Shri Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swamy to start Yatra to save Hindu temples in Andhra Pradesh

As attacks on Hindu temples intensify in Andhra Pradesh under the rule of Chief Minister YSR Jagan Mohan Reddy, Hindu spiritual leader Shri Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swamy will start a yatra from January 17 to temples that were vandalized in the recent past.

Seer Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swamy decided to start this yatra to seek protection for Hindu religious places.

Addressing a press meet on Tuesday (January 6), the Hindu seer expressed his disappointment over the continued attacks on over 50 temples in recent months. He also said that in a temple in Singarayakonda, the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy idol was damaged and asked authorities to ensure that there will be no such attacks in the coming days.

He also demanded strict action against miscreants who vandalized the temples and sought a committee of intelligence department officials to conduct a transparent inquiry.

He also raised the issue of why the government has not installed CCTV cameras in temples despite orders and due to the security flaws and lack of security system, Hindu temples are now vulnerable to attacks.

In the press meet, Seer Chinna Jeeyar Swamy said that he will meet with local leaders to finalise future plan of action and added that he will be consulting with the village elders, Hindu religious leaders and temple associates.

The seer said that they can no longer remain silent when there is a threat to the very existence of temples and said if churches or mosques were attacked, there would be a worldwide condemnation and retaliation. He went on to add that he is appalled at the lukewarm reaction to temple attacks.

The Jeeyar Swami also objected to political parties involving themselves in religious matters and said he had nothing to do with politics and did not want to blame anyone, including the government for the attacks.

As per data released by the Andhra Pradesh DGP, about 228 cases of attacks on temples were registered in 2020. The number was 305 in 2019, 267 in 2018, 318 in 2017, 332 in 2016 and 290 in 2015.

“Be a man, not a hypocrite”: BJP’s CT Ravi lashes out at DMK’s Stalin

Four time Karnataka MLA and BJP national general secretary CT Ravi on Wednesday called out DMK chief MK Stalin’s hypocritical stance over the farm laws.

He pointed out that the DMK in its 2016 election manifesto had promised to formulate a new policy to help farmers market their produce directly to national and international buyers. The DMK had promised to formulate a mechanism to eliminate middle-men, and to facilitate farmers to sell their produce at market-determined prices. The DMK manifesto had also stated that it would review the Agriculture Produce Marketing Regulation Act in tune with changing times.

However, now that the Narendra Modi-led BJP government at the Centre had undertaken the very same steps via the recently enacted farmer empowerment laws, the DMK is hypocritically opposing the newly promulgated laws.

CT Ravi, in his tweet, also went on to accuse Stalin of peddling lies to the Tamil people.

Earlier, The Commune had on January 4 also reported that the DMK is protesting against the very same things that they promised in their election manifesto in 2016. DMK chief MK Stalin was also caught lying on camera during a “We Reject ADMK” Gram Sabha meet organized as part of the campaign trail in Cuddalore. The report had also contained an explainer, busting the lies that are frequently peddled by DMK and its henchmen in the media.

Another temple vandalized in AP: Miscreants break hands of Lord Vinayakar idol

In yet another incident of temple attack in the Jagan Mohan Reddy ruled Andhra Pradesh, an idol of Lord Vinayagar was found vandalized at a temple in Eti Gairampeta village in Golugonda mandal in Vishakapatnam district. The hands of Lord Ganesh were found cut off and lying on the floor inside the sanctum sanctorum.

This is one of the many temple attacks to come to light in the past few days.

Earlier, on December 29, locals visiting the 400 year-old Kodanda Rama Temple on the Bodi Konda hill were shocked to find a statue of Lord Ram beheaded.

Priests of the Vigneshwara temple in Sriramnagar in Rajahmundry found the two arms of the vigraha of Lord Subrahmanya severed when they come to open the temple on January 1.

