Congress Leader Ahmed Patel Paid ₹30 Lakhs To Teesta Setalvad To Topple Modi Govt In Gujarat: SIT Submits To Gujarat HC

On 15 June 2023, the Gujarat government submitted in the Gujarat High Court that Teesta Setalvad was used by politicians to tarnish the image of the Modi government following the 2002 Gujarat riots.

They alleged that Setalvad received ₹30 lakh from former Congress leader Ahmed Patel to overthrow the then Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s government.

The government made this statement while opposing Setalvad’s bail application, as she is accused of fabricating evidence in the 2002 Gujarat riots case. The state’s prosecution, represented by Public Prosecutor Mitesh Amin, argued against granting her bail, citing concerns about her potential to tamper with evidence in the case related to the 2002 riots.

During the court proceedings, Mitesh Amin also referred to the late Congress leader Ahmed Patel and claimed that Setalvad was a “tool” in the hands of certain politicians from a specific political party.

Amin asserted that Setalvad utilized retired DGP RB Sreekumar and her co-accused former IPS Sanjiv Bhatt as “tools” to undermine the existing establishment in 2002 when Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister. He alleged that Setalvad and Patel conspired to implicate and depose the then-establishment during the Gujarat riots by providing financial support and orchestrating false FIRs against specific individuals.

Ahmed Patel who died of COVID in November 2020 was the political adviser and close confidante of Sonia Gandhi. He had apparently promised Teesta Setalvad that “money will continue to keep flowing”.

The prosecution will continue presenting its arguments on 22 June 2023. It’s worth mentioning that the Special Investigation Team (SIT), which investigated allegations of evidence fabrication in the Gujarat riot case, filed a chargesheet in 2022 against Teesta Setalvad, RB Sreekumar, and Sanjiv Bhatt. The chargesheet outlined Setalvad’s alleged plot to secure a death sentence for Narendra Modi, who was the Chief Minister at the time of the Gujarat riots.

The chargesheet also mentioned the manipulation of riot victims and their coerced statements, as well as Setalvad’s alleged misuse of funds collected in the name of the riots for personal purposes.

Teesta Setalvad, who claims to be an activist, was arrested in June 2022 by the Gujarat ATS on charges of forgery, witness tampering, and influencing the investigation of the 2002 Gujarat riots. These riots occurred in the aftermath of the Godhra Train burning incident, where a Muslim mob set fire to a Sabarmati Express bogey carrying passengers from Ayodhya, resulting in the death of 59 Hindus. Setalvad is accused of coaching witnesses and making baseless accusations in several cases related to the Gujarat riots in 2002.

The case against Setalvad was filed after the Supreme Court cleared Prime Minister Modi of any wrongdoing in the 2002 Gujarat riots. Setalvad was granted bail on September 2 by the Supreme Court.

“Free Run For Missionaries To Convert, Love Jihad Legalized”: Hindus React To K’taka Congress Govt Repealing Anti-Conversion Law

The Congress Government in Karnataka led by its Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced its decision on Thursday (15 June 2023) to repeal the controversial anti-conversion law that was previously passed during the BJP regime.

According to Karnataka Law Minister HK Patil, “The bill introduced by the BJP in 2022 will be revoked, and the bill we are introducing will be in line with the Constitution.”

The Karnataka Protection of Right to Freedom of Religion Act, 2022, which is commonly known as the anti-conversion law, was introduced by the previous BJP government and passed by the assembly in December 2021. The Congress party had opposed the bill at that time.

The anti-conversion law aimed to protect the right to freedom of religion and prohibited unlawful conversions through misrepresentation, force, undue influence, coercion, allurement, or fraudulent means. It specifically prohibited conversions achieved through misrepresentation, force, fraud, undue influence, coercion, allurement, or the promise of marriage.

Violating the law resulted in imprisonment for a period of three to five years and a fine of ₹25,000. In cases involving the conversion of a minor, a person of unsound mind, a woman, or someone belonging to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe, the imprisonment term was extended to ten years.

When the bill was passed by the previous government, the Congress party staged a walkout from the Assembly, using numerous adjectives to criticize the bill, including “anti-people,” “inhuman,” “anti-constitutional,” “anti-poor,” and “draconian.”

