DMK chief MK Stalin peddles lies in gram sabha meeting on Gandhi Jayanti, gets caught red handed

MK Stalin DMK land scam

At a time when the Wuhan Virus cases that is getting reported in the state has been showing signs of flattening, the Tamil Nadu government to prevent its spread in villages ordered for the cancellation of gram sabha meeting to be held on Gandhi Jayanti.

However, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) in many places flouted the government’s order with the party chief MK Stalin, DMK MP Kanimozhi, the party’s general secretary Duraimurugan and other MPs, MLAs, and office bearers holding gram sabha meetings at various places.

In many places, people turned up in very few numbers with empty chairs strewn around. In order to ensure that the chairs are filled, the DMK resorted to enticing poor people with money to turn up to these gram sabha meetings. One of the DMK MLAs was caught distributing cash to women members in Aruppukotai region.

DMK President MK Stalin held a gram sabha meeting at his constituency – Korattur. During his speech the DMK chief mentioned that back when Dr. M.G.R was Chief Minister of the state, farmers had protested to reduce electricity tariff by ‘1 paisa’. He went on to say that police had resorted to firing at the protestors that resulted in the death of 3 farmers.

The truth is that the farmer protests against the hike of electricity tariff by 1 paisa did happen. But it happened in June 1970 in Coimbatore district when the DMK was in power. Three farmers – Ramaswamy, Marappan and Aai were killed in the police firing. M. Karunanidhi was the Chief Minister from February 10, 1969 to January 5, 1971.

However, netizens were quick enough to point out the blatant lie peddled by the DMK chief thanks to internet.

The AIADMK launched a scathing attack on the DMK and its leader Stalin for putting people’s life at risk and also for using the opportunity to mislead people by spreading lies.

Speaking on the matter, AIADMK spokesperson Mr. Kovai Sathyan said that the gram sabha meeting held by the DMK was not just a nefarious attempt to spread the pandemic among people so that they can play politics over it but is also being used for spreading lies among the people at the grassroots. He said that the DMK’s ploy to use the gram sabha to spread lies came out in the open with the party chief’s statements about MGR rule adding that it was an attempt to whitewash the brutal crimes committed by the DMK regime.

Mr. Sathyan mentioned that the DMK’s desperate attempt to woo people and turn them against the government will not work. He also said that the low turnout of these gram sabha proceedings showed the amount of trust that the people have in DMK and its leadership adding that this is just a feeler of what is going to happen in 2021 Assembly elections.

NASA launches cargo spacecraft named after Kalpana Chawla

NASA recently launched a cargo spacecraft named after Kalpana Chawla, the first India-born woman to enter space. SS Kalpana Chawla was launched from NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia. Northrop Grumman launched its capsule to the International Space Station (ISS). The Cygnus vehicle S.S Kalpana Chawla along with Antares rocket for NG-14 mission was launched on October 2nd, at 21.16 EDT (6.46 am IST).

Northrop Grumman further affirmed that they wanted to name their next Cygnus vehicle after someone who has played an instrumental role in space exploration and then decided to name it after Kalpana Chawla on her family’s permission. This spacecraft contains agricultural supplies for the astronauts as well as spacewalking essentials.

Robyn Gatens, acting director of the International Space Station at NASA headquarters, said that the flight is carrying 6,000 pounds of cargo including refined radishes and a 3D camera, that’s going to go on the outside of the space station to take images when the crew is doing a spacewalk.

This spacecraft has an estimated travel time of 2 days and is expected to deliver a cargo of 1,217 kg of science experiments, personal items and 850 kg of crew equipment to the International Space Station.

IS’ ploy to conduct terror activities in the forests of South India exposed

Al Hind, an offshoot of the Islamic State terror outfit, has been plotting to form a ISIS Daishwilayah (province) in the forests of South India like Sathyamangalam in Tamil Nadu and Shivasamudra in Karnataka according to the July chargesheet filed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) against 17 members of the module. Following a tip-off to the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), they had been scouring the forests of South India for any kind of terror activities. They recently nabbed Mahboob Pasha, whose office has been serving as the headquarters for terrorist activities in countries like Iraq and Syria. The investigation report for the same was filed recently.

It was revealed upon investigation that the Al-Hind Organisation had been researching about zeroing in on the appropriate region to conduct their activities and had camped in Shivasamudra in Karnataka. They had been practicing archery and training the recruits on bomb-making, ammunition and attacking mechanisms.

