Indian Army was ready to engage China in the eastern sector amid standoff in Ladakh

During the height of the Ladakh standoff between India and China and as troops from the Indian Army and the Special Frontier Force (SFF) captured the tactically important heights of the Kailash Range in Ladakh, south of Pangong Tso, the Eastern Command was ordered to ready for an offensive operation against China in the eastern sector, as per a report by The Indian Express.

India shares a very long land border with China and military planners considered the option of a counter-offensive against the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) in the east to relieve pressure in Ladakh if China pushed India.

According to the report, the Eastern Command was told to “take measures first to augment…defensive capability, and then be ready to go launch (an offensive) to relieve pressure in the area of Ladakh” and the Indian Army pushed in more troops in the Middle Sector to augment its defences as it wanted to deter the Chinese.

Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand form the Middle Sector boundary with China and the Eastern Sector stretches from Sikkim to Arunachal Pradesh.

The army headquarters was tasked with and presented all the possible locations where an operation could be launched against the Chinese.

After Indian and Chinese troops clashed in the Galwan Valley in June, the decision to occupy heights on the Kailash Range was taken by the China Study Group towards the end of August and on the intervening night of 29 and 30 August, Indian troops captured tactically important heights.

France recalls 15 diplomats, Imran Khan to introduce deportation resolution bill to appease Tehreek-i-Labbaik

As the anti-French protests in Pakistan by the banned Islamist organisation, Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) gets more violent, France has decided to recall 15 diplomats from Pakistan as its National Assembly prepares to introduce a deportation resolution bill against the French Ambassador.

The TLP is demanding the expulsion of the French envoy over the publication of blasphemous caricatures of Prophet Mohammed that has taken Pakistan almost on the brink of a civil war.

Although the Pakistan government has banned the Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan under the Anti-Terrorism Act on Thursday (15 April), the violent protests across the country just do not seem to ebb as two more policemen were killed in clashes with TLP supporters.

However, the Imran Khan government has now decided to present the deportation resolution bill of the French ambassador in the National Assembly today, to please the out of control Islamist organisation that wants to impose Sharai in Pakistan.

If this resolution is passed, it would lead to the end of Pakistan’s diplomatic relationship with France and its further isolation in the world.

It must be noted that France built Pakistan’s scorpene submarines and the Pakistani Air Force (PAF) still operates Dassault Mirage III and this move to deport the French Ambassador would not only have diplomatic and political ramifications but also seriously hurt Pakistan’s defence.

17th century inscription equates sin of destroying a pond to killing a cow

A stone inscription dating back to the 17th century AD that was found in Pattamangalam near Thiruvananthapuram in Ramanathapuram district’ was found to be engraved with an inscription stating that ‘he who destroys a pond will get the sin of killing a cow’.

In the past, it was considered the duty of mankind to dig and preserve ponds. The ancient inscription that was found at Pattamangalam near Thiruvananthapuram in the Ramanathapuram district tells the story of a man named Thugavoorudaiyaan who dug a pond and named it “Udayan Nayan”. It describes how he went on to donate it for public use.

V. Rajaguru, President of the Ramanathapuram Archaeological Survey, copied and examined the inscription after receiving intel from Pattamangalam Kamaraj that there was an inscription on a pillar 4 feet long and 1 foot wide which was uncovered while digging the pond in front of the Pattamangalam Shiva Temple near Thiruvananthapuram, Ramanathapuram.

“Inscriptions are engraved on both sides of the pillar. The 40-line inscription begins and ends with u. In the inscription, the Tamil year is mentioned as the 14th day of the Sarvatari year, January. It can be predicted to be dating back to AD 1648.” Rajaguru was quoted saying in a report.

He continued, “The inscription says the following, ‘According to Arumbur, Nayanayan of Kaliyaneri Dugavoorudaiyan Ponni Adaippar has dug a pond named Udayan Nayan in this town. In it, it is mentioned that the one who does not preserve this pond will incur the sin equal to killing a Brahmin and the holy cow on the bank of the river Ganga’. The inscription also refers to the pond as Ayiraveli Dhanmam and describes that those who preserve the pond will be blessed until the moon and the sun are exist. It also says that they will incur the amount of blessing equal to saving a woman in trouble if they preserve this pond. It is worth mentioning that there is a village nearby called Ayiraveli.”

He added that Kaliyaneri, mentioned in the inscription, is located 2 km west of Pattamangalam. “It is a ghost town that used to flourish in the past. Thugavoorudaiyaan Ponni Adaippar Udaiya Naayanayan, who belonged to Kaliyaneri, may have been the royal representative of the Sethupathis. Both Koothan Sethupathi and Thalavaai Sethupathi are discovered to have had the epithet “Naayan” as per the inscriptions in the stone.” he said.

