Bengaluru man in trouble after buying used car which was involved in murder case

Purchasing a used 2013-made Toyota Fortuner for ₹10.2 lakhs from a city-based used car dealer has landed a Bengaluru man in trouble.

In February of this year, the Udupi district police informed the car’s owner, 39-year old R Rajkumar, that the car he was driving was involved in a murder case reported on February 10, 2020 in Hiriyadka police station limits.

According to the police, six men, including a businessman from Hiriyadka, were accused of murdering Vashista Yadav, a Mumbai-based businessman. The accused had taken Yadav to a desolate place in Hiriyadka in the Hiriyadka businessman’s Toyota Fortuner and had murdered him.

The court later directed the car to be released to the current owner on the condition that it not be sold or rented to any other third party until the trial was over.

Rajkumar, aghast at the turn of events, reached out to the dealer who had sold him the used SUV. The dealer then promised Rajkumar that he would repay the amount that had paid to him.

However, after the dealer failed to repay the amount, Rajkumar had filed a complaint with the RT Nagar Police.

Andhra Govt issues order to identify SC and Christian population following NCSC’s notice over large scale Christian conversions among SCs

Following the notice issued by National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) to the Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh seeking an ‘action taken’ report in the matter of large scale Christian conversions happening amongst the Scheduled Caste (SC) community, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has ordered to survey the SC and Christian population.

The order dated 12th August 2021 issued by the Deputy Director of Social Welfare Department, asks Assistant Social Welfare Officers allocated to different mandals of Ananthapuramu district to conduct field surveys furnish the following information:

1. SC & Christian Population at Municipality and Mandal Wise

2. Number of Churches in each Municipality/Mandal

3. Visit SC colonies and observe if they are practicing Hinduism or Christianity

The order asks to submit the details within 5 days of the notification.

The NCSC took cognizance following a complaint made by the SC ST Rights Forum, a non-profit legal activism organization working in the area of Dalit rights, a copy of which was accessed by The Commune.

In its complaint, the organization had said that large scale religious conversions are leading to social strife, law and order issues and families getting torn apart. It said that the situation is such that the term ‘SC’ and ‘Christians’ have become synonymous. Citing the replies to an RTI query about the selection of beneficiaries for the Andhra government’s scheme ‘Chandranna Christmas Kanuka’, the complaint said that the government officials in Andhra had replied that they treat the entire SC population as Christians while the scheme is meant only for Christians.

The complaint also pointed to the anomaly in the demographic data of number of Christians in the state based on the report titled  “What happened to the Christians of Andhra Pradesh?” brought out by the Centre for Policy Studies.

The data from the report shows a sharp decline in those who declared their religion as Christianity between 1971 and 2011.

The complaint observed that those practicing Christianity are obtaining Hindu caste certificates to take advantage of the reservation benefits. It also said that Christian evangelists indulge in aggressive proselytization and sow the seeds of secessionism by making the converts swear allegiance to extra-constitutional and extra-territorial religious heads.

PM Modi announces ₹100 lakh crore ‘PM Gati Shakti Master Plan’ for economic growth

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (August 15) unfurled the national flag from the ramparts of the Red Fort as India enters its 75th year of Independence.

In his address to the nation, PM Modi touched upon a range of topics like the Covid-19 pandemic, vaccines, Aatmanirbhar Bharat, welfare of small farmers, infrastructural development etc.

PM Modi announced a ₹100 lakh crore ‘Pradhan Mantri Gati Shakti National Master Plan’. The massive infrastructure master plan will be launched in the coming days he said.

“In the coming days, we will launch PM Gati Shakti Plan, a 100 lakh crore national infrastructure master plan which will make a foundation for holistic infrastructure and give an integrated pathway to our economy,” PM Modi said.

“Gati Shakti will help local manufacturers turn globally competitive; also develop possibilities of new future economic zones. ₹100 lakh crore Gatishakti initiative will bring employment opportunities for youth, help in holistic infrastructure growth,” PM Modi added.

“We will have to work together to manufacture world-class products, using cutting-edge innovation and new age technology,” PM Modi further added.

Christian pastor in Madurai sexually abuses teenager and forces him to have gay sex, CSI fails to take action

An incident has taken place in the Madurai CSI Church where a priest has been accused of sexually harassing a teenage boy who had come to train as a pastor under him by forcing the boy to have gay sex.

David Jebaraj is a pator at the Cathedral Church owned by the CSI Church in the Narimedu area of ​​Madurai. There has been a stir in Madurai over posters claiming that David Jebaraj who is currently working at the Sivakasi West church, was sexually harassing young people in the name of training them to become pastors. Kumutham Reporter magazine has published an article in this regard.

