’s passionate about uniformed services and is trying for the police force.

The Commune: You attempted the SSB 14 times. That’s extraordinary. Can you tell us about that journey?

Abikaran: I gave 11 SSB attempts; 8 times I was screened out, 3 times I reached the conference and was rejected. In my 12th attempt, I was finally recommended for the Air Force, and again recently, in my 14th attempt, I was selected. So I’ve been recommended twice. The journey began in 2023 and went on till December 2024. I went through screen outs in Bengaluru, Allahabad, and travelled long distances only to return without success. It was frustrating.

During one phase, I even doubted myself. At SSBs, officers advise candidates not to put all their eggs in one basket. That made me wonder whether I was truly cut out for this. But I told myself: this one will be my last attempt, and that’s the one I cleared.

The Commune: Tell us about your preparation strategy. How did it evolve?

Abikaran: I started preparing in Class 12 itself. I applied for NDA and technical entry. Though I wasn’t successful then, I did receive call letters for technical entry twice, for Bengaluru and Allahabad, but couldn’t attend the latter due to my father’s health at that time.

After college, I attempted the CDS and AFCAT exams multiple times. I cleared AFCAT thrice and got SSB recommendations twice. After engineering, I also applied through the Technical Entry Scheme and through the NCC Special Entry (I have a C-certificate and was in the Army wing).

The Commune: Did you prepare with friends or alone? And how did you discover Vizhi Awakening Trust?

Abikaran: I began studying on my own, with help from friends and YouTube. Coaching didn’t suit my work schedule. Around that time, a serving officer shared a flyer from Vizhi Awakening Trust. They run the “Naan Thalaivan Thittam” – a leadership development and defence prep programme for rural youth.

They selected me for the pilot batch, and it transformed my approach. Sessions were scheduled early morning and late night to accommodate working aspirants. The Trust brought in veterans who trained us in psychology, group discussion, general knowledge, and personality development. Commander Aravindan, in particular, mentored me deeply. The training sessions are predominatly online to cater to the students who are from all over the state, plus they may be working as well.

The Commune: Can you tell us more about Vizhi Awakening Trust and its work?

Abikaran: Vizhi Awakening Trust, founded in 2014, focuses on eliminating inequity in opportunity and mentorship between urban and rural youth. Their flagship initiative, Defence & Leadership Awakening Movement (DLAM), introduces students to defence careers, not just soldier entries but officer roles too.

They follow a 3-phase model: Awaken – Educate – Empower. Through workshops and direct mentoring, they’ve impacted over 15,300 students across Tamil Nadu. Their model addresses gaps in awareness, access, and mentorship. I was in their first batch with respect to Defence and Leadership, and now they have over 80–100 active aspirants under this, many of whom have been selected.

The Commune: How did you manage work and preparation together?

Abikaran: After college, I took up a full-time job, but defence was still my dream. My routine: I’d wake up by 4:30 or 5 AM, solve a mock test, analyze it, and head to work. During commutes and breaks, I watched news or educational videos. In the evening, I’d take another test. The Trust gave me a structured timetable, which was a game-changer. My day ended at around 11:30 PM to midnight.

For physical fitness, I did basic running on a local ground, as I didn’t have access to sports facilities. I didn’t play any sports during this phase, but I consistently practiced.

The Commune: What was your first choice among the three forces?

Abikaran: My first dream was to join the Indian Army, especially the Para SF. But over time, I became open to all three services. The mentors at the Trust also advised us not to limit ourselves to one force. When I got selected for the Air Force twice, I accepted it. My background in mechanical engineering helped me get selected in the technical stream.

The Commune: What role will you be performing in the Indian Air Force?

Abikaran: I’ve been selected for the Ground Duty (Technical Branch), specifically in Mechanical Engineering. I’ll be a Performance and Technical Officer. The training is 72 weeks – 6 months of basic military training in Hyderabad, followed by a year of technical training, which could be in either Chennai or Bengaluru.

The Commune: What advice would you give to defence aspirants, especially repeaters?

Abikaran:

  • Consistency is key. Keep learning and improving.
  • Understand the selection process thoroughly.
  • If you’re a repeater, don’t get demotivated. Many of us succeed only after several attempts.
  • Focus on correcting mistakes – often it’s small, silly errors that cost us.
  • Be yourself in the interviews. Don’t try to imitate others. They select you for who you are.

The Commune: Was English ever a barrier for you?

Abikaran: Yes, I studied in a village school, so I wasn’t confident in speaking English. That cost me during the initial SSBs. I worked on it by practicing in front of a mirror, recording myself, and speaking regularly to improve fluency.