Rajaguru concluded, saying that it is noteworthy that Arumbur koottram, which were a subcaste of the Pandiyar and were earlier found in the stone inscriptions belonging to the reign of Sundarachozhan, were also found to be mentioned in the Sethupathi inscriptions. “During the late 13th century AD Pandyan period, the old Shiva temple of this town, which was entirely built of bricks, was completely demolished and rebuilt. Medieval pottery tiles were also found around the ruins of this temple.” he said.

Ex-R&AW officer sheds more light on ISRO spy case

Nambi Narayanan

There is more to the infamous ISRO spy case which caused a setback to India’s space programme and ruined the career of Dr Nambi Narayanan, according to the former Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) field officer Rajesh Pillai.

He has said that it was not Pakistan but some other country that was involved in this espionage. Without disclosing the country name, Pillai said that R&AW agents in that country alerted their colleagues in India and asked them to keep Maldivian national Raheeda under surveillance who had planned to enter the country through Thiruvananthapuram airport.

Pillai was then the R&AW officer posted at the airport who said that the officials had instructions to detain her.

In November 1994, Narayan and fellow scientist D Sasi Kumaran in charge of the cryogenic technology transfer from Russia, were arrested on charges of espionage. It was alleged that the transfer of confidential documents of ISRO were given to two Maldivian women.

Mr. Pillai said that the espionage was not aimed at the cryogenic technology alone but had larger scheme of things at play. He said that the culprits got away after the case acquired a political conspiracy angle that ruled out the espionage bid.

As per Pillai’s assessment, political and other interest groups covered up the espionage case. He said that after the  Prime Minister and CBI director paid a visit to Kerala, R&AW was forced to wind up its probe after 20 days.

India was very close to perfecting the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) also known as the “naughty boy” as ISRO wanted a more powerful rocket that could hoist payloads to the geosynchronous transfer orbit.

However, a fresh probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has the potential to bring out the truth after the Supreme Court of India ordered the CBI to further probe the findings of the Jain Committee. The roles played by senior police officers Siby Mathew, the then deputy inspector general (DIG), and, S Vijayan and K K Joshua, were to be investigated.

The truth in the ISRO spy case will never see the light of day unless an investigation is carried out by the Central Agencies without passion and prejudice because the CBI did not acknowledge Dr Narayan claim that it was an international conspiracy to derail or delay India’s advancement in cryogenic technology. As per Pillai, the central investigation agency could bring out the truth.

dmk manifesto gram panchayat

Maruthai, a customer of the Vilanthai City Union Bank branch in Ariyalur district, had mortgaged his property in the bank and taken a loan of ₹ 2 crores for business development. The bank manager Suryanarayanan had granted Veeravel, the DMK leader’s son, permission to withdraw money from the Maruthai’s account without his signature or consent. The two have allegedly swindled about ₹1 crore 28 lakh 30 thousand 390 rupees from Maruthai’s account.

After realizing that money had been stolen from his bank account, Marudhai had lodged a complaint with higher officials of City Union Bank in Kumbakonam. City Union Bank’s vigilance team that investigated the case, reported that Suriyanarayanan was involved in the scam and recommended action against him.

Maruthai lodged a complaint with the Ariyalur Police along with the City Union Bank vigilance report. According to sources, the police dragged the case without taking any action for a year since a DMK figure was involved. In this scenario, Maruthai moved the High Court, asking the court to direct the police to take action against the accused.  According to the High Court order, Veeravel and the bank manager were charged under eight sections by the Police.

But the Police were said to have slowed down the investigation after registering an FIR. Once again Maruthai moved the high court and got an order for the arrest of the two accused. The police are yet to arrest the accused despite the fact that the deadline of the High Court has expired.

The victim Maruthai alleged that the bank manager and Veeravel were allegedly released by the police without being arrested after receiving written assurances from both.

TN Church body had interfered in Assembly elections, pamphlet circulated to vote for DMK+

In a shocking revelation it has been found that the Church in Tamil Nadu had interfered in the recently concluded Tamil Nadu Assembly Election asking Christians to vote for the DMK alliance and not any other political party.

A pamphlet circulated by the Tamil Nadu Catholic Youngsters Movement states that the political front of Tamil Nadu pastors – Chrithuva Vaazhvurimai Iyakkam (Christians Right to Life Movement) – had decided in a meeting convened on 20th January 2021 to oppose the ‘Saffron-Corporate Fascism’ and that the pastors have decided the position to be taken by Catholic Christians in the state for the Assembly Elections.

The pamphlet notes that Catholic Christians must oppose the AIADMK-BJP-PMK-TMC alliance and also not ‘waste their votes’ by voting for NOTA, Seeman’s Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK), Kamal Haasan’s Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM), T.T.V Dhinakaran’s Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) or retired IAS officer Sagayam’s political outfit.

“To oppose the saffron fascism, vote for Secular Progressive Alliance comprising DMK-Congress-VCK-CPI-CPIM-MDMK-MMK-IUML-KMK”, the circular said.

The circular also asks Christians to urge other people to vote for the Secular Progressive Alliance and also accompany the candidate in canvassing for votes.

