VCK District Secretary Threatens To Severe Hands Of Female Tahsildar In Front Of Police For Ordering Removal Of Illegally Erected Flagpole

A video of the VCK district secretary publicly threatening a female deputy Tahsildar in front of police in the Kallakurichi district has gone viral on social media.

VCK goons placed a flagpole without permission in Vaasadevanur, near Chinnasalem in the Kallakurichi district. Upon learning of this, Deputy Tahsildar Indira arrived at the location with other authorities and ordered that it be removed.

Enraged by Deputy Tahsildar’s order, Dhanapal, the district secretary of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, yelled at Indhra, “Why should I give you respect? You should get out of here. I don’t want to speak with you. You better leave this place. Who called you here? Who are you to tell me I have to leave? Oth**a.. If you get too close to our flagpole, I’ll sever your hands and legs. We have a limit to our patience. Are you having fun with me? Pun**ai (cuss word denoting female genitalia).”

All of this occurred in front of police officers who never bothered to arrest the VCK thugs for preventing a government servant from doing her job. The police stood by and watched.

This video of the VCK party’s district secretary publicly threatening a female Tahsildar on duty while police stood nearby went viral on social media. Meanwhile, Tahsildar Indira filed a complaint with the Chinnasalem police. Based on this complaint, the police have filed a case under five sections against VCK district secretary Dhanapal and are conducting an investigation. The police also removed the VCK flagpole, which was erected without permission.

Tamil Nadu BJP president Annamalai condemned the incident saying, “How did these individuals (VCK goons) muster the courage to publicly threaten the female district officer in front of the police officers who had ordered the removal of the illegally erected flagpole? Government officials continue to be murdered and intimidated under the inept DMK regime. Is this a government for the people or an anti-social government? I urge the DMK government to arrest those who threatened the female officer immediately and to take strict action to ensure the safety of government officials.”

Tamil Nadu Hooch Tragedy Exposes The Incompetence Of Stalin Govt

The Stalin-led DMK government has announced a compensation of ₹10 Lakhs to each of the families of the deceased in the twin spurious liquor tragedies in the Villupuram and Chengalpattu districts. This has spurred a major political row in the state, and opposition leaders, including the BJP leader, Annamalai, and AIADMK leader, Edapadi Palanisamy, have demanded the resignation of the Chief Minister. 

Annamalai, in a shocking revelation, showed that a person named Ammavasai, who has been arrested in Chengalpat as the main culprit of the illegal brewing case, is the brother of a Deputy Secretary of the DMK party. What is worse is the fact that the DMK party has awarded a compensation of ₹50,000 to the culprit. 

The way the police handled the controversy and the tragedy is raising several questions. When Markkanam people complained of vomiting and nausea, the police arrested Amaran, who was then released by the Sub-Inspectors after receiving ₹15,000 as a bribe following the intervention from Vizhupuram DMK Town Secretary Ravikumar.  

Now Amaran is arrested again after the tragedy, and based on his confession, Muthu was apprehended by police while he was making his way to surrender to the court. Muthu confessed and admitted that he had bribed the Excise Inspector, SI, L&O Inspector, driver, Marakkanam Inspector, SI, Head Constable, and many more inside the police department to ensure a smooth production and sale of hooch. The accused also added that Muthu received supplies from ‘Maroor’ Raja, the husband of DMK Ward councilor Ramya and has a close association with the DMK Minister Masthan. Due to this, the police would never inspect Maroor Raja’s vehicle, and even if they did so, Rizwan, the son-in-law of Masthan, would interfere and ensure that the supplies were transported seamlessly. 

Even when ‘Maroor’ Raja was arrested last April, DMK minister Masthan ensured that the police did not use the Goondas Act and let him operate the liquor network from inside the jail. 

Further, political commentator Savukku Sankar’s blog has revealed how the TASMAC minister Senthil Balaji exerts control over all the licensed and unlicensed bars across the state. He has also called out the popular ‘Karur Gang’ for collecting ₹2 extra per bottle from the customers by force. Those employees who fail to cooperate with the gang are transferred or suspended. 

