Rajini, Alagiri busy with getting party registered

Superstar Rajinikanth, who has decided enter the electoral battle, is said to be busy in preparing the memorandum and Constitution of his party as part of the process of getting the party registered with the Election Commission in Delhi.

It has been reported that some of the Supreme Court lawyers are helping the Superstar in the process and a list of ‘what is required to register the party’ has been sent to Rajini.

With regards to the electoral symbol of Rajinikanth’s party, it is only after the announcement of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections will the newly registered parties be able to select the symbol.

A reserved symbol is one that is allocated to a recognized political party while a free symbol is available to be allocated to non-recognized parties and independent candidates. Closer to the elections, many parties would stake claim to some of the prominent symbols that can be reached to the people easily. So, it is expected that Rajini will choose his symbol now while registering his party. According to senior journalist Rajagopalan, Rajini may go with the symbol of ‘auto’ (Rajini played the role of an auto rickshaw driver in the movie Baasha) or ‘rose’ both of which are free symbols.

Meanwhile, former Union Minister Alagiri is also in the process of registering his party and is getting the help of Supreme Court lawyers. It is expected that he might go with the name Kalaignar Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (KDMK).
