Actor Santhanam tweets in support of Sadhguru’s plea to free temples from govt control

santhanam sadguru temples tamilnadu

Isha’s Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev had posted a tweet saying how close to 12,000 temples were in ruins all around Tamilnadu with no one to care for them. The tweet read, “11,999 temples dying without a single pooja taking place. 34,000 temples struggling with less than Rs 10,000 a year. 37,000 temples have just one person for pooja, maintenance, security etc! Leave temples to devotees. Time to #FreeTNTemples.”

He went on to tag the CM of Tamil Nadu, DMK leader MK Stalin and actor Rajinikanth. He went on to say in the video that was posted that just like how the East India Company had left the temples of India in a dilapidated state by bludgeoning them, the present situation was such that they were slowly being suffocated into going out of existence by depriving them of resources and funds. He elaborated on the need for temples and explained how entire towns were built around them, and how they had been instrumental for the flourish of civilization.

He then beseeched that, since a single person would be unable to maintain the temples, the government should consider giving the responsibility of managing temples back to the devotees, and that the logistics could be figured out later.

Tweeting in favour of this, Actor Santhanam had tweeted saying, “Completely agree with @sadhguruJV. Leave it for devotees. Sad to see so many places of worship without a single pooja taking place. Very little done for maintenance, security etc. #FreeTNTemples.” This caused a stir online, flooding the microblogging platform with tweets in support as well as in opposition of the tweet.

BJP’s Asuvathaman and Indu Makkal Katchi (IMK) welcomed Actor Santhanam’s tweet. Many netizens were surprised to see a Kollywood actor giving voice to an issue that has been a subject matter of debate among the Hindu community.

However, one netizen pointed out that when the actor had run into a trouble with a BJP man a few years back, he reportedly threatened the person that he knew DMK chief MK Stalin.

Some others netizens like Savukku Shankar pointed out that Santhanam was a ‘Sanghi’ and also took a dig at his caste saying that ‘he was a Vanniyar and hence would have no brains’.

Twitter spat erupts between DRM Chennai and CMRL over fare and facilities

Chennai metro fares

It all started when the suburban train services department’s handle @DRMChennai put out an illustration showing the comparison of fares between their services and that of the Chennai Metro Rail. This contained a table showing how the fares for the same distance travelled by suburban local trains were almost 5 to 10 times lesser than that of the Chennai Metro Rails.

Their caption said, “Equally fast and most economical. Chennai Suburban Services.” The tweet went on to add, “This information was shared as there was a demand from public. Chennai Suburban system and CMRL complement each other and provide enhanced connectivity to Chennai city. We are working together in many areas for better connectivity.”

Replying to this, the @CMRLofficial, which is the handle of the Chennai Metro Rail, said, “Hi @DrmChennai, Well we do provide Round the Clock Security, AC Coaches and well maintained state of the art Metro Stations with on time train schedules!”

This Twitter spat quickly became viral, as Twitterati started supporting either side in this online debate. Supporters of the Metro came up with arguments as to how the suburban trains had a huge pickpocketing menace and had unhygienic standards of maintenance. Some even went ahead and pointed out that the time schedules were rarely adhered to and that one could only dream of reaching one’s destination on time while sticking to suburban train travel. Those in support of the Suburban rail services retorted about how the affordability of the Chennai metro services was highly questionable, and that not everyone was able to go on a metro train.

Man kills leopard with bare hands after animal attacks his family

man kills leopard

A man in Karnataka’s Hassan district showed great courage and strength when he bare-handedly strangled a leopard to death after the animal attacked his family.

Rajagopal Naik is a resident of Arasikere taluk in Hassan district, Karnataka. He was on his way home, along with his wife Chandramma and their son Kiran. The family of three were travelling on a motorcycle when, suddenly, a leopard leapt at them from the bushes near the road.

The leopard bit Kiran’s leg and attacked Chadramma. Rajagopal, seeing his family in peril, fought off the leopard with his bare hands. He grabbed the leopard by the neck and began hitting the animal on the head with his elbow. The leopard struggled to break free and even swiped at Rajagopal with its claws, injuring him.

Undaunted, the brave man did not let go of the animal but tightened his hold on the leopard’s neck, choking the beast to death.

