Spoof version of ‘Arabic Kutthu’ punches hard on DMK and its ‘Dravidian Model’ of social justice

Social media has been abuzz with the tune of ‘Arabic Kutthu’, a song from actor Vijay’s next film ‘Beast’ written and directed by Nelson.

The song which was released recently has been penned by actor Sivakarthikeyan with Anirudh and Jonita Gandhi on the vocals.

The peppy song featuring Vijay and Pooja Hegde has got many on social media grooving.

Now, a spoof version of the song has been released by a satirical handle on Twitter named ‘Indha Vainko’ taking on the DK and DMK, and its so-called ‘Dravidian Model’ of social justice politics.

The spoof version has been titled ‘Samooga Needhi Kutthu’ (Social Justice Punch). The creativity of those behind this spoof version oozes out with the modified lyrics perfectly in sync with the alliterations of the original lyrics.

Here are a few lines from the spoof version that hits the nail on the head:

“Holy holy only one family is holy, Slowly slowly they will rule you wholly”, is an indirect reference to the dynastic politics of the DMK.

“Halamathi habibo, samooga needhi pathadhe (this social justice isn’t enough).. Halamathi habibo, avan sambadhichadhu pathadhe (his filling of coffers isn’t enough).. Halamathi habibo, paarpaan a thitinadhu pathadhe (he abusing Brahmins isn’t enough).. Halamathi habibo, Halamathi habibo” calls out the loot and Brahmin-hatred politics peddled by the DMK and its allies.

Another line talks about the DMK’s double standards on its anti-Hindi stance as many of the party’s senior leaders including Chief Minister MK Stalin’s family run elite private schools where they teach Hindi while the same opportunity has been denied to poor government school students in the name of opposing ‘Hindi imposition’.
