Madhya Pradesh to set up a ‘Gau cabinet’ to protect cows

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan government has decided to set up a ‘Gau cabinet’ for the conservation of cow and its progeny.

“A decision has been taken to establish a ‘cabinet’ for the protection and promotion of cattle in the state. Departments of Animal Husbandry, Forest, Panchayat and Rural Development, Revenue, Home and Farmers Welfare Department will be included in the Gau Cabinet,” Chouhan tweeted.

On “Gopashtami”, November 22, the first meeting of the ‘Gau cabinet’ will be held at 12 noon at the Cow Sanctuary in Agar Malwa district.

This decision comes in the wake of BJP government in Uttar Pradesh, led by Yogi Adityanath, who had approved a similar ordinance earlier this year to prevent cow slaughter in the state.

However, details of how the new Gau Cabinet in Madhya Pradesh will function and the responsibilities entrusted to is yet unknown.

It is also pertinent to note that Cow Sanctuary in Agar-Malwa district was India’s first cow sanctuary which was set up by the BJP-led Madhya Pradesh government in September 2017.

CM Chouhan in 2018, had announced the formation of ‘Cow Ministry’ for the welfare of cows and his government’s commitment to the protection and well-being and had also announced a ‘Cow Express“-an emergency healthcare service on wheels for ailing cattle.

The proposed amendment in the ordinance passed by the UP cabinet included a penal provision of imprisonment ranging from one year to ten years for physical damage to the cow and fine from Rs one lakh to Rs three lakh in cases related to cow slaughter.

What goes around comes around: ‘Go Back Stalin’, ‘Japan Deputy CM’, ‘2G thieves’, ‘corrupt bandicoots’, ‘Moolapathiram’ adorn the walls of Nagapattinam

Recently, V. Senthil Balaji who is now with the DMK had put up ‘Go Back Modi’ graffitis on walls across Karur. This had become a major issue with Annamalai issuing a warning against the DMK to take off the graffitis.

In a public meeting organized by the BJP Tamil Nadu in Karur, the former IPS officer had said that the ‘Go Back Modi’ graffitis which have been put at the behest of DMK’s Senthil Balaji should be taken off by DMK members themselves before 24th November 2020. He warned that failing to do so will result in BJP cadres replacing them with ‘Anju Katchi Ammavasai’ (a sly dig at Senthil Balaji’s swinging between DMK and AIADMK 5 times) and ‘Sudalai Raja’ (a comical reference to DMK chief MK Stalin).

Following Annamalai’s warning, it was found that the ‘Go Back Modi’ graffitis in Karur had been erased.

Meanwhile in Nagapattinam, the DMK had not taken off the ‘Go Back Modi’ graffitis on the walls following which BJP cadres belonging to the district painted it with phrases critical of the DMK.

‘2G thieves’, ‘corrupt bandicoots’, ‘CCTV’, ‘₹200’, ‘Moolpathiram’ ‘Japan’s Deputy Chief Minister’, ‘Go Back Stalin’ have been painted in place of the ‘Go Back Modi’ graffiti.

These images have now gone viral on social media with many stating that the DMK is now getting a taste of its own medicine.

Kerala: Twenty years of persecution by CPI(M) forces Scheduled Caste woman to convert to Islam

In Kerala, a Scheduled Caste woman auto driver named Chithra Lekha hailing from Kannur district has announced that she would be converting to Islam due to alleged constant caste discrimination by the ruling Communist Party of India (Marxist).

Chitra Lekha made this startling announcement through a Facebook post on November 16. In her Facebook post she said that she was constantly targeted because of her caste by the ruling CPM party and had lost all hopes of getting justice from the government or the courts.

Chithra Lekha had earlier alleged that CPM workers subjected her to constant discrimination. She had survived a murder attack and her auto was set on fire which the party never condemned.

She wrote about her constant struggle against the CPM’s caste discrimination for the 20 years and said that in order to escape the persecution she was converting to Islam.

She got so tired and disillusioned that she could not continue any longer and did not want to live under the fear of the CPM whom she called a hypocrite secular party.

Chithra Lekha was allotted some land and money for a house by the previous UDF government, however, the CPM government cancelled the land allotted to her and refused the allotted money. Her protest in front of the Collectorate office also fell on deaf ears and the government did not change its decision.