Rajagopal and his family were later taken to the nearest hospital for treatment and to get their wounds bandaged. Officials from the forest department arrived at the scene of the incident and took away the carcass of the leopard. The leopard’s body was sent to a veterinary hospital for an autopsy.

Temple land belonging to Madurai Azhagar Temple encroached by DMK party members

A complaint has been lodged with the district administration demanding the immediate removal of flags belonging to various political parties that have been installed on temple-owned land in Madurai.

Koodal Azhagar Perumal Temple in Madurai is one of the 108 Divya Desams and has a public road leading to the temple along the four-foot hall. This space for florists and lamp sellers is currently being used by the DMK and AIADMK and the public has accused the DMK parties of occupation.

A petition has been filed with the district administration and the corporation on behalf of the devotees demanding the immediate removal of the flagpole with the pedestal erected here. People have demanded that the district administration should remove these flag poles before the election as the assembly elections are to be held in Tamil Nadu at present.

Despite the fact that the parties have different ideologies, the fact that they have been occupying the land on the temple premises and erecting a flagpole has caused great dissatisfaction among the devotees in the area. Social activists say the only way out for the government to control the temples is to prevent politicians from looting and misusing temple property.

Malaysian education ministry to remove lesson about ‘Periyar’ from its Tamil textbooks

Tamils in Malaysia had recently filed a petition with the country’s education ministry, conveying their opposition over the inclusion of a lesson about E.V. Ramaswamy Naicker, (hailed as ‘Periyar’ by his followers) in the Tamil textbook of Year 6 (Class 6).

A lesson about leaders who had worked for the upliftment of the Tamil language had featured E.V. Ramaswamy Naicker and his works. This had sparked a lot of outrage among Malaysian Tamils as they claimed that he was someone who is known as a preacher of atheism and went on to accuse those on the education ministry of secretively trying to preach those ideals to kids from a very young age.

There was also opposition over the distribution of a booklet that tried to preach the views of DMK that Tamil new year is to be celebrated on the first day of the month of Thai and not on the first of the month of Chitthirai. They went on to question why the Malaysian education ministry was trying to poison the minds of children against the Hindu festival of Pongal by ‘rebranding it’ as Tamil New Year.

Worried parents had then gone ahead to complain about the same to the Hindu association in Malaysia, who had promptly wrote a letter to Deputy Minister of the Education Department, Dr. Mah Hang Soon regarding the same. Following this, the Education Ministry had invited them for a talk. Arun Dorasamy of the Agamam Ani Msia had said that after a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Education, the latter had assured that the section on ‘Periyar’ would be removed and instead have lessons of leaders who have worked for the betterment of Tamils in Malaysia.

He had also assured them that the circulation of the booklet about Pongal would also be stopped and firm action would be taken against those who had indulged in the same.

If one reads the speeches and editorials of Periyar in his mouthpieces Viduthalai and Kudiarasu, it would be evident as to what his views on Tamil and Tamilians were. In an editorial article of Viduthalai dated October 11, 1967, Periyar called Tamil as a “kaatumiraandi mozhi”, meaning barbarian language. He wanted Tamil to be discarded at home and advocated the use of English as the medium of communication. He went to the extent of saying that ‘Tamil is a language that is not even useful for begging’.

Silappadikaram, the great Tamil epic written by Ilango Adigal and belonging to the ancient Sangam literature, was called by Periyar as an Aryan propaganda tool.

Tamil Saivite literature like Tevaram, Tiruvasagam and Tirumandiram which are part of the Thirumurai, a collection of songs in praise of Hindu God Shiva was called as rubbish by Periyar.

While Thirukkural has been a revered work across the world, Periyar called it “feces placed in a golden plate”.

Befriended over Instagram, minor girl in Malappuram Kerala gang-raped in exchange for drugs

Love Jihad Bihar

In the Muslim-majority village of Kalpakancheri in the Malappuram district of Kerala, a minor girl was raped over and over for the past few months in exchange for drugs, reports Hindu Post.

This all started when the girl received a mobile phone as a gift to help her attend online classes during the lockdown and then her painful ordeal began.

After the girl reported the incident, police arrested Muhammed Aflah and Muhammed Rafeeque who are both in their early twenties but the main accused in the case, a 30-year-old male is on the run.