The Commune: How is your family feeling now after your success?

Abikaran: They’ve been my biggest support from Class 12 till now, that is over 6 years. My father always said he wanted one of us, either me or my brother, to become an officer. Now he’s proud and relieved that my hard work paid off.

The Commune: Are you the first Air Force officer from your village?

Abikaran: Yes, I’ll be the first Air Force officer from Veerasigamani. One person from here is in the Coast Guard, and a few seniors from college are officers in the Army and Air Force. But many people here don’t know about officer entries – most join as soldiers, even those with degrees. I hope more will learn about these opportunities.

Abikaran’s journey is not just about achieving a dream; it’s about owning your journey and showing up for yourself every single day. As the first Air Force officer from his village, he now stands as a role model for many others across Tamil Nadu’s hinterlands.

Malaysia Busts Militant Network, Arrests 36 Bangladeshi Nationals Linked To IS

Malaysian authorities have dismantled an international militant network following the arrest of 36 Bangladeshi nationals suspected of involvement in a radical movement rooted in extremist ideology and violent beliefs.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail announced that the arrests were made as part of a three-phase security operation in Selangor and Johor, which began on 24 April.

In a statement issued on Friday, he revealed that five of the suspects have been charged under Chapter VIA of the Penal Code and appeared in court sessions in Shah Alam and Johor Bahru. Additionally, 15 individuals have been issued deportation orders, while 16 others remain under investigation for their suspected connections to the militant group.

“Intelligence gathered and coordinated efforts by the Special Branch showed that this group imported extremist ideologies based on Islamic State (IS) teachings into Malaysia,” Saifuddin Nasution said.

He further explained that the group had set up recruitment cells within their own community to spread radical beliefs, raise funds for terrorist activities, and plot to destabilize their home country’s legitimate government.

“I want to make it clear that Malaysia will never be a haven, let alone a base of operations, for any foreign extremist elements,” he emphasized. “This operation underscores the seriousness of the Madani government in taking a firm stance against any threat to national security.”

Saifuddin Nasution also praised the country’s security forces, particularly the police, for their professionalism and effectiveness in safeguarding Malaysia’s sovereignty, public order, and social harmony.

The minister reiterated the government’s commitment to enhancing intelligence operations, strengthening law enforcement, and collaborating with both domestic and international security agencies to keep Malaysia secure and free from terrorist threats.

“Any attempt to use Malaysia as a base for militant operations or as a transit point for extremist movements will face decisive and swift countermeasures,” he concluded.

Congress Releases Book With Distorted India Map, Shows PoK As Part Of Pakistan And Aksai Chin As China In Its Official Book Against Modi Govt

congress distorted india map tamil nadu

The Congress party appears to have no shame, repeatedly and deliberately using a distorted India map in its brochures and pamphlets—maps that cede parts of Jammu and Kashmir to China and Pakistan.

Now, the Tamil Nadu Congress has followed the same pattern. On one of its official X pages—specifically that of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee Research Department—it shared a misleading map of India while promoting a party campaign.

The cover of the book titled “Jumla Government’s false facts and realities” prepared by Research Department of Tamil Nadu Congress shows Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir as part of Pakistan and Aksai Chin as part of China.

The post read, “Tomorrow, the Tamil Nadu Congress Research Department will launch the #HundredDaysHundredPlaces campaign to expose the lies of the Jumla government. The campaign will be inaugurated by Dr. A. Sellakumar M.B.B.S., Ex-M.P., Permanent Invitee of the All India Congress Working Committee.”

The attached pamphlet included a distorted representation of India’s map, which drew sharp criticism and widespread backlash.

Only recently the Congress party found itself at the center of controversy after sharing a post on its official X account on 18 June 2025, that featured a map of Pakistan including Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) — a territory legally claimed by India. The post, intended to criticize Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign policy, included the caption, “Narendra Modi has ruined the foreign policy”, alongside a video depicting the disputed map.

The use of the map sparked widespread outrage, with critics accusing Congress of promoting anti-national sentiments and aligning with Pakistani narratives. Many called it a serious lapse in judgment, alleging the party was indirectly endorsing Pakistan’s territorial claims. Following intense backlash from political opponents and the public alike, the Congress deleted the post without offering an immediate explanation.

Loyola–Don Bosco Filmmaking Diploma a Fraud, Says Alumnus; Slams Promotion of #MeToo Accused Actor John Vijay

In an explosive email to the CEO of Don Bosco International Media Academy (DBIMA), a prominent alumnus of both Loyola College and Don Bosco institutions has accused the two Catholic-run organizations of academic fraud, ethical complicity, and a cover-up of sexual misconduct allegations tied to a so-called “Diploma in Filmmaking (AI), France.”

