Security agencies have launched an intensive investigation after receiving information that Mohammed Shariq, the main suspect in the Mangaluru cooker bomb blast case, visited Suchindram and Kanyakumari temples on a bike while staying in Nagercoil.
It has been confirmed that Mohammed Shariq was staying in a private lodge in Meenakshipuram, Nagercoil, under a false name, and with forged documents.
During the investigation, the lodge staff stated,”If he went out in the morning, he would only return to the room at night. But no one came here to meet him.”
However, details about whome he met and other details are yet to be unravelled by investigating officers.
According to the investigation, the suspect Shariq inquired about Kanyakumari Bhagavathy Amman Temple and Suseendram Thaanumalayaan Temple from a lodge employee and then rode his bike to those temples. Intelligence agencies are actively pursuing the investigation in this regard.
The Mangaluru police have returned to Karnataka after a four-day investigation in the Kanyakumari district. Further investigations are on. An investigation is also underway to determine who Shariq met in Idalaakudy and Manavaalakurichi.