As per reports, the girl lives with her mother and brother and the father works abroad. The modus operandi used by the accused was to become friends with the girl by chatting her up online and he eventually started visiting her at her house, in the dead of the night.

He then introduced her to drugs and the craving left the victim with no other option but barter for sex. Once the minor girl became a full addict, the accused introduced her to his friends and acquaintances who then raped her. This incident is a grim reminder of Rotherham sex grooming gangs who would also get young girls, some of them as young as eleven hooked on drugs and then systematically rape the.

When the ordeal became unbearable, the girl gathered all her courage and informed her relatives who in turn informed the authorities at Childline. To ensure the girl did not report this, her tormentors also threatened to kill her.

As information released,  the girl was first introduced to ganja, then hashish oil and cocaine with the promise of higher drugs of injection. But what is even more troubling is that the Childline authorities now suspect that there are possibly several such victims who have been enslaved by the drug mafia.

To further complicate the situation, serious accusations of complacency have been made against the police authorities in the district because they acted slowly on arresting the accused which allowed others to go into hiding.

The girl is now under the custody of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) of the district and the CWC Chairman, Shajesh Bhaskar was critical in his comments and said, “This is not an ordinary POCSO case. This is a case of extreme seriousness demanding serious and immediate intervention. I was shocked to see such a crime. Never before could we detect such a thing in Malappuram. The racket traps girls through Instagram, makes them addicts to drugs, and abuses them sexually,”.

Bhaskar is so disgusted by the apathy of the police, he has decided to press the government and ask for the intervention of higher authorities in the probe.  The accused have been charged under sections of POSCO, punishment for rape, and the penalty for providing narcotic drugs to a child.

As per information made available, the young minor is showing withdrawal symptoms which is normal when one goes through de-addiction treatment.

Complaint filed against DMK chief Stalin for practicing ‘untouchability’ against fellow party leader

At the recent DMK public meeting at T.N.Paalayam, there was a huge controversy as it was alleged that Anthiyur Selvaraj, a DMK district secretary, was made to sit below the stage as his name was announced, while DMK chief MK Stalin had been comfortably seated on the stage.

Ironically, Stalin had rattled on and on throughout the meeting about how the recent announcement of a statue and memorial for Pollan, a former assembly member and a prominent leader belonging to the Arunthathiyar community had been announced back in 2001 by himself in a party meeting at Sankagiri, and that the ADMK was merely implementing it. He also said that it was only during the then DMK government headed by the then Chief Minister Karunanidhi, that the Arundhatiyar’s internal reservation was announced on January 23, 2008.

While all of these had been going on, Anthiyur Selvaraj had still been seated on the ground below the stage, waiting for the announcement of his name as the party’s district secretary. This earned Stalin a lot of backlash on social media with a lot of netizens alleging blatant untouchability.

With this matter coming to light, Ma Venkatesan, the Chairman of the National Commission for Safai Karamcharis took cognizance of the issue and has filed a complaint against the DMK chief for practicing untouchability.

In his letter to the National Commission for Scheduled Caste, Ma Venkatesan has asked for an immediate enquiry and action against MK Stalin for his ‘offending, hurtful and disgusting act’.

The rot in Tamil Nadu politics

Seeman NTK annual income villupuram protest

Imagine Tamil actor Kamal Haasan, well known for his plagiarizing skills suing Hollywood writers for not coming up with new scripts. A similar farce is happening in the world of Tamil Nadu politics. The virulent anti-Hindu Dravidian forces are themselves being pummeled by an emerging militant and racist movement for not being anti-Hindu enough.

Tamil civilization is an important part of Sanatana Dharma (Hindu) civilization. Of late Tamil racist groups are increasingly aggressive in their attempt to split it from Hindu roots. In the book “Breaking India” (BI), co-authored by Rajiv Malhotra and Aravindan Neelakandan, the authors describe these BI forces in detail. The book states, “Even the fierce fight between Christians and Leftists within the West, and the clash between Islam and Christianity in various places, have been set aside in order to attack India’s unity”.

The BI forces have unleashed their latest weapon in the form of the Tamil racist “Naam Tamilar Katchi” (NTK). However, the target for the NTK is quite ironic as it is their own “partner in crime”, the people who claim themselves to be of ‘Dravidian stock’, who are no less in being racist demagogues.