Savukku Shankar also exposed the controversy behind the suspension of the Villupuram SP Shreenatha IPS. The Prohibition Enforcement Wing has three officers, namely SP Kannan, SP Senthil Kumar, and SP Jayanthi. The officers Jayanthi and Senthil Kumar are responsible for preventing the illicit distillation and distribution of liquor. Savukku Shankar has claimed that Kannan is a corrupt officer, and the incident happened under his jurisdiction. So, if someone has to be held accountable and suspended for the latest  hooch tragedy, it is one or all of these three officers. But, the Stalin government has chosen the Vizhupuram SP for suspension, and this has raised so many questions. 

Beyond that, the government reports suggested that the police raided the illicit distillers and distributors in Vizhupuram, Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, and Mayiladuthurai and arrested them. How is it possible to figure out all the illicit distributors in a single day? This is proof enough that the ministers and the police officials have all information about the hooch network, and they weren’t taking any steps to stop this and save the lives of the innocent. 

A deeper look shows the pathetic picture of governance and law and order in the state. Those widowed due to the excessive, continuous consumption of the Tasmac-branded, legally recognized alcohol in the state only receive a compensation of ₹2000 a month. This is after they have experienced abuse and violence on a day-to-day basis from their alcohol-addicted husbands. 

Leave the widows, Several gang men and power staff die have died in the last few months due to electrocution in the state, and none of them received ₹10 Lakhs.

The Minister responsible for both these departments – liquor and electricity – is V. Senthilbalaji. That the DMK government gives 10 lakhs to boozers who died of spurious alcohol while ignoring the plight of field staff tells a lot about the infamous ‘Dravidian Model’.

There are a few children in Tamil Nadu suffering from rare diseases and genetic disorder like Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Every day we come across several fundraising campaigns on social media platforms. Though there are around 250+ disorders, the government has no special scheme to cater to such parents and children. There are many more avenues for the government to support the truly victimized and contribute to their upliftment. But the DMK government awards a whopping ₹10 lakh for deceased alcohol addicts and ₹50,000 for those taking treatment!

There have been several incidents of people dying when they clean sewers and septic tanks. Many have died from explosions and fires at cracker factories and companies in Sivakasi. 

Contrast all these against the ₹10 lakh exgratia offered for the death of spurious liquor tragedy. It will only mean that the DMK government is encouraging the consumption of illegally brewed alcohol.

Also, is the government endeavoring to protect the accused by offering huge compensation and suppressing the voice of the victims and their families? 

A responsible government should ensure that there is awareness among people about the danger involved in consuming hooch. People should also be educated about the difference between ethanol and methanol and how to identify them. 

A majority of those arrested in the case are either holding positions in the DMK party or have close allies with the ministers and party members. Those in the top brass with close associations with the family-run distilleries and wholesale supply chains like Golden Vats, Accord, SNJ, KALS group, etc., hold the licenses to sell through the TASMAC bars and are spoiling innocent lives. On the one hand, those down the hierarchy holding panchayat-level positions are involved in running unlicensed bars and distributing illicit liquor, on the other. By all means, this government and the DMK families are earning a major chunk from the liquor business and are single-handedly responsible for disrupting the peace of several families in the state. 

Until now, the proponents of Dravidian Model peddle the myth that state-control over liquor sales through TASMAC is necessary to curtail illicit liquor.

This hooch tragedy has not just busted this myth but has also exposed the pathetic Dravidian Model of governance.

The Congress party has clinched a major victory against its rival BJP after a long hiatus and in its return to power,

Immediately after the Congress’ win, the Sunni Ulema Board demanded that the post of Deputy Chief Minister and the portfolios of Home Affairs, Revenue, Health, and Education be given to Muslim MLAs.

