Remains Of 10th Century Chola-Era Shiva Temple Unearthed Near Tiruverambur, Tiruchirapalli

Tamil Nadu is renowned for its historical prominence under the reign of the triumvirate emperors: the Cheras, Cholas, and Pandyas. During their rule, literature, art, culture, ethics, and values flourished, reaching their zenith. A significant aspect of their legacy lies in their extensive donations to temples and architectural marvels. Notably, the Imperial Cholas, known for their devotion to Shaivism, established their ancient capital in Urayur near Trichy. Recent excavations near Tiruverumbur, Trichy have unveiled the magnificence of their reign, shedding light on their glorious past.

In Kumbakudi near Tiruverumpur, an ancient temple dating back to the 10th century AD has been unearthed. Despite its dilapidated state, the local Shiva worship group, in collaboration with villagers, undertook the task of renovating and restoring the temple. In honor of Shivratri, a special worship ceremony was organized within its precincts. Dhanasekhar, an employee at the central government’s HABP factory in Trichy, notified the Aatrupadai Historical Society about the discovery of this ancient temple.

Parthiban, a member of the Aatrupadai Historical Society who led the survey, noted that the temple’s stone carvings, dating back to the Chola period, were in a state of disrepair. An inscription attributed to Vikrama Chola within the temple provides insights into the town’s history, referring to it as a subdivision of “Pandiya Kulasani Valanatu Tenkarai Brahma Theyam Sri Cholamadevi Chaturvedi Mangalam”. Here, Brahma deyam signifies the land gifted to Brahmins for the management of temple affairs, while Chaturvedi mangalam denotes the lands allocated for the study of the four Vedas.

The name “Kumpakudi” has persisted for over a millennium according to the inscriptions. It is documented that an official named Kumbakkudi Natalvan, Vellalar from Kavir Naadu, and along with Cholamadevi Sabha, contributed land to the temple. Additional inscriptions mention Anbilurudayar and Thiruvenkadudayar near Lalgudi. Parthiban suggests that a study of the temple’s scattered construction stones could yield valuable insights into life during the Chola period.

Dravidian Model: TN Police Goes All The Way To Bihar To Arrest Online Troll, He Was Earlier Targeted By Self-Styled Fact-Checker Zubair Rewarded By Stalin Govt

In another dramatic action, Tamil Nadu Police landed up in Bihar to arrest a social media troll for posting a meme on DMK Minister of Youth Welfare and Sports Development of Tamil Nadu and son of Chief Minister MK Stalin. It is alleged that the police have arrested the brother of the person in question.

It is said that The Squint was facing arrest because he shared a morphed picture of Udhayanidhi Stalin handing over an award to alleged fact-checker Mohammed Zubair where the award was allegedly morphed into something else.

In January 2024, another Congressi handle @TeamSaath which is known for doxxing non-left handles critical of the Congress or the “minority” community, tagged DMK’s Udhayanidhi Stalin and alleged fact-checker Zubair on Squint’s post which was supposedly a meme on the former. They also tagged MK Stalin and TN police.

Before that, AltNews in February 2024 came up with an article that claimed Squint was “harassing Hindu women” who were in a relationship with Muslim men.

The Squint had only posted a funny meme which many said was in bad taste.

This led to a case being filed against The Squint by TN Police. Zubair playing his role to the T even posted this where he seemed to be issuing veiled threats. He wrote, “What’s the use of deleting old controversial and doxxing tweets. All your tweets were archived. @TheSquind”

TN Police which seems to have their priorities jumbled landed up in Bihar and allegedly harassed the family members of The Squint. It is said that they arrested his brother who did not even have a social media presence.

AltNews has been known to doxx handles on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). During one such doxxing exercise, Sinha exposed a young boy who goes by the name The Squint (a wordplay on The Quint). This led to his profile being suspended by the then Twitter.

Squint returned to the platform as The Squint (@squindneon) and was exposing anti-nationals and those who were indulging in love jihad.

Following the arrest, DMK supporters such as rabid Dravidian Stockist DMK supporter with the X handle name “Surya Born To Win” rejoiced that TN Police landed up in Bihar. Going by his post, one can deduce that if making ugly memes was a crime, then the supporters of the DMK are criminals for all the kinds of nasty posts they make against Brahmins, Hindu Dharma, and politicians of the BJP.