Since the implementation of the anti-conversion law, several cases have been filed in the state, with an average of more than one case reported every month.

While Congress and its supporters belonging to minority have rejoiced over the decision, many on social media lashed out calling it a anti-Hindu move.

Bengaluru South BJP MP Tejasvi Surya slammed the Congress government saying that it was fulfilling PFI’s agenda in Karnataka.

Here are some more reactions.

Patients Suffer As CM Stalin Visits Arrested DMK Min Senthil Balaji At Omandurar Govt Hospital

In a sad turn of events, the Omandurar Government Multipurpose Hospital faced disruptions yesterday 14 June 2023, as the Chief Minister and various other Ministers were paying a visit to Liquor Minister Senthil Balaji who had been admitted after a “chest pain” while being arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in the wee hours of Wednesday. The presence of paramilitary and police personnel led to tightened security measures at the hospital premises, affecting patients and visitors.

As a result of the visit, operations that were scheduled at the hospital for 14 June 2023 had to be postponed. Over 50 surgeries, including those in critical departments like heart, oncology, neurology, and vascular surgery, were rescheduled without a specified date for the procedures to take place.

The Omandurar Government Multipurpose Hospital, which typically treats around 1,500 outpatients and accommodates 400 inpatients daily, faced a temporary halt in its regular operations. Patients who arrived at the hospital’s outpatient department were evaluated by junior doctors who advised them to continue their usual medication and return for a follow-up check-up next week.

The restrictions on visitor access meant that patients had to be provided meals within the hospital premises. Only emergency life-saving surgeries were conducted during this period, while non-urgent procedures had to be put on hold.

Expressing their frustration, one affected patient shared their experience, stating, “I came for a routine heart checkup. After waiting for a long time, we were finally allowed to enter. The hospital conducted tests like ECG, but the doctors only advised us to continue our regular medication and return next week for further evaluation. It was disappointing not to receive proper treatment despite the long wait.”

The hospital administration is yet to announce a revised schedule for the postponed surgeries, leaving patients uncertain about their future appointments.

Efforts are underway to normalize operations at the Omandurar Government Multipurpose Hospital as soon as possible, ensuring that patients receive the necessary care and treatments they require.

The Hypocrisy Of The Kerala Communist Model

According to reports, the Kerala government is preparing to change the code of conduct for government employees in order to penalise personnel who criticise the administration in cyberspace. According to reports, Chief Secretary VP Joy has presented a paper to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan detailing revisions to the standards and cyber legislation that will effectively subject government personnel to tight government monitoring. Following growing instances of criticism by government employees, government officials are updating the code of conduct for government employees. When the reforms take effect, the government would have the authority to punish government employees who speak out against the state. They could even face dismissal from service. This development remains one among many instances in which the Pinarayi government has shown its true intolerant nature. Considering this we will peruse the true nature of the Pinarayi government and understand why the communist model of Kerala reeks of hypocrisy.

Fascist communist Kerala model

The intolerant nature of the Pinarayi government is out for the public to see, it is stated that Pinarayi Vijayan can even be qualified to be addressed as ‘Mao of the South’ due to his intolerant administration and use of police machinery. Union Minister V Muraleedharan remarked on Sunday that there is “Gundaraj” in Kerala, referring to the action taken against a journalist in connection with the mark list dispute. “Absurd and pathetic strongly condemn the Pinarayi Vijayan government’s harsh treatment of the media for reporting on the Marks sheet fraud.”