The 20-member module, led by Bengaluru-based Mehboob Pasha and Cuddalore based Khaja Moideen even bought books on famous sandalwood smuggler and dacoit Veerappan who successfully dodged the police of several states for many years.

Khaja Moideen even sold his inherited land in Cuddalore and gave an amount of ₹5 lakh to buy jungle survival and training items. In its chargesheet the NIA stated that on the directions of Khaja Moideen, module members procured tents, rain coats, ropes, jungle boots, ladders, pulleys, sleeping bags, bows and arrows, knives, arms and ammunitions, as well as large quantity of firecrackers and sparklers with an intention to extract explosive content from them for making powerful IEDs.

The terror outfit members practiced Kung Fu and Taekwondo at the Al-Hind Trust’s premises. The module members also participated in anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC) protests in different cities, on the directions of Pasha.

It was also revealed that they had been planning to establish safe houses in Coorg and Kolar in Karnataka, Jambusaar in Gujarat, Siliguri and Bardwan in West Bengal, Ratnagiri in Maharashtra and Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh. There were also several pieces of evidence recovered, which pointed to their plans to assassinate several Hindu leaders, politicians, government officers and then retreat to these forests.

The Al-Hind module, operated from the Al-Hind Trust office of Pasha in Guruppanpalya, Bengaluru, which was unearthed by agencies in January 2020 with multiple raids in Delhi, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Moideen was arrested in 2014 in connection with the murder of a Hindu leader KP Suresh Kumar in Tamil Nadu but was released on bail in July 2019. Since then, he had been in touch with Pasha to create a new module, the NIA said.

All India Imams Council threatens to desecrate Ram Mandir and turn Ayodhya into Kaaba

The All India Imams Council has threatened to desecrate the idols in the Ramjanmabhoomi in Ayodhya and turn it into Kaaba, in a provocative speech made during a march to the Office of the Accountant General in Thiruvananthapuram . This video went viral on social media.

State vice-president Fatehuddin Rashadi, had threatened during his speech that if it was possible in Kaaba, where they had destroyed the temples to make it the home of Allah, it was doable in Ayodhya as well. He added that they would then arrange for Khutbah to be performed there. He also states that they will organise Namaz after transforming temple into a mosque.

“Kaaba is evidence for this. If it happened in Kaaba where over 3000 idols were deracinated, the same can happen in Ayodhya also. All those idols were thrown away and Kaaba became the home of Allah overnight,” he said, adding that the same would happen in Ayodhya also.

The All India Imams Council is an outfit of the radical Islamist organization Popular Front of India. It is being demanded that a case should be filed against him under the National Security Act.

500,000 sharks at the risk of being killed for making COVID vaccine

As the entire world struggles to grapple with the COVID-19 pandemic, the search for a vaccine could lead to new threat with the consideration of shark squalene as a potential antidote for the infection. Shark conservationists like Shark Allies fear that this could lead to the killing of at least half a million sharks all over the world. The advocacy group has expressed concern that the killing of lakhs of sharks will do irreversible damage to the oceanic ecosystem.

Notably, most of the commercial vaccines use squalene, a component of some adjuvants, that are added to vaccines to enhance the immune response. It is estimated that at least 2500 to 3000 sharks are to be slaughtered to make one tonne of squalene.

In the wake of this, a petition with the title ‘Stop Using Sharks in COVID-19 Vaccine – Use EXISTING Sustainable Options’ has been filed on Change.org against using sharks for the vaccine. Over 44,000 people have filed the petition so far.

This source is a cause of alarm not just for sharks, but for humans as well, because it could potentially cause irreparable damage to the marine ecosystem as well as because it is an exhaustible resource and could not work as a cure in the longer run.

Indian Army constructs a memorial to honour the martyrs of the Galwan valley attacks

The Indian Army has constructed a memorial commemorating the sacrifices of the soldiers who had been martyred in the Galwan valley attacks. The memorial has come up at ‘KM-120’, a point near the confluence of the Galwan and Shyok rivers in honour of the martyrs who lost their life fighting the Chinese Army.

Earlier, the names of all the 20 Indian soldiers were inscribed on the pillar of the National War Memorial and pictures of the same have been released by the Army.

On June 15, soldiers of the Peoples Liberation Army (PLA) ambushed at the Galwan Valley in which 20 Indian soldiers, including Colonel B Santosh Babu, the commanding officer of the 16 Bihar regiment were martyred. The Indian Army fought with the Chinese army for hours in unarmed combat and inflected a very high death toll on the PLA. The incident significantly escalated the border tension in eastern Ladakh with India calling it “a premeditated and planned action by China”.