A young boy who was sexually harassed has revealed shocking information about the pastor. The boy had gone to the Cathedral Church in Madurai with his parents. Pastor David Jebaraj had reportedly contacted the young boy and persuaded him to come to the pastor training class. When the boy had refused to join, the pastor had spread rumor and told his parents that he was involved in affairs with girls. The pastor had told the parents that their son would become a better man only if he joins the pastor training class. 

The deceived parents made their son enroll for training under him. Within a week of joining, the pastor started revealing his homosexual side and started misbehaving with the teenager. He narrated pornographic stories and had even touched the boy in his private parts when sleeping. When the stunned and scarred boy asked what he was upto, the pastor apparently said that “he was just checking”.

He said that he wanted to escape from the clutches of the pastor somehow and had told some people in the Church who refused to believe him. Later, the boy recorded the pastor’s call in which he had spoken sexually to him which he submitted to the Archbishop. However, the Archbishop transferred the priest to Sivakasi church instead of taking action against him.

The Church had paid the boy ₹15,000 in an attempt to put an end to the matter but no action has been taken against the pastor till now. The Archbishop had reportedly refused to comment on the issue when the Tamil magazine had contacted them.

All Sainik School open for girl students now: PM Modi announces in Independence Day speech

In a move towards fostering girl child education, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that all Sainiki Schools will now be for girls as well.

“Today, the government has decided that doors of every Sainik School will now be open for its girl child.”, PM Modi announced from the ramparts of the Red Fort.

The Prime Minister said that he used to get messages from lakhs of girl children to open Sainik Schools for girls. The Modi government piloted the initiative in Mizoram 2.5 years ago where girl children were admitted to a Sainik school. The Central Government had approved the admissions of girl children from class (VI) at Sainik School, Niglok in East Siang district.

Sainik schools are well known and stand apart because of its unique vision of making and reshaping of young minds to join premier National Defence Academy.

Anti-social elements in Tirupur use temple land as bar, HR&CE dept looks the other way

Devotees and public of the area have demanded security for the temple site in Tirupur amid complaints that the unoccupied temple land is being used by anti-social elements as a “bar”.

Karupparayan Temple is an ancient temple located in the Notchipalayam area of ​​the Karaiputhur panchayat near Palladam in Tirupur district. The temple is owned by the Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) department and owns 8.99 acres of land. Farmers have been cultivating this land on lease basis. However, barbed wire fences were erected last year and a notice was sent by the department saying that the 5 acres of land owned by the temple had been handed over to the police department to build the Tirupur Commissioner’s office.

Locals lament that the temple land, which is currently without any security, is being used by anti-social elements for drinking, gambling and other anti-social activities.

Devotees and temple activists have condemned the use of  temple lands for other purposes. The Madras High Court has time and again said that temple lands should not be used for activities other than temple related activities and that revenue arising out of the temple must be used for only for the benefit of the temple. Despite the ruling, the HR&CE department continues to plunder temple lands.

In this light, locals have warned that protests will be staged on behalf of the public if the authorities do not protect the temple land.

Taliban bans Covid-19 vaccine in captured territory, start taking girls as sex slaves

As the Taliban makes more advances, news of its enforcement of archaic Islamic laws is now being reported as they are now forcibly taking away young girls as sex slaves and the Taliban has now banned the use of Covid-19 vaccines in East Afghanistan.
 
“Taliban Banned Using of COVID-19 Vaccines in Paktia”, tweeted Afghanistan-based Shamshad News. “The provincial Public Health Director Walayat Khan Ahmadzai said the Covid-19 vaccine ward is closed for the last three days, and the clients are told that the vaccine has been banned.”
 
The Taliban has warned that anyone who distributes the Covid-19 vaccine is committing an act of Haram and they also believe the vaccines are used against Muslims to make them impotent.
 
In captured territories, the most conservative interpretation of Sharia has been implemented like women can’t go out of the house alone and must have a male escort and a women’s right education.

14 August declared ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Day’

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday (14 August) declared that from here on forth, 14th August will now be observed as Partition Horrors Remembrance Day in memory of the millions of people displaced and all those who lost their lives due to mindless hate and violence during the partition of India in 1947.

“Partition’s pains can never be forgotten. Millions of our sisters and brothers were displaced and many lost their lives due to mindless hate and violence. In memory of the struggles and sacrifices of our people, 14th August will be observed as Partition Horrors Remembrance Day,” PM Modi said in a tweet.

