Hindu Munnani asks NIA to investigate TN woman’s suicide alleged to be a case of love jihad

In a notice, Hindu Munnani leader, Kateshwara Subramaniam has asked the National Intelligence Agency to inquire into the increasing cases of Love Jihad in India. Taking a recent suicide in Tamil Nadu, he had written about the victim Sowmya who committed suicide because of being cheated by a man who promised to marry her.

Sowmya is from the Devendra Kulla Vellalar community from the Omsakthi Nagar in Ramanathapuram. Sheik Mohammad, a Muslim from the same area had promised to marry her, but has cheated on her. Sowmya committed suicide because of this but not before writing down all those who were the reason for her suicide. She also mentioned that Sheik Mohammed used her for his sexual needs and cheated her when she asked him to marry her and that this was planned Love-Jihad by him.

The Police have now arrested Sheik Mohammad who is allegedly the reason behind Sowmya’s suicide. The Hindu Munnani leader requested that all those mentioned in the victim’s letter should be arrested. He also requested that an enquiry should be done into Love-Jihad in the area and the organisations behind this as the victim had mentioned about it in her letter.

The leader also mentioned that the investigation should be taken up by the National Investigation Agency because it may involve terrorist organisations from around the country considering that it is a case of Love-Jihad. He then reiterated that the victim’s family should be given a compensation for the life that they have lost.