Pakistan’s deep state asset, LeT chief and 26/11 mastermind Hafiz Saeed sentenced to 10 years on charges of terrorism

A Pakistani anti-terrorism court has sentenced chief of Jamat-ud-Dawa and the banned Islamic terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba Hafiz Saeed to 10-year imprisonment in two more terror cases.

Hafiz Saeed was the terror mastermind behind the 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attack that led to the death of 166 civilians and security personnel.

The court verdict comes just days before the 12th anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. As per reports, Saeed is being held in the Lahore’s high-security Kot Lakhpat jail after he was sentenced to 11 years in jail by an anti-terrorism court in February 2020 in two terror financing cases.

Hafiz Saeed is an UN-designated terrorist and the United Stated has even placed on $10 million bounty on him and the US Treasury Department had designated Saeed as a “Specially Designated Global Terrorist”.

Pakistan has been on the FATF grey list for a long time and it is possible that the conviction of Saeed could reduce some of the pressure of Pakistan. However, many experts believe without the army approval such decisions are simply not possible.

Chidambaram joins chorus of Congress leaders critical of party performance in recent polls, Adhir says dissenters can leave

After the Indian National Congress suffered another electoral defeat in the recently concluded Bihar assembly elections, there is growing apprehension within the senior party leadership with regards to the future course of action.

On Wednesday (November 18) Chidambaram, one of the senior leaders in Congress party joined the ranks of functionaries critical of the party’s performance with an indirect reference to Rahul Gandhi lack of leadership and presence in the party.

Chidambaram said, “I’m more worried about the bypoll results in Gujarat, MP, UP and Karnataka. These results show that the party either has no organisational presence on the ground or has been weakened considerably,”.

In his comments, Chidambaram said: “In Bihar, RJD-Congress had a chance of winning. Why we lost despite being so close to victory is something that needs comprehensive review. Remember, not long ago Congress had won Rajasthan, MP, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.”

The remark coming from Chidambaram carries a lot of weight as he is one of the senior insiders within the party. Also, there is ramblings and echoes of dissident after the controversy over the letter that was written in August, that led to the resignation of Rahul Gandhi from the position of party president.

However, leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha and senior Congressmen Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said, “If some leaders think Congress is not the right party for them, then they may set up a new party or can join any other party that they think is progressive and according to their interest. But they should not indulge in such embarrassing activities since it can erode the credibility of Congress.”

The interim president of Congress, Sonia Gandhi who many say will have the final word over who will become the next president AICC has the tough task to not only quell the growing dissident in the central leadership but also faces tough questions from state functanaries who are suffering from lack of strong leadership.

Chidambaram called for the need to work on the organisational strength on the ground and said shared the views expressed by some RJD members that Congress contested more seats than its capacity in Bihar.

It must also be noted that the Congress party performance was abysmal in the recently concluded bypoll elections in many states, particularly in Madhya Pradesh.

Dear Suriya, please spare us your wokeness and hypocrisy

Even though actor Suriya never misses a chance for on-screen activism against caste identities, documents reveal that he officially uses his community name, Rakkia Gounder Sivakumar Suriya. This apparent hypocrisy raises questions about the integrity of actors who virtue signal publicly while maintaining practices they denounce in private.

Heroes Practice What They Preach

It is true that there is little or no connection between the reel and the real lives of actors in the film industry. M.N. Nambiar, who played negative roles and came across as a cruel villain on-screen, was a righteous man who upheld the highest standards of morals and ethics in his real life.

But today, some actors consider themselves heroes both on and off-screen, virtue signalling their wokeness by mouthing dialogues in front of a camera or whenever they get hold of a mike,  turn out to be hypocrites of the highest order. What they preach and do directly contradicts who they are and what they do in real life.

Suriya is one such fine actor in this league.

In his recent release “Soorarai Pottru”, a mischievous distortion of the story of Captain G.R. Gopinath, Suriya who is shown as an ‘anti-caste’ and a ‘socialist’ capitalist (God knows what that is!) utters the dialogue “I want to break the cost barrier and the damn caste barrier too!”.

There is nothing wrong with this dialogue per se. However, we need to call out Suriya for uttering this line.