“May the #PartitionHorrorsRemembranceDay keep reminding us of the need to remove the poison of social divisions, disharmony and further strengthen the spirit of oneness, social harmony and human empowerment,” he added.

According to historians, the partition of India along religious lines displaced some 20 million people when Pakistan was created for Muslims. This division of a nation purely based on religion, though India chose to remain pluralistic, created an overwhelming refugee crisis.

The partition led to large-scale violence and as per varying estimates, nearly two million lost their lives. Now by declaring 14 August as ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Day’ – the same day which the Islamic Republic of Pakistan celebrates as its Independence Day – India has sent a very strong message as to why a nation must never be divided.

‘Stop killing Tamil’: Tamil Nadu Fin Min struggles to read budget speech in Tamil, becomes butt of memes

The DMK government in Tamil Nadu presented its first budget on Friday (August 13), ninety nine days after coming to power. The budget, presented by Tamil Nadu Finance Minister PTR Palanivel Thiagarajan, made record by being the first paper-less budget in the history of Tamil Nadu.

However, the budget also seems to have made another record for being a budget speech with most number of faux pas.

Palanivel Thiagarajan who proudly calls himself a ‘Dravidian’ and quite often boasts about being a fourth generation dynast politician tracing his lineage to Justice Party, fumbled and struggled to read the budget speech in Tamil. Many pointed out that the DMK Minister read out the speech like a school kid with poor reading skills being asked to read out from the textbook. The Finance Minister made several errors like even on simple words and struggled to make complete sentences.

A Twitter user named Selva Kumar has compiled some of the faux pas committed by Palanivel Thiagarajan.

This has now set off a meme fest with netizens letting their creativity wild and coming out with rib-tickling memes. Many including BJP Tamil Nadu leaders mocked PTR for his inability to speak Tamil.

BJP leader H. Raja said “Ayyo Pavam Tamil!” which means “Pity Tamil!”

BJP Tamil Nadu spokesperson SG Suryah took a jibe by pointing out to a word which Palanivel Thiagarajan struggled to pronounce.

“A person who does not know Tamil presents Tamil budget in Tamil Nadu Assembly shows the work done towards Tamil by the DMK for the last 71 years!”, SG Suryah said.

US and UK send troops to get embassy personnel out of Afghanistan, Afghan VP hits out at Pak for supporting Taliban

As the Taliban surge continues unabated and it captures provinces after provinces, Afghan Vice-President Amrullah Saleh on Friday (13 August) held Pakistan responsible for its continued support to the Taliban.

In a tweet sent Saleh, who also served as the director of the Afghan intelligence agency National Directorate of Security (NDS) from 2004 to 2010, he said, “Truth can’t be hidden or faked for long. It comes out and hits back at the liar and the deceiver. Pakistan can’t hide anymore. They are in the war and on the side of the terrorist Taliban,”.

Saleh is one of the staunchest critics of the Pakistan Army and its notorious intelligence agency, the ISI’s for its interference in Afghanistan’s internal affairs by supporting and sheltering Taliban terrorists.

However, things are looking very bleak for the elected government of Afghanistan as the Taliban has captured Kandahar, Afghanistan’s second-largest city, Herat, its third and the key city of Lashkar Gah, the capital of Helmand province and this puritanical Islamic terror group have already taken control of at least 14 of country’s 34 provincial capitals in a week.

No one thought the Taliban will achieve such victories in such a short period of time. Ghazni which is 53 miles south of Kabul fell to the Islamic group on Thursday (Aug 12) morning local time and the loss of this key city is now seen as the prelude to the eventual takeover of the capital Kabul in the coming weeks.

Ghazni is strategically important as it has a major road that connects the capital to the country’s southern provinces. This loss will not put more pressure on Afghan government forces as the Taliban now controls key locations both north and south of the capital.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin spoke to Afghanistan’s President Ashraf Ghani and in a statement released by the US State Department that reads, “Secretary Blinken and Secretary Austin informed President Ghani that the United States is reducing our civilian footprint in Kabul in light of the evolving security situation and will accelerate the tempo of Special Immigration Visa (SIV) flights,”.

“The Secretaries both emphasized that the United States remains committed to maintaining a strong diplomatic and security relationship with the Government of Afghanistan.”

Right now the United Kingdom and the US have sent hundreds of troops to extract American embassy personnel and to facilitate the departure of Afghans under the special immigrant visa program.

Pentagon Press Secretary John F. Kirby said, “We believe that this is the prudent thing to do given the rapidly deteriorating security situation in and around Kabul,”.
