In a sad case of online friendship gone awry, a 32-year-old woman from Kollam, Kerala, who had travelled 300 km to meet her ‘online friend’ Ajnaz, was allegedly gang-raped by him and his three other friends, Fahadh, Nijaz and Suhaib.

The victim had become friends with her rapist over the video streaming platform TikTok in Kerala’s Kozhikode.

As per reports, all four of the accused are now arrested.

The woman was given some drugs and alcohol which left her incapacitated and was assaulted.

Later, 26-year-old Ajnaz and 36-year-old Fahadh were arrested on Friday and remanded into police custody. Nijaz and Suhaib, natives of Atholi, were taken into police custody on Saturday.

The woman fell into the trap when she came into contact via the online video sharing platform TikTok two years ago. On the pretext of love, Ajnaz invited her to Kozhikode to meet him. Once she reached there, Ajnaz and Fahadh took her to a hotel on the outskirts of the city and Ajnaz raped her and then invited Fahadh into the room.

Later they allegedly forced her to drink alcohol and consume other drugs and raped her over and over. The accused also filmed the act on their phones.

But the ordeal did not end there. Two days ago, Ajnaz brought her to a flat and two more of his friends also raped her after drugging her, the police said. After the brutal assault, fearing that she may die, they dropped her at a private hospital and fled.

As per the police, one of the accused has criminal antecedents.

Chevayur police has registered cases under section 376D of IPC and IT Act.

It should be noted that recently, Bishop of the Syro-Malabar Church Joseph Kallarangatt had said that “Muslims use love-jihad and narcotic-jihad to end the non-Muslims.”

According to the Bishop of the Syro Malabar Church, “Jihadis, through love or other means, use women from other religions for misusing, for terrorist activities, or for economic gains. Those trying to prove that there’s no ‘love jihad’ are trying to feign ignorance. It’s not just a love marriage, it’s a war strategy.”

“There is a plan going on to forcefully bring in Muslim thoughts and all Catholics should be aware of this and be watchful,” Kallarangatt had said.

In an all-girls hostel in the Bhagalpur district of Bihar, female students belonging to the Muslim community protested on Saturday (11 September) afternoon after the hostel superintendent directed them to wear a burqa inside the campus.

As per reports, the students pelted stones on the gate of the hostel and alleged that the superintendent is trying to impose the Taliban’s Sharia law inside the hostel campus.

“Every time we wear trousers, the superintendent abuses us. She also gives wrong information to our parents stating that we talk to boys,” said Daraksha Anwar, a student.

“It is not easy to wear a burqa in hot and humid conditions during summer season in Bihar, hence, we sometimes wear trousers and T-shirts inside the campus. Whenever she saw any student in trousers or talking to female students who are having scooty, she starts scolding/abusing us,” said Neda Fatima, a research scholar.

Authorities rushed to the spot after the incident. Circle Officer of Nath Nagar Smita Jha, along with a police team, reached the girls’ hostel to sorted out the matter.

However, the superintendent of the hostel denied the charges levelled against her by the students.

“We have taken the statements of the students and the superintendent. The investigation is currently underway. We will submit the probe report to the district education officer soon”,  Jha said.

Last week in Nagpur, Muslim women belonging to the women’s wing of Jamaat-e-Islami Hindi, Girls Islamic Organisation, were distributing pamphlets encouraging non-Muslim girls between the age of 15-25 to wear hijab and encouraged them to ‘spread knowledge of Quran and Sunnah’.

Another DMK promise dissolves as TN students are all set to write NEET

The DMK which had promised in its manifesto that they would scrap the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test as soon as they come to power has failed with students all set to write the exam today (September 12).

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and his MLA son Udhayanidhi Stalin had extensively campaigned across the state that the first signature that they would be putting would be on banning NEET.

But nothing was done for a month with the government also faced with battling the second wave of COVID-19. After the exam notification was released, the Stalin government formed a committee under Justice AK Rajan. It was alleged that more than 80,000 feedback were received against the exam.

Health Minister Ma. Subramanian had started hinting a couple of weeks ago that it would not be possible for them to scrap NEET. The Health Minister started appealing to students to prepare for NEET this year and that adequate coaching be given to them through the School Education Department.

In the DMK’s political game, students have been facing stress as they were kept bewildered about the status of exam this year.

Opposition AIADMK has been hitting out at the DMK for playing with students’ lives and for making false promises. Many on social media have been lashing out at the Stalin government for playing politics using students as pawns.

BJP Tamil Nadu President K. Annamalai sent out a message on social media wishing the students the best for the exam.

Centre and States must work as Team India for long-term revival of economy: Vice President

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu today said the Centre and States should work in a Team India spirit for the long-term revival of the economy and steer India to greater heights in all spheres.

Speaking at the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations of the Hindustan Chamber of Commerce, he expressed his happiness that the Centre and various States are creating a conducive atmosphere for foreign investment. In the fiscal year 2021, the total FDI inflows stood at US $ 81.72 billion, which is a 10% year-on-year increase, he added.

He also stressed that promoting Public-Private-Partnership in different sectors, including infrastructure, health and education was vital to propel economic growth.

Referring to COVID-19 and its impact, he said that even though the second wave has slowed down the revival, the Indian economy has turned around and is firmly set on the path to recovery. Thanks to a series of timely measures and policy reforms initiated by the government, the economic situation has been improving gradually, the Vice President added.

On this occasion, the Vice President appealed to the citizens to get vaccinated for COVID-19, calling it their ‘Pavitra Kartavya’ or responsibility towards their family, community and the nation. He also called upon private players to join the efforts of the government in bringing medical infrastructure and facilities accessible to people in remote and rural areas.

