“DMK Leaders Demanding 12% Commission On Govt Contracts”: DMK Worker Laments Infront Of DMK Minister

The video of a long-time DMK member accusing fellow DMK members in the government of demanding bribes for contract awards, in front of DMK Water Resource minister Duraimurugan, has gone viral on social media.

The Vellore Central District DMK General Members Meeting was held at Latheri, near Katpadi, in the presence of Water Resources Minister Durai Murugan.

Rajendran, former panchayat council president of KV Kuppam Union, PK Puram, said at the meeting: “I joined the DMK from the ADMK 40 years ago. In our town, the ADMK has more support than DMK.”

He went on, “I worked hard to build the party in my constituency. They (DMK leaders) say we should win 40 out of 40 Lok Sabha seats in the upcoming elections. But the leaders who say this are travelling in luxury cars, while we who work for them have no money for even petrol for our vehicles. But after winning, it’s difficult to see them; even if we go to Chennai, it’s difficult to see them.”

He further said,” Four days ago, I asked a senior DMK leader from Katbadi Western Union for a tender worth ₹8 lakhs. But he was asking 12% commission for ₹1 lakh.”

He furiously asked,” We work hard like dogs for your victory, but what we are going to get in return?”

On hearing this, other DMK members whistled and clapped, cheering the person who complained about other DMK leaders.

This video was shared widely by the opposition parties accusing DMK government of “corruption, commission and collection.”