The same Surya also noted why The Squint was trending – because the great TN Police was in Bihar looking for him

This rabid DMK supporter Surya Born To Win had called the north Indian states as “Cow belt states”. He also made racist comments by branding the people living in these states saying “Illiterate, communal bigots don’t want development”.

Surya Born To Win is close to the ruling DMK establishment and is known for spewing venom against Hindus and BJP supporters.

He has also spewed abuse on journalists critical of the DMK and casteist venom especially if the journalists happen to be from the Brahmin community.

It is noteworthy that Tamil Nadu Police went behind Manish Kashyap for a fake video. Manish Kashyap, a YouTuber from Bihar, imprisoned over a fake video alleging assault on Bihari migrants in Tamil Nadu, has been granted bail in all cases. He surrendered in March 2023, after his house was confiscated. Tamil Nadu Police detained him, but the Madras High Court quashed the detention order and dropped NSA charges. The video was found fabricated by Rakesh Ranjan Kumar. Bihar EOU filed four cases against Kashyap, while Tamil Nadu Police filed 13, naming him in six. Chief Justice Chandrachud questioned the necessity of the NSA against him. Kashyap awaits release pending formalities from Beur jail.

Another instance where TN Police prioritised filing cases and arresting netizens and journalists is the case of journalist Abhijit Majumder. The police went all the way to a Noida-based media house looking for Abhijit without issuing any summons. This incident stems from a piece Abhijit had written earlier in September 2023 for FirstPost, where he analysed the political ramifications of a controversial speech delivered by Udhayanidhi Stalin, the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin.

Here are some other recent instances where the Tamil Nadu police have been actively pursuing individuals critical of the ruling DMK:

  • The Commune and its directors faced legal action for reporting on the confrontation between Podu Deekshitars of the Chidambaram Nataraja Temple and HR&CE officials.
  • Tamil Nadu BJP State Secretary SG Suryah was taken into custody under non-bailable sections for his comments regarding Madurai CPI-M MP Su Venkatesan concerning a sanitation worker’s tragic death during drain cleaning in Pennadam town, Cuddalore district.
  • An AIADMK IT wing member was apprehended under non-bailable sections for sharing a video meme that humorously referenced MK Stalin’s video statement on Senthilbalaji’s arrest. The meme did not contain derogatory content.
  • A Pro-BJP Twitter user was arrested for sharing an old article and allegedly misattributing DMK to an illegal liquor-producing gang in Tiruppur, following the recent hooch tragedy in Marakkanam.
  • Vice President of Tamil Nadu BJP’s Industrial Cell, Selva Kumar, was arrested for criticizing DMK Minister Senthilbalaji.
  • The admin of Voice of Savukku Shankar X handle was arrested for a video meme targeting CM MK Stalin and DMK Minister PTR Palanivel Thiagarajan regarding the “eligible household” clause in the monthly assistance scheme for women.
  • The DMK government traveled to Gujarat to arrest BJP cadre John Ravi, who had made satirical social media posts about CM MK Stalin and his late father, Karunanidhi.
  • A member of TTV Dhinakaran’s AMMK was arrested for posting a meme mocking the Tamil Nadu sports ministry led by Udhayanidhi Stalin.
  • Political commentator Kishore K Swamy was detained for posts critical of MK Stalin related to monsoon preparations. Previously, he had been subjected to the Goondas Act for criticizing DMK leaders Karunanidhi, Stalin, and Annadurai.
  • DMK critic YouTuber-turned-BJP cadre Karthik Gopinath was arrested for raising funds for temples in Siruvachur, Perambalur district, which had been vandalized by miscreants.
  • BJP supporter and political analyst Krishna Kumar Murugan was arrested in connection with alleged ‘defamatory’ posters caricaturing MK Stalin.
  • YouTuber Maridhas was taken into custody for a video discussing Tablighi Jamaat and a tweet related to the late Chief of Defence Staff Bipin Rawat.
  • Naam Tamilar functionary Ganesh Kumar alias Nila Kannan was apprehended for posting an image of the late DMK leader Karunanidhi being served food by three different women.
  • A critic of the DMK, Badri Seshadri, was arrested for his comments in an interview on a YouTube channel regarding the Manipur issue, during which he made remarks about the Chief Justice of India.
  • TN BJP Functionary Pravin Raj was arrested in the wee hours of 1 October 2023 for his posts targeting the ruling party and the Congress.
  • N Muthuramalingam, the State Propaganda Secretary of South India Forward Bloc, was arrested for expressing his views on Facebook regarding the release of terrorists convicted in the 1998 Coimbatore serial blasts case. Muthuramalingam had criticized Dravidian parties for considering the release of 36 prisoners, including those convicted for life in the Coimbatore terror attack, leading to his arrest.
  • BJP IT Wing & Social Media State Secretary Trichy Pugal Machendran was arrested in January 2024 for sharing a Facebook post regarding the president of the All India Jihad Committee, Palani Baba, also known as Ahmed Ali on his death anniversary. Pugal’s statement allegedly celebrates the death of the president of the All India Jihad Committee Palani Baba, referred to as a “poisonous influence”.

