No-Fly Zone Violation? CM Joseph Vijay's Drone Shoot During Kathipara Metro Work Inspection Conducted In Chennai Airport Red Zone

The incident has drawn attention because the Kathipara area lies in close proximity to Chennai International Airport, where drone operations are subject to strict airspace restrictions. According to the airspace map circulated on social media, the area falls within a designated “Red Zone,” where drone flights are generally prohibited unless specific permissions have been obtained from the relevant authorities.

It is not clear whether the drone operation complied with existing aviation and security regulations, and it is noteworthy that flying drones in airport-sensitive zones without the required clearances could pose safety and security concerns.

However, it remains unclear whether permission was obtained for the drone operation.