It is undemocratic and an infringement on press freedom. It is a shame that self-proclaimed media leaders did this,” Muraleedharan tweeted. He went on to say, “The state is ruled by CM Pinarayi Vijayan and CPIM, Kerala’s Gundaraj.” SFI thugs may attack lecturers, falsify credentials, and get away with it. Shame!” Based on a complaint by student union leader PM Arsho, Kerala Police initiated a case against five people, including an Asianet News journalist and the principal of the government-run Maharaja’s College in Ernakulam. In a complaint filed by Students’ Federation of India (SFI) state secretary and Maharajas College student PM Arsho alleging conspiracy, Kerala Police named Maharajas College, Ernakulam former coordinator Vinod Kumar, college principal VS Joy, KSU state president Alotious Xavier, Fazil C A, and Asianet News reporter Akhila Nandakumar as defendants. The case was filed under sections 120-B, 465, 469, and 500 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), as well as 120(o) of the Kerala Police (KP) Act 2011, for criminal conspiracy, forgery, and defamation. The dispute emerged after the college’s website displayed the results, which revealed PM Arsho was given a pass yet the grades looked to be zero. Arsho stated that he did not even register for this test and so did not take it. Initially, the principal indicated that Arsho had enrolled for the exam, but then stated that it was a technological fault on the side of the NIC and that many other pupils had the same problem. Arsho’s assertions were correct, and he did not enrol for the exam, he said. In the meantime, the Kerala Union of Working Journalists is objecting to the complaint filed against the reporter in the matter, claiming that the measure is undemocratic and an infringement on press freedom. Manoj K Das, the managing editor of Asianet News Network, stated that the case against the reporter is a flagrant infringement of press freedom and that they will fight it and continue to practise their kind of journalism. “The case against Akhila is a flagrant violation of press freedom.” It demonstrates a trend of attempting to stifle free media. For a long time, the Asianet News network has been targeted by government authorities. We will not be silent. We will fight back and continue to practise our kind of direct, bold, and persistent journalism’, Manoj K Das stated. The ‘Asianet episode’ is just another chapter in the lengthy saga of dictatorial behaviour by Kerala’s CM and the Pinarayi Vijayan government. In Kerala, media professionals regard Pinarayi Vijayan as a leader who dislikes, if not despises, the media. There has been little change in this attitude after the leader’s inauguration as chief minister. In 2016, instead of giving news conferences following Cabinet sessions, Vijayan stopped interacting with the media and began distributing press releases. When journalists went to cover a “meeting” at a hotel in Thiruvananthapuram in 2017, the chief minister exclaimed “kadakku purath” (Get out). The discussion with RSS officials was purportedly facilitated by Yoga Practitioner Sri M. The Chief Minister’s modification to the Kerala Police Act in 2020, intended at preventing cyberattacks against women, was interpreted as an attempt to limit media freedom. It intended to enact a new clause criminalising defamatory information, but it was withdrawn in response to resistance and civil society outcry. These events come on top of the previously existing restrictions on the press covering assembly operations. The episode plainly demonstrates that Kerala’s CM has frequently shown Maoist tactics in dealing with the media. The Vijayan administration is not getting favourable press coverage; back-to-back high-profile claims relating to the personal secretaries of the CM himself are making the rounds in journalistic circles, shaking the governing left’s confidence. In desperation, the CM has lashed out at the media; disagreement is the bedrock of a democratic society, and the CM, as a democratically elected leader, must embrace it.

By allowing his henchmen to catch the media by the throat, Pinarayi Vijayan has once again proved that he is a true Communist!

The Hypocrisy of the Communist Kerala Model

Above mentioned instances have been a few of many incidents in Kerala which came to the spotlight as a direct result of inaction or action by the communist government that is ruling the state. As the current administration enters its second year of a five-year mandate, it appears to be mired in a never-ending cycle of problems. The left government has courted controversy in everything from a disagreement with the governor to the nomination of party members to cabinet jobs. Despite being seen as a shining example of human growth and education, Kerala is being held back by total misgovernance and misunderstanding of crucial concerns. Even while preaching secularism and free speech, the communist dispensation openly brings in ordinances or circulars to choke free speech and even when they talk about development and employment, Kerala remains one of the worst states in the country in terms of employment and development. Kerala is a top achiever in education and human development, owing to its abundance of natural resources. However, the state’s prospects are being harmed by the governing dispensation’s continued disregard for requirements and wrong priorities. Around 3 million Keralites work abroad, making the economy heavily reliant on remittances from other countries. This is owing to the state’s lack of development. Agriculture provides just 12% of state GDP, while industry contributes 23% and services contribute 66%, according to a sector comparison. The thriving service industry is mostly driven by consumption rather than income creation. This is accurate when we consider that spirits sales account for a whopping 4.2% of Kerala’s budget income. The work situation in the state is similarly poor, which has fueled massive migration to other countries, with 12.5 percent of the labour force unemployed. Kerala is one of India’s worst achievers in terms of employment indexes.