Many on social media condemned the arrest of Squint Neon saying that instead of arresting those who are involved in drug smuggling, the DMK is abusing the official machinery to target critics.

Sun News Goes On A Rant After Sarath Kumar Joins BJP, Actor Trolls Them On Camera

On 12 March 2024, actor R Sarath Kumar merged his party, the All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi (AISMK), with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu. This merger caused controversy, with the DMK and its associates struggling to accept regional parties aligning with a national entity, especially the BJP. Despite attempts to undermine the merger through various narratives, including those spread on social media proved futile, leading to mockery directed back at themselves.

The Sun News channel, affiliated with the DMK’s first family, launched into an intense series of rants on its social media and news channel beginning at 1 PM in the afternoon lasting until 6 pm in the evening, with gap ranging from 5 to 10 minutes between each update. Following a brief intermission after 3 PM, the pace slowed a bit, but the channel continued intermittently until 6 PM, striving to shape narratives.

It began with news card segments immediately after announcement after the merger, “The party chief Sarath Kumar merged his All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi with the BJP.”

Then, it solicited opinions from viewers, before reposting the same message with the party affiliation crossed out.

Updates followed, quoting Sarath Kumar’s perceived significance in national politics.

The channel mockingly ranted again, “The political landscape of Tamil Nadu witnesses the largest political party  AISMK merger with the BJP!”

Then another news card declared, “The party head office was ready for the last event of the AISMK..!”

An image featuring Tamil Nadu BJP chief Annamalai and AISMK chief Sarath Kumar prompted viewers to provide captions.

Subsequently, the channel highlighted party members’ discontent peddling narrative as entire party, with a news card stating, “SMK executives strongly oppose the BJP-AISMK merger! Tension arose as an SMK executive walked out of the meeting protesting the merger of the party.”

Then theyshared Sarathkumar’s statement, “I asked my wife Radhika and joined SMK with BJP! – Sarathkumar

As a true mouthpiece of the ruling DMK, the channel mourned, “AISMK concludes its political journey, which began in 2007 and ended in 2024.”

Lacking fresh content, it delved into Sarath Kumar’s social media and posted, “Within minutes of joining the BJP, Sarath Kumar becomes part of Modi’s family!”

Expressing the displeasure of SMK party members, the channel peddled a narrative where it stated, “Joining the party without consulting my wife was a mistake!” The party executive was angered by Sarath Kumar’s remark that he consulted his wife before joining the BJP.

As the rants progressed, the channel slowed its posts but continued to criticize Sarath Kumar by sharing old videos where he opposed the BJP in the previous alliance.

Then over two posts, they shared pictures of Sarath Kumar’s car which previously had his party flag which later turned to BJP.

At 6 PM, the rant concluded with a video outlining Sarath Kumar’s political journey from 1996 to 2024.

Today, the Sun News channel resumed its rant, ridiculing Sarath Kumar’s decision to consult his wife regarding the party merger. It juxtaposed this against the DMK’s stance on women empowerment, as advocated by their ideologue EV Ramasamy, suggesting a contradiction within their followers who criticize their own ideology.

Sarath Kumar swiftly responded, “They mock me for not being able to sleep at night… I consulted my wife for her opinion. Who else would I consult other than my wife?

However, what turned out to be amusing was that Sarath Kumar, who had been ridiculed by the channel, retaliated sarcastically during a reporters’ meeting by mocking the same channel in front of them. This incident was later shared by the same Sun News channel without realizing that they had been mocked. When asked if he would be given any responsibility in the BJP, Sarath Kumar responded, “I did not come to BJP for responsibility, I came to act responsibly.”

