A network of Pakistan-based Facebook pages allegedly promoted actor-turned-politician C. Joseph Vijay and his Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) as part of a paid social-media campaign, with chat records purportedly showing negotiations for promotional posts extending up to the 2029 elections.
It also appears to show coordinated promotion of narratives linking Vijay with former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, including claims that Vijay considers Khan his political role model. However, there is no known public statement from Vijay supporting the claim.
The findings add another layer to the allegations that the social media ecosystem is being used to build Vijay’s political image; we had earlier reported about Facebook pages with apparent Pakistani administrator links being renamed and repurposed to promote Vijay and TVK.
If you search for “Vijay Thalapathy” on Facebook and check the page locations, 99% of the pages are from Pakistan.
Buying Facebook pages from all over the world then renames it and start posting Vijay related updates

Pakistan-Based Pages Allegedly Did Paid Promotions
A netizens shared screenshots of a conversation via Direct Message (DM) with a page identified as “Explore Pakistan” involved negotiations to publish promotional content about “Vijay Thalapathy Tamilnadu CM.”
The page representative reportedly told the prospective buyer that another group had previously paid $100 per promotional post. A monthly package of $1,000 for 10 posts was subsequently discussed.
The negotiations allegedly continued over a longer-term campaign. The buyer sought promotion until the 2029 elections, following which the monthly rate was reportedly reduced to $800 for 10 posts.

The conversation also seems to reveal that the page was part of a wider network. The representative identified pages including “Verified Pakistan Today”, “Scroll Pakistan” and “Explore Pakistan” as interconnected platforms that could be used to run parallel promotions.
The conversation raises questions over whether Vijay-related political messaging was being commercially distributed through Pakistan-based social-media pages via Route Media and Voice of Commons.
Pages Previously Used For Pakistani Political And Religious Content
This comes days after an investigation into Facebook pages promoting Vijay and TVK found apparent links to administrators located in Pakistan.
The investigation identified pages that underwent multiple identity changes before being converted into Vijay-focused pages.
One cited example reportedly changed its name from “Tahiru Quadri Fan’s 2.0” to “Fan Of Owaisi”, followed by “Ayatullah Khamenie Fans”, before eventually becoming “Vijay Thalapathy TVK.”

The apparent history raises questions about whether established Facebook pages with existing followers and engagement are being acquired, renamed and repurposed for political promotion.
Facebook’s Page Transparency information for several Vijay-related pages reportedly lists administrators or managers based in Pakistan. Some profiles carry Pakistani telephone numbers beginning with the +92 country code, while other information associated with the accounts reportedly points to educational institutions in Pakistan, including Superior College in Toba Tek Singh.

Despite these apparent administrator locations, the pages present themselves to users as Tamil Nadu political pages, Vijay fan pages or accounts focused on Vijay-related artwork and public-help content.
Two Pages Allegedly Restricted To Pakistan
Further material examined in the latest development allegedly indicates that at least two of the pages do not appear normally to users accessing Facebook from India.
According to the claims accompanying the material, the pages are IP-restricted Pakistani pages that can reportedly be accessed from India only through a VPN.
The person who examined the pages claims that, after accessing Facebook through a VPN, numerous posts from Pakistan-based pages promoting Vijay began appearing.
Here is the another proof of route gang paid Pakistani pages to promote him.
You know what? Two of their pages won’t even show up in India. They’re IP-restricted Pakistani pages that can only be seen via a VPN.

Such a pattern could indicate that the Pakistan-based pages are not merely incidental accounts but form part of a broader network being used to distribute Vijay-related content.
‘Imran Khan Of India’ Narrative Allegedly Seeded Through Paid Posts
The material also points to a recurring attempt to associate Vijay with Imran Khan.
A post published by “News Cuff Eng” on May 12 reportedly claimed that Vijay had become the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and that netizens were calling him “The Imran Khan of India.”

“Scroll Pakistan” reportedly published a post on May 8 claiming that Vijay had identified Imran Khan as his political role model.

Another page, “Hype Pakistan”, reportedly carried a similar claim on May 12, stating that Vijay had called Imran Khan his role model.

The repeated nature of the claim across multiple pages is significant because it creates the appearance of an independently emerging narrative, even though the underlying claim about Vijay regarding Imran Khan has not been substantiated.
The alleged promotional conversation provides a possible explanation for how such a narrative could have been circulated across multiple pages.
The material seems to indicate that the “Imran Khan of India” comparison was not simply an organic social-media trend but part of a paid promotional effort.
False Claim About Vijay Banning Alcohol Also Circulated
Another graphic attributed to “Explore Pakistan” claimed that Vijay, after becoming Chief Minister, had imposed a ban on alcohol and shut down more than 700 liquor shops.

That claim is also inconsistent with the known policy position.
While TVK’s manifesto has advocated a phased reduction of liquor outlets and eventual prohibition, the claim that Vijay had already imposed a complete alcohol ban and closed more than 700 liquor shops is false.
The circulation of such a claim through a Pakistan-based page adds to concerns over the use of exaggerated or fabricated achievements to build Vijay’s political image.
Fits Into A Wider Social-Media Image-Building Campaign
The latest material comes against the backdrop of a broader social-media campaign around Vijay that has previously come under scrutiny.
Earlier investigations identified a network of social-media content portraying Vijay as a potential national political leader and promoting a “Vijay for PM” narrative.
The campaign has involved multilingual posts, exaggerated claims about Vijay’s political influence, AI-generated material and content portraying government schemes, laws and development initiatives as achievements personally attributable to Vijay.
Another investigation examined street-style “vox pop” videos from cities including Varanasi and Mumbai. In these videos, members of the public are repeatedly shown choosing Vijay when asked whom they would prefer as the next Prime Minister.
Several influencers involved in such content reportedly advertise paid collaborations and promotional services. The videos are subsequently circulated online as evidence of Vijay’s supposed growing popularity beyond Tamil Nadu.
The alleged Pakistan-based campaign now raises a different question: are foreign-based Facebook pages with existing audiences being used as another distribution channel to manufacture political visibility for Vijay?