But the ruling class remains oblivious to reality and continues to pile money into its coffers. For example, the government spent ₹34.79 crores on salaries and travel expenditures for ministers’ personal employees in 2019-20. A total amount of ₹7.13 crores was paid on pensions and gratuities for retiring employees. In contrast to 2013-14, spending on ministers’ personal staff salaries and travel costs increased by 25.30% in six years. The pay and other benefits of the CM’s personal workers increased by a stunning 190.61%. Pension costs have more than quadrupled, rising from ₹3.53 crore in 2013-14 to ₹7.13 crore in 2019-20. With long-term life expectancy and periodic pay and pension revisions, this load is expected to rise dramatically in the future years. The startling increase in these expenditures comes against the backdrop of the state’s poor financial status and growing debt. “According to Kerala’s Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2011, the sustainable debt level is estimated to be 23% of GSDP.” During 2019-20, Kerala spent 75.6% of borrowed funds on revenue spending and 20.13 percent on debt repayment. Only 3.85% of the borrowed funds were utilised for capital expenditure. Kerala, along with Punjab and Rajasthan, was designated as a very high debt ratio state’ in Crisil’s 2019 States of Growth report. These were the only states with debt-to-GDP ratios of more than 30%. An opinion can mislead and lie, but data remains true, and all relevant data sets point to the demise of the legendary ‘Kerala-Left Model.’ A state gripped by communal groups like the SDPI, PFI, and others, a state where economic possibilities are sparse, and a state where the governing regime displays absolute contempt for governance, has an uncertain future. However, the ‘left’ remains oblivious to these challenges. Brinda Karat, a Polit Bureau member of the CPI(M), previously stated that Kerala’s Left Democratic Front (LDF) administration is ‘a model for the party, and we are taking it to the rest of the country.’ The only bright spot in this is that fortunately for the rest of the country, the CPI(M) is unlikely to win power anyplace else in the country, leaving Kerala to suffer as the last stronghold of a dying obsolete ideology.

The nature in which the Pinarayi government administers the state makes us question whether Mr. Pinarayi is looking to make Kerala a true communist state in the model of Cuba or North Korea. Riddled in corruption and intolerance the communist Kerala model is pushing the state to the brink of stagnation; both economically and socially. The voters must realize this reality when the next election comes around the corner because every vote against the Vijayan government will be a vote for democracy.

“I Manufacture Talent, I Don’t Look For Talent”: Sadhguru At Isha Leadership Academy’s “Human Is Not A Resource” Program 2023

“I make talent. I manufacture talent. I don’t look for talent. All I’m looking for is those who are devoted to the purpose. Rest we can do,” remarked Sadhguru in a recorded interview played at the annual “Human Is Not A Resource” Leadership Program organised by Isha Leadership Academy.

The picturesque and powerfully energized Isha Yoga Center, Coimbatore, hosted the three-day leadership program, from June 9- June 11, 2023. Envisioned by Sadhguru, the program is distinguished for its unique focus on unpacking human potential in business.

When asked about his magical ability to mould less-experienced people to handle key positions, Sadhguru pointed out, “It’s management. It’s not magic.  The moment you call it magic, you are taking away the value of it. ”

“We are essentially talking about managing situations or managing people. They’re not two different things. But generally, everybody tries to manage situations.  It’s best you manage people. If you manage people, if you keep them at their best, situations will be fine,” explained Sadhguru.

Earlier on Day 2 of the “Human Is Not A Resource” (HINAR) witnessed S. Somanath, Chairman, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) taking center stage. The ISRO Chief revealed the organisation does not have a designated HR department and it is the role of leaders to generate passion and involvement in each one of those joining the ISRO.

