Cuddalore Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) South District Secretary Raji, also known as Rasappa, has come under criticism after a video allegedly showing him crossing a toll plaza without paying the toll surfaced on social media, as reported in Tamil Samayam.
In the video, Raji is seen travelling by car at the Kothattai area and appearing to show his TVK visiting card at the toll plaza before proceeding without making the payment.
Raji reportedly shared the video on his social media account with the caption, “Power of My Akka”.

The video has since circulated widely on social media, drawing criticism from users who questioned whether a political party identity card could be used to avoid paying toll charges.
Questions Over TVK Functionary’s Conduct
The incident has also triggered questions over the conduct of TVK functionaries, particularly in light of the party leadership’s stated position on governance and accountability.
When the TVK government assumed office, its leadership had stressed that it would provide an administration free from corruption and bribery. On the day of his swearing-in, Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay had also said there would be no room for “power centres” within the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam and that the party would function in a manner that would make people afraid to commit wrongdoing.
Against this backdrop, the video allegedly showing a party functionary using his TVK identity to pass through a toll plaza without paying has triggered debate over whether such conduct is consistent with the leadership’s stated principles.
TVK functionaries have also faced criticism on previous occasions over allegations of intervening in the functioning of schools and involving themselves in matters concerning government officials.
