According to reports, police personnel went to the place of worship to inquire into the incident. During the questioning, one youth reportedly objected to the participants raising slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” asking why they should be expected to remain silent while such slogans were being raised.
At that point, another youth allegedly rushed towards the spot and, in the presence of the police, shouted a threat saying, “A bomb will explode in Srivilliputhur, write it down.”
The alleged threat reportedly shocked the police personnel present at the spot. The two youths were subsequently taken away by the police for questioning.
The incident has since attracted attention after a video purportedly showing the confrontation surfaced on social media. The reported bomb threat, allegedly made in the presence of police personnel during a religious procession, has also raised questions over the subsequent police action.
Further details regarding whether a case has been registered against the two youths and the outcome of the police inquiry are awaited.
