Christianity which claims itself to be a ‘casteless religion’ and its evangelists who bash the native Hindu religion especially targeting the Brahmins for ‘promoting caste system’ has now co-opted the same system to cater to the converts. In an apparent attempt to spread their religion, evangelists are spearheading a separate ‘Brahmin Christian’ identity among converted Hindus as reported by the Organiser.
For a long time, evangelical groups and organizations of different denominations have led an aggressive anti-Brahmin campaign in South India with the support of Dravidian outfits, especially the DMK. However, this attempt to entice and promote Brahmin Christian identity has exposed their hypocrisy.
Evangelists have created an ‘exclusive Christian’ matrimony portal with a subset of Brahmin-Christian matrimonial website.
This is an attempt to keep the flocks of converted Brahmin boys and girls within the fold and according to the website, “Angel Matrimony was founded to help people find happiness by redefining the way Christian brides and Christians grooms meet for marriage”.
This Christian matrimony site promises to ‘find a perfect Brahmin Christians life partner’. The website openly boasts of having ‘millions of Brahmin Christian matrimony brides’.
This is seen by many experts who keep an eye on evangelical proliferation and proselytization as a policy of ‘salami-slicing’.
This is a strategy wherein, evangelicals play the game of divide and rule by targeting social groups in the Hindu society and creating and exploiting the fault lines.
A research-scholar was quoted saying in the Organiser that “The evangelists indulge in ‘salami-slicing’ of Hindu community. They are slowly hijacking and digesting the Hindu community. Evangelists provide logistical and financial support to aggressive and violent tribal and Dalit movements in India. Flush with funds, they exploit fault lines existing in the Hindu society and aggravate social schism.”
Already for decades, evangelists have been playing the game to create faultlines within various Hindu communities. Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu have seen a surge in evangelical activities and the government of Jagan Mohan Reddy is using state machinery to promote Christianity.
A lot of freedom was given to NGOs who in fact were part of Christian conversion mafia during the Sonia Gandhi-led UPA regime.
Christian missionaries came by the thousands with massive funds from foreign entities and operated with impunity across India, especially South India.
Recently a viral video emerged where the Christian pastor was openly claiming that during the DMK regime in Tamil Nadu the Church had all the opportunity to push its agenda in the school curriculum.