Karnataka State Waqf Board chief Shafi Saadi claimed 72 constituencies went into Congress’s hands only because of the Muslims.

In a purely communal fashion he stated that, “In about 72 constituencies, Congress won purely because of the Muslims. We, as a community, have given a lot to the Congress. Now it is time we get something in return. We want a Muslim deputy chief minister and five ministers with good portfolios like Home, Revenue, and Education. It is the responsibility of Congress to thank us for this.”

The sheer arrogance in which Islamists have claimed flesh from the freshly elected Congress government is something which is unheard of.

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said the prominent Muslim group is demanding their pound of flesh and spoils in Karnataka.

“Secularism of the Congress kinds comes with a price,” BJP’s Amit Malviya taunted sharing the video of the Waqf Board chief.

The Congress said Shafi Saadi is backed by the BJP and BJP making it an issue to attack the Congress which wrested the southern state from the BJP in a thumping victory is “a bit too much”. In a jibe to Amit Malviya, Congress’s Pawan Khera said, “I understand your need to fake. But this is a bit too much. Shafi Saadi is backed by BJP.”

 

Along with Congress, self-proclaimed fact-checkers of Alt News ecosystem have also jumped in to the bandwagon to peddle the narrative that Shafi Saadi is a BJP man.

Mohammed Zubair of Alt News has been parroting the narrative that Shafi Saadi is a BJP member and a man supported by the BJP.

He shared an old tweet of former Karnataka Minister Shashikala Jolle to substantiate his claims.

Responding to another Twiterrati ‘Bala’ (@erbmjha), he once again claimed that Shafi Saadi was a ‘BJP candidate’ who was elected as New President of Karnataka State Waqf Board.

When another prominent Twitterati Anshul Saxena said that Maulana Shafi Saadi supported Congress, Zubair claimed that there was no proof of it.

 

However, the truth of the matter is that Maulana Shafi Saadi, overtly and brazenly supported Congress in Karnataka. He himself admits that he appealed to Muslims to vote for Congress.

This fact was cleverly hidden by self-styled ‘fact-checker’ who claimed that there was no proof of Shafi Saadi supporting Congress.

TN BJP Prez Annamalai Demands Dismissal Of DMK Min Masthan And Senthil Balaji For Hooch Deaths

Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai lashed out at the DMK for the increase in illegal liquor sales in the state and demanded the dismissal of DMK minister Masthan, who has close ties to the main culprit in the illicit liquor network. He also demanded that DMK Liquor Minister Senthil Balaji should be sacked.

As of Monday evening, the death toll from the consumption of illicit liquor in Tamil Nadu had risen to 19. The alleged incident occurred in Ekkiyarkuppam, a small fishing hamlet in the Villupuram district. A significant number of fatalities were also reported in Sithamur, Chengalpattu district.

Amaran, who is thought to be the main suspect in the case, was apprehended by police yesterday. Based on his confession, the police were looking for Muthu, a bootlegger who was absconding. However, today he was arrested near Tindivanam based on his mobile location. According to reports, he was apprehended by police while on his way to surrender before the court.

Muthu admitted to the police that he bribed Excise Inspector, SI, L&O Inspector, his driver, Marakkanam Inspector, SI, Head Constable, and a few others in the police department, and that he gave the police more than half of his profits.

He also stated that he receives supplies from Raja alias Maroor Raja, the husband of DMK 20th ward councilor Ramya, who is known for his association with DMK minister Masthan. He went on to say that police on patrol would not stop Maroor Raja’s vehicle, which was carrying illegal liquor.

It is also said that DMK Minister Masthan persuaded the police not to charge Maroor Raja with Goondas Act when he was arrested a few months ago.

In a press statement given today, the president of the Tamil Nadu BJP demanded the dismissal of DMK Ministers Senji Masthan and Senthil Balaji.

Annamalai stated that such a large-scale network could not have operated without the knowledge of DMK Liquor minister Sebthil Balaji, citing a statement by the Director General of Police (DGP) C Sylendra Babu, who said that more than 1500 people had been arrested and over 1800 cases had been registered for bootlegging.

