DMK Functionary Runs Katta Panchayat In Krishnagiri, Issues Social Boycott Diktats Against Dalit Couples For Love Marriage

The incident in which a DMK functionary fined a Dalit couple from Krishnagiri district for their love marriage has sparked outrage.

Arignar, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) union secretary for the Bargur South constituency in the Thogarapalli panchayat, runs a feudal ‘kangaroo courts’ in his area. The kangaroo court is ruled by patriarchal diktat. Its administrators claim to speak for the community, with the stated goal of exercising social control. Men set the agenda, and women are typically barred from participating. A fine is a form of social control that pushes people into poverty.

Pradeep, a diploma holder, married his long-time girlfriend, a B.Sc. Botony graduate, with their respective families’ approval. Both couples belonged to the same Dalit community, and the marriage was approved by both families. However, opposition came from an unexpected source. The Manayakarar (community head) of a Scheduled Caste village with over 200 households in Thogarapalli panchayat in Mathur held a community ‘court’ and fined the couple’s families 25,000.

Pradeep who was fined by the kangaroo court said, “In our village, people have had love marriages before too. But, these penalties started with my marriage after Arignar was made the community head. That was a huge amount. They threatened to disconnect our water and electricity connection. We were unable to fight and our families paid up ₹25,000 each. I even told my uncle, who was then posted at Mathur Police Station, but he suggested I pay and let go of any conflict.”

This was not an isolated incident in which the couple’s families were fined by DMK functionary Arignar for their love marriage, even within the same community.

In a similar incident, the same DMK functionary Arignar issued a social boycott order for Venkatesan, 56, a Havildar supervisor posted in Arunachal Pradesh. When he arrived for his mother’s funeral, he discovered that a boycott order had been issued.

It was revealed that because Venkatesan’s niece married within the same Dalit community in a ‘love-cum-arranged marriage,’ DMK functionary Arignar fined them Rs 25000 and issued a social boycott order when they refused to pay the fine.

Mr. Venkatesan said, “After a 12-hour bus ride from my Arunachal station, I flew to Chennai and then took a bus to Mathur.” But when I returned home, there was a disturbing scene. Because no one from our village was present, my family was forced to bury my mother with the assistance of strangers. That’s when we realized there was a social boycott against our family.” It is also stated that anyone who does not follow the community diktat will be fined Rs 10000.

In another such incident, Karunanidhi’s son fell in love with another girl belonging to the same community and got married without the knowledge of their family. In this case, DMK Arignar imposed a Rs 25000 fine on both families for having a love marriage just as both families were about to approve it.

Mr. Karunanidhi was forced into poverty as a result of the fine. He sold his only milch cow to pay the fine plus 600 as ‘Thappu’ (penalty on penalty). “My cow was my sole source of revenue. I used to get 500 to 1,000 per week,” he explained. After selling the cow to pay the fine, he now works on construction sites mixing cement. “I’m getting old, and I can’t do much manual labor because of my eyesight,” said Mr. Karunanidhi.

Mr. Karunanidhi and his family attempted self-immolation outside the Collectorate on February 15, 2021, drawing attention to the family’s ongoing social boycott. He filed a complaint at Mathur Police Station against Mr. Arignar, demanding that the ‘fine’ be returned. But, he claimed, nothing came of it.

Mr. Arignar, on the other hand, denies holding illegal Katta panchayats. “Without social control, how can we maintain the sanctity of the social structure? Otherwise, everything will fall apart. We need a Kattamaippu and a Kattupaadu. Ask anybody in the village, nobody has any complaints. We use the fine of ₹25,000 for the public good — for the temple festival, and to help people during deaths in the family,” he explained.

Inspector Murugan of Mathur police station, on the other hand, denied all allegations of Katta Panchayat and fines, stating that “there is a political motive behind the allegations and no such fines are collected in the said village.”

“Crown Prince Will Always Be A Playboy”: Annamalai Attacks Udhayanidhi

Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai slammed the DMK government and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, accusing them of producing films to promote DMK’s “Crown Prince” Udhayanidhi Stalin.

On Wednesday (7 December 2022) while addressing a protest gathering at Annur, the BJP Tamil Nadu chief came down heavy on the DMK government led by MK Stalin, which has issued an order to acquire 3731 acres of land for setting up the TIDCO industrial park. Farm lands in six panchayats in the Coimbatore district, including Pallipalayam, Iluppanantham, Pogalur, Kuppanur, Akkarai Sengampalli, Vadakalur in Mettupalayam, and Annur unions are being acquired for the purpose.