Sri Lanka’s civil war ended badly for Tamil separatists during May 2009. This had provided the excuse for ‘Tamil’ racists to attack the Dravidian parties especially the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) to their hate campaign.

Historically, from the Justice Party days until now, the Dravidian buffoonery has been funded by BI forces. The Tamil racists and Dravidian demagogue quite often can be seen engaging in fiery arguments. One of the good things about this is that the hollowness of both the Dravidian thought and the Tamil racist philosophy gets laid bare.

The Naam Tamilar Katchi has a lot of claims, with the most chauvinistic one being that only Tamilians should be eligible to rule Tamil Nadu. Who gets to define a Tamilian is a million-dollar question. Tamil racists like Seeman give contradictory answers based on the audience.

Tamil racist claims of exclusivity and civilizational superiority sound not much different from what the racist Sinhalese government does to its Tamil population. During its entire history, the Tamil region, has been linked with the rest of Hindu civilization including its Buddhist and Jain cultures.

The list below gives a few examples of cross-cultural interaction between Tamil Nadu and its neighbors:

1) 7th century CE: Pallava dynasty (non-Tamil) rescued Tamil lands from its 300+ year “Kalapirar dark ages”

2) 11th century CE: Later Chola – Eastern Chalukya (Telugu) family alliances helped continue the Chola dynasty
3) 15th century CE: Vijayanagar’s (Tulu, Kannada, and Telugu) rule liberated Tamil lands from Turkic Muslim killing, rape, and plunder

Rest of Hindu-India has been a positive force multiplier to protect and nurture the Tamil language, culture, temples, and civilization. The Tamil racist’s attempts to paint Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, and other non-Tamil speakers as outsiders belie these historical facts. Hindu civilization remembers the Tamil lands as the incubation and innovation center of Hindu culture. Tamil Nadu is the birthplace of the “Bhakti” movement around 1,300 years ago.

The comical spectacle of Dravidian ideologues and Tamil racists calling each other as chauvinists is the textbook example of the kettle calling the pot black.

Tamil racist and Dravidian forces provide opportunistic support to “woke” issues. Fighting climate change, environmental protection, corruption-free rule, and women’s rights ring hollow based on their past rule. The Karunanidhi family has embezzled billions of dollars from public funds. His multiple wives with titles “Manaivi (Wife)”, “Thunaivi (Consort)” and “Eenaivi (Sexual Partner)” makes a mockery of women’s rights.

Actress Vijayalaksmi’s #MeToo allegation against Sebastian alias Seeman is another example of sexual abuse. The terror funding charges against Seeman show the moral rot and economical corruption.

Hindu voters of Tamil Nadu should stand up for their values, spirituality, civilization, and culture. Benevolent Dharma oriented forces have always been at the forefront of protecting Tamil and other native cultures across India. The Tamil-Hindu diaspora should see through the quackery of Tamil racists. Their hard earned time and money is better spent for the benefit of suffering civilians in Sri Lanka’s Northern and Eastern provinces.

Breaking India forces had great success in bringing death and destruction to Sri Lanka. It is unfathomable to think if these forces start having success in mainland India. The 1947 partition horrors will look like a child’s play.

Police seized a massive amount of explosives in Kozhikode railway station on Friday (26 February) morning. The police were able to recover 117 gelatin sticks and 350 detonators from the Chennai-Mangaluru Superfast Express.

At present, a woman has been arrested in connection with the incident. The Railway Police Force is probing the matter further.

The police are investigating all angles and is also looking into whether the explosives were being taken for works in quarries or for terror operations. But the most important aspect of the probe is to trace the origin of the explosives.

Recently, the Popular Front of India (PFI), an Islamic organisation, had held a march, wherein some people dressed in RSS uniform were bound with chains on their hands. The PFI also held an unauthorised rally in Mayiladuthurai and Kayalpatnam in Tamil Nadu. Over 5,000 members of PFI came out in a rally in Dakshina Kannada in Karnataka to showcase ‘Muslim strength’.

Nandu Krishnan, Mukhya Shikshak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was brutally murdered, allegedly by members of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI). The SDPI is the political wing of Popular Front of India (PFI).

Assembly elections are scheduled in Kerala in the coming weeks. It is expected that such crimes will increase the stress on an already strained security apparatus.