Joseph Kennedy, an alumnus of both Don Bosco and Loyola College, Chennai known for his 2022 exposé that led the University Grants Commission (UGC) to reject Loyola College’s application for university status, has once again taken aim at his alma mater — this time, over an unauthorized foreign diploma program being jointly promoted by Loyola College, Chennai and DBIMA Paris.

The filmmaking diploma is marketed as a “dual certification” course, allowing students to complete their final projects in France, with heavy promotion involving DBIMA’s own CEO, Fr. John Paul Swaminathan. However, according to an RTI response from the University of Madras, no such diploma program has ever been approved, rendering it illegal under Indian academic regulations.

“Loyola College, Chennai has a known and documented pattern of entering into foreign collaborations without regulatory approvals.” Kennedy stated, citing RTI documents and his own 41-page report submitted to the UGC titled, ‘Loyola College, Chennai is at a Dangerous Inflection Point and Granting University Status Will Be Extremely Suicidal for India as a Nation and the Christian Faithful’.

Jesuit-Salesian Partnership Under Fire

The controversy deepens with the involvement of actor John Vijay, who appears alongside Fr. John Paul, CEO – DBIMA in promotional videos for the program. John Vijay was publicly accused of multiple instances of sexual harassment during India’s #MeToo movement in 2018 and again in 2024. These allegations have been reported by mainstream platforms like Hindustan Times and India Today, are not unknown.

“For a faith-based institution to promote a man publicly accused of sexual harassment not only defies basic ethics — it dangerously signals tacit approval.” Kennedy wrote in his email.

This Isn’t a Protest — It’s a Rejection.

In the email, Kennedy makes it clear that he is not seeking a response, but instead issuing a formal dissociation from what he calls a morally bankrupt operation.

“If DBIMA chooses to persist in this alliance, it does so knowing it is legitimizing a program marred by regulatory violation and ethical rot,” he declared.

The letter comes at a time when Catholic institutions in India — particularly Jesuit-run ones — are facing increased scrutiny for alleged governance failures, clergy abuse cover-ups, and the exploitation of educational prestige for commercial gain.

Kennedy, whose recent refusal to judge LIBA’s flagship event Chrysalis 2025 in solidarity with abuse survivors made headlines, has once again positioned himself as a whistleblower from within the very institutions he once proudly represented.

Silence from DBIMA, Paris and Loyola

At the time of publication, neither DBIMA nor Loyola College has issued a response or clarification. However, sources within the University of Madras confirm that further regulatory action may follow if the program continues to operate in defiance of academic norms.

As the storm intensifies, one thing is clear: the battle for accountability in India’s elite Christian colleges is far from over — and insiders like Joseph Kennedy are no longer staying silent.

“DMK Mismanages Central Schemes, Blocks Progress, NDA Will Form Govt In 2026”: Says Amit Shah

Amid constant attempts by Dravidianist media to stir doubts about the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Tamil Nadu, BJP state president Nainar Nagendran and AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami have firmly asserted that the alliance remains united. Both leaders brushed aside insinuations about a possible rift, maintaining that the NDA is well-positioned to win the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections and form the government.

Echoing their sentiments, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, in a recent interview with Dinamalar, delivered a pointed rebuttal to the Dravidian ecosystem’s aspiration. He asserted that the NDA will come to power in Tamil Nadu and that the BJP will play a key role in the formation of the next state government.

Amit Shah on 2026 Assembly Elections and DMK’s Deflections

Addressing the political climate in Tamil Nadu, Amit Shah touched on various topics like how the DMK uses diversionary tactics, how the party often blames the central government to mask its administrative failures — from law and order deterioration to widespread corruption and an anti-Hindu narrative.

He emphasized that the recent Lok Sabha election results, where BJP showed significant progress, will serve as a precursor to the Assembly elections, reflecting increasing public trust in the BJP and growing support for the AIADMK-led alliance.

On Delimitation: “No Decision Made, DMK Creating Panic”

Responding to the DMK’s opposition to the possible redrawing of Lok Sabha constituencies, Shah clarified that no legislation or official decision has been taken on delimitation. He accused the DMK of fabricating issues to divert attention from internal rifts, corruption allegations, and dynastic politics—particularly the rise of Udhayanidhi Stalin.

He reiterated that when delimitation does occur, Tamil Nadu will not be treated unfairly and that a consultative process involving all stakeholders will be followed. Shah reminded that he had made this assurance publicly during an earlier visit to the state.