Following this, there were talks of disengagement between the External Affairs Ministries of both countries, and both the armies have disengaged from the Galwan area where a violent faceoff happened on the intervening night of June 15 and 16. 20. The casualties on the Chinese side based on Indian intercepts have been placed at 43.

‘Up we go’: Pinarayi’s PR curve falls flat as much hyped Kerala Model loses sheen, state leads in active ratio of Wuhan virus cases

“We kept on moving.. moving moving.. showed no signs of slowing down.. up, up, up we go!”

In July of this year, a music video titled ‘Up We Go’ was released as the ‘Kerala Anthem’ as a tribute to the much hyped “Kerala Model”. In the video, Kerala Chief Minister Comrade Pinarayi Vijayan is shown leading the way with Comrade ‘Coronavirus Slayer’ KK Shailaja behind him and others like Congress MP Shashi Tharoor following.

The Kerala Anthem | Official Music Video | Up We Go | A tribute to the Crisis Management Warriors - YouTube

The video shows how KK Shailaja and the Pinarayi government in Kerala have been leading the fight against the Wuhan Virus flashing pictures of articles from the Al Jazeera, Huff Post, The Guardian, etc.

Ever since the pandemic started spreading its tentacles across the country, KK Shailaja was elevated to the status of a messiah by a few media houses both inside and outside the country. In May 2020, BBC interviewed KK Shailaja on Kerala’s success story in containing the Chinese virus.

In this interview, the ‘corona slayer’ made several factually incorrect statements while responding to a question about number of COVID19 deaths and even called the Goa state, a Union Territory.

She belittled the efforts of other states like Goa in the interview saying that it had no hospitals to which Goa CM Dr. Pramod Sawant gave a strongly worded response in a series of tweets. He mentioned that Goa has outstanding healthcare facilities with Goa Medical College being one of the oldest and finest medical colleges in Asia, where for decades, large numbers of non-Goan patients from neighbouring states were getting treatment and also corrected Minister Shailaja that Goa is a full-fledged state and not a Union Territory.

All self-proclaimed experts and journalists started carrying stories about ‘how Kerala fought the virus’. The India Today went to the extent of conferring the award for Best State combating COVID19

After floating in the air amidst the hollow adulations, the ‘rock star’ Health Minister has finally landed coming to the grips of reality. Over the past few weeks the Kerala has been seeing a spike in the number of Wuhan virus cases. The state recorded over 1,20,000 cases in September alone. 8135 cases were reported on a October 1 alone.

As things stand today, Kerala has the second highest number of cases being reported per day. It ranks third in the number of patients undergoing treatment and has the highest in the active cases ratio in the entire country.

The state has now imposed Section 144 across the state with the rising pandemic.

Earlier, the ‘rock star’ Health Minister KK Shailaja had said that she expected the cases to rise at a pace of 10,000-20,000 per day.

However, the PR agents of Pinarayi who were glorifying Comrades Pinarayi and KK Shailaja and the so called success of the ‘left politics’ and “Kerala Model” have now gone on mute.

The lines from the music video ‘Up We Go’ – “We kept on moving.. moving moving.. showed no signs of slowing down.. up, up, up we go!”  – with the picture of Comrades leading the way has now gained an ironical twist.

Farmers to plant 1.16 lakh trees over a week to mark 151st birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi

To commemorate the 151st birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, farmers across Tamil Nadu launched a week-long plantation drive in which 1.16 lakh saplings will be planted on 285 acres in 23 districts of the state as part of the Isha’s Cauvey Calling drive. The high-value timber saplings will be planted in private farmlands.

The week-long plantation drive will happen in more than 50 locations in 23 districts including Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Salem and Madurai among others. Events were held in some of the districts to launch the drive. In Salem, the Salem South AIADMK MLA Thiru. AB Sakthivel participated as a special guest. A similar event in Ariyalur district was graced by DMK MLA from Thiruvaiyaru Thiru. Durai Chandrasekaran. Amma District Collector Thiru. Jayakanthan participated in an event held at Kalaiyarkovil, Sivagangai District.

Volunteers from Cauvery Calling initiative joined farmers in planting saplings at various locations. Teak, Sandalwood and Mahogany are some of the most popular high-value species. Farmers are expected to plant a minimum of 400 trees and a maximum of 10,000 trees on their farmlands.

