DMK chief MK Stalin took a dig at Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) Dharapuram bypoll candidate Sathyabama during a campaign speech, referring to her as “Petti Bama” (Suitcase Bama) and “Palti Bama” (somersault Bama).
The remarks came amid allegations from the DMK that Sathyabama switched from the AIADMK to TVK after allegedly being offered money. Stalin made the comments while addressing a campaign meeting in Dharapuram, where he referred to the names by which Sathyabama was allegedly being called.
“You, the people yourselves. What do you call it now? ‘Petti Bama’. There’s another one too, ‘Palti Bama’ (Somersault Bama). I don’t know how they managed to do a somersault with that kind of shape/appearance,” Stalin said.

Sathyabama, who is contesting the Dharapuram bypoll as the TVK candidate, had previously been associated with the AIADMK. The MK has alleged that her move to TVK was linked to financial inducements, while the allegation remains a claim made by the party.