“The secret is to create passion and involvement in each person. We don’t have an HR department to evaluate, mentor, or move people around. We do this ourselves. As much as I look at rockets, I look at people. And like me, there are many leaders in the organisation who do this function,”

Contrary to premier organisations looking to hire from IITs, the ISRO chief revealed that only a few of them are in ISRO.  Attributing nurturing talent as an important element in building institutions, he added, “The talent is immense in this country. And you have to only explore those talents and then create an ecosystem by which they can really grow to a level you will surpass the brilliant people around the country and around the world.”

Anuradha Razdan, Executive Director HR, Hindustan Unilever; CHRO, Unilever South Asia, delved into Hindustan Unilever Limited’s (HUL) ability to churn leader after leader. HUL is often referred the “CEO Factory” in the corporate circle as its alumni go on to occupy the CEO, and CXOs positions across corporates in India.

“We have produced leader after leader, across generations. The one thing that ties them together is the mindset of ‘leaders building leaders’. This is something that we have been able to sustain and grow,” stated Ms Razdan.

The three days of HINAR witnessed participants getting a unique opportunity to interact and pick the minds of the  Resource Leaders, who are industry veterans, and mentor the participants individually. Industry veterans- Samit Ghosh, Founder, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank Ltd.; Vasanthi Srinivasan, Professor, IIM Bangalore; Amit Anchal, Board Member, Ola Electric; Himanshu Saxena, Founder & CEO – Centre of Strategic Mindset (COSM) and Pratik Pal, CEO, Tata Digital joined to share their wisdom nuggets to a diverse set of participants who are thought leaders, business and HR heads from organisations across India.

Ashutosh Pandey, MD & CEO at Mahindra First Choice Wheels, and Moumita Sen Sarma, Isha Leadership Academy kept the participants engaged as Program Anchors for HINAR 2023.

Human is NOT a Resource (HINAR) is an annual leadership program organised by the Isha Leadership Academy. The 3 days program brings together thought leaders, business, and HR practitioners from diverse fields to discuss practical steps to enable a paradigm shift from human beings as resources to human beings as possibilities. The participants also undertake yoga and meditation sessions to strengthen their ability to respond consciously and lead effectively in a highly dynamic world.

Over 12 years ago, Sadhguru founded Isha Leadership Academy to provide the highest quality leadership education by combining external skill sets with tools for well-being. Isha Leadership Academy focuses on cultivating leadership as an innate and intuitive process – beyond strategies or techniques. Its guiding principle is the importance of first managing one’s own mind, body, and energies, in order to manage external situations and people.

DMK IT Wing Member Spews Casteist Slur At India Today Woman Journalist For Calling Out Senthil Balaji’s “Chest Pain” Drama

In a distressing incident, Akshita Nandagopal, a woman journalist from India Today, was subjected to casteist slurs by Dravidian Stockists for daring to question the chest pain drama of DMK Minister Senthil Balaji during his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the early hours of 14 June 2023.

While the caste of journalist Akshita Nandagopal remains unknown, she was targeted with derogatory remarks, referred to as “Nooliban” – a term used by Dravidian Stockists to insult Brahmins.

Earlier today, the Enforcement Directorate arrested DMK Liquor Minister V Senthil Balaji after conducting searches at his premises as part of a money laundering investigation. Balaji was taken into custody for questioning following the raids carried out on Tuesday.

Amidst tight security, the ED brought Senthil Balaji to the Omandurar government hospital in Chennai for a medical examination due to his complaints of chest pain. The scene outside the hospital turned into high drama as the DMK leader arrived, visibly shedding tears of pain while lying inside a car. His supporters gathered to protest against the ED’s actions.

However, common people began to question the authenticity of Balaji’s chest pain, accusing him of acting to evade arrest by the Enforcement Directorate. Akshita Nandagopal, India Today’s deputy editor, took a jibe at the minister’s acting skills, referring to him as the new “Ulaga Nayagan” (Universal Hero) of acting.

In a tweet, she stated, “Did the blockage appear just now or did he ignore the symptoms till now? Didn’t DMK leaders go on record to claim Senthil Balaji was ‘physically assaulted’ by the ED and hence was taken to the hospital? Wish Mr. Balaji a speedy recovery but won’t stop asking questions.”

