In a sad case of online friendship gone awry, a 32-year-old woman from Kollam, Kerala, who had travelled 300 km to meet her ‘online friend’ Ajnaz, was allegedly gang-raped by him and his three other friends, Fahadh, Nijaz and Suhaib.

The victim had become friends with her rapist over the video streaming platform TikTok in Kerala’s Kozhikode.

As per reports, all four of the accused are now arrested.

The woman was given some drugs and alcohol which left her incapacitated and was assaulted.

Later, 26-year-old Ajnaz and 36-year-old Fahadh were arrested on Friday and remanded into police custody. Nijaz and Suhaib, natives of Atholi, were taken into police custody on Saturday.

The woman fell into the trap when she came into contact via the online video sharing platform TikTok two years ago. On the pretext of love, Ajnaz invited her to Kozhikode to meet him. Once she reached there, Ajnaz and Fahadh took her to a hotel on the outskirts of the city and Ajnaz raped her and then invited Fahadh into the room.

Later they allegedly forced her to drink alcohol and consume other drugs and raped her over and over. The accused also filmed the act on their phones.

But the ordeal did not end there. Two days ago, Ajnaz brought her to a flat and two more of his friends also raped her after drugging her, the police said. After the brutal assault, fearing that she may die, they dropped her at a private hospital and fled.

As per the police, one of the accused has criminal antecedents.

Chevayur police has registered cases under section 376D of IPC and IT Act.

It should be noted that recently, Bishop of the Syro-Malabar Church Joseph Kallarangatt had said that “Muslims use love-jihad and narcotic-jihad to end the non-Muslims.”

According to the Bishop of the Syro Malabar Church, “Jihadis, through love or other means, use women from other religions for misusing, for terrorist activities, or for economic gains. Those trying to prove that there’s no ‘love jihad’ are trying to feign ignorance. It’s not just a love marriage, it’s a war strategy.”

“There is a plan going on to forcefully bring in Muslim thoughts and all Catholics should be aware of this and be watchful,” Kallarangatt had said.
