PC George lashes out at Pinarayi for not condoling death of Kerala nurse, asks if he is afraid of Hamas in Kerala

The leader of the Janapaksham party and former Poonjar MLA P C George came down heavily on Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and called him “irattachankan”, (man with two hearts) for not condoling the death of the Malayali nurse who was killed in Israel.

Soumya Santosh, who hailed from Kerala’s Idukki district died when Sunni Islamist organisation Hamas, launched a massive rocket attack from Gaza over the civilian population.

In a strong-worded FB post on Wednesday, George wrote “You are a conniver. This is a big example for indulging in appeasement eyeing few votes. Who are you fearing of? Palestine or Hamas? Or the Hamas in Kerala? Maybe for the junior comrades you may be double-hearted. But both those hearts are in the control of others.”

George was relentless in his attack and did not spare the communist leaders of the state. He said, “Those people who howl based on the direction from the AKG centre are also fast asleep. Kerala is making progress on the strength of the money sent by our children who earn from working abroad. Please show gratitude for that at least.”

Soumya Santosh who was working as a nurse in Israel died in the attack carried out by Hamas. She leaves behind her husband and a 9-year-old daughter.

Yogi Govt launches door-to-door measures to contain Wuhan Virus in rural areas

Utter Pradesh, India’s most populous state has initiated a house-to-house active case finding of COVID-19 in rural areas.

It has been led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to contain transmission by testing people with symptoms for rapid isolation, disease management, and contact tracing.

The UP government has deployed 141,610 teams and 21,242 supervisors to cover 97,941 villages in 75 districts over five days of this activity, which began on 5 May.

World Health Organisation has called this the most comprehensive drive to overcome COVID19.

On the first day itself WHO field officers monitored over 2,000 government teams that visited over 10,000 households in villages and remote hamlets to test everyone with symptoms of COVID-19 using Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) kits.

In this drive, those who test positive are isolated and given a medicine kit with advice on disease management. All contacts of those who test positive are quarantined and tested. People without signs of COVID-19 are told to get vaccinated and follow “COVID-appropriate behaviours” to prevent transmission.

WHO is also working along with the Uttar Pradesh government in training and micro-planning for the activity the drive.

HR&CE dept withdraws circular inviting ‘applications’ for apointment of ‘Jeeyar’

After facing backlash from Hindus, the Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) department has withdrawn the notice calling applications for the appointment of ‘Jeeyar’, the religious pontiff of the Vaishnava sampradaya.

On 6th May 2021, the HR&CE department issued a circular calling ‘applications’ for the post of Jeeyar saying that those belonging to the Thengalai sect of Vasihnava sampradaya and well versed in the Vedas, Agamas, Naalayira Divyaprabandham, and other temple traditions and rituals can apply. It said that the applications would be received till 4:00 PM, 8th of June.

Many practicing Hindus especially those of the Vaishnava sampradaya questioned as to why the government was interfering with Hindu traditions and customs alone. They had expressed their anger asking if the government has the guts to appoint the Cardinal or Archbishop of the Church or the Maulvi for a Mosque.

Political leaders like Arjun Sampath of the Indu Makkal Katchi and H. Raja of the BJP had severely criticized the move which came within days after the DMK assuming power.

Following the strong reaction from Hindus, HR&CE Minister Sekar Babu in a press meet a day ago had assured that appropriate action would be taken in consultation with relevant stakeholders.

DMK cadres resort to malpractice during issuance of COVID relief

Reports of the DMK resorting to malpractice during the distribution of the government-issued COVID relief has  come to light. DMK cadres in Thathakapatti in the Salem district had snatched away the tokens that had been kept for distribution to the public. These tokens were to be used to avail the government issued cash relief of ₹2000.

The public had to wait in the hot sun in long queues in vain. The DMK then proceeded to threaten the officer at the ration shop saying that the distribution of tokens will only be done by them and not him. This was the case in over 10 public distribution centres throughout the village.

A few members of the public even got into an argument with the members of the DMK regarding this issue. In a few centres, the DMK members threatened the press that had gathered there and prevented them from filming. In a few other centres, the DMK members fled the scene when they noticed that the crew was filming their malpractice.

DMK cadres in Tenkasi flout lockdown, gathers crowd to induct new members to party

The Tenkasi DMK wing flouted the lockdown restrictions imposed by its own government by gathering a crowd to hold a DMK membership drive. This lockdown has specifically been imposed by the DMK government to flatten the curve of the coronavirus spread. In light of the same, it is shocking to know that their own party members proceeded to flout the rules.

In Tenkasi, the DMK had gathered a group of hundred people to induct new members to the party. This was in clear violation of the lockdown restriction that has been imposed. It is to be noted that this event was organised to celebrate the induction of members for the parties to the DMK. This has made the entire group that gathered at risk for coronavirus infection.

Pictures of this event have gone viral, and many are commenting that their own party members are not following the lockdown restrictions imposed by the DMK.

DMK cadres took to unleashing their atrocities after they faced a humiliating defeat in the Coimbatore district. In the rage of not even wining a single seat in the district, DMK cadres in the region took to throwing crackers at homes with many getting injured.