Rakkia Gounder Sivakumar Suriya

Actor Suriya Sivakumar is not only an actor but is also a producer.  He runs two companies – one ‘2D Entertainment Private Limited’ and the other ‘Rakkia Cinemas Private Limited and is one of the directors of both the companies. The film “Soorarai Pottru” was produced under his ‘2D Entertainment’.

In both these companies, actor Suriya’s name is recorded in the documents as “Rakkia Gounder Sivakumar Suriya” while his brother Karthi Sivakumar who is one of the directors of Rakkia Cinemas does not have his community attached to his name.

Directors of 2D Entertainment Pvt Ltd

Directors of Rakkia Cinemas Pvt Ltd

So, Rakkia ‘Gounder’ Sivakumar Suriya is a producer of Soorarai Pottru in which actor Suriya flirts with ‘EVR-ism’.

Starting a production company and making movies through that company is a profession and is no crime. Having one’s community name as surname is also not a crime as no legal book prohibits one from doing so. But what is criminal, utterly dishonest and morally wrong is to mint money by claiming to ‘eradicate caste’ on screen while clandestinely having one’s caste name behind the scenes.

For someone who has of late been leaving no opportunity to radiate wokeness espousing ‘social justice’ and standing against ‘Manu NEEThi’, it would do himself good to walk the talk. Else, it is better if one doesn’t do the talk and just goes about his work.

Now it would be easy to brush it off saying ‘Rakkia Gounder’ is his grandfather’s name and not his. He could have simple mentioned ‘Rakkia’ while registering. Surya could have simply registered his name in the records of his company without mentioning the caste name. That way, it would be justified if he takes these politically correct positions against caste in public.

Instead, putting ‘Rakkia Gounder Sivakumar Suriya’ behind the screen while shouting ‘I want to break the caste barrier’ on the screen is a leaf taken out of EVR’s playbook.

This is not a writeup against Suriya. He is definitely a good actor with great acting skills that spills on to his real life. It is his choice to continue doing movies through his production house registered with his community name while flaunting his wokeness in audio launches and Agaram Foundation events. But what is important is for people to see through the hypocrisy and the double-standards of these stars who take fashionable positions while being morally bankrupt.

Pakistani workers upset over salary disparity with their Chinese counterparts, protests rock Karachi

Pakistan, which in the midst of nationwide protests against the French government now faces another protest against China for mistreatment of local Pakistani employees.

In Karachi, the financial capital of Pakistan, thousands of labourers on Wednesday (November 18) staged a protest against China, complaining about unequal wages compared to their Chinese compatriots.

According to a report published by The News International, Chinese staff recruited by the Punjab Mass Transit Authority for Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) project received more salaries in comparison to their Pakistani employees.

This disparity in the income of the Pakistani staff has lowered the morale and to compound to the problem, there is a different grade system for the Chinese. Also, the Chinese staff are being paid in Yuan, and the Pakistani staff get their salaries in Pakistani rupees (PKR).

“On Wednesday, the value of 1 CNY against 1 PKR was equal to Rs 24.02. According to the data of the salaries of 93 Chinese working at the OLMT project, the Chinese staff is highly paid. If the salaries of Pakistani officials working on the same/equivalent seats are compared with those of Chinese staff, the Pakistan employees are getting mere peanuts. According to data, a Chinese-origin deputy chief executive officer/CFO/director with grade L2 is being paid 136,000 CNY per month which is equal to over Rs 36.26 lakh. There were three positions and all were filled with Chinese. No Pakistani was hired on this designation,” The News International stated.

The News International further gave data on salary disparity wherein 12 employees of Chinese origin working on the slot of train dispatcher/train crew are getting 57,000 CNY each, equal to Rs 10.36 lakh, however, Pakistans who are recruited for the same position are getting much lower salaries.

This unfair treatment has led to the Pakistani employees demanding a salary hike from the government and want the new salary structure at par with their Chinese counterparts.

Meanwhile, due the Wuhan virus, China has put a hold on projects under the $62 billion CPEC, a flagship project of China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

Also, the ongoing sectarian and political unrest in Pakistan along with the crippling economic and foreign debt limits faced by Pakistan has forced China to slow down and delay investments in future projects in Pakistan.

Also, there is growing resentment in Pakistan as the fear of being trapped in a mountain of debt to China is growing every day.