However, instead of engaging in a meaningful dialogue, Akshita faced casteist slurs and abuse. Although her caste background was not public knowledge, she was targeted as a Brahmin and subjected to derogatory remarks.

Responding to Akshita’s tweet, a member of DMK’s IT wing named “Surya Born To Win” retorted, “Let the ADMK slaves, BJP Sanghis, and NTK Thumbies call the chest pain of Minister Senthil Balaji drama. But what are the Sanghis with ‘Nool’ in the disguise of journalists going to say about the recommendations of doctors led by ESI hospital run by the Union Government? Drama?”

The IT wing member further hurled casteist slurs at Akshita, labeling her a ‘Nooliban’ journalist and dismissing her questions. He stated, “Blockage can appear anytime, you know? It is not necessary to have symptoms of blockage. Do you know that? Yes, it is true. Due to the physical harassment (by the ED), he (Senthil Balaji) got chest pain.”

Despite the casteist slurs directed at her, Akshita responded by saying, “Caste toolkit activated,” highlighting the regressive behavior of Dravidian Stockists.

This incident triggered a wave of backlash on social media, with many expressing their disappointment over the abuse directed at a journalist for merely fulfilling her duty of asking pertinent questions.

This is not the first time that DMK leaders and its cadres have abused woman journalists.

Audio leak fame DMK Minister PTR Palanivel Thiagarajan had hounded woman journalists multiple times specifically those belonging to the Brahmin community.

He had abused business news journalist Chandra R Srikanth by invoking her caste identity who had had put out a tweet that a top leader’s son was involved in a mega land grab.

PTR had made personal remarks against The Hindu Publishing Group’s Chairperson Malini Parthasarathy who had tweeted about Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi’s clarification on the Tamil Nadu versus Thamizhagam debate.

Prior to that, he had attacked Malini Parthasarathy for sharing Isha Foundation’s response to the DMK minister’s diatribe which The Hindu had carried in the form of an article.

When he was the DMK IT Wing head, PTR had indulged in denigrating Sandhya Ravishankar who had exposed some of the false rhetoric of the Pollachi Sexual Abuse case.

Netizens Question Deafening Silence Of Actor Suriya Amid Tamil Nadu Students Topping NEET Exam

In a remarkable display of talent and dedication, four students from Tamil Nadu have secured a place in the top 10 ranks of the NEET 2023 examination. This news comes as a moment of pride for the state, especially considering the opposition the exam has faced in recent years. However, amidst the celebrations, popular actor Surya, who has been a vocal critic of the NEET exam, has chosen to remain silent, drawing criticism from netizens.

The NEET 2023 results were announced yesterday, and Prabanjan J from Tamil Nadu and Bora Varun Chakravarthi from Andhra Pradesh emerged as the toppers with a perfect score of 720. Joining them in the top 10 ranks are three other bright students from Tamil Nadu—Kaustav Bauri, Surya Siddharth N, and Varun S.

It is noteworthy to mention that Kautav Bauri, a Scheduled Caste candidate from Tamil Nadu, has secured the third rank rubbing it in the face of pseudo-social justice warriors.

These students have exhibited exceptional talent and determination, and deserve heartfelt congratulations for their impressive achievements.

Tamil Nadu BJP state president K Annamalai congratulated the students on their stellar performance and highlighted the significance of their success in Tamil Nadu. He emphasized that the results serve as a lesson to political parties such as the DMK, who have politicized the NEET examination. Annamalai praised NEET for providing a level playing field to all aspiring doctors, irrespective of their backgrounds.

However, the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has consistently opposed the NEET exam, citing concerns about its potential discrimination against students from disadvantaged backgrounds and those studying in state boards.

The current situation has brought attention to an old tweet by actor Surya, in which he expressed his belief that the NEET exam is biased against Tamil students. Netizens are now questioning the actor’s silence and his failure to congratulate the successful Tamil students who excelled in the exam.

Actor Surya had previously encouraged people to voice their concerns by writing to the AK Rajan committee, established by the DMK government, to examine the impact of NEET on Tamil students. In a statement released on June 19, 2021, he claimed that the “single-choice system” of determining eligibility was against social justice and criticized the exam for hindering the educational prospects of underprivileged students.