In another incident, miscreants damaged the feet of the deity Komalamma at the Komalamma Temple near Vantlamamidi near Paderu, in Vishakhapatnam district. The temple is adjacent to the famous Modakondamma temple. Devotees who went there on Friday morning to have darshan of Komalamma’s padalu (feet) on the occasion of the New Year were shocked to find the feet damaged.

Unidentified people desecrated the idol of Goddess Sita at a temple situated in the Pandit Nehru Bus Station, which was reported on January 3.

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in his defence has alleged that these attacks on temples are an act of conspiracy by political opponents to defame and brand it “anti-Hindu”. He also called likened these attacks to “guerrilla warfare tactics” by political opponents. On Monday (4 January), he gave an explanation to his theory that all attacks on Hindu temples occur only when some prestigious welfare programmes.

As per data released by the Andhra Pradesh DGP, about 228 cases of attacks on temples were registered in 2020. The number was 305 in 2019, 267 in 2018, 318 in 2017, 332 in 2016 and 290 in 2015.

VHP working president calls Love Jihad a conspiracy by design, calls for national re-awakening

Terming “Love Jihad as a calculated agenda of invasion on the demographics, the Central Working President of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), Advocate Alok Kumar said that, “the time has come when the three – the police, government, and society have to come together and remain on the guard timely action to deactivate and neutralize it”.

Kumar called love Jihad as a conspiracy that is by design being run by some people through money power, wherewithal/resources, and religious superstitions and its an issue of national re-awakening. This speech was mentioned in the fortnightly magazine ‘Hindu Vishwa’.

In the magazine article a list of 147 Love Jihad case studies with facts and figures have been given that will open the eyes of the society, Kumar added.

The VHP Working President reminded that the Chief Minister of Kerala had said in 2012 that 2667 Hindu girls were converted to Islam in the previous 3 years and during that period, 79 girls had returned to their Hindu fold and 2 to the Christian fold and called this imbalance as disturbing.

Alok Kumar was very specific on how a Love Jihadist operates targeting unsuspecting Hindu girls especially those from the lower/middle-income groups.

A Love Jihadists would wear Tilak (red vermilion) on the forehead, Kalava thread on the right hand, and trap them into marriage and convert to Islam with the full support of his community.

However, when the girl learns that the boy had used deception to have relations with her or when she is married to a Vidharmi hailing from a desert religion, her condition and situation are clear from many examples.

While releasing the magazine Hindu Vishwa from his office along with editor of the magazine Vijay Shankar Tiwari and VHP national spokesperson Vinod Bansal, the VHP Working President in a video message said that ‘Hindu Vishwa’ has exposed the pan-Bharat Love Jihad conspiracy through its researched data of 147 case studies.

DMK’s political discourse stoops to new low, Udhayanidhi Stalin says ‘EPS would have gone inside Sasikala’s legs’

In a utterly disgusting speech, DMK’s youth wing secretary Udhayanidhi Stalin while speaking at a party event in Chennai made vulgar remarks at Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami.

Addressing the party cadres at the Chepauk-Tiruvallikeni Assembly constituency, the son of DMK chief M.K. Stalin was trying to take a dig at Chief Minister Palaniswami rise to power. One member from the audience can be heard saying ‘tyre nakki’ [tyre licker] to which Udhayanidhi Stalin laughingly said “This is the problem I face whenever I go for campaigning too. I try to say ‘Edappadi’ government, immediately someone from the crowd says ‘Edupudi aatchi’ [slave government]. I wonder whose slave.. Modi’s slave. From another side another man shouts it is not ‘Edupudi’, it is ‘deadbody’. [again laughs].”

“That is how he was lying down at the feet of Sasikala right! He went under the table, chair to fall at her feet. Given the chance, he would have gone inside her legs as well!” Udhayanidhi Stalin said giving a vulgar twist to the statement with smile to which DMK cadres can be heard laughing and clapping.

This crass comment has come under severe condemnation from netizens who are lashing out at Udhayanidhi Stalin for plunging the political discourse in the state to abyss.