Furthermore, he stated that one of the network’s alleged kingpins, Marur Raja, is close to Masthan and uses his relationship with him to carry out his business of supplying illicit liquor. He also questioned the DMK government on the reason for not imposing the Goondas Act on Maroor Raja despite the fact that he was facing numerous criminal charges, including the sale of illicit liquor.

Annamalai also took a dig at Minister Senthil Balaji for not failing to visit the crime scene as he was preoccupied with the corruption charges he is facing. He further said that the Minister Senthil Balaji has lost his moral right to continue in office.

Dravidian Model: DMK Govt Gives ₹50000 Solatium To Hooch Tragedy Culprit Who Sold Spurious Liquor

A shocking revelation has come to light wherein the MK Stalin-led DMK government has awarded ₹50,000 solatium to the culprit responsible for the hooch tragedy in Tamil Nadu which has resulted in 19 deaths.

The death toll from the consumption of illicit liquor in Tamil Nadu has risen to 19. The alleged incident occurred in Ekkiyarkuppam, a small fishing hamlet in the Villupuram district. A significant number of fatalities were also reported in Sithamur, Chengalpattu district.

Amavasai, son Deviyappan is an accused in this hooch deaths tragedy. He is said to be the brother of Sithamur DMK ward councillor Nagappan. Amavasai has been named in the FIR registered by the Tamil Nadu police.

Fearing arrest he pretended to have consumed the poisonous liquor and got himself admitted. However the DMK government has announced ₹50,000 compensation to Amavasai as well.

Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai slammed the DMK government as “incompetent” for the mockery.

Leader of Opposition Edappadi K. Palaniswami said “In this entire world, the clownish government that gives relief to the criminal is the DMK government. It is not a government that is running under the present Chief Minister MK Stalin. It is a circus!”

Minnambalam has quoted a police source as saying that when an illicit liquor consignment of Maroor Raja was stopped last year, Rizwan, son-in-law of DMK Minister Masthaan interfered and ensured that the consignment was released without any case.

DMK Minister Masthan Prevented Charging Marroor Raja With Goondas

On 18th April, Maroor Raja was arrested from his home by a special team. Illicit liquor, bottles, and other machines were seized from his house. Later, he was remanded in judicial custody and lodged in the Tindivanam sub-jail. However, he controlled the illicit liquor network even while he was inside the jail. 

Though it is a usual procedure to slap Goondas Act on those criminals arrested for selling spurious liquor, police did not charge Maroor Raja with Goondas due to pressure from Minister Masthan.

When the fact is that a DMK acquaintance was involved in the illicit liquor network in Tamil Nadu, DMK Student Wing president Rajiv Gandhi, who is fondly called ‘Paint Dappa’ by his Naam Tamilar friends, has attempted to divert attention from his party’s failure to control illegal liquor sales by claiming that the illegal liquor sale was carried out by an ADMK member.

He said that the owner of a shop from where illicit liquor was sold belongs to AIADMK and hence AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami should be held responsible.

 

It is worth noting that the Tindivanam AIADMK MLA warned the police about illegal liquor and ganja sales a few months ago. He did, in fact, send the police a WhatsApp message about it.

He noted that in Karippalayam area which comes under his constituency four members namely Logu and his sons Gnanavel, Murali, and Selvam were involved in selling illicit liquor and ganja near schools. He also mentioned that public have already complained about the menace.

However, no action was taken because the perpetrators were close to DMK leaders. This video of an AIADMK MLA addressing the police’s inaction despite his complaint has been shared by AIADMK members in response to DMK Rajiv Gandhi’s tweet.

Many have questioned whether the ₹10 lakh solatium given by the DMK government was an attempt to silence the families of the deceased to not reveal information.