“An examination like NEET is not only against the interest of the student but also against the interest of the state,” the actor said. He has also asked that all education should be brought under the state list and that all should political parties should unite for the cause. “In a country like India where there are many different languages, cultures and cultural differences, education needs to be a state right. That is the only permanent solution. I urge all political parties to work together on the principle of ‘State Right to Education’, the statement read.

He added, “The dream of thousands of poor students who studied with the ambition of becoming a doctor was set on fire by NEET exam’. The scars of the injury it caused will not disappear for a long time. The panel, headed by Justice AK Rajan, appointed by the Tamil Nadu government, has asked the public to comment on the implications of the NEET test. We need to make people aware of the seriousness of the impact of the ‘NEET’, which has called into question the future of our children. I would like to ask the students and their families to register their grievances on the impact of NEET on or before June 23 by sending an email to neetimpact2021@gmail.com”

Earlier in 2020, Suriya called NEET and other entrance exams as ‘Manu Needhi’ exams saying that such exams brought out by the government amplified inequalities in society.

However, with Tamil Nadu students demonstrating their brilliance and succeeding in the NEET examination, the silence of actor Surya has sparked controversy. Social media users argue that the actor should acknowledge the accomplishments of these students and recognize their hard work, given his strong stance against the exam.

As the debate surrounding NEET continues, netizens eagerly await a response from actor Surya. The achievements of Tamil Nadu students in the NEET 2023 exam not only highlight their talent but also raise questions about the validity of claims made against the examination.

The New Murasoli: TNM’s Shabbir Ahmed Bends Backwards To Prove Senthil Balaji Arrest Is Politically Motivated

Alleged ‘journalist’ Shabbir Ahmed of Dravidian Stockist propaganda outlet The News Minute (TNM) has gone out of his way to portray the arrest of DMK Liquor Minister Senthil Balaji as an act of revenge by the BJP which has happened just days after Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit.

The News Minute, as expected, has cried foul and their journalist, Shabbir Ahmed in this nearly 20-minute video tries to explain the details of the arrest of the minister alleging it to be a handiwork of the BJP to crackdown on political opponents.

He begins by asking the question as to why the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had to conduct the raid now, that too for a scam that happened nearly a decade ago, highlighting the AIADMK reign when it happened. He also stresses the point that the ED harassed Senthil Balaji, which has been peddled by the DMK to play victim card.

In this video, he compares the arrests of Partha Chatterjee of West Bengal with that of Senthil Balaji. He says that even though this action has come in response to the scam, he emphatically believes that there is a political angle to this arrest and that such moves were made basically to break parties and make politicians change affiliations and “move to the BJP”.

He also questions the need to arrest Senthil Balaji at midnight as the investigation was ongoing and that since he is a minister in the state cabinet, there was no risk of him fleeing.

Will Senthil Balaji Be Removed From His Position As A Minister? Asks Shabbir Worriedly

Shabbir Ahmed seemed genuinely concerned about whether Senthil Balaji will be allowed to continue as a minister post his arrest and filing of charges. He talks about the arrest of a former cabinet minister in the Kejriwal-led Delhi government, Satyendar Jain, who he said continued as a minister despite his arrest and it was only after about 14 months after the arrest that he resigned. He also speaks about Manish Sisodia, former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, and mentioned that after he was arrested, Sisodia resigned from his post. So will Senthil Balaji be able to continue as minister or will he have to resign, very sincerely worries Shabbir.

DMK Is Ready For The Next Steps Says Shabbir Confidently

Shabbir very confidently indicates that there is a political shade to the ED raids and the arrest of Senthil Balaji. He also speaks gloriously about how Senthil Balaji rose up the ranks in a very short period of time:

As soon as he joined the DMK, Senthil Balaji was made the DMK Karur District Secretary in 2019. In 2021, he was made the minister and enjoys great support in the Kongu region.

Shabbir continues to sing paeans about Senthil Balaji saying he is a powerful minister and is very close to the Chief Minister MK Stalin and that could be a reason that many were targeting him.

