The Joseph Vijay TVK government has appointed party spokesperson and YouTuber Felix Gerald as the Chairperson of the Tamil Nadu State Minorities Commission for a three-year term, as reported in Dinamalar.
The appointment was notified through Government Order dated 5 August 2026.

According to the government order, the Tamil Nadu State Minorities Commission had been reconstituted for a period of three years. The previous Chairperson, Rev. Fr. Joe Arun, had resigned from the post, and the government subsequently accepted his resignation.
Following this, the government nominated Felix Gerald as the new Chairperson of the Commission. The order states that he will hold the position for a period of three years.
Felix Gerald is a spokesperson for the Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) and has been associated with the party’s political activities. His appointment therefore places a prominent TVK functionary in charge of the statutory body responsible for addressing matters concerning minority communities in Tamil Nadu.
Before entering active politics, Gerald ran a YouTube channel, RedPix.
