After two decades, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won 4 seats – Nagercoil, Modakurichi, Tirunelveli and Coimbatore South – in the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections.
The BJP Central leadership is leaving no stone unturned to use this opportunity and increase the presence of the party in the grassroots.
In light of this, the Central leadership decided making some crucial changes by elevating the then State President Dr. L. Murugan to a Union Minister and making former IPS officer K. Annamalai as the new chief of the party in the state.
Recently, a consultative meeting was held in New Delhi by the BJP Central leadership to deliberate on the next moves in Tamil Nadu. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda were part of the meeting. BJP Tamil Nadu President K. Annamalai too had visited Delhi and met several leaders of the Central leadership.
According to reports, the BJP is targeting to win 5 Lok Sabha seats from Tamil Nadu in 2024. The Tamil Nadu BJP along with the Central leadership is making elaborate plans with notable developments set to take place in the coming days.