Shabbir also went on to add that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was looking to capture power (win seats in Tamil Nadu) and this could be possible only if Senthil Balaji was removed from the picture. He mentions that Senthil Balaji’s influence over the people and planning and strategy caused a setback to AIADMK in the recent local elections.

According to Shabbir, IT raids in general, are a way to “finish” an entire network of politicians, now again his concern for the Minister is seen as he wonders whether after this arrest, will Senthil Balaji be able to work effectively.

He says that such an attack on Senthil Balaji by the central government is a clear message to the DMK and that he was worried about how MK Stalin will handle this politically and legally.

This is not the first time Shabbir Ahmed blatantly does this, even political analyst Savukku Shankar agrees.

The Commune Mag had earlier reported on how Shabbir shamelessly justified the usurpation of a village by the Waqf board and how his ground reports on the hooch tragedy in May 2023 completely ignored the DMK connections to the incident and shifted the blame on the authorities. He doesn’t stop there – there have been many instances where he has bent backwards to prove his loyalty to the ruling dispensation in Tamil Nadu – here are some articles for you to read:

Shabbir Assaulted By DMK Goons

It will be a good reminder at this juncture that the same Shabbir Ahmed was assaulted by DMK goons in 2014 while covering the elections.

It would do well for The News Minute to change its current named to The New Murasoli as they keep parroting the DMK line time and again.

Blast From The Past: This Is What Karunanidhi Said About Senthil Balaji

Amidst the ongoing drama surrounding the arrest of Prohibition and Excise Minister of Tamil Nadu, Senthil Balaji by the Enforcement Directirate (ED) in connection with the transport job scam, a Facebook post made in 2016 from Karunanidhi’s official account is doing the rounds on social media.

The post mentioned the High Court’s order on the cash-for-jobs scam in which Senthil Balaji has been accused and is now arrested. Karunanidhi in the Facebook post goes on to mention that Senthil Balaji has been accused of collecting a sum of ₹4.25 crores through his assistant from numerous individuals, promising them employment opportunities in the transport corporation. However, the jobs were not provided, and the money was not returned.

“Question – In the case pertaining to former Minister Senthil Balaji who has been accused of fraud by promising government jobs for money, the Madras High Court has said that there is no bar on him in contesting election?”, reads the question.

Karunanidhi’s reply goes thus: “Even though the court has not barred him from contesting election, the High Court has directed the police to file an affidavit regarding the status of the case pertaining to the fraud case on Senthil Balaji by coming 7th of the month. According to the details of the case, it is alleged that ₹4.25 crore was given to the minister through his assistant, which the latter had collected from many people to place them in various jobs including drivers and conductors in the transport corporation. But the neither got the job nor their money was returned. The same complaint is there on many ministers. But now a complaint has reached the High Court.”

Senthil Balaji, today a close confidante of the current Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin, had been accused of the same crimes by MK Stalin himself in the past, creating an ironic turn of events.

Back in 2021, the Chennai police filed a chargesheet against Senthil Balaji, along with 46 others, including retired and serving officers, in connection with a recruitment scam.

According to sources, out of the 47 accused mentioned by the Chennai City Crime Branch job fraud wing, 33 individuals secured positions in various Transport Corporations, including MTC Chennai, by paying bribes to Senthil Balaji, who was the minister at the time, through his aides in 2014-15. The High Court had ordered a reinvestigation into the recruitment scam, specifically regarding the hiring of reserve crew drivers, conductors, Junior Trades Men, Junior Assistant (JA), Junior Engineer (JE), and Assistant Engineer (AE) in all the Transport Corporations.

Investigations revealed collusion between Senthil Balaji, his close associates, and various officials during the appointment process, abusing their positions of authority. The appointment orders were allegedly issued based on fraudulent lists provided by Balaji, rather than on merit. His aides, B Shanmugam and M Karthikeyan were accused of collecting large sums of money from the candidates on his behalf.

The recent events surrounding the ED raids and subsequent arrest of Senthil Balaji have reignited public attention on the alleged recruitment scam. As the case progresses, it remains to be seen how the legal proceedings and investigations unfold, shedding light on the extent of the alleged fraudulent activities and the involvement of various individuals implicated in the scandal.