“More Funds, More Development — DMK’s Claims Are Baseless”

Countering claims that the BJP-led Centre has neglected Tamil Nadu, Shah laid out detailed figures:

  • The UPA government (with DMK as part of it) allocated ₹1.53 lakh crore to Tamil Nadu in a decade before 2014.
  • In contrast, the BJP government has allocated ₹5.48 lakh crore in the past 10 years — a 3.5x increase.
  • Major investments include ₹1.43 lakh crore in infrastructure, ₹63,000 crore for roads, ₹77,000 crore in railway projects, ₹2,000 crore for 11 medical colleges, and ₹1.11 lakh crore for the Jal Jeevan Mission.

Prime Minister Modi’s recent announcement of ₹20,000 crore in new development projects in Trichy, he added, shows the Centre’s commitment to Tamil Nadu’s growth.

“DMK Mismanages Central Schemes, Blocks Progress”

Shah accused the DMK government of either rejecting or misusing central welfare schemes. Not only has Tamil Nadu delayed or misappropriated funds from schemes like the PM Matru Vandana Yojana and MGNREGA, but corruption is also rampant in implementation. He pointed to fake connections in the Jal Jeevan Mission and the distribution of housing benefits to ineligible individuals as examples.

The recent Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report, Shah noted, exposed misuse of ICTS funds and ongoing irregularities in rural job programs.

Law and Order Breakdown Hindering Growth

Shah raised serious concerns about the law and order situation in Tamil Nadu, citing its negative impact on investment and public safety.

  • Crimes against Scheduled Castes have risen by 40% in the state.
  • Only 21% of sexual assault cases against Dalit women have resulted in convictions, compared to the national average of 39.1%.
  • He also pointed out caste-based discrimination, where Dalit panchayat presidents are being denied basic dignity, with some being forced to sit on the floor.

Shah emphasized that such an environment undermines democracy and deters businesses from investing.

“Corruption Has Crossed All Limits”

Listing out corruption scandals under the DMK regime, Shah alleged massive scams in various sectors:

  • ₹39,775 crore liquor scam
  • ₹5,800 crore sand mining scam
  • ₹3,000 crore ELCOT scam
  • ₹4,400 crore energy scam
  • ₹3,000 crore transport scam

He added that lakhs of rupees are being extorted from job aspirants, citing a case where a single person was defrauded of ₹41,503 under the NREGA scheme.

On Crime, Illegal Immigration, and Drugs

When asked whether the Centre could intervene to control the situation in Tamil Nadu, Shah emphasized the constitutional boundaries. “Law and order is primarily a state subject,” he clarified, “but wherever possible, national agencies are stepping in.” He acknowledged the rise in drug abuse, and the unchecked operations of liquor and sand mafias under the current DMK regime.

He also raised concerns about the illegal presence of Bangladeshi and Rohingya migrants in Tamil Nadu. He promised that, “once the NDA assumes power in the state, action will be taken to eliminate such unlawful settlements and restore order”.

NDA Will Form Government in Tamil Nadu, Says Amit Shah

When asked if the BJP was anticipating a coalition government in Tamil Nadu, Union Home Minister Amit Shah responded with confidence, “After the assembly elections, there is no doubt—the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will form the government in Tamil Nadu, and the BJP will be an integral part of that administration.”

Pressed on what fuels such certainty, Shah pointed to recent electoral trends, “If you carefully analyze the Lok Sabha election results, it’s clear that the NDA has the momentum. With intensified efforts and additional campaigning during the assembly elections, we are confident of securing a majority and forming the government.”

DMK’s Religious Polarization Will Backfire, Says Shah

On the DMK’s alleged anti-Hindu stance and the question of whether the BJP would turn it into a political weapon, Shah was measured in his response, “We don’t need to make an issue out of it. Whenever they make derogatory remarks against any religion, it’s not us but the people who take note. The public will hold them accountable at the ballot box.”

On the Uniform Civil Code

Asked about the delay in implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) nationally, Shah reiterated the BJP’s phased approach. “Wherever the BJP is in power, we are taking steps toward implementing the Uniform Civil Code. States like Uttarakhand have already enacted it. In several other states, committees have been established, and the process is underway.”

Union Minister Amit Shah’s statements mark a strong political counter to the Dravidian narrative. From debunking misinformation on delimitation to exposing alleged corruption and defending the Centre’s development record, Shah presented a confident blueprint for the NDA’s future in Tamil Nadu — signaling that BJP’s role in the state’s political landscape is far from peripheral.

