After TM Krishna, singer Srinivas joins the woke vocalist club, bats for banning crackers

Srinivas, a popular playback singer from Tamil Nadu shared his two cents of wokeness on the occassion of Deebavali calling for a ban on fire crackers.

Yoga guru and Isha Foundation head Sadhguru  Jaggi Vasudev had in a tweet said that parents should not rob their children the joy of bursting firecrackers. He said that if they were so concerned about the pollution, they can sacrifice by walking to their office for three days and let the kids have the fun of bursting crackers.

Responding to this tweet, singer Srinivas said that he too enjoyed bursting firecrackers as a kid adding that it wasn’t wise to do the same now and went on to call Jaggi Vasudev’s comments as irresponsible.

Continuing his rant, Srinivas went on to assume that all those who lashed out at his tweet were followers of Sadhguru and asked them to listen to videos of Jiddu Krishnamurthy (a theosophist).

He said that being part of a cult is a sad thing to do in life taking a jibe at followers of Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev. Srinivas went a step ahead and called those disagreeing with his views as ‘morons’.

“It is nice to identify and block morons”, he said.

He even implied that India is an uncivilized country as people burst firecrackers to celebrate Deebavali.

Srinivas has now restricted the viewership of this twitter rant.

This is not the first time a singer had made remarks against Sadhguru. Earlier in 2020, a card-carrying leftist and Islamist apologizer singer TM Krishna went on a tirade against Sadhguru after the latter mentioned that he is far more left than anyone can imagine.

The fireworks industry is a large industry which employs over 2,50,000 people with an estimated turn over of ₹20 billion. It is the only source of livelihood for people in and around the region of Sivakasi. Many other allied industries like printing, packaging, are also dependent on it.

For this Deebavali, ₹4,500 crores worth crackers were sold across India.
