Kashmir Class 12 topper gets attacked online for not wearing hijab

Aroosa Parvaiz, who has topped the Class 12 exams in Jammu & Kashmir has become a victim of online abuse by Islamists for not wearing a ‘hijab’.

Aroosa started facing online attacks on February 8, when the Jammu & Kashmir State Board of School Education (JKBOSE) announced its annual results for Class 12.

Immediately after the results were declared and the journalists had published the topper’s photos and videos of her achievement, Islamists unleashed the attack on her for not wearing hijab.

Over the past few weeks, a controversy has erupted in Karnataka over the wearing of hijab by certain Muslim students.