The first plantation drive was launched in Ariyalur district on 30th September. A similar drive was organized by Cauvery Calling volunteers last month in which farmers across Tamil Nadu planted 1.26 lakh trees in memory of Maram Thangasamy, one of Tamil Nadu’s most respected farmers.

The drives are being organized in the first planting season since the launch of the Cauvery Calling movement last September. Till date over 83 lakh saplings have been planted by farmers on their farmlands in the Cauvery river basin spanning Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

UN should free itself of Beijing’s shackles to support democracy in China, say global pro-democracy activists

A group of pro-democracy activists and human rights defenders have called for the United Nations and its institutions that are currently kept in shackles by Beijing to free themselves and support democracy in China.

As Communist China celebrated its National Day on Oct. 1, the activists, with varied background from North America, Europe and Asia, came on a single platform under the aegis of New Delhi-based think-tank ‘Law and Society Alliance’ and ‘Defence Capital’ to ask all democratic nations and international human rights organisations to unite against the repressive Chinese Communist party (CCP) regime in Beijing.

London-based Inter-Parliamentary Alliance coordinator Luke De Pulford said human rights and law-based world order is the responsibility of all nations globally and argued that the rules-based order has come under a severe threat from the Communist Party of China.

Expressing his disgust at the ongoing persecution in China of Tibetans, Uighurs and Mongolians, Pulford said it has led to a severe human rights crisis and genocide, which are extremely serious.

“In Hong Kong, we see that the CCP has completely destroyed an international treaty and displayed a flagrant disregard for it and the people of Hong Kong,” he said.

Luke de Pulford said he was concerned over China holding the United Nations in shackles. “The CCP has strategically rolled out an effort to undertake initiatives of the UN leading to the dependency of the UN agencies on the CCP and coming under it. Currently, at least 15 UN organisations and bodies are being headed by the Chinese nationals. These are huge and important institutions. This is obstructing these agencies to speak up against China.”

He said, “UN institutions do not question China the way they should. Hence, neither the genocide and extermination of Uighurs cannot reach the UN agencies, nor a tribunal could be formed on this. Neither is it possible at the UN Security Council, as it would be vetoed by China. Every attempt at the UNHRC to raise human rights record of China, it falls down due Chinese clout there.”

Former Union Minister and Arunachal Pradesh MLA Ninong Ering said the world has now realised that coming together of all democracies is indeed necessary to tackle Communist China, the biggest threat to world peace. “The Communist Party of China is the antithesis to the idea pluralistic democracy,” he said.

“There is a need for people’s movement against China. I urge all the trade unions and farmers’ organisations of the world to come together to constitute an alliance for fighting China – similar to the IPAC. from all over the world.”

Ajmer-Sharif Dargah’s guardian-trustee and Chishty Foundation chairman Syed Salman Chishty argued China’s subversive and oppressive policies towards its own citizens and the people of the occupied lands is of serious concern to the global community. Its series of acts and defiance of international bodies and community too is worrisome. He expressed his support to the activists for their global pro-democracy campaign for China.

Chishty called for the world leaders and global bodies like the UN to re-emphasise their stated goals of world peace and intervene by launched a pro-democracy movement for China. “The UN bodies really need to stand up against this repressive regime. However, UN member-states do not exhibit a realistic approach towards China.”

Toronto-based Canadian Coalition against Communism vice president Sheng Xue lay the responsibility for the global spread of the Coronavirus on Communist China. “But the real virus was the birth of the CCP years ago and the CCP virus has now become more dangerous.”

She said Xi Jinping had offended more people globally and this could be a reason for change that will take place in Communist China soon. “Lives of the oppressed and suppressed Uighurs, Mongolians, Tibetans, and Chinese are the worst in the world. They are not even able to fight back against CCP.”

Sheng said globally, nations were not looking at the persecution of the people inside China, as they only saw CCP’s money. “The Coronavirus has led to global focus on China and what is going on inside Communist China. It has provided a chance for people to investigate what is happening inside China. Let us leverage on this opportunity.”

New York-based Southern Mongolian Human Rights Information Center director Togochog said at least 100,000 Mongolians were killed due to persecution and torture in occupied Mongolian region and have suffered economic degradation, as farming and use of grasslands were prohibited and people displaced.

“They have forcibly transported the entire Mongolian population out of their own lands by making living on grasslands a crime and herders have been imprisoned for earning their living by using their own grasslands. The nomadic lives of the people have been wiped out.”

