2 feet tall temple kalasam found in river canal in Thoothukudi causes stir

A 2 feet tall Temple kalasam that was found abandoned in a canal in Naalattinputhur, a village in Thoothukudi district’s Kovilpatti taluka has caused quite a stir. It was found attached to a long stick in a water canal with a heavy rock at the other end of the stick.

The gram panchayat officials were immediately notified after the kalasam was found. The officials then went on to complain to the local police who retrieved the kalasam and are now investigating about the incident.

The kalasam that was retrieved was found to be made of copper and was two feet tall. It was found to be fastened to a ten feet long stick. It is suspected that whomsoever had stolen the kalasam abandoned it in the water canal, planning to retrieve it later.

A search operation is going on in the canal to find out if the robbers had stolen anything else other than the kalasam from the temple. There are also investigations going on to figure out the identity of the perpetrators and see if they had any other motive for throwing away the kalasam in the river canal
