CM EPS kickstarts campaign for 2021 Assembly Elections, announces ₹2500 as Pongal bonanza

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami launched the AIADMK’s campaign for the Assembly Elections to be held in May 2021.

The Chief Minister starting the campaign from his hometown Edappadi in Salem announced that the government would give a cash dole of ₹2500 for Pongal to all rice cardholders from January 4.

“Pongal is arriving, the festival of Tamil people. Due to the pandemic and the cyclones, many have lost jobs and their livelihood has been affected, especially of those living in delta regions. Considering all their plight with an aim to make all Tamil people celebrate the Pongal festival in the best possible way, the government has decided to disburse ₹2500 to all the 2.06 crore rice cardholders in the state,” Palanisami said.

Apart from the cash dole, people will also get a Pongal kit comprising of 1 kg of raw rice, 1 kg of sugar, a piece of sugarcane, 20 grams of dry grapes, 20 grams of cashews and five grams of cardamom. People will be given tokens at the doorstep by the authorities and can collect the money and the kit on the date allotted.

During the campaign, CM Palaniswami highlighted the various welfare programmes and schemes rolled out by the government. He also spoke about the investments that the state has pulled and the resulting jobs it would be creating.

“The election will happen in another four months and I need to visit all the 234 constituencies. I could have started my campaign a few days later, but 15 days before, DMK MP Kanimozhi started her campaign in this constituency and placed many false allegations against our government. To give her a befitting reply and to prove her allegations wrong, many AIADMK volunteers requested me to start the election campaign from here early. Edappadi is AIADMK’s fort. From 1977, ever since Puratchithalaivar MGR left the DMK and launched the AIADMK, DMK has never won in this constituency. From being an MLA of this constituency, I have been selected as the Chief Minister. Your affection will always be with us. Not just Kanimozhi, even if all the DMK leaders campaign, they won’t be able to win. In the 2021 assembly election, the AIADMK–led alliance will win the majority of the seats and retain power,” the Chief Minister said.

This woman from Odisha is educating children from tribal communities for free

Mansi Satpathy, a woman from Bhubaneswar, Odisha, has been providing free education to the children of hill people in the state. Nala Basti is located near Rasulgarh in the state of Orissa. It is a village inhabited by tribal communities like with very minimal basic facilities.

Mansi Satpathy, in an interview, had said, “The area is inhabited by tribals who work  mostly as daily wage workers for a living and thus do not have the means to provide education for their children. So, I go to that area every day and teach everyday. I have been doing this for the last 1 year. Currently the children there are learning English, Oriya, General Knowledge and Mathematics.”

“They also have a passion for singing and dancing. I also give them dance classes twice a week. I have been making various efforts to get those kids interested in the course. Even by buying biscuits and chocolates for some kids, I make them read.” she added.

“Modi didn’t even live with his wife for a week, what merits does he have to rule this country?”, rabid anti-Hindu Christian pastor says in the presence of DMK chief

On Friday (December 18), Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leader M.K. Stalin led a ‘hunger strike’ at Valluvar Kottam in Chennai against the recently passed farmer empowerment laws.

Its alliance partners namely Thol. Thirumavalavan’s Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), Congress, Vaiko’s Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK), Communist parties and the Dravida Kazhagam (DK) too participated in the hunger strike, chanting slogans against the Centre and State government.

Rabid Christian evangelist pastor Bishop Ezra Sargunam, who shares close ties with the DMK and is known for his hate speech against Hindus, also took part in the ‘hunger strike’. He had shared stage with DMK chief M.K. Stalin, MDMK chief Vaiko, Manithaneya Makkal Katchi leader Jawahirullah, and other leaders belonging to the opposition parties.

While speaking at the event, Ezra Sargunam said “Whatever we are speaking here, it should echo in Delhi. It should fall in the ears of Modi. He is not going to change his mind anyway. He is a man who has come to loot the country and is doing his job correctly. His duty is to support the four rich men. He doesn’t care about the poor. But he will keep saying ‘I was born poor, I sold tea, I am living my life for the poor’. But friends, he keeps doing exactly the opposite.”.

Adding further he said “Anybody with an iota of fear for God will not go against his conscience. That fellow, though he keeps talking about God is not God fearing! Neither does he fear people. Only if a man had lived with his wife atleast for 5 days would he know the difficulties of everyday life.”

Asking others on the stage to not take him wrong, Ezra Sargunam went on to say “Can’t you live with your wife after marriage even for a week?! What merits do you have to rule this country? This fake man.. We will be facing difficulties like these until this Modi is removed. He doesn’t know any difficulties. Only if he had raised children would he know the difficulties! We don’t even know with whom he lived! We are now stuck with him. Let us all pray to destroy him.”

All these statements were made in the presence of DMK chief M.K. Stalin and other opposition leaders. This speech of Ezra Sargunam has now received severe condemnation on social media.

Ezra Sargunam is know for his vitriolic speech against Hindus. Earlier in 2018, he had asked SDPI (a fanatic Islamic organization) to go all out against Hindus who are questioning them in the light of the murder of PMK functionary Ramalingam who had opposed Islamic conversions. He had promised support to Vaiko, Thirumavalavan and M.K.Stalin if they undertook this endeavour.

He had said that there was nothing called the Hindu religion and instigated Christians to punch Hindus in the face and make them bleed if they did not recognize the truth.

