PR Sundar, an Indian-born DMK-supporting Dravidianist, Singapore citizen and self-styled stock market analyst, has been arrested by the Chennai Police following a sexual harassment complaint filed by a woman news anchor, as reported in The New Indian Express.
He was arrested by a special team of the Ice House police in Bengaluru on Wednesday, 5 August 2026, in connection with a sexual harassment case filed on the complaint of a woman news anchor employed with a private television channel. Following his arrest, he was brought to Chennai for interrogation and further legal proceedings.
According to the complainant, Sundar allegedly sexually harassed her, wrongfully confined her inside his office for nearly three hours, and threatened her with serious consequences.
Based on the complaint, the Ice House police registered a case against Sundar under five provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including offences related to sexual harassment, wrongful confinement, and criminal intimidation.
Police are continuing their investigation, and further action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