Farmers in the area have formed a group called ‘Namathu Nilam Namathe’ to protest the acquisition of agricultural land for the construction of an industrial park. In this case, a protest was held on Wednesday (Dec. 7) against the DMK government’s acquisition of agricultural lands on the Annur-Othimalai road, led by the BJP Tamil Nadu state president Annamalai.

In a rally, Annamalai slammed the DMK government, accusing them of releasing films to promote “Crown Prince” Udhayanidhi Stalin.

Attacking Udhayanidhi, Annamalai said that no matter how much money is spent on promoting Udhayanidhi, “the Crown Prince will only remain a playboy.”

Annamalai said, “After coming to power, they released four movies to promote the Crown Prince. I’m telling this here – Be it for 80 years, even if 80 movies are released, or ₹8000 crore is spent, the Crown Prince will only remain a playboy.”

Making a reference to Udhayanidhi’s portrayal of a cop in Nenjukku Needhi, the BJP leader went on to say that wearing the police uniform should require a certain stature.

“The basic stature is to give assurance that I’ll protect the people and work for the people, but having Rs 120 crore, a production company, and hoping to become people’s protector will only happen in one’s dreams,” Annamalai said.

He also stated that “the Crown Prince will be crowned on December 12,” implying that Udhayanidhi will be sworn in as a cabinet minister the following week.

CSI Pays ₹1 Per Acre As Annual Rent For ₹800 Cr Worth Land In Erode, Claims Ownership Using Fake Documents

The Madras High Court has ordered the CSI Trust management, which was illegally occupying 12.66 acres of land worth ₹800 crores at the heart of Erode, to hand over that land to the government.

The CSI Trust illegally operates a church, educational institute, hostels, and hospitals on 12.66 acres of land near Panneerselvam Park in Erode. The CSI management created fake documents claiming that the land was obtained through an auction from the then-British government 100 years ago, and then requested the Survey officer that the land be transferred to the CSI and a title deed be issued. Following this, CSI trust got the title deed for the 800 crore property.

However, the Special Tahsildar of Erode, who was skeptical of the title deed, petitioned the Administrative Commissioner of Revenue against the CSI management, requesting an investigation. Following an investigation, it was discovered that the land belonged to the government and that the CSI management was illegally occupying it using forged documents. Later, the trial was held in the Madras High Court after the CSI management decided to appeal the Revenue Commissioner’s orders.

Recently, Justice M. Thandapani of the Madras High Court issued an order in this case. Madras High Court Advocate Jayganesh stated in this regard:

A person named Bobley purchased 12.66 acres of land in the heart of Erode from the British government in 1905 for a London missionary for ₹12,910. Later the place was enjoyed by CSI Trust Management. The place had the then Sub-Collector’s bungalow and grounds around it. However, after the British left, the CSI administration brought the entire place under their control.”

He continued,” On June 30, 2010, Erode Settlement Officer gave the Patta for the land to CSI before few days of his retirement. The then-Special Tahsildar of Erode filed an appeal with the Commissioner of Revenue Administration against the Settlement Officer’s decision. The Commissioner of Revenue Administration ordered an inquiry into the land occupied by the CSI management.”

He proceeded, “The Special Tahsildar of Erode summoned all parties and informed them that the land, valued at 800 crores under current guidelines, belonged to the government. He submitted a 30-page investigation report to the Commissioner of Revenue Administration saying that the land has to be handed over to the government. Meanwhile, according to Erode Corporation’s ‘Master Plan – 2,’ an 80-foot road can be built from a portion of the area to the railway station.”

The CSI and Trustees filed a case in the Madras High Court against the government’s order. The suit has been joined by a group of devotees of the famous Mariyamman Temple, which is located outside the 12.66-acre plot, and the Erode People’s Welfare Association. This case went to trial in 2015. CSI filed the sale certificate for the land they already owned on behalf of the trust management.

Petitioners stated in their affidavit, “Except for the building built by the CSI Foundation for social work on 12.66 acres of government land, the CSI administration has been paying an annual rent of ₹1 per one acre. According to the terms of the agreement, CSI and Trust Management have been paying rent to the government. However, the government has refused to collect the rent beyond the specified period.”

Therefore, the devotees and the government informed the court that, with the exception of the buildings constructed by the CSI Trust, all of the other land belongs to the government.