“Does Thirumavalavan Have The Guts To Speak About Arabic And Jerusalem Gods?” BJP Leader H Raja Thunders

Senior BJP leader and National Executive Committee Member H Raja launched a fierce attack on the Dravidian ecosystem especially its ally Thirumavalavan mocking their criticism following the successful completion of the Hindu Munnani-organized Murugan Devotees Conference in Madurai.

While speaking to reporters in Kancheepuram, Raja described the event as a “joyous occasion,” especially observing anguished reactions from Dravidian sympathizers. He remarked, “The success of the Murugan Devotees’ Conference held by the Hindu Munnani in Madurai was tremendous, it has also been a joyous sight to especially witnessi the wails of these “Dravidian stocks.” But I wonder, will all these “Dravidian stocks” truly be fools? Because these evil forces have now stooped to asking for domicile certificates for Parameswaran and Parvati.”

Directing a scathing critique at VCK leader and MP Thol. Thirumavalavan, Raja accused him of routinely making provocative and divisive statements. “Thirumavalavan, known for his erratic and provocative speeches is crossing all limits with his words. We/Hindus will be compelled to go door-to-door and ask not to vote for this evil force Thirumavalavan, his party, or his alliance. This is because, is Paramasivan a Tamilian? Is Parvati a Tamilian?” he said.

Raja further challenged Thirumavalavan’s selective targeting of Hindu beliefs, asking, “I ask, does this evil force Thirumavalavan have the courage to speak about the Arabian gods or the Jerusalem gods? How dare you speak this way? Has Hinduism become so easy (thokka)? Khabardar! Shut your mouth, I say!”

He also didn’t hold back criticism against DMK Ministers Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi and P.K. Sekar Babu, sarcastically referring to the latter as “Hallelujah Babu” for allegedly favouring Christian sentiments. Responding to Sekar Babu questioning actor-politician Pawan Kalyan’s presence at the event, Raja retorted in Telugu, “Meeru evarandi? Cheppandi!” (Who are you? Tell me!)

Addressing the controversy surrounding a video reportedly denigrating Dravidian leaders like EV Ramasamy Naicker (also known as Periyar) and Annadurai, Raja denied any intent to offend. He clarified that the video merely showcased Hindu Munnani’s 42-year journey and lauded its founder Rama Gopalan as a tireless advocate for Hindu causes.

Turning to political alliances, Raja recounted how partnerships with the BJP had benefitted regional parties in the past. “In 1998, when PMK allied with the BJP, they won five MP seats. That same year, AIADMK and BJP together won 30 out of 39 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu,” he recalled.

He stressed that facts should not be twisted, pointing out that after AIADMK withdrew support from the BJP, the DMK formed an alliance with them, and the new coalition still secured a significant (2/3rd) number of seats nationally. “People claim BJP alliances won’t work, but history proves otherwise,” he said.

Raja also launched a no-holds-barred attack on the current DMK-led Tamil Nadu government, calling it “corrupt, liquor, and drug menace government will be dethroned.” He accused several actors of being caught in drug-related scandals and held Health Minister Ma. Subramanian accountable for failing to tackle the crisis. He also alleged that Tamil Nadu now ranks first followed by Punjab in drug-related issues.

Raja concluded by calling Thirumavalavan a divisive force who, in his words, “insults the Hindu community as a whole.” He warned of consequences if the VCK leader continued with hate-filled and slanderous remarks.

Actor Vijayakumar Becomes The Latest To Join DMK Stooge Gang, Says He Couldn’t Study Because Of Rajaji’s Kulakalvi Scheme Which Was In Implementation For Only 40 Days

rajaji's kulakalvi scheme actor vijayakumar dmk stooge

Kollywood actors have been falling in line with the ruling DMK’s narrative and propaganda for quite some time. Now, the latest to join the DMK stooge bandwagon is senior actor Vijayakumar.

Speaking at an event in Purasaiwakkam on the birth anniversary of DMK patriarch Karunanidhi which is celebrated as “Classical Language Day”, Vijayakumar peddled lies that fell flat, thanks to the baselessness of it.

The event saw the attendance of HR&CE minister Sekar Babu as well.