The reporters then quoted party cadre as saying that Sarath Kumar must be announced as the CM candidate. To this he replied, “People can think whatever they want, see you yourself are thinking – if something is going fine, you think why it is going fine. You are trying to set a narrative. As far as I am concerned, I don’t deviate from anything, I won’t deviate from anything, if I make a decision, I will stick firmly to it. Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam should know that, and I am more happy than that, why because they have put 37 tweets, even for Kalaignar’s death they did not post so much.

Later, he expressed satisfaction, stating that the content was enjoyable and engaging. He confidently predicted that the BJP would secure victory for the third consecutive time at the centre, encouraging the news channel to share this news with a smile.

Even the admin of the DMK Sun news channel took this troll seriously, issuing a breaking news card without realizing that Sarath Kumar was mocking them.

The online community ridiculed the Sun News channel by meticulously tallying their critical posts targeting Sarath Kumar. They delved into the matter further and found amusement in it.

“The Hard Disk Went Missing, We Lost 21 Days’ Footage”, Says Lal Salaam Director Aishwarya Rajinikanth On Not Being Able To Deliver A Good Film

In a recent interview with Vikatan, Aishwarya Rajinikanth opened up about the challenges faced during the shooting of her latest film, ‘Lal Salaam’.

Beginning the interview by acknowledging the response of the public to her film, she claimed that her directorial vision was not what the people liked and much similar to our review, the film was a confusing mess

She revealed that they encountered a major setback when they lost 21 days’ worth of footage, leading to significant reshoots and compromises in editing. “We were shocked as we lost 21 days of footage. It was a huge irresponsibility. It’s unfortunate. During the shooting, we had 500 junior artists almost every day. As a team, we were 2,000 people. We had a 10-camera set-up to shoot a cricket match. Since we didn’t have enough days, we brainstormed on camera angles to shoot a match. The entire cricket match footage was lost. It went missing,” Aishwarya said.

Despite completing the shooting, Aishwarya explained that they faced budget constraints and logistical issues preventing them from opting for reshoots immediately.  “The shooting was completed – Appa [Rajinikanth], Vishnu Vishal, and Senthil had changed their getups. We couldn’t go for reshoot because of budget constraints and logistical issues. Then we re-edited the film with the footage we had. It was a huge challenge. Rajinikanth and Vishnu Vishal then suggested going for a re-shoot as they didn’t want me to compromise on the quality. We couldn’t completely shoot, but took a few shots and managed the rest. It was a huge compromise. Maybe, it was meant to happen. We need to be more careful. The hard disk went missing,” she said.

When asked if the film could have conveyed better to the audience, she said, “100%, we could not reshoot 2-3 important scenes. The film shooting got delayed by a few days because of rain. Then it became difficult to get the dates. Because of that, some other things were a big compromise.”

Netizens view this statement from Aishwarya as a stupid excuse for making such a poor film.

Bastar: The Naxal Story Exposes The Horrors Of Red Terror

Need to pinch myself to believe that I live in a time when we have started making movies to tell the horror stories of red terror! It would be a tribute of a kind to the late Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Bipin Rawat and the movie is getting released just a day before his birth anniversary.

For many urban dwellers, global events might stir empathy, prompting them to engage with hashtags and trends to express support for victims of various attacks. However, there’s a noticeable gap when it comes to rallying behind our own forces who have valiantly faced the brutal onslaught of red terror right in the heart of our nation.

Bastar: The Naxal Story provides a glimpse of the inhuman treatment meted out to tribals and villages by the communists under the garb of Maoists, our countrymen have been living a shoddy life, under constant fear for life without any basic amenities for a decent living.

Sudipta Da deserves accolades for the cast, the main characters, especially the politician and the lawyer fighting to save the people from Maoists acted brilliantly. The background score and the two songs accentuated the scene and the situation. The story inside the story of an encounter between a mother and a son and the ideology preference as per their age and circumstances added flavor to the hard-gripping story.

The film’s director didn’t shy away from capturing the gory acts of the Maoists akin to Kashmir files, because the audience has to feel the pain of the victims and justly too. This deliberate choice aims to make the audience feel the profound pain of the victims, serving as a stark reminder of the harsh realities faced by those caught in the crossfire. The flip between court scenes, village, Maoist camps, and police camps was neatly done and kept the movie interesting till the end.