Several complaints have been made against him on different occasions from different quarters. However, no action has been taken against him so far.

This old man from Madurai has converted an abandoned phone booth into his home

A 75-year-old man from Madurai, has been living inside a telephone booth for 10 years, having converted it into his home

Kasthurirangan is a 75 year old resident of KK Nagar, Madurai and is physically challenged. In 1988, the Government of Tamil Nadu gave permission to him to run a free telephone booth under the reservation for the physically challenged through which he earned his bread and used the money to raise his son as well. His wife Sundari had died due to ill health. His only son Balamurugan had however married a woman and abandoned him leaving him in lurch. Since then, Kasturi Rangan has been living in solitude in a roadside telephone booth.

With mobile phones taking over the lives of the people, Kasturirangan’s phone booth became obsolete and went completely out of business. After, he closed the telephone booth and converted it into his home. In that cramped space, Kasturirangan has adorned the walls with photos of Lord Ram, Goddess Amman, Lord Vinayagar, Goddesses Saraswati, Sage Ramana Maharishi and many more.

His livelihood currently runs entirely on the government’s old-age pension. Some of the neighbors have been helping by giving food, clothing and small necessities from time to time.

“No one comes to the shop to talk on the phone due to the arrival of cell phones. I’m living in this telephone booth. I get the water from the street tap for bathing and other things. I request the Government of Tamil Nadu to help better my situation.” Kasturirangan was quoted saying in Polimer News.

The Chinese hand in the Wistron vandalism is glaring

Companies shifting from China to India has been a great cause of alarm for the Communist country. Thanks to the strained trade relations that have been affecting China’s economy, it has been losing many of its manufacturing facilities. More and more companies are shifting to India and making it their Asian manufacturing base. This has clearly not boded well with China.

In its own back handed way, China has been trying to drive iPhone manufacturing giant Wistron out from India and is trying to repeat history like it did with Sterlite. It is to be noted that Wistron, along with several other iPhone part manufacturers, had been based in Taiwan until early in 2020.

Wistron, which set up an iPhone manufacturing unit in Karnataka’s Kolar district, increased the number of employees from 2,000 in June to 12,000 in October. Operations had also scaled up in the last few months. But, the company’s manufacturing unit was attacked on Saturday morning with many unidentified people infiltrating under the guise of employees.

This sudden attack on the facility raised serious doubts about the Communist Party’s involvement after the Karnataka police arrested a local president of Students’ Federation of India (SFI) – a student body of Communist Party of India in connection with the violence.

According to the local police, Srikanth, the taluk (tehsil) President of the SFI, is said to have coordinated the  violence. He had apparently circulated WhatsApp messages to instigate the workers. The police had arrested Srikanth for investigation were quoted saying in media reports “Srikanth was detained. We are questioning his involvement in instigating the violence and also bringing in people outside of the company’s employees into the plant which was vandalized,” the police said. However, Srikanth was later released by the police.

It is to be noted that the Communist Party-linked trade unions like All India Central Council of Trade Unions (AICCTU), a trade union arm of Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) (Liberation), has already started their activities claiming to be batting for workers’ rights. They are leaving no stone unturned to prove that entire episode is revolt by the workers due to the non-payment of salary.

The company’s current pay scale has actually been well above India’s average wage for unskilled manufacturers. It pays ₹ 22,000 for an eight hour shift per worker. Several employees of the organization note that the working environment is also very conducive.

What leads to the conclusion of Chinese hand at play after a journalist from the Chinese Communist Party mouthpiece put out a tweet.

“This is a potential risk when manufacturers consider moving their production lines out of #China where they have the most stable labour market supporting the nation to become the largest manufacturing hub. Does Terry Gou from #Foxconn, regret about moving those #iPhone lines to #India,” tweeted Qingqing Chen, a reporter of Global Times, the mouthpiece of Chinese Communist Party.

As previously exposed by The Commune, the Chinese media house Xinhua has already put the wheels in motion in terms of influencing major trade decisions in other countries of the world by tying up with the media outlets in the respective countries. In this case, several global media giants have come out most of the international media portals, many of which receive billions of dollars from CCP and its affiliate companies in the advertisement, were quick to pick up the story. The news spread like wildfire in the global media and many financial newspapers like Bloombergthe New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal picked up the story instantly. Apple too announced a probe in the matter and dispatched a team to investigate the incident.

There is a clear case to substantiate the fact Communists (both from within India and from China) are indeed at the helm of the attack trying to malign India’s image as a safe manufacturing destination.

The doctor who established a cemetery for dead pets

Dr. Tin Hoodun Nying, a doctor from Myanmar has set up a separate cemetery for pets at his home.  He has been raising a dog as his pet since 2000 which died in 2015. Since, the pets that die there are usually thrown in a dump or in a river, he looked for a place to give a decent burial to the dog.

But since he found no place, he bought his own piece of land in the middle of the city and built a grave for his pet there. He also accommodated those who wanted to build a cemetery for pets at the site.

The cemetery now has more than 300 pets including the country’s famous police sniffer dog that died recently. Although a majority in the cemetery are dog tombs, there are tombs for some cats and one for a rabbit as well.

The cemetery is currently maintained by his family. There is a charge of US $ 70 (₹5,000 in Indian currency) for burying pets there. The doctor who set up the cemetery has now won appreciations on social media.
