The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Thursday expressed confidence of securing a 4-0 victory in the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections, following victories across several college students’ union elections held on 18 September 2026.
According to ABVP, it secured clean sweeps at multiple colleges. At Aditi Mahavidyalaya, the organisation won all posts, while its panel recorded a 6-0 victory at Sri Aurobindo College (Morning), won all eight posts at Bharati College and secured another 6-0 clean sweep at Shivaji College.
At Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar College, ABVP won all four posts. At Keshav Mahavidyalaya, its candidates won the three key posts of President, Vice President and Secretary by substantial margins.
ABVP also claimed victories at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College, where its candidates won the posts of President and Secretary as well as both Central Councillor posts. At Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), ABVP candidates won all posts, including President, Secretary and both Councillor posts.
At the Department of Library Sciences, ABVP candidates won the posts of President and Minister along with both Central Councillor posts.
Following these victories, ABVP said it expects students to extend similar support to its DUSU central panel comprising Yash Dabas for President, Eshu Maurya for Vice President, Riya Chhabri for Secretary and Lakshyaraj Singh for Joint Secretary.
The organisation said the results of the college elections demonstrated broad support for its candidates and expressed confidence that the DUSU results would also produce a 4-0 victory for its panel.
Meanwhile, ABVP alleged that attempts were made by persons associated with the Congress-affiliated National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) to influence the electoral process.
At Dyal Singh College, according to ABVP, two individuals were handed over to the police for allegedly distributing pamphlets containing incorrect details about ABVP’s name and panel. The organisation said another individual had earlier been handed over to the police in connection with a similar matter.
ABVP also claimed that at LC-2 (Morning), a female student who arrived at the polling station with a fake identity card was caught by security personnel, while two other female students left the spot.
The organisation demanded an investigation into the incidents and action under the applicable rules against anyone found guilty. It also said that all its candidates and workers had been instructed to comply fully with the Delhi High Court’s directions concerning the elections and the rules prescribed by Delhi University.
ABVP Delhi State Secretary Sarthak Sharma said, “The DUSU election is not an election for Rahul Gandhi’s President’s seat; it is a democratic election of the students of Delhi University, and the students here will decide its outcome.”
“The entire political machinery of Congress, along with IYC and NSUI, made every possible attempt to influence the election, but the students of Delhi University make their decisions based on their own judgment,” he said.
Sharma said ABVP had received broad support in the college elections and would receive similar support in the DUSU election. On the alleged fake ID and pamphlet incidents, he said the cases involving people associated with NSUI should be “impartially investigated” and action taken against those found guilty.
ABVP also welcomed the Delhi High Court’s directions concerning the election process, including the prohibition on victory processions, and said its workers had been instructed to comply fully with the court’s orders.
The DUSU election results will determine the President, Vice President, Secretary and Joint Secretary of the students’ union.