After examining the documents, Justice M. Dandapani of Madras High Court said, “Because the land belongs to the government, the Erode Corporation can immediately take it for the construction of an 80-foot road in a portion of it. Furthermore, the Chief Secretary, the Secretary of Revenue, and the Commissioner of Revenue Administration should ensure that the road works proceed smoothly.”

He directed that the rest of the land, except for the buildings of CSI, be reclaimed by the government.

Complaint Filed Against Foreign-Funded Christian Evangelist Org With A Deceptive Name

A conversion racket that involves an evangelical, missionary organization cleverly disguised as a charity under a seemingly innocent, misleading name – RailHope India has come to light which preys on unsuspecting, gullible railway employees, traders, shop keepers, service providers and passengers.

The organization RailHope India says in its website that it is a prayer fellowship for “brothers and sisters” in Jesus, serving in the Indian railway network or for anyone retired from Indian railways.

“But we also welcome anyone with an interest in railways, either as model railway hobbyists, railway enthusiasts or even if you are from another transport service”., the missionary organization says.

It goes on to say that “RailHope International exists to promote Christian fellowship through prayer and spiritual services”.

The organization claims to produce multilingual print media wall calendar featuring trains from around the world and “inspirational and encouraging Bible verses” on each page, along with the contact details of the RailHope representative from each country.

The charity’s web page goes on to give a history of the parent organization, Railhope International (railhope.net), headquartered in the U.S, whose stated mission is: “Christians who work with the railway (and other public transport companies) shall be encouraged to start local or regional prayer meetings and to form a national association”.

The website continues with “testimonials” of converts, following a typical pattern – the convert’s former religion, their hardships or insecurity, their sudden ‘miraculous’ exposure to the Bible, delusions of extraordinary, supernatural, ‘magical’ experiences, interactions with other Christian converts who take them to local churches Etc, eventually leading to their conversion to Christianity, supposedly due to the power of “the only true god and saviour in the whole world”!

The Indian chapter (railhopeindia.in) is quite blatant in stating the following:

“Our Lord is reaching, calling to people who do not know Him, asking them to follow Him into His Kingdon and accept the free gift of eternal life that can only be found through the precious gift, Jesus Christ [sic]”.

The organization is run by one David Rao and a woman named Sarahu Abhinaya. In his testimonial published in the website, David Rao describes himself as a once “devout Hindu”, in a country of idol worshippers with a “95%” Hindu population. H reporteldy served in Indian Navy for 15 years and later moved to Saudi to work in the oil field. He currently works at Subhavaarta TV Channel.

The man in his testimonial states, “I used to worship trees, Money, sun, moon, stars, cows, snakes, hills and many, many stones and mountains, water, fire and what not. What a blind faith. In India they worship three millions of Gods”.

Sarahu Abhinaya, who is now working as a ticket inspector for the Southern Railway in Chennai talks of her conversion to Christianity saying that regular “prayer meetings” were held among a growing group of christian employees. This sparks a concern whether such evangelical activity is happening unchecked on Government of India (GOI) premises and very likely, on government time, when employees are expected to discharge their duties.

Another man named S. Arulraj is identified as a RailHope International evangelist.

It is important to note that RailHope India which doesn’t feature in the list of FCRA-registered organizations has received foreign funds from Rail Hope International, Switzerland which has allegedly been used for proselytizing purposes.

In light of this, a complaint has been filed by Legal Rights Observatory (LRO) against the organization seeking probe into the organizations funding and activities.

Sadhguru Kicks Off #ScoreForSoil Global Campaign On World Soil Day

“This footballing season, I want you to understand, every 5 seconds we are losing one football field worth of soil; it’s becoming a desert. In the last 25 years, we have lost 10% of this planet (soil) to desertification. So as a part of this, let us continue the (Save Soil) movement and have a ball too,” said Sadhguru, Founder, Isha Foundation, kicking off the #ScoreForSoil campaign on the occasion of World Soil Day in Bangalore on Monday.

https://www.instagram.com/reel/ClxnlZttcS4/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y%3D

Launched in the backdrop of the Football World Cup, the #ScoreForSoil campaign encourages people to put up a video on social media of their best football shot and #ScoreForSoil in support of the ongoing Save Soil movement.