The real face of communism has been unmasked and its evil designs have been laid bare, Bastar is a lesson for everyone who considers communism to be good for the nation and the world. As the dialogue goes ‘communism (Maoist) is the third dangerous militant group next to ISIS and Boko Haram. Some movies are not made for entertainment but they are tell-tale of unfortunate countrymen, who lived through a horrid time in the red corridor.

Controversial Actor Mansoor Ali Khan Holds Talks With AIADMK For Upcoming Parliamentary Elections

Actor Mansoor Ali Khan, known for his involvement in Tamil Nadu politics, initiated talks with the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) and is trying to forge an alliance with them for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Scheduled to take place in April and May this year, the Lok Sabha elections have prompted political parties across the country to intensify their election preparations.

In Tamil Nadu, the political landscape is heating up as parties engage in discussions to finalize constituencies and candidates. Amid these developments, Mansoor Ali Khan, the leader of the Indian Democratic Tigers Force, expressed interest in joining the AIADMK alliance for the Lok Sabha elections. Khan, who previously contested in various elections under different party banners, engaged in discussions with AIADMK representatives, including Munusamy, Dindigul Srinivasan, and Benjamin, regarding the collaboration.

Reports indicate that the alliance is sealed and that Khan has expressed a desire to contest from either the Arani or Vellore Lok Sabha seat. Khan has previously contested elections from different constituencies, albeit without success. Khan’s recent controversial comments about actress Trisha garnered attention, leading to legal repercussions.

While discussing his experience shooting for Vijay-starrer Leo, Mansoor Ali Khan stated, “When I heard that I was acting with Trisha, I thought there would be a bedroom scene in the film. I thought that I could carry her to the bedroom just like I did with other actresses in my earlier movies. I have done so many rape scenes in a number of movies and it’s not new to me. But these guys didn’t even show Trisha to me on the sets during the Kashmir schedule.”

Some of the other controversies he has been involved in include:

Khan was convicted of rape and sentenced to jail for 7 years. According to a Times of India report, Mansoor Ali Khan was arrested on 11 December 1998 based on a complaint by a woman named Sneha Sharma. In 2001, he received a seven-year rigorous imprisonment sentence after being convicted by the Principal Sessions Court in the alleged rape case. However, in 2012, Mansoor Ali Khan proved in the Madras High Court that the accusations made by the women were false. Subsequently, the court directed the woman to pay ₹50 lakh as compensation to Mansoor Ali Khan.

In the same year, he encountered another legal issue, this time related to allegations of land-grabbing. The charges implicated him in the unauthorized construction of a 16-storey building in Arumbakkam, Chennai, leading to his arrest.

In 2018, incarcerated in Salem Central prison, he staged a day-long fast to protest the Salem–Chennai green corridor project and the dismissal of his bail application by an Omalur court. The Theevattipatti police had arrested the actor earlier for delivering defamatory speeches in villages around Kaamalapuram in May of that year. During these speeches, he threatened to attack authorities if they attempted to acquire farmland for an eight-lane road project. Around this time, he had also stated that for Naam Tamizhar Katchi, going to jail is akin to visiting a temple.

Earlier in 2023, he spoke derogatorily about Tamannah’s dance moves for the song Kavaalaa in the film Jailer. Discussing the censorship situation in Tamil Nadu concerning his film Saraku, Khan voiced his dissatisfaction with the edits and alterations mandated by the Censor Board. Mansoor raised the issue of Kaavaalaa, questioning the approval of the song and expressing disdain for its quality. Mansoor brought up Kaavaalaa and questioned how the song was permitted, adding that the song was awful. Speaking to the press he said, “In a song called Kavaalaa, they stretch their legs like this and show their hands like this and take them all the way down. Kavala, Ra, Ra. I didn’t take anything sexy like that. They won’t listen. They are all manifestations of slavery. It is a very bad movement. It looks like they are putting their hands in their pockets and pushing them down.”

It is noteworthy that the ADMK was wooing Puthiya Thamizhagam (PT), Patali Makkal Katchi (PMK), and the DMDK after snapping ties with the BJP last year. TTV Dinakaran’s AMMK has joined with the BJP to be a part of the NDA and actor Sarath Kumar’s AISMK merged with the BJP on 12 March 2024.

In January 2024, the AIADMK signalled of a possible alliance with the radical Islamist outfit SDPI.