Ever seen a white crow? This village in TN has

The public in Ambur were amazed to see a rare white crow circling above the densely populated streets of the town. It was reported that, for the last 2 days, a white crow has been circling above the streets in Mittalam village next to Ambur, Tirupathur district.

Children and adults of the area were amazed to see this rare species of crow flying in the residential areas of Mittalam. Some tried to lure the white crow near their house by giving it fruit and grains.

While crows are known to be black and ubiquitous, the people of the village, were eleated to see the white crow.

When asked about this to Dr Anbu Selvam, a veterinarian from Tirupattur district, he said, “In general, DNA deficiency in all living beings, including humans, birds, animals and plants, causes albinism. This will change the colour of the skin on the body. Similarly, the white crow may have changed colour due to the same deficiency.” He added, saying, “In addition to this, melanin deficiency can cause whitening of the skin. Crows are white in many states in India.”

Pak’s ISI manipulated FBI witness to help Dawood’s money man walk free from London jail, says report

Dawood Ibrahim

In a desperate bid to cover up the nexus between the D-Company and Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) from being exposed to the world, Pakistan’s top sleuths allegedly manipulated a key FBI witness, who turned hostile and paved way for Dawood Ibrahim’s financier Jabir Motiwala, to go scot free in a high profile extradition case heard in London, a report by the IANS has revealed.

Last week, the US dropped all charges against Jabir and withdrew an extradition case against him, giving a breather to Dawood Ibrahim, India’s most wanted fugitive who has also been declared a global terrorist by several countries.

FBI informer and key witness in the case of Kamran Faridi, a Pakistani-American who trapped Dawood’s financier Motiwala in a drug racket case, was reportedly influenced by ISI officials to give a favourable statement in the British extradition court, which allowed Dawood’s right hand man to walk free from the London jail.

Faridi was approached by the ISI

Earlier, on the basis of very strong evidence, the London court had cleared extradition of Dawood’s financier to the US. All the charges relating to drugs and money laundering against Dawood’s aide were established in the court. However, at a very later stage when the case was being finalised by the High Court, Kamran Faridi, the key witness surprised everyone while revealing that he was pressured by his bosses in the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to trap D-company’s finance head Jabir Motiwala in a fake drug case. Prime witness Faridi’s complete U-turn on the story embarrassed the FBI, which ultimately dropped the charges against Dawood’s money man.

Indian intelligence officials said that Kamran Faridi, a former agent and informer of the FBI, whose financial condition was presently not good, was allegedly approached by ISI sleuths and manipulated to turn the case in their favour. Close to the final hearing in the High Court, a leading Pakistani newspaper, as part of the ISI’s game plan, published Kamran Faridi’s statement wherein he revealed that Dawood’s aide was “trapped” by him in a false case. Faridi also told the Pakistani newspaper that he was forced by FBI bosses to involve D-company in the trap. But Indian agencies do not buy Faridi’s side of the story.

“D-company and ISI worked in tandem to influence Kamran Faridi. For them Faridi was the only hope as Jabir Motiwala had almost lost the case. The ISI sleuths finally managed to convince to Faridi to contradict his own revelations about Jabir. We have come to know that initially Kamran’s relatives in Karachi were approached. A few officials in Pakistani High Commission and a journalist of a prominent Pakistani TV channel based in London, too played a crucial part in highlighting Kamran Faridi’s manipulated statement,” an IPS officer of an Indian intelligence agency disclosed.

Case would have disclosed the nexus between Dawood and his Pakistani handlers

Boasting about it’s role, Geo TV, a major Pakistani news Channel, claimed that the “most critical intervention” in the case came when the channel and its English newspaper published a story on March 19, 2021 revealing that a former Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) informant was stopped from entering the UK by the UK Immigration authorities, as Kamran Faridi wanted to record his testimony before the High Court of Justice. The former FBI agent had wanted to testify under oath before the Court that he was involved in the abuse of process to trap Jabir Motiwala.

“How a former FBI agent, and a key witness who remained mum for so many years, turned hostile at such a late stage? Obviously ISI managed this agent, as Motiwala’s extradition would have opened a can of worms in the US court, exposing the underworld terror nexus between Dawood Ibrahim and his handlers in Pakistan,” a senior officer of an Indian intelligence agency alleged.

After years of persuasion, the US has now withdrawn the extradition request against Jabir Motiwala, involved in drug trafficking and the handling of Dawood’s international financial deals.

Jabir, who flew from Cyprus to London in 2018, was arrested by Scotland Yard at the request of the FBI. During the extradition trial in London, FBI lawyers had submitted to the court that Jabir Motiwala was managing funds for Dawood Ibrahim in UAE, Britain and other countries. Regarding drug dealing, FBI agents recorded Motiwala on camera, who was seen talking about finance and supply of drugs from Karachi to Atlantic City. Based on such solid evidence the court had earlier cleared extradition of Jabir Motiwala to the US.