He said, “Speaking about students, I want to say something in this regard. My hometown is in Pattukottai, and when I was in school, Rajaji introduced a scheme called Kulakalvi – we have to study half the time and work half the time. I was greatly affected by that. I come from a farming family. What was I supposed to do in farming? Irrigate, plant or what? It’s not a big thing. Anyone can do that. But because he introduced that Kulakalvi scheme (traditional occupation scheme), I had to discontinue my studies by 8th standard. It was called ESLC then. 11th grade was called SSLC, then you had PUC. Now everything has changed. Even if I couldn’t study, there were many reasons for it. But you must study well and bring pride to this country and its people and to your hometown and parents. You all have a great opportunity. Today, Chief Minister has introduced breakfast scheme along with the midday meals scheme. He helps everyone. Just so everyone is well, he is the chief minister who works day and night for the people, he is none other than our TN chief minister, our Thalapathy. Muthuval Karunanidhi Stalin is the chief minister who is protecting the people especially the students of this state. And the one who is ably supporting him is our dear minister, Sekar Babu. We don’t know when he works, eats, sleeps, it is always work for the people – all the time. He is always on his feet when it comes to work – he does whatever chief minister tells him to. “Working like a top”, such a top is our minister.”

Truth About Rajaji’s Kulakalvi Scheme

The Modified Scheme of Elementary Education, introduced by then Madras Chief Minister C. Rajagopalachari, also known as Rajaji, in June 1953, aimed to reform rural education by combining classroom learning with vocational training. Students would attend school for three hours and spend the rest of the day learning their family’s traditional occupation. Critics condemned it as a ‘casteist’ policy meant to reinforce hereditary labor, particularly among non-Brahmin and Dalit communities. The scheme sparked widespread protests, especially from the Dravidian movement, who saw it as a threat to educational access and social mobility. Though Rajaji defended it as a cost-effective, Gandhian model of education, intense public backlash and internal dissent within the Congress Party forced him to suspend the scheme just over a month later, on 29 July 1953. It was formally scrapped in May 1954 by his successor, K. Kamaraj, marking its existence as a controversial and short-lived episode in Tamil Nadu’s education history.

Thus, Vijayakumar’s claim that he had to discontinue education because of Rajaji’s kulakalvi scheme is a lie and nothing but propaganda.

Pilavakkal Dam In Disrepair Despite ₹10 Crore Fund Allocation By Govt, Says Youth Who Has Made Koomapatti Famous Through His Viral Insta Reels

A passionate video plea by a youth from the quiet village of Koomapatti has reignited public attention on the long-neglected Pilavakkal Dam, drawing both sympathy and criticism as the Koomapatti sensation unfolds on social media.

The village of Koomapatti, located near the foothills of the Western Ghats in Tamil Nadu’s Virudhunagar district, boasts natural beauty and agricultural richness. Yet, its most significant tourist asset, the Pilavakkal Dam, has been lying in disrepair for over five years, leaving locals disheartened and hopeful visitors disappointed.

In a now-viral video, Thangapandi, a local youth and Instagram celebrity, laments the stagnant state of the dam and surrounding infrastructure. He highlights how the Tamil Nadu government sanctioned ₹10 crore six months ago for the dam’s renovation, yet no visible action has been taken.

“We’ve waited for five years. Even after ₹10 crore was sanctioned, not a single step has been taken. Why is there no human movement to restore this dam?” he questions emotionally in the video, calling Koomapatti “an island” forgotten by the state.

The dam, once a popular local destination for swimming and recreation, was closed due to safety and environmental concerns. Since then, repeated pleas from villagers for renovation and tourism development have gone unheard until now.

The village gained unexpected attention after a local youth, Thangapandi, posted an Instagram video glorifying Koomapatti as a “hidden island paradise,” comparing it to Kashmir and Kuttralam. His clips, filled with dramatic monologues about the dam’s beauty, went viral, leading to an influx of tourists unaware of the bathing ban.

A post shared by JP. gold (@dark_night_tn84)

Visitors arriving via Google Maps were met with disappointment. Unfortunately, those who arrived found the dam still inaccessible and off-limits, with no tourism facilities, no accommodation, and no telecom connectivity. Many were reportedly frustrated after long journeys. Ironically, it was Thangapandi himself who informed them that entry and bathing were prohibited.

Following the viral trend, the Public Works Department (PWD) stepped in, sealing off access to the dam and warning people against visiting. Officials reiterated that the dam area has been off-limits for years and urged the public to refrain from trespassing.

Despite the backlash for his unauthorized entry, Thangapandi’s video has drawn widespread attention to the dam’s neglected state. Locals hope the renewed spotlight will compel authorities to act on the ₹10 crore allocation and finally begin restoration work.

“This place has been a ghost site for five years. If this were your town, would you remain silent?” he says in the video, appealing to both public sentiment and government accountability.

PFI Made Hit Lists With 977 Names Targeting Judges, Activists, Politicians In Kerala: NIA Tells Court; Meanwhile Congress Cozies Up With Radical Outfits SDPI And Jamaat-E-Islami

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has revealed alarming information about an extensive plot allegedly orchestrated by the banned terrorist organization, Popular Front of India (PFI). In a recent submission to a special NIA court, the agency claimed that PFI had created “hit lists” containing the names of 977 individuals in Kerala, including judges, political workers, and activists.