TN Hooch Tragedy: EPS Questions Silence Of Actors And Activists Who Were Vocal During AIADMK Regime

As of Monday (15 May 2023) evening, the death toll from the consumption of illicit liquor in Tamil Nadu had risen to 17. The alleged incident occurred in Ekkiyarkuppam, a small fishing hamlet in the Vizhuppuram district. A significant number of fatalities were also reported in Sithamur, Chengalpattu district.

Following this incident, Tamil Nadu DGP Sylendra Babu directed all district SPs, city police commissioners, and Prohibition Division officers to step up anti-liquor operations. Consequently, police in Tamil Nadu are actively investigating and making arrests in this regard.

So far, 410 people have been arrested in 10 districts, including Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Thiruvallur, Villupuram, Nagai, Mayiladuthurai, and Cuddalore, in connection with the sale of illegal liquor. 150 people have been remanded in custody. Around 260 criminals are out on bail and ten people have gone missing. According to the DGP office, 8,748 liters of spurious liquor and 4,720 bottles of spirits have been confiscated thus far, and action is being taken against spurious liquor in various districts.

Leader of Opposition Edappadi K. Palaniswami personally met and inquired about the well-being of the people who are being treated at the Mundyambakkam government hospital for consumption of spurious liquor.

Addressing the press after his meeting, he stated “The government has failed to control the sale of bootleg liquor. The DMK government is notorious for allowing the sale of alcohol in sports stadiums and shopping malls. They said that milk and honey would flood the streets if DMK comes to power. But the reality is that only spurious liquor is flowing. Drugs like ganja are easily available in Tamil Nadu. No social activist or actor has spoken out against the deaths caused by illegal liquor. During the AIADMK rule, many people sang songs against alcoholism. But I’m wondering where they all went now. Common people were killed after consuming illicit alcohol sold by members of the ruling party and people with political backgrounds. Those responsible for these crimes should be punished without regard for political affiliation.

It should be noted that actors such as Surya, Karthi, Siddharth, and Kamal Haasan, who were making political statements during the AIADMK regime, have gone silent, and it is these people who Edappadi Palaniswami refers to in his speech. TASMAC Kovan, May 17 Thirumurugan Gandhi, Poovulagin Nanbar G Sundarrajan and other activists who had been protesting for everything during the AIADMK regime went into hibernation mode as well.

TN BJP State Sec Slams DMK Govt Over Hooch Tragedy

Around 13 people have died after consuming spurious liquor in two separate districts of Tamil Nadu.

In Maduranthagam in Chengalpattu district, four people died- two died on Friday and a couple died on Sunday, allegedly due to illicit liquor consumption. Inspector General of Police (North) N Kannan on Sunday said that the victims possibly consumed liquor that reportedly contained a mixture of ethanol-methanol and other chemical substances.

He said that the two separate incidents of spurious liquor deaths were reported in the north zone of Tamil Nadu but there was no evidence found of a link between the two incidents, but the police are investigating. “Two spurious liquor incidents have been reported, one in Chengalpattu district and another one in Villupuram district. In Ekkiyarkuppam village under Villupuram district near Marakkanam, yesterday (May 13) six persons were hospitalised with complaints of eye irritation, vomiting and giddiness,” the police official said.

While referring to such deaths due to illegal liquor, the Tamil Nadu BJP State Secretary SG Suryah issued a statement in which he lashed out at Chief Minister MK Stalin-led DMK government.

The statement read, ”Salutations to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Mr. M.K. Stalin, who spends many hours at the cricket ground eagerly to watch the IPL matches without even knowing the circulation of illicit liquor in the state. Is there governance in Tamil Nadu? The Tamil Nadu government has opened TASMAC liquor shops street-to-street without taking any cognizance about presence of temple or school and is setting target to earn revenue through them. It is funny that this government is not aware of illicit liquor circulation in the state.”

He condemned the DMK government for giving ₹10 lakh compensation from the treasury to the families of those who died.