FAQs On Citizenship Amendment Act: A Ready Reckoner To Counter Propaganda Of Leftists, Dravidianists And Their Ilk

1. What is the purpose of CAA 2019?

This Act is meant to primarily heal the wounds of partition and the resulting religious persecution the six communities mentioned in the act had to go through post 1947 in their native countries that was carved out of India. India cannot be a mute spectator to the atrocities committed on the religious minorities in these countries. India, being the natural home to these communities, is morally responsible to welcome them and take roots in our country. Hence, India is bound to confer citizenship to those who trace their origin to India belonging to these communities.

2. Why is the Act drafted along religious line?

Had partition of India had been averted on religious lines, there wouldn’t be a necessity for this bill. The nature of state in Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan is Islamic where the communities mentioned in the bill are persecuted for their religious identity. Hence, the bill is drafted on religious line.

3. Why does the Act not include Muslims?

The three neighbours mentioned in the bill are countries where Islam is the official religion. Afghanistan and Pakistan are Islamic republics where the laws are based on Sharia. Sharia is the law for Muslims. In the land of Muslims, there is no place for kafirs i.e., the non-believers of Islam. The 16% Hindus who were present in Pakistan at the time of the partition either escaped to India or tragically succumbed to the genocide that accompanied partition. Those who could not make it to safety or decided to stay in Pakistan were converted to Islam, killed, or driven away. Although Bangladesh was founded as a secular nation, it is a Muslim majority nation and Article 2A of Bangladesh’s Constitution declares that the state religion of the Republic is Islam. Its lip service to secularism is evident from the decline of Hindu population from 22% in 1951 to 9.5% in 2011.

Nehru and Liaquat signed a pact in 1950 saying that both India and Pakistan would respect and provide equal opportunities to the minorities living in their respective countries. While India has abided by the pact through its secular nature of the Constitution by providing rights
and opportunities to religious minorities and enabling them to lead a meaningful life in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh (East Pakistan in 1950) have blatantly gone against the pact. The fact that the non-believers of Islam in these countries have no basic human rights and are coerced, converted, tortured, killed or driven away is undisputable.

Since the non-believers of Islam in these three Islamic countries have been religiously persecuted, inclusion of Muslim would not only defeat the purpose of the bill but also the existence of Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan as nations as it would challenge the very basis on which these nations were created.

4. Why are Ahmadiyas, Shias, Balochis and Rohingyas not covered under the Act?

This bill which provides for relaxation of provisions for obtaining Indian citizenship through naturalization for the enlisted six communities who face religious persecution in the three Islamic countries should not be mixed with India’s policy towards asylum seekers. India’s refugee policy has always been very clear – to grant asylum to those fleeing persecution until the situation in their native country normalizes. Since the conditions are never likely to be conducive for the six enlisted communities to coexist with the Muslim population in these three countries going by past experiences as well as considering the Islamic character of the state, the Citizenship Act is being amended to expedite the process of obtaining citizenship through naturalization for the non-Muslim population who have entered India till December 31, 2014 from these countries.

Ahmadiyas, Shias, Rohingyas, Tibetans, etc facing persecution in their country are still allowed to enter India and are given asylum. There are many Ahmadiyas, Shias and Rohingyas staying in refugee camps across India. Ahmadiyas and Shias consider themselves to be Muslims and it is the responsibility of these Islamic nations to treat them as equals in their nation. Inclusion of Ahmadiyas, Shias and Balochis would be seen as India’s interference in Pakistan’s domestic affairs. One may ask – won’t India’s decision to provide citizenship to non-Muslim communities from these countries be seen as meddling in their internal affairs? The answer is simple. These countries don’t want kafirs in their land, so they would be rejoicing on India’s decision to grant them citizenship.

With respect to Rohingyas, India’s stance has been clear. They will be granted asylum on humanitarian grounds even though India is not a signatory to the 1951 Refugee Convention, but all measures will be taken to deport them back to where they belong. Rohingyas hail from the Rakhine state in Myanmar. They are seen as Bangladeshi Muslims by Myanmar. It is the responsibility of Myanmar and Bangladesh to provide a durable solution to end their statelessness. Considering there are extremist groups amongst the Rohingyas who resort to violence, India cannot and is not obliged to provide citizenship to the Rohingyas. The CAA 2019 seeks to ease the procedure for obtaining citizenship to religious minorities belonging only to Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan which were separated from India in 1947 and not Myanmar which was separated from British India through the Government of Burma Act 1935.