Stating that India stands poised on the cusp of economic transition, he said all indicators point to a long-term phase of growth and recovery in the coming months. Based on different markers, the RBI has retained the growth projection of 9.5 per cent for 2021-22.

Driven by strong macro-economic fundamentals, forward-looking reforms, opening up of FDI and improving the ease of doing business, the Indian economy has the potential to reach the US$ 5 trillion mark in the coming years, the Vice President observed.

Observing that India is blessed with a huge population of educated, talented youth and a vast pool of scientific manpower, the Vice President said there has to be a greater focus on creating the right ecosystem for innovation to thrive by enhancing investments in R & D. In this context, he wanted the public sector and the private entities to join hands. He advised bodies like the Hindustan Chamber of Commerce (HCC) to play a proactive role in facilitating such tie-ups.

The Vice President suggested that trade bodies and business community should evolve a common code of conduct for their members and weed out black sheep who bring a bad name to the entire corporate and business fraternity.

The Vice President also wanted bodies like Hindustan Chamber of Commerce to take up training and upskilling of youth and ensure that they not only become employable but also are capable of self-employment. “They should be imparted the required skills and knowledge to become job creators rather than job seekers”, he added.

Referring to the recent statement of Tamil Naidu Chief Minister, M K Stalin on the need to rewrite history, the Vice President said that the history of the Indian sub-continent must be rewritten with an Indian perspective and not through a colonial lens.

Lauding the talented, skilled and hardworking people of Tamil Nadu, he said that Tamil Nadu is an attractive place for investments with a stable and investor-friendly government; good connectivity and infrastructure.

Telangana: Seva Bharati hands over newly constructed houses to victims of Bhainsa attacks

In the month of January 2020, some hooligans launched unprovoked, indiscriminate and savage attacks on the houses of unsuspecting, gullible and innocent Hindus living in the Korbagalli neighborhood of Bhainsa town, Telangana. The houses were reduced to cinders and all household items, clothes, etc., were totally damaged in these premeditated brutal attacks.

Seva Bharati of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh promptly came to the rescue of these unfortunate victims providing immediate succor and restoring some confidence in the abject people whose hopes were shattered.

Sewa Bharathi working in tandem with Kesava Sewa Samithi constructed 10 new houses at a cost of one crore rupees to be gifted to the ten affected families. On Wednesday, September 1, 2021, Sri Parag Abhankar, Akhila Bharatha Sewa Pramukh, handed over the new houses and a grand Samuhika Gruhapravesam (collective house warming ceremony) was conducted.

Speaking on this occasion Sri Parag Abhankar stressed the urgent need for unity among Hindus. The Hindu society must inculcate self-confidence and mutual generosity. He elucidated various social service activities and projects undertaken by Seva Bharati and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

Member of Parliament of Adilabad, Sri Soyam Babu Rao, who also participated in the program, condemned the ruthless attacks on the Hindus of Bhainsa and promised that he will stand by the Hindus in their hour of need.

Sri Burla Dakshina Murthy, Sanghchalak of RSS Telangana, observed that Sewa Bharati’s initiative in building new houses is very reassuring. The program was attended inter-alia by Sri Krishnadas, Nagara Sanghchalak, Sri Rama Murthy and state General Secretary of Sewa Bharathi. Sri Harischandra, State president of Hindu Vahini and other well-wishers also attended the program.

During the January 2020 disturbances in Bhainsa, as many as 12 houses were partially damaged and 10 houses were totally gutted. Even vehicles were systematically torched. Noticing the grief-stricken and crestfallen plight of the people, many of the local volunteers of Sewa Bharathi swung into action and with the support of philanthropists and provided immediate assistance like food grains, assurance and daily needs to the members of the 22 families.

Sewa Bharathi volunteers, after providing immediate comfort to the victims, planned to construct houses on the victims’ own sites so as to instill confidence among people. So much so that the work of construction of 10 houses was undertaken with the cooperation of Telangana state Sewa Bharathi and Kesava Seva Samithi, Bhagyanagaram, and completed quickly.

A sense of togetherness, an awareness that we are all the children of Bharata Mata and we all form part of a large family has to be instilled in the Hindus. With this consciousness, we naturally come to the rescue of each other with a sense of brotherhood in the time of calamities. This was the very idea with which the construction of houses was taken up to mitigate the hardships of fellow Hindus. Many donors came forward due to which we could fulfill the project of providing 10 houses which actually accommodated as many as 50 persons. It is pertinent to note that almost all the victims come from a very poor backgrounds. Among the beneficiaries were a meat seller (katika), a small shopkeeper, a simple clerk, a widow and two farmers.

Sarada, one of the beneficiaries expressed happiness that it was very heartening that the Kesava Seva Samity and Sewa Bharathy could handed over the new houses that too in their own Basti in just 8 months’.

TN CM MK Stalin doesn’t wish for Vinayagar Chathurthi, had wished for Bakrid

As expected, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin did not wish the Hindu community on the occasion of Vinayagar Chaturthi in line with the anti-Hindu stance of the DMK.

The DMK is known for its tirade against Hinduism which traces its roots to the anti-Hindu movement launched by E.V. Ramasamy Naicker (hailed as ‘Periyar’ by his admirers).

While they claim to be ‘rationalistic’, their rationalism is only targeted against members of only one particular faith – Hinduism. They resort to blatant and covert appeasement towards members of the two major Abrahamic faiths – Islam and Christianity to consolidate their minority votebank.

Chief Minister Stalin who did not wish for Vinayagar Chathurthi had just a few weeks ago sent his wishes on the occasion of Bakrid.

Similarly, as Tamil people across the world celebrated Puthandu (Tamil New Year) the DMK chief did not extend wishes for the same but had sent wishes to people on the occasion of Ugadi, the Telugu New Year.
