Tamil YouTube comedy duo Gopi and Sudhakar, who run the popular Parithabangal channel, have removed a harmless troll scene from their latest video “Aadi Maasa Paavangal” following criticism on social media.
The duo, known for creating satirical videos based on current events and attracting millions of views, have also gained recognition in the Tamil film industry, with both actors appearing in several films.
The controversy arose over a particular scene in the “Aadi Maasa Paavangal” video, which many social media users alleged mocked Sanjay, the son of Vilathikulam MLA Markandeyan. The scene was reportedly based on Sanjay’s emotional interaction with the media following his father’s arrest, with critics accusing the creators of making light of a minor’s distress.

Reacting to the video, former Tamil Nadu Minister T.R.B. Rajaa expressed his disappointment in a post on social media.
“Disgusted to see @Parithabangal_ take on a kid who is trying to express his anguish after an unlawful act against his father. I have been a big fan of this group of talented artistes but just plain disgusted to see them take on a young kid in his time of pain. Sad fall…hope they correct this.” he wrote.

Following the backlash, Parithabangal released a statement confirming that the controversial portion had been removed from the video.
The statement said that the team had learned that a specific scene in “Aadi Maasa Paavangal” had hurt the sentiments of some viewers on social media. It clarified that the scene was never intended to target or personally attack anyone.
“However, since it has caused hurt to some people, we have removed the concerned scenes from the video. The intention of Parithabangal has never been to hurt anyone’s feelings,” the statement said.

The same DMK IT Wing was silent and rejoicing the YouTube channel’s videos when they mocked and derogated Hindi speakers, Hindus, Hindu customs, especially during the Tirupati laddoo adulteration issue.
This was a harmless troll video and since it involved a DMK member, the Dravidianists led by TRB Rajaa ensured the YouTubers removed the portion from their channel.