It is not just Udhayanidhi Stalin who is known for making lewd remarks in public rallies of the DMK. Recently, MK Stalin made a sexist comment where he questioned the ‘potency’ of CM Palaniswami.  DMK MP and one of the prime accused in the 2G spectrum scam A. Raja had used unparliamentary words and called Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami in singular terms in the last few press meets.

Man slapped with SC/ST Act for complaining about superior’s corruption, says he will kill himself on Republic Day as a protest

In Rajasthan’s Shri Ganganagar district, a state government employee who alleged charges of corruption against a superior officer has himself been charged under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

Vijay Kumar Sharma, a veterinary assistant working for the government of Rajasthan filed a complaint against Dr Ramprakash Nayak, the Divisional Deputy Director of the Animal Husbandry Department and accused the senior officer of corruption. Subsequently, Vjiay Kumar Sharma was charged under the SC/ST Act and was sent to jail for 28 days.

The 65 year-old Sharma has said that he is now fed up with the SC/ST Act and has been forced to take his own life. He will take this extreme step on January 26, Republic Day, to create awareness in the nation on the ill-effects of the SC/ST Act, he said.

According to Sharma, he has been complaining regularly to the government about Dr Nayak’s alleged corruption, due to which Dr Nayak had threatened him several times. The latter then proceeded to accuse Vijay Kumar Sharma under the SC/ST Act, alleging that Sharma’s frequents complaints of corruption against him (Dr Nayak) were due to caste discrimination. Sharma then had to resign from his post and is now running from pillar to post. Sharma has said that he is currently out on bail, and that he is too old and tired to fight the legal challenge. Despite being the voice of truth against corruption, he was falsely implicated under the SC/ST Act and jailed, he added.

Preferring death over corruption, Sharma hopes that his death will send a message to people everywhere in the country on how the SC/ST Act is being misused against the common man.

India to commission its second nuclear powered submarine INS Arighat in 2021

In a strategic boost to our defences and enhancing our deterrence, the Indian Navy is all set to receive its second nuclear powered ballistic missile submarine, the INS Arighat.

As per reports, INS Arighat is now in its final stages of sea trials and is likely to be commissioned into service in early 2021. However, the commissioning of the vessel was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to Indian online newspaper The Print.

Arighat is the second of the indigenous Arihant-class nuclear-powered ballistic missile-carrying submarine (SSBN) after INS Arihant completing India’s nuclear triad which means India now has the capability to launch nuclear missiles from all three platforms, land, air and undersea.

Arighat, design is similar to the INS Arihant and can carry four nuclear-capable K-4 SLBMs (submarine-launched ballistic missile) with a range of over 3,500 kilometers or twelve conventional warhead K-15 SLBMs with a range of about 750 kilometers and they also carry the latest torpedoes and mines.

India launched INS Arighat in November 2017 by then-Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and have plans to further construct 4 more vessels in the class, the first two being INS Arihant and INS Arighat with a total displacement of 6,000 tonnes.

However, the remaining two subs which are under construction and are yet to be named and would be bigger having a displacement of 7,000 tonnes and will be carrying 12-15 long-range ballistic missiles.

India already has lots of experience in handling of nuclear-powered submarines and for years operated the Russian Akula class submarine. Before the induction of INS Arihant, the Indian Navy operated INS Chakra which is an attack submarine, however, did not have the capability to launch ballistic missiles from underwater.

India is now part of a select group of countries that have the capability to launch a nuclear weapon from land, air and underwater. The only other countries capable of this are the US, Russia, China and France.

India further displaced its technological capabilities in 2019, when it tested an anti-satellite weapon during an operation code-named Mission Shakti again becoming part of select group nations that are capable of such feat.

Children sexually abused in shelter run by Harsh Mander’s NGO

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has discovered that the two children homes – Umeed Aman Home for Boys and Khushi Rainbow Home for Girls – run by ‘social activist’ Harsh Mander have had several instances of child sexual abuse.