Interacting with the media, after the launch, Sadhguru observed, “The most significant aspect right now is the narrative on the planet has shifted,” referring to the fact that there was no mention of soil in COP26 at Glasgow, while soil figured prominently in the climate change discussions in the COP27 held recently in Egypt. “When we started there was so much skepticism, but right now I have no doubt that soil regenerative policies across the world will definitely happen. Right now my concern is only the pace. To keep the pace all of you must keep the voice up in many different ways so that the pace is kept,” added Sadhguru stressing urgent policy interventions to halt and reverse soil degradation.

Earlier, Sadhguru was spotted cruising through the streets of Bengaluru in his trademark black goggles and Save Soil gear, which brought back memories of his superhuman lone motorcycle journey across 27 countries riding 30,000 km, and still finding the time to address 691 events… all in just 100 days.

At a time when the world is ravaged by the mental health pandemic, Sadhguru linked poor soil quality as one of the incriminating factors. “Right now many of the chronic ailments and mental illnesses are very directly linked to the lack of micronutrients present in the food that we are consuming. There was a time when simply getting food was important. Now a time has come we have to term this where quality food is important – just food is not important.”

The organic content in the soil is the basic ingredient in making life forms on earth and A. S. Kiran Kumar, Former ISRO Director saw its reduction as a threat. Calling for corrective actions, he said, “That is where the Save Soil movement, which brings to focus that for life forms to survive the necessary ingredients which are present in the soil should be brought back and we need to work for that.”

On a question pertaining to the Cauvery Calling movement, Sadhguru revealed, “Overall we have converted about 1,32,000 farmers into regenerative agriculture farming which includes tree-based agriculture,” which has resulted in a 300%-800% increase in income of the farmers. The farmers in the region have begun to realize the financial and ecological benefits, as nearly 27-30% of the offtake of sapling this year has happened without incentive, he updated. Cauvery Calling is a campaign to support farmers to plant 242 crore trees in their private lands and revitalize Cauvery and act as a demonstrable model to save soil.

The burgeoning support for the Save Soil movement was evident again today, as people across the world came together on World Soil Day to amplify the message of the movement. Over 1,000 awareness drives were held across the globe to nudge respective governments to act urgently to combat Soil extinction. In India, Save Soil events were conducted in more than 100 locations. In the APAC region, restaurants screened Save Soil videos before and after the FIFA World Cup matches. Save Soil gatherings were seen in front of the parliament across 18 cities.

According to The Economics and Land Degradation (ELD) Initiative 2015, 52% of our planet’s agricultural soil has already degraded and is incapable of yield. Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) predicts crop yields could fall upto 50% in certain regions by 2050 due to climate change and soil extinction. Understanding the urgency, Sadhguru, in March, undertook a 100-day, 30,000 km solo bike journey across 27 nations in Europe, Central Asia, Middle East and 11 Indian states.

The movement, in a short span of time, has met with resounding success, reaching over 3.91 billion people. 81 nations have committed to frame soil-friendly policies. International organizations that are leading ecological action, such as the International Union of Conservation of Nations (IUCN) and United Nations (UN) agencies – United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), World Food Programme (WFP) – and many others have come forward to partner with the movement.

VCK Goons Attempt To Assault IMK Chief Arjun Sampath While Garlanding Ambedkar Statue

A furore erupted after Hindu Munnani, a pro-Hindu organization, pasted Dr. BR Ambedkar’s saffron-clad wall posters throughout the Thanjavur region of Tamil Nadu.

The nation marked the 66th anniversary of Ambedkar’s passing on Tuesday. On the anniversary of Dr. BR Ambedkar’s passing, a poster purportedly put up by Indu Makkal Katchi in some areas of the state showed him wearing saffron with vibhuti (sacred ash ) and kumkum (vermilion) on his forehead.

The poster also has images of Indu Makkal Katchi leader Arjun Sampath and another party representative.

The poster read “Let us praise the glory of the saffron (epic) leader.” Several activisits questioned the leader’s portrayal after the poster went viral on social media, with some VCK cadres tearing the posters in several places.

Arjun Sampath, the founder of Indu Makkal Katchi, claimed that there was nothing wrong with the posters depicting Ambedkar as a Hindu. Arjun Sampath said,  “Ambedkar is a national leader and not confined to specific boundaries in a region. Whenever the Hindu organizations observe his birth or death anniversaries on April 14 or December 6, certain organizations criticize the Sanathana Dharma.”

In his tweet, he said, “Let’s tear the mask of those who indulge in caste politics in the name of Ambedkar.”