The National Assembly Standing Committee on Planning and Development on Tuesday may have cleared the CPEC Authority Bill 2020 with a majority, however, the opposition parties have strongly opposed the bill. Former minister for planning Ahsan Iqbal said, “Creation of CPEC authority is superfluous and unnecessary,” he said. “Ministry of planning has discharged the role diligently and effectively in the past.”

Many in Pakistan have come to realise that the national debt of USD 80 billion on account CPEC is a recipe for disaster and a danger to the sovereignty of Pakistan. Many in Pakistan have also noted how China has entrapped other under-developed countries with its unreasonable debt trap policies.

The opposition parties who are up in arms against the Imran Khan Niazi government have now realised that the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) under the facade of Pakistan-China friendship is using CPEC project to turn Pakistan into a ‘Chinese colony’ and is using every opportunity to push the debt burden on Pakistan.

TN: 405 govt school students who cracked NEET get medical seats through 7.5% quota this year

With the Tamil Nadu government implementing the 7.5% internal quota for undergraduate medical admissions, 405 students who had cleared the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and passed class 12 examinations from government/government aided schools have secured admissions in government and self-financed medical colleges in Tamil Nadu.

313 students have got admission in government and self-financed medical colleges and 92 have taken admission in government and self-financed dental colleges.

The first 18 students allotted seats under the quota for government schools were NEET repeaters. There were also many first time NEET attempters lucky of not having to repeat the exam, thanks to the internal quota brought from this year.

Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami handed over the admission orders, doctor’s coat and stethoscopes to the students at an event organized to felicitate those who have got admissions.

It turned out to be an emotional moment for everyone present with several students coming from the humblest of backgrounds realizing their dream of studying to become a doctor.

Archana, daughter of Sakthivel, who works as a daily wage labourer at Nagaiah Kottai in Dindigul broke down in tears on the stage and said “I am at a loss for words.. I was very worried about making my daughter a doctor as she was in government school. Thanks to the 7.5% quota she is now a doctor.. There is no doctor from my society.. I am thankful to the Chief Minister who like a God has made by daughter a doctor..” falling at the feet of the Chief Minister.

Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit on Friday (October 30) gave his assent to the Bill passed by the Tamil Nadu Assembly that provides for 7.5% reservation for students passing class 12 from state government schools.

The Bill titled “Tamil Nadu Admission to Undergraduate Courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Indian Medicine and Homeopathy on preferential basis to the students of Government Schools Bill 2020” was passed by the Tamil Nadu Assembly on September 15.

The quota has come into force from the present academic year.

The move was taken following the submission of a report by the one man Commission under Justice P. Kalaiyarasan earlier in June 2020 that pointed out the socio-economic disparities between government and private school students.

After Shakib, Bangladesh cricketer Liton Das threatened by Islamist for posting Durga Pooja greetings on Facebook

In another case of blatant bigotry, Bangladesh national team cricketer Liton Kumar Das received several hate messages on his Facebook after he posted a photo of the Durga idol and sent greetings on the occasion of Puja, reports The Daily Star.

Just a few days ago, Bangladesh’s best all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was threatened by an Islamist for inaugurating a Kali Puja program in Kolkata. Shakib later had to issue an unconditional apology for hurting the sentiments of Muslims.

One Facebook user named, Mohammed Metun, attacked Liton for his religious beliefs, saying “I told you not to post such religious things”.

Another user asked him to remove the photo because Islam does not allow idolatry and Bangladesh is a majority Muslim country. However, there were several posts that are more abusive in nature.

Das, who was under a lot of pressure, later deleted the post and put up a new status on Facebook that read, “My first identity is that I am a Bangladeshi, and religion cannot divide us”,.

However, there were also posts from many of his fans supported Das for his post.

Nahin Hasan Shaoun said, “In any Hindu festival the number of Muslims is more than the number of Hindus. We all enjoy the occasions together, but some people are ruining it for the rest of us by making these derogatory comments”.

One person named John D Sana wrote, “Liton, majority of the people in Bangladesh is Muslim and praying to idols is forbidden in Islam. You have hurt the Muslims by posting a photo of Durga on your Facebook account. So think of yourself as a Bangladeshi and not as a Hindu”.