Both these children shelters are located in South Delhi and were established by the founder of Centre for Equity Studies, Harsh Mander who was once the member of the powerful National Advisory Council (NAC) created by Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

The teams were formed and were led by the NCPCR Chairperson himself to investigate the matter and according to the NCPCR, “It was informed by the Former Member (of the NCPCR) that the said complaint was received in the Commission in 2012 but the matter was not dealt adequately at that time and that the same is required to be looked into in light of present complaint that has been received by the Commission.”

The NCPCR also was shocked that the centre flaunted numerous norms and regulations at these homes including COVID-19 norms. It was found that social distancing norms were also not observed.

Other violations that have come out in the open during the NCPRC  investigation is that the Umeed Aman Ghar’s registration was not renewed, there was no adequate counsellor, no medical officer available on call, no cook or helper available and shockingly there were no records of the recruitment of each staff or work profile.

The commission observed that “The rooms of the home was not segregated and there was a mingling of minor children with the elder children, which made the minor children vulnerable to abuse and bullying by the elder children.” The NCPCR said, “The response given by the Staff and In- charge of the Home regarding this matter has been observed to be misleading and incorrect which is a serious violation and offence.”

NCPCR also said it has knowledge of sexual abuse continuing in the shelter home and yet, it was not being reported.

After the inspection was carried out by the NCPCR the following recommendations have been made:

1. Departments of WCD and Education of the Government of Delhi to take a serious view of the matter and initiate an investigation into the serious lapses and violations at the two shelter homes.

2. Investigation to be carried out against the inspection officials so as to comprehend how these glaring flaws were ignored for so long.

3. Economic Offences Wing of the Delhi Police investigate the multiple sources of funding of these shelter homes and the Ministry of Home Affairs has also been urged to investigate possible FCRA violations.

Another disturbing aspect that has emerged from the investigation is that foreign nationals had visited these homes for “voluntary service”, and the NCPCR has asked the Home Ministry to investigate whether any VISA violations had been committed.

‘Nirbhaya’ in UP’s Badaun: Woman gangraped, rod inserted into her private parts

In a case that is similar to the horrific Nirbhaya case, a case of a middle-aged woman being gang-raped and assaulted has been reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun. The crime took place on Sunday evening in Mewali village in Ughaiti police station area.

While the Station House Officer (SHO) has been suspended, Badaun SP Sankalp Sharma said in a statement that the police have registered a murder case against three people, Mahant Baba Satynarayana, his disciple Vedram and driver Jaspal, at the behest of the victim’s family. Watch: TN Congress cadres chase away party treasurer ‘Ruby’ Manoharan

Tamil Nadu Congress Committee Treasurer Ruby Manoharan was chased away by fellow party cadres as he came to garland the statue of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K. Kamaraj near Nanguneri yesterday.

‘Ruby’ Manoharan is a real estate giant and was recently appointed as the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee Treasurer by the party high command. He was also fielded as the Congress candidate for Nanguneri by-elections after the seat fell vacant following the resignation of late Congress leader Vasanth Kumar who became an MP in 2019. The DMK which wanted to contest in the Nanguneri seat gave in after Congress national high command pressured to field Ruby Manoharan. However, Manoharan faced a massive defeat at the hands of AIADMK candidate V. Narayanan.

Back then, the Congress cadres of the region were angry about fielding an outside instead of a local leader. With Manoharan, eyeing to contest from Nanguneri for the 2021 Assembly elections, local party cadres have become even more enraged.

In light of this, Manoharan who had visited Parappadi near Nanguneri yesterday to garland the statue of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K. Kamaraj was gheraoed and chased away by Congress cadres. The two factions of the Congress engaged in a brawl and police had to be called to ease the situation. Traffic on Nanguneri Thissayanvilai Road was disrupted for more than an hour by Congress vehicles parked in the area. Following this, Manoharan placed the garland on the grill and went away from the spot.