This disclosure was made during the hearing of a bail plea filed by two accused Muhammad Bilal and Riyasudheen, linked to the murder of RSS leader K S Sreenivasan at Melamuri Junction in Palakkad in 2022. The NIA opposed their release, citing the discovery of multiple hit lists as evidence of a far-reaching conspiracy.

Extensive Target Lists, Intelligence Collection and Militant Training

According to the NIA, one of the key figures in the plot, Sirajudheen, a member of PFI’s so-called “Reporter Wing,” was found with a list naming 240 potential targets, most of them Hindu. The agency stressed that these documents indicated a planned operation posing a serious threat to public order and safety.

Another list was found in the wallet of accused Abdul Wahab, detailing at least five individuals, including a retired district judge from Kerala. A separate search at the residence of absconding suspect Ayoob T.A. led to the seizure of yet another list containing the names of 500 people. These targets spanned various walks of life, especially individuals involved in the legal and political spheres.

The NIA identified the “Reporter Wing” as a clandestine intelligence-gathering unit within PFI, responsible for collecting personal and professional details of potential targets. The information compiled by this group was then used to assemble these hit lists.

In addition to the lists, the agency said it had found documents indicating that PFI had been conducting weapons training at a facility in Periyar Valley, Aluva. The site has now been seized under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), with investigators treating it as a base used for extremist training purposes.

In response, the accused argued that the charges were baseless and politically motivated. Their legal counsel stated that both men had been in custody for more than three years, that the investigation had concluded, and that they were willing to comply with any conditions set by the court, including full cooperation with any ongoing inquiries.

The court, however, sided with the prosecution. Special Judge P.K. Mohandas of the NIA Court rejected the bail applications, citing the serious nature of the accusations. He stated there was prima facie evidence supporting the NIA’s claims and emphasized that releasing the accused at this stage could pose a threat to public safety and obstruct the course of justice. The judge also pointed out that the final charge sheet had been filed and the matter was now ready to proceed to trial.

Congress Cozying With Islamists

Even as the NIA informed the court that the banned outfit Popular Front of India (PFI) had prepared a chilling hit list with 977 names—including judges, activists, and politicians—in Kerala, the Congress finds itself embroiled in controversy for cozying up to the PFI’s political offshoot, SDPI.

On June 21, the foundation day of the radical Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), Congress MP Anto Antony welcomed party workers from SDPI at his office in Kerala. Led by Muhammad Rashid, the Aranmula constituency president of SDPI, the group brought laddus to mark the occasion, which were received and celebrated at the MP’s office.

The entire exchange, including the sweet distribution and interactions, was recorded and circulated widely on social media—sparking outrage and raising serious questions about Congress’s proximity to extremist-linked groups.

The incident has intensified criticism from political opponents, who accuse the Congress of pandering to communal elements for electoral gains. This follows earlier allegations during the Nilambur by-election, where the UDF was slammed for allegedly aligning with groups like Jamaat-e-Islami.

As the NIA exposes the violent underbelly of PFI’s operations, Congress’s public gestures toward SDPI have triggered a new storm: Is the party turning a blind eye to radicalism in the name of vote bank politics?

YouTuber & Christian Evangelist Nicholas Bowling Preaches And Converts Hindus In India, Flouting Visa Rules

A video of YouTuber and street preacher Nicholas Bowling popped up on social media recently. The said video which is about 11 months old on YouTube is about Bowling’s preaching trip to India which he labelled as “I Spent 7 Days Preaching in One of the Most Persecuted Nations!”

In the video, he chronicles his week spent in India where he is seen preaching and converting people – which is illegal for a foreign national and is blatantly violating visa norms.

Despite India’s strict regulations on religious proselytization, particularly by foreigners on tourist visas, Bowling openly preached in churches, village streets, and private homes, frequently seen encouraging Hindu attendees to convert to Christianity.

Who Is Nicholas Bowling?

Nicholas Bowling states he lived a reckless life filled with alcohol, drugs, and promiscuity. Despite outward appearances, he was depressed, broken, and empty. His turning point reportedly came during a crisis involving a felony charge, a breakup, and his father’s medical emergency. Claiming a radical encounter with God, Bowling abandoned his career path for ministry. His past, by his own admission, was marked by moral failure and self-destructive choices.