Those condemning CAA for not providing avenues for citizenship to these communities are either not ready to come to terms with this reality or choose to turn a blind eye to these facts or are simply trying to mislead the public by peddling a hate narrative to further their agenda.

5. So, will an Ahmadiya, Shia, Rohingya, Ismaili, Hazara or any other Muslim be turned away if they seek asylum in India?

According to a Standard Operating Procedure dated 29.12.2011 circulated by the Government of India to all State Governments/ Union Territories any foreign national who claims to be refugee can stay in India on Long Term Visa if it is proved that he/she has been a victim of oppression in his/her native country on account of his/her caste, religion, nationality, ethnic identity, membership of a particular social group or political opinion. Theycan be recommended by the State Government/Union Territory Administration to the Ministry of Home Affairs for grant of Long Term Visa (LTV) after due security verification. A foreigner to whom LTV is permitted by the Ministry of Home Affairs will be allowed to take up any employment in the private sector or to undertake studies in any academic institution. To answer the question – No, they will not be sent back.

6. Is the CAA 2019 against Indian Muslims?

No. The CAB 2019 does not seek to revoke citizenship of Indian Muslims. It does not discriminate against Indian Muslims in any way like it is portrayed to be. Indian Muslims who are citizens of India will not be sent out of India after the CAB is passed. Period.

Manmohan Singh in 2003, in the Rajya Sabha, had asked for a more liberal approach in granting citizenship to minorities who are facing persecution in our Islamic neighbourhood countries. The then Home Minister Shri Lal Krishna Advani fully endorsed Manmohan Singh’s views.

It is a shame on educated people to fall for such half-truths being peddled by the likes of Dravidian dimwits including actor Vijay.

Madras HC Orders Prompt Removal Of Illegal Flagpoles On National Highways; ASP Udhayakumar’s Firm Stand Gains Public Attention & Praise

In a viral video making rounds on social media, ASP Udhayakumar, is being hailed as the real Singham cop from Kanchipuram, garnering applause from both locals and netizens. He was tasked with the duty of removing illegal flagpoles in the Sunguvarchathram bazaar area of Kancheepuram District by the Madras High Court. While carrying out his responsibilities, Sriperumbudur union committee leader Karunanidhi from DMK objected, arguing that flagpoles on the national highway should be targeted instead removing here.

ASP Udhayakumar said “State highways, National Highways all are same sir, what can we do? If you come to me what shall I do, go and file in-juncture in court, you are saying this casually. On Monday, the court will file contempt only on me.

Sriperumbudur union committee leader Karunanidhi neglectfully replied, “Don’t we know the order?

Despite patient explanations from the revenue department and the police showing the court’s order deeming these flagpoles illegal, Karunanidhi remained adamant. In response, ASP Udhayakumar firmly asserted, “I’m doing my job, don’t stop me, sue me if I’m wrong,” He then proceeded to order the removal of the DMK and other flags.

Netizens Praise Cop

Netizens were all praise for the cop who was doing his duty and confronting a member from the ruling party. He also ensured the structure constructed was demolished to ensure fairness.

What Was The Court Order About?

In a petition lodged by Chennai-based attorney Ramalingam with the Madras High Court, that various political parties have unlawfully placed their flags along national highways in Tamil Nadu. This action is purported to pose a threat to public safety, particularly impacting the flow of traffic, including school vehicles and ambulances. Moreover, it is alleged that these political entities have encroached upon land designated for the National Highway, utilizing it as a platform for their political activities.

Through the invocation of the Right to Information Act (RTI), Ramalingam sought information regarding these unlawful flagpoles. In response, the National Highways Authority revealed the presence of 40 such illegal flagpoles across three areas: Chennai-Tada, Koyambedu-Maduravoyal, as well as 34 in Kanchipuram district and 14 in Ranipettai district. Subsequently, the petition calling for the removal of these illegal flagpoles was brought before the bench comprising Chief Justice Sanjay Gangapurwala and Justice Bharatha Chakraborty on 5 March 2024.

During the proceedings, NHAI expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of cooperation from the Tamil Nadu government and the police department in removing these unlawfully erected flagpoles. Consequently, the judges, taking suo moto cognizance of the matter, summoned the Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu as a respondent. They demanded an explanation for the non-cooperation and adjourned the hearing to March 11. Additionally, the judges emphasized that the High Court had previously issued orders for the removal of such flagpoles, warning that failure to comply constituted contempt of court.