“Is this a good government? When you were in the opposition, you said TASMAC should not run, all your party men shouted that there are many widows in Tamil Nadu because of TASMAC, the social activists who are your stooges shouted, shut TASMAC!”, he said.

”On the one hand, the Tamil Nadu government sells liquor with its labels and on the other hand, illicit liquor is circulated without affixing the label. Is this the Dravidian model of governance? During the last 10 years of AIADMK rule, these incidents did not happen in Tamil Nadu at all. If it is happening now, does it not mean that the law-and-order situation in Tamil Nadu is so bad? Chief Minister, we humbly request you on behalf of the people of Tamil Nadu, you came to the chief minister’s post because of your desire as you were born in a political family. If the desire is exhausted, resign. Let Tamil Nadu survive. Think about it, Chief Minister!”, SG Suryah said.

Tiruchendur Temple Authorities Allegedly Refuse Entry To Padayatra Devotees, Hindu Munnani Condemns

Tiruchendur temple authorities refused to allow the padayatra devotees with paalkudam (milk pots) to enter the temple, State Vice President of Hindu Munnani Shri. V.P. Jayakumar has alleged in a statement condemning the authorities.

The statement reads,”Tiruchendur Subramanya Swamy Temple, one of the six houses dedicated to Lord Murugan, has an age-old tradition of devotees taking a milk pot and going on a padayatra. Around 300 devotees of Lord Muruga from Devakottai in Sivagangai district had walked for 250 kilometres for nine days to bring milk pots to Lord Muruga at Tiruchendur. Yesterday, when they came to the temple to have darshan, they were stopped by the temple administration and refused to allow them. This has caused pain to the devotees. The devotees would have come with great difficulty and desire to have darshan of Lord Muruga with so much physical and mental pain. It is not acceptable to any conscious human being to stop it brutally without the slightest regard for it.”

He also added, ”The Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department is meant to facilitate the worship of the devotees and it is condemnable to stop the devotees from going on a padayatra with devotion for several miles. Economic untouchability is that one can enter the temple only if money is paid. It is a atrocious that the government is implementing this. The devotees, who were walking for 250 km on foot, dumped the milk pot in the outer corridor of the temple premises and have cursed the HR&CE department. God is watching all these atrocities committed by the Tamil Nadu government in temples. Believers know that the officials of the Charitable Endowments Department will surely have to suffer its sins.”

He also questioned the authorities, ‘Why didn’t the Board of Trustees take action in this regard? Tamil YouTube Channel Posts Video Inciting Hate Against Brahmins

Chill Pannu Maapi, a YouTube channel, has portrayed Brahmins in poor light and encouraged violence against them through one of their videos.

A ‘shorts’ video released a few days ago showed a woman working for a food delivery company and her boyfriend delivering an order to a Brahmin house.

The house owner, who appears to be a Brahmin based on his slang, berates the woman for failing to properly read the delivery instructions, while her boyfriend stands by silently watching the scene.

Despite the fact that it was stated in the delivery instructions that the calling bell should not be pressed as there are children sleeping, the delivery girl presses the calling bell without properly reading the instructions.

After that person (Brahmin) goes inside, her boyfriend tells her that the guy was talking too much. In a few seconds, the house owner returns, yelling at her that the order had been misplaced and that there was a Biriyani parcel inside.

While the girl is shown apologizing, the house owner yells at her, “Do you know what this is? Biriyani. We are all pure vegetarians. We never even had the smell of Biriyani in our house. It is your duty to check the order. You are a brainless idiot. You’d be better off dying than torturing us like this.”

An enraged boyfriend assaults the house owner, questioning how he can berate a woman for a misplaced order that isn’t her fault and that she is working in the hot sun delivering food. He added, “How dare you tell her she should die. I’ll break your jaw.”

The video seems like an attempt to incite hate towards Tamil Brahmin community by stereotyping and demonizing them as people who have no empathy.

This video that encourages violence against Brahmins has received over 18 lakh views and 1.5 lakh likes.