He said the Mongolians, for their language rights, launched a civil disobedience movement, the largest in Communist China till date after the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests. “Mass arrests and enforced disappearances have become common practices. At least 5,000 southern Mongolians have either been detained or disappeared in the past month alone. Southern Mongolians shall keep fighting, ultimately to free their land, practice their language, and determine their political future,” Togochog said.

Geneva-based The Tibet Bureau special appointee for human rights Thinlay Chukki said Communist China celebrating their 71st foundation day after persecution of 1.2 million Tibetans and the destruction of 6,000 monasteries. “They are working towards the total sinicisation of Tibetans. Tibet was never a part of China. PRC is only one-fifth of the territory it currently occupies.”

Chukki said there were no human rights left under the universal declaration of the UN that has not been breached by Communist China against the Tibetans. She said history was repeating itself, and cited the example of the CCP breaching its Hong Kong agreement with the British government, just as the 17-point agreement was signed at the gunpoint and later on breached by CCP, leading to Dalai Lama fleeing and seeking refuge in India.

She said China is a threat to the idea of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”, a lofty Indian ideal of the world being one family. “When India sees the world, it sees it as a global society. Whereas, when China sees the world, it sees it as a big colony. It is always focusing on colonisation. What is happening with Hambantota (Sri Lanka), with Pakistan, and with Myanmar? The Belt and Road Initiative is nothing but a weapon – a strategy to colonise the world.”

New York-based World Uyghur Congress director for Chinese affairs Ilshat Kokbore said around 3,000,000 Uighurs have been kept under concentration camps. “Since 2000, the CCP government began detaining and disappearing the elites and opinion-makers of the Uighur society including university professors, students, poets, writers, singers, and artists.”

“It is a holocaust in itself. After the holocaust by the Nazis, the UN promised that it shall never happen again. However, this is happening again under the CCP, which is celebrating its success. But this comes at the cost of the blood of tens of thousands of Uighurs, Mongolians, and Tibetans.”

He said, “the CCP is infiltrating the US, Europe, and India. They are trying to control all the resources. This ambition of dominating the world is explosive. In 1940, politicians hardly believed that the Chinese Communists were different from the Russian Communists. In fact, they all failed to see that CCP turned out to be even worse than the Nazis.”

New-Delhi-based Swadeshi Jagran Manch national co-convenor Ashwani Mahajan said the CCP conspired against the rules-based economic order under WTO and took advantage of the transparency of other signatory nations under WTO. With this knowledge, CCP began subsidising its exports and dumping good globally, leading to de-industrialistaion of all their trading partners – including US, Europe, and India.

“The economic clout China has got is preventing democratic countries from speaking against it. It was for the first time under President Trump that the US challenged the Chinese hegemony and the tariff wars began with China,” Mahajan said.

“But the opportunity has come. The whole world is against China. This is the time that we push against the Chinese economic aggression on one hand and Chinese hegemony on the other.”

Nirbhay subsonic cruise missile ready to be formally inducted

India is all set to formally induct the Nirbhay subsonic cruise missile into the Indian Army and Navy. This new weapons platform will prove to be a gamechanger and there are reports that India has moved a limited number of the missiles to the Line of Actual Control LAC) to give the Chinese PLA a movement of pause.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh who heads the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) has cleared the formal induction of the Nirbhay subsonic missile.

After the seventh trial scheduled next month, the Nirbhay missiles with a range of 1,000 km powered by solid rocket booster that has a single shot kill ratio of more than 90 per cent will be inducted.

However, the last test seems just a formality as it has already been deployed to defend the LAC against China.

Developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Hindustan Times has reported that India also test-fired an extended-range BrahMos surface-to-surface supersonic cruise missile. It has a range of 400 km capable of hitting any target with great accuracy and precision.

The Nirbhay missile can travel at a speed of 0.7 Mach and has both terrain-hugging and sea-skimming capability which makes it very difficult for enemy radar to locate and use their counter-measures.

With the success of Nirbhay cruise missile and the Wednesday’s testing of the 400-km range BrahMos missiles, India is on its way to having its next class of supersonic long-range tactical cruise missile.

The new missile will have a better circular error of probability than the BrahMos and will carry a heavier conventional warhead to destroy airbases and ships.

“The new class of cruise missile will have a solid rocket booster along with supersonic speed using SFDR technology. The range of missiles can be decided on the basis of mission objectives,” said an Indian missile expert.