On 11 March 2024, the first bench of the Madras High Court, consisting of Chief Justice SV Gangapurwala and Justice D Bharatha Chakravarthy, directed the state police to promptly take action to dismantle unauthorized flagpoles installed by political parties along national highways.

The bench firmly asserted that the installation of illegal flagpoles cannot be tolerated, stressing the necessity for law enforcement agencies to take decisive action against offending political parties. It instructed the state police to swiftly intervene to remove such unauthorized flagpoles. The court also noted the efforts made by NHAI in removing 89 flagpoles from 45 locations, with an additional 40 yet to be dismantled. Furthermore, the court took the initiative to involve the Election Commission of India (ECI) in the case, aiming to explore a lasting solution to the issue.

TN Govt Exempts Linguistic Minorities From Writing Class 10 Tamil Exam For This Year’s Boards

In a significant move, the School Education Department has granted a one-time exemption for linguistic minority students from writing the Tamil language paper under Section I, a compulsory subject, in the Class 10 examination slated for April this year.
The decision, outlined in a Government Order issued on Tuesday, comes in response to requests from institutions run by linguistic minorities. These institutions highlighted the challenges posed by unfilled vacancies for Tamil staff, prompting the department to grant this exemption for the current academic year.

The directive also underscores the department’s insistence on filling these vacancies promptly, ensuring that Tamil exams can resume from the next academic year onwards. Under the terms of the exemption, students from linguistic minority communities who have opted for their mother tongue will now skip the Tamil paper, resulting in a reduction of total exam marks from 600 to 500.

This exemption, clarified by the Tamil Nadu Department of School Education, applies exclusively to non-Tamil linguistic minority students and is valid for one year only. The Government Order, issued by the Secretary of the School Education Department, J. Kumaragurubaran, references the ongoing endeavor to gradually incorporate Tamil into the curriculum across all schools from Class One to Class Ten, starting from the academic year 2006-07. Notably, this law mandates that students appearing for the Class 10 government general examination in 2006 and onwards must undertake the Tamil Part-1 Language test.

However, in response to the plea from the Linguistic Minorities Board, the order makes provision for students whose mother tongue is not Tamil, allowing them to write the exam in their minority mother tongue subject upon applying for exemption.

“Say No To Drugs & Dravidian Parties”: BJP TN Head Annamalai’s Big Attack Ahead Of Lok Sabha Polls

Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai along with his party cadres held a protest against the DMK in light of the recent drug bust involving now-expelled DMK functionary Jaffer Sadiq and the rising seizure of drugs in the state.

Pointing to the T-shirt worn by BJP leader Vinoj P. Selvam which said “Save our children. Say no 2 drugs and DMK. Save our youth”, Annamalai said “I’m telling you, ‘Say No To Drugs and Dravidian Parties’. The D denotes everything right? We don’t need (them). Why are you (hinting at ADMK) staging a drama today? In your (ADMK) regime, the same TASMAC was milked like a cash cow. No one cared about what happened to people, who is dying, who is alive, who is getting ulcers in their guts. That’s not the worry at all. They were worried about whether TASMAC money and the commission is coming“.

Annamalai had criticized the ADMK led by Edappadi K. Palaniswami who along with his party members had carried out at human chain protest against the growing drug menace under the DMK regime.

Those who ruled the state and grew TASMAC are today wearing black shirts and doing protest. There can’t be a bigger injustice than this. The ones in power today are doing mistakes. Let that be on one side. Those who ruled the state (ADMK), are wearing black shirts. Then we’re compelled to ask why did you keep the TASMACs open during your regime? You had 5500 shops.“, he took jibes at the ADMK

He listed down the recent drugs busts that happened and the rampant drug culture prevalent among the youth.

He further said “Today, people are asking the BJP ‘Sir, we voted alternatively for 60 years. All the parties have grown themselves with liquor. Those partymen themselves run breweries. People of those party themselves trade drugs. You say BJP is unique. What are you doing to do differently?’. From 13 March to 20 March, for 7 days, our party will work on the ground to eradicate drugs.

Annamalai said that a special booth committee meeting would be held on 16 March regarding the matter.

He also said that if drugs have to be eradicated in Tamil Nadu, then TASMAC have to be closed.