Later that day, VCK goons attempted to attack Arjun Sampath while he was paying respect to the Ambedkar statue in Raja Annamalai Puram, Chennai. The police had to be called in to safely escort him out of the area. However, Arjun Sampath filed a petition before the Madras High Court seeking directions to the Pattinambakkam Police Department to provide security for him while paying respect to legal luminary Dr. Ambedkar at his memorial in Raja Annamalai Puram. The Madras High Court has ordered Pattinampakkam police to provide adequate security for Arjun Sampath. It should be noted that VCK goons disguised as lawyers tried to attack Arjun Sampath inside the court premises.

VCK members, led by VCK Deputy General Secretaries Vanniyarasu and VCK functionary Rajinikanth, protested against Arjun Sampath, who came to pay respects to Ambedkar’s statue in Adyar, Chennai.

Vanniyarasu and his fellow VCK goons then attempted to assault Arjun Sampath by throwing sandals at him, a video of which has gone viral on social media. Following this, the police arrested VCK goons including Vanniyarasu who were involved in a road blockade and assaulting Arjun Sampath. According to the police, 29 people, including Vanniarasu, were detained and later released at 8.30 p.m. In addition, the police have informed that they have filed a case against 20 people under five different sections.

Despite the VCK goons’ hooliganism, Arjun Sampath later garlanded the Ambedkar statue and paid his respects. In his tweet after posting the video, he said, “Jai Bheem, Jai Ambedkar, and Ban VCK.”

VCK MP Thirumavalavan Insults Hinduism At Christian Book Launch Event

Thirumavalavan, the chief of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi and a Lok Sabha MP, has once again spewed venom on Hinduism while speaking at a Christian book launch event.

VCK chief Thirumavalavan released a book by Nandini Krishnan named “Uthirntha Kavithaigal” which is a compilation of poems written by late pastor John Suresh. While speaking at the event, VCK chief Thirumavalavan said, “Sanatana Dharma has been opposed in this land (Tamil Nadu) for more than a thousand years. 10 years ago, for an advertisement, I said ‘Adhi Bhagavan’ Buddha is the first anti-Sanatana Dharma fighter. The word ‘Aadhi Bhagavan’ used by Thiruvalluvar denotes Gautama Buddha.”

He further said, “The Buddha movement is an anti-Sanatana Dharma movement. He is not a spiritual leader. He is not a religious leader. He is anti-Sanatana Dharma fighter. This was confirmed by Ambedkar. The preamble of our constitution written by Ambedkar shows that Ambedkar is anti-Sanatana Dharma.”

He continued, “Ambedkar’s mention of liberty, equality, and fraternity in our constitution’s preamble demonstrate that he is anti-Sanatana Dharma. They (Hindus) insulted Ambedkar when he used the words liberty, equality, and fraternity in the preamble. They charged Ambedkar with plagiarising those words from the French Revolution. However, Ambedkar told his detractors that he borrowed those words from Gautama Buddha, not the French Revolution.”

Thiruma said, “Buddha wanted to spread liberty, equality, and fraternity because India did not have these qualities. It is because this land (India) was plagued with Sanatana Dharma, it did not have liberty, equality, and fraternity. Sanatana Dharma is entirely based on discrimination, and Manu is the one who turned that discrimination into law. Discrimination is the basis for both Sanatana Dharman and Manusmriti. It was Gautama Buddha who fought this discrimination by Manu and Sanatana Dharma without resorting to violence or armed rebellion.”

He stated, “When Ambedkar wrote our constitution, he wanted it to be diametrically opposite to Sanatana Dharma. Though our constitution is against Sanatana Dharma, it still exists on the ground. That is why we still have ‘Agraharams’ (places where Brahmins live in groups) and slums. That is why there are still honor killings and separate crematoriums for different castes. Still, Sanatana Dharma and Manusmriti reign supreme across all platforms. This demonstrates that our constitution is only partially in force and is not fully enforced.”

He went on to say, “Women and Dalits are unable to shine in politics because of Sanatana Dharma. Dalits cannot gain clout in any large non-caste party. In large parties, we can’t even become union secretaries. This is the reality. Women hold prominent positions in VCK, including district secretary, state secretary, and others. However, we never see women or Dalits in prominent positions in large political parties. This discrimination is also due to the prevalence of Sanatana Dharma in our society.”

He stated that while Dalits, women, and tribals can become President or Governors in this country, they will never be Prime Ministers or members of the RSS in positions of influence.

“Though there is a special marriage act and a Hindu marriage act, they are designed in such a way that they do not affect the caste structure in this society. However, there is no discrimination in Christianity and Islam, unlike Hinduism.” he said.