Evangelical Activity In Rural Andhra Pradesh

Throughout the 20-minute video, Bowling narrates how he received an invitation from India to minister in the villages of Andhra Pradesh. He opens the video with the claim that he spent “150 hours in one of the most dangerous Nations for Christians around 80% of India’s population are Hindu 14% are Muslim and only 2% are Christians.”

While doing so, he showcases the wrong map of India.

The numbers that he speaks of are from the 2011 national census. Bowling seems to use this wrong fact in his favour, he could have checked the latest data from Joshua Project‘s website which has pretty much recent data.

His first day shows him staying with a family of a pastor Jeevan in Andhra Pradesh. Bowling is seen ministering at a church where this pastor preached. He is also seen praying, preaching, and converting people at many homes in the state.

The next day he is seen going to Bethesda Prayer Hall in Hyderabad to preach at the Sunday morning service. He also proudly claims that “The pastor told me that 90% of the people in their Church were ex- Hindus who converted to Christianity only 10% of the members of their Church were born in Christian families.”

On the third day, he is seen at a church in another village where 14 different pastors came together for the service.

He narrates how “many of them had gone up into unreached Hindu Villages and preached the gospel and several of them had been beaten, stoned, ran out of the villages and even tied up to trees and left; but there were also many other stories good stories of healing Miracles that had taken place and of people who had gotten saved as they went to reach these people. This persecution that they had endured didn’t make them back down even a little bit, but they united together with the goal of reaching 10,000 villages with the gospel.”

He calls Hindus protecting themselves from these missionaries as “persecution”.

He also says, “We headed out to evangelize the village.” – Proof enough that he indulged in preaching.

On Day 4, he is seen going to another village where he is seen singing and ministering at someone’s home and proudly proclaims, “On the fourth day, we had another village Church service, but this time it was at someone’s home. As the service began some of the neighboring Hindus found out that there was an American who was coming, so they ended up coming to the service too, following the message we gave a Salvation call, and then prayed for people to be filled with the Holy Spirit and as the Holy Spirit mightily fell upon the people.”

In the same session, he is seen converting a Hindu couple. He says, “As we ministered and laid hands on each person, a Hindu couple came forward and something amazing happened. Do you accept Jesus, she says yes. Hallelujah.” He then asks them to “put your trust only in Jesus” and the couple say yes. He further says, “He is the only one who can save you, look to no other gods for help, God is a jealous God, there is only one God.”

Then he performs the miracles on a Hindu girl. He sadly said, “We didn’t see her convert to Christianity, but she came specifically for her child to be healed.”

After “healing” the girl, he says, “To me that speaks really loudly that another religion is coming to our God for healing and I believe that God healed that baby and she’s going to give her life to the Lord because of it.”

On the 5th day, he is seen preaching and “casting out demons”.

On the sixth day, he goes to yet another church with Jeevan, visited homes and ministering there, he stated they were mostly Jeevan’s relatives.

He also talks about how he conducted public gospel sessions in Hindu-majority villages and laid hands and prayed over Hindu individuals, declaring miraculous healings and deliverance from spirits. He has also claimed multiple conversions, including of Hindu men, women, and at least one pregnant woman seeking healing for her unborn child.

In one instance, a Hindu couple is shown converting to Christianity on camera, as Bowling declares, “Say you will have visions of Jesus… Look to no other gods for help. God is a jealous God. There is only one God.” In another scene, he says to a Hindu woman, “God will heal your baby to confirm the message of the Gospel… and you need to choose to trust Him alone.”

This kind of activity, recorded and published by Bowling himself, directly contradicts Indian visa stipulations, which prohibit religious preaching or conversion activities by foreign nationals unless they are on specifically designated missionary or religious visas which are almost never granted for public proselytization, particularly in areas sensitive to communal balance.

Under Indian visa regulations, foreign nationals entering India on tourist or business visas are strictly barred from engaging in:

  • Missionary activity
  • Public preaching
  • Conversion efforts
  • Organized religious gatherings

Additionally, Section 295A and 153A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) prohibit acts that deliberately or maliciously outraging religious feelings and promoting enmity between groups.

By Bowling’s own admission, he engaged in faith healing, including praying away cancer, grief, and infertility. He also promoted exclusive worship of Jesus while denouncing Hindu practices. He encouraged viewers to “turn away from sin and from other gods,” suggesting Hindu deities are false.

The coordinated nature of these activities, alongside a foreign evangelist, amplifies the seriousness of the alleged violations, implicating both foreign and local actors in religious conversion drives that could disrupt communal harmony.

It is noteworthy that an American preacher David Courney who arrived in Andhra Pradesh, married a local and went on to preach and convert in Manipur, was also seen instigating the Kukis before the riots in 2023.