“Manusmriti is what motivates caste fanatics to kill brides and grooms who marry outside their caste. The only way to combat the discrimination promoted by Sanatana Dharma and Manusmriti is to implement our constitution to at least 50% of its full extent.”, Thirumavalavan further added.

He further said, “It is Manusmriti which is preventing widow remarriage. The only way to address this issue is to put our constitution into action. Because Dalits number more than 30 crores, they (Sanatanis) act as if they are nice to Dalits. It is their strategy to become hostile to us Dalits.”

Dalits and Tribals together constitute 35 crores of our population. They look cordial to Dalits and Tribals because they are afraid we will convert to another religion. It is their strategy to celebrate Ambedkar in order to stop conversion among Dalits.

He continued, “Conversion to Islam and Christianity is highest among Dalits and Tribals, compared to all other communities. They (Sanatanis) wanted to stop this. Hence, they appear cordial to us. We should not be deceived by their strategy to stop conversion.”

Christian Missionary NGO Accused Of Converting SC/ST Children In TN And AP

A Christian NGO named Bethanya Vision Ministries Trust has been accused of  targeting children from vulnerable communities, particularly those from nomadic tribes in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

Children from the Narikuravar and Chenchu communities in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, respectively, were reportedly the targets of Bethanya Vision Trust (BVMT), an FCRA NGO operating out of Tamil Nadu. It also targets families who depend on daily labor and cannot afford to care for their children at home or send them to school. It operates 2 “children’s homes” in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

On its website, BVMT describes itself as a Christian ministry. It states that its mission statement is to “bear witness to the Lord Jesus Christ as our only Savior and of the advantages of knowing and following Him.”

The Gypsy New Life Children’s Home, established in 2015 and run by the FCRA NGO, targets Narikuravar children and currently houses 60 of them, with the local pastor in charge.

Narikuravar is a nomadic tribe that used to hunt in the wild but now makes a living by selling beads and trinkets. They must leave their families for an extended period of time, and children are frequently left in the care of the elders. This community has been largely ignored by the government, and they are unable to access schemes or provide proper education to their children because caste certificates are required. As a result, they are vulnerable to missionary predators. BVMT identifies such children and brings them to their ‘children’s home,’ where they receive a promising education.

Similarly, quarry workers’ children are targeted, and BVMT runs another children’s home in Thiruneermalai. It began operations in 2018 and currently houses 50 inmates, who are cared for by pastor Raj and his wife Layaal.

Thirty children of Chennai Corporation sanitation workers are housed in the St. Thomas Children’s Home.

Additionally, BVMT manages a Tribal Children’s Home in Andhra Pradesh with around 50 members of the local Chenchu tribe under its custody. This home, which opened in 2015, is also run by a local pastor.

For the children of daily laborers, the NGO also operates a community centre in Donakonda, Andhra Pradesh. These kids are forced to attend Christian prayer meetings and pray, as is evident from the images posted on the BVT international and BVT India websites.

The BVMT in Washington, USA, with whom BVT India is affiliated, has a fundraising page on its website for a number of kids whose parents have Christian names but whose names sound Hindu. According to the NGO Darpan portal, it was funded by Crisis Rescue International Ministries, which uses Bharatiya children as pawns on its social media pages to solicit donations.

According to the company’s YouTube channel, India is the epicenter of Child Sex Trafficking, which states that, “we run children’s homes in India, which is known as the world’s epicenter of child sex trafficking.” The purpose of its mission trips is to transport North Americans to “perform evangelical outreach, raise awareness of human trafficking, and provide Christmas celebration with orphaned and rescued children.” Crisis Rescue International Ministries’ mission statement reads, “Provide Rescue, Care, and Housing to Orphans, Abandoned Children and Those Trafficked for the Purpose of Slave Labor or sex in the 10/40 Parallel Window and Promote the Awareness of Human Trafficking Globally through Evangelical Mission Trips.”

The nations that are located between 10° and 40° North of the equator are known as the 10/40 window. Due to the residents’ opposition to Christian proselytizing, The Joshua Project refers to it as the “Resistant Belt.” In relation to this, Legal Rights Protection Forum has discovered violations of the Juvenile Justice Act, SC-ST Act, and Foreign Contribution Regulation Act in the BBVMT-run children’s homes. It has complained and asked for the cancellation of its FCRA license by highlighting these violations.
